It had been a couple of months since Jinx was unexpectedly turned into a Thestral by her magic, which lead to meeting Neptune and him joining the family due living in the Everfree abandoned with only a tree for a home, Discord had made the Cottage bigger so Neptune could have his own room so he wouldn't have to keep sleeping on the couch. During these months Discord, Twilight, and Starlight had all tried to turn Jinx back into the pony-draconequus hybrid that she was, however none of them had no luck, much to the frustration of Discord, as he always had control over chaos magic and for what ever reason the magic was winning in this scenario.

Jinx on the other hoof wasn't concerned, she had grown to like her Threstral appearance and it didn't matter to her if she stayed this way. What had been concerning to Jinx was the fact she had begun having strange dreams which she always had, but those dreams centered around things she liked, the ones she recently begun having, she couldn't tell what was going on, each one the same as the previous one. Jinx would be standing in darkness then here a faint cry coming from somewhere, then she would wake up and see that it was morning.

One night the dream was different, Jinx was standing in darkness once again, then she was in the Everfree and she heard the same crying but it was louder, as she moved closer it became louder, Jinx has able to make out that who or whatever this crying belong to, it sounded like it was calling out to somepony needing help. She woke and saw that it was still night, instead of going back to sleep Jinx went into Neptune's room seeing that he was asleep, Jinx slightly nudged him to no avail.

"Neptune." she whispered but ended with no result, Jinx's eyes lit up blue and a blue aurora appeared around Neptune as he was lifted up in the air and dropped back on his bed. Neptune woke startled(as you can guess), he looked around for the cause and saw his sister sitting beside his bed smiling.

"Jinx." he grunted, pulling the covers back over him.

"Hey bro!" she said.

"What do you want?" he asked.

"I need your help." she said.

"With what?" he asked.

"I've been having these weird dreams." she replied.

"You always have weird dreams!" he said bluntly.

"Yes, but these ones are more on the unusable side and I think the answers are in the Everfree." she said

"Is there a point coming soon?" he asked.

"I want to go to the Everfree to find the answer to these dreams of mine and I want you to come with me." she answered.

Neptune sat up with a blank expression on his face as he looked at her "You want me to go with you to the Everfree Forest to find the answers to your weird dreams, which might not even be there by the way in the middle of night?" he finished.

"Yup!" she exclaimed.

"Alright let's go." he said.

When they got the the forest it was quiet, nothing really out of the ordinary, as they started their journey Jinx didn't see or hear anything. After a few minutes of walking she stopped as she heard the same crying from her dreams it was faint but audible to her.

"Jinx what is it?" he asked.

"I hear it." she whispered.

"Hear wh-" he said, but was cut off when Jinx began running towards this crying she was hearing.

"Jinx wait!" he called.

They ran for about half an hour, Jinx then suddenly stopped as the crying was at it loudest, it was in the same area were Neptune found Jinx passed out from pain that night. She realized it was coming from the bushes and when she opened it with her hoofs she gasped, as trapped in the bush's thorns was a tiny winged animal about the size of Jinx's hoof and looked to be a baby. It's head, ears and body were feline shaped, it's face was rodent like and it's wings were Pegasus shaped. It had a long skinny tail and snow-white fur on it's head, body, legs, wings ears, legs, claws and tail, its pupils were white and it's irises and sclera were black, Jinx rescued it with her magic and held it in her wing which made the crying stop.

"What is it?" Neptune asked.

"I don't know, but it looks to be a he." she answered.

"Oh!, what should we do with him?" Neptune asked.

"Take him home." she answered as the started to walk back, Jinx moved the animal out of her wing in her magic, which made him wimpier at the loss of warmth. "Aw it's okay, no need to be sad." which made him open his eyes, Jinx sat him down and the animal flew up to her head and nestled in her mane.

"Well he seems happy with you." said Neptune.

"Yeah, he does." Jinx said.

"I wonder why?" Neptune asked.

"I guess i'am more like mom than I thought." Jinx said.

"What are you going to name him?" Neptune asked.

"Sage." Jinx answered.

"Why that?" Neptune asked.

"I don't know." Jinx smiled.

As the sunlight pierced through the curtains in her room the next morning, Jinx awoke with a snow-white tail in her face. The little animal had really taken a liking to her mane using it as both a pillow and blanket.

"Sage, it's time wake up." she said, but he stayed asleep.

Jinx gently moved Sage so not to wake him up she got out of bed, Jinx put the little animal back in her mane and head downstairs. She felt Sage move and stopped when she saw a pair of black eyes looking at her.

"Well good morning." she said with a low chirp noise from Sage in response.

"Good Morning my dear daughter!" said Discord as he appeared in his grand fashion.

"Hi dad." Jinx said.

"So I see your mother as made a most glorious breakfast this morning, shall we?" said Discord as the two made their way into the kitchen. Where Fluttershy had made pancakes and Neptune was still half-asleep and trying not to end face first in his pancakes.

"Did you two sleep well?" asked Fluttershy.

"Yes." said Jinx.

"No." groaned Neptune.

"Why not?" asked Fluttershy.

"Because Jinx dragged me to the Everfree last night to find answers to some weird dreams she was having." answered Neptune.

"She always has weird dreams!" said Discord.

"I know." said Neptune.

"Jinx?" said Fluttershy curiously.

Everypony looked at Jinx, before she could say anything her mane blinked startling Fluttershy, then Sage revealed himself when he saw it was safe.

"Oh yeah!, Jinx rescued an animal last night." Neptune said with a mouthful of pancakes.

"I can't believe it!, you found yourself a Feylur!" exclaimed Discord scaring Sage.

"A Feylur?" asked Fluttershy.

"Yes!, you see a Feylur is a very rare magical animal, they are capable of camouflaging their fur to the color of what there standing on to hide themselves, like this one has done." answered Discord.

"It's okay Sage." said Jinx calmly as she gently petted him and Sage slowly revealed himself again.

"You said that Feylurs are magical right?, so what magic can they do?" said Jinx.

"Well I forget exactly, as this is the first time I've ever seen one, I don't have all the answers." said Discord.

"Do you think Celestia might know something?" asked Fluttershy.

"Possibly or she might have the same limited knowledge about them as I do." answered Discord.

Jinx grabbed Sage with her magic causing the Feylur to squeak in surprise, she held him in front of her. "I don't think it matters, as long as your with me." she said giving him a hug. Jinx let him go and Sage flew back up to his favorite spot and nestled in her mane, Jinx smiled, finished her breakfast and heard another low chirp from Sage then a low purring.

"So I take it your happy up there?" she laughed with Sage giving another low chirp in response.

So another weird idea thrown into this story and I still don't know where this is going. Also I hope you guys like Sage's design because I was trying to come up with a creature that wasn't in the show, but there probably already is one like Sage.
