Shining Armor was the husband of Princess Cadance and the prince of the Crystal Empire as well as Captain of the Royal Guard. He was also the father of baby Flurry Heart and the brother of one of Equestria's heroes. The stallion felt content with his life.

That is, until a green ring came flying in. He discovered that he became a member of the Green Lantern Corps, who thrive on the emotion of will. And that Equestria was part of a bigger universe. Not only that, but more rings begin to appear, each representing a different emotion.
