Chapters Arrival; Ver. 2
-San Francisco, Terra-
The small man looked up at the massive female MUTO with a growing sense of fear as flickering, fiery eyes glared down at him, pulsing with hatred. Her jaws slowly unhinged as the man lifted his gun up to the kaiju, feeling the hot stink of her breath on his face and maintaining a firm, fearless expression.
Just as the MUTO's maw unhinged and split to their full capacity, she froze, jaws beginning to shudder slightly as a pained gurgle leaked from her throat.
The man lowered his gun slightly and glanced at it. He didn't pull the trigger, so what happened?
His question was answered as a massive grey leviathan wounded with many wounds crunched down on the MUTO's shoulder and jerked her back. The electromagnetic monster lifted her claws in meek defense as her opponent shoved her head down and began to pry her jaws apart. She uttered a scream of panic as Godzilla pulled her back up, spines beginning to burn with a fierce light and loud hum.
The green-grey kaiju pulled his head back to avoid his adversary's flailing talons before throwing his jaws open and forcing her down. A stream of nuclear fire erupted from his maw and poured down the feMUTO's gullet, wisps of radioactive smoke leaking from a growing crease across the base of her head.
Weak claws slipped off of Godzilla's shoulders before his foe's head was torn from her neck in a shower of deep crimson ichor.
The glow of the kaiju's dorsal plates died off as he swung to face the burning city of San Francisco, the smoldering head of the female MUTO still in his grasp. A deep, victorious bellow echoed forth from a scarred maw as Lucky Dragon released the remnants of his opponent's skull with a plume of water.
Exhaustion was quick to catch the grey monster, and he let out a heavy breath before trudging ashore, vision becoming blurred as he laid down to rest. The blackness of unconsciousness was all he needed right now, and he was oblivious to the flash of black and white that enveloped his form...
-Ponyville, Equestria-
The Element of Kindness, a pink maned, light yellow pegasus, hummed quietly to herself with a content smile as she made her way towards her home in Ponyville. The fresh, warm breeze wafted the scents of apples and marigolds, one of Fluttershy's favorite flowers, into her nose. Indeed, it was a day to enjoy, and one that would put her element up to the test and not be forgotten.
Fluttershy smiled warmly as the sight of her house became visible over the hill, watching the birds that rested upon the canopy of her back-yard oak tree mingle with each other and hearing them sing in a symphony of chirps. Her expression deadpanned at the sight of a brown bear cub as it attempted to reach a large bee's nest hanging on a low branch of the tree in question. She lost count of how many times she had told him to stay away from the nest or risk being stung by an angry swarm of bees.
Just as the pegasus was about to call out to the bear and fix the problem, a large, green-grey shape plummeted towards the ground amongst a shower of concrete, metal, and sheet-rock. The figure, she could tell, even from a distance, was a stallion who appeared unresponsive to his current situation.
Before she could take to the air and try to rescue the falling pony, he slammed into the dirt road before her, sending a spray of dust and gravel into the air around him.
"OHMYGOSH!!" Fluttershy gasped in shock, jumping up slightly before galloping up to the crater that the stallion had created upon impact, gentle wing beats helping to swiftly propel her forward. Despite a typically shy demeanor, the Element of Kindness was a capable and adept flier when need be... And at that time...
She needed to be...
Skidding to a halt before the impact crater, horror stretched across Fluttershy's face at the sight of a massive, heavily wounded Kirin stallion whose hide was covered from head to tail in numerous cuts, bites, and scars.
Fluttershy, with a slight hesitation, slipped down towards the stallion, pushing a lock of her mane away from her ear and placing her head against his chest, a hoof to his neck to check for a pulse.
Though slow, she could feel the steady thump of his heart and leaned back, ushering a relieved sigh.
Standing back to her hooves and looking the stallion over for any further damage, while fighting deja vu from her time with the unicorn Xenilla, Fluttershy realized just how large the Kirin actually was. He was at least a half head taller than the tallest of the kaiju that had arrived, with the exception of the big red mare with anger issues. The unconscious pony was also the longest, possessing a dragonetic tail that easily made up half the length of his body. Like a Kirin, he possessed chest scales, of which were a dirty brown-grey in color, and claws on his forelimbs. His mane, which seemed to stick together in a fashion not far from Xenilla's, was a dark grey, with lighter grey streaks that appeared occasionally and ran down the length of his spine, where it ended in a tuft at the tip of his tail.
It was primarily his small canines and cutie mark that clued her into a foreign heritage. His cutie mark was the most baffling she'd seen, a blue flame that encompassed a strange, yellow symbol. It was a circle surrounded by three rounded off trapezoids whose inner face pointed away from the center circle.
Fluttershy lifted a brow before leaning down and taking a meek tug at the stallion's arm. When this lacked desired results, she elected to jump up and beat her wings in an attempt to pull him from the hole. It was no sell... She might as well have been trying to move a boulder.
With a pant, Fluttershy released her hold and lifted a brow, a small smile slipping across her face.
-An Hour Later-
A deep groan slipped out of a scarred maw, its owner lifting his eyelids with a grunt. An unusually soft feeling beneath him supported his weight as he dragged himself to a semi-sitting position, grimacing in slight pain at the aches that shot through his body.
Rubbing the tired out of his eyes, Lucky Dragon took in his surroundings, nostrils flaring as he took in the scents of the atmosphere. A sweet, if slightly nauseating scent permeated through the air around him, strongest to his left. Looking down, the kaiju spotted the source of the smell resting upon a wooden platform supported by four legs. Steam slithered from a small glass cup.
Upon realizing that there was no sunlight on his back, Lucky, as he had been nicknamed by fellow kaiju, Terran Defender or otherwise, looked up to see planks of wood over his head... He was in, it would seem, a house.
The kaiju's thoughts were interrupted by a soft voice that rang like a chime in his head. "Hello."
Swiveling his head, the Alpha Predator spotted the source of the noise. It was a horse, apparent in hooves and a mane, but the resemblance stopped there. The horse was a dainty shade of yellow with a pale pink mane and tail and a pair of wings that attached to her shoulder blades. Three pink butterflies were etched across her hip and teal eyes looked at him with an honest smile. "Mm, greetings," Lucky grunted with a yawn, eyelids drooping slightly. He didn't have to try hard to contain a mild surprise that this being, whatever it was, wasn't holding a gun.
"Quite the fall you took there, Big Guy... Left a nasty bump on your head," the mare said with a soft smile, pushing long bangs out of her face.
"I'll live," Lucky muttered, rising to his hooves to leave. At the feeling of walking on four limbs, the kaiju convert looked down with a visible frown spreading across his muzzle. "The Hell?" he queried, lifting a brow more in mild confusion than fear. He never had hooves before now. With a sigh, the Kirin ran a clawed hand through a newly formed, disheveled mane. The realization struck him like a freight train on nitrous oxide. The faint remembrance that he couldn't get to a Terran-Defender meeting called by Gamera, on account of his MUTO hunt, jogged his memory. While he couldn't make the meeting, Zilla Junior had been sent as a messenger to tell Lucky that his distant Godzillasaurus cousin, Godzilla Junior, and five others had been trapped in a land of mystical equines. Even then, he knew his cousin was more than capable of defending himself and therefore, didn't worry.
At the time, Lucky had shrugged it off as a load of horse crap, but here he was, trapped in the body of a horse.
"Why don't you sit down," the mare said, breaking off his musing before he could do anything more. "You need rest, whoever you are," she said, hoping by saying this that she might receive his name.
The Kirin stallion sighed and looked over at her. "Lucky," he said in a gruff, tired voice.
"I'm Fluttershy," the pegasus acknowledged with a slight smile and blush. There was a quality about the stallion's face that she could easily find attractive, with a very eagle-like profile that made for an almost noble look compared to the more reptilian stature of the kaiju that had arrived recently. A vague, disheveled, grey and black beard and tired look in his eye detained from the attraction slightly. At the thought of Xenilla, her first kaiju encounter, she noted the fact that Lucky could easily be mistaken for one of them. "Are you... a kaiju?" she asked with a nervous expression crossing her face.
The God of Destruction lifted a brow. He could smell the fear coming off of her and snickered at her demeanor. "Indeed," he obliged with a nod before returning to his seat upon the pink, cushioned couch, which he still had some difficulty getting used to.
At the words, Fluttershy perked up a bit. "There are six others here!" she blurted before quickly backtracking into a metaphorical shell, cheeks turning bright red.
Despite the outburst, this mare had Lucky's attention. "Who?" he asked, tone flat and devoid of emotion as he leaned forward slightly and took the cup of hot drink off of the table. The Kirin tilted his head up and downed the drink in one gulp before setting the tea cup back onto its matching glass plate.
The Element of Kindness didn't answer, but reattained the shy personality that she was known for.
Lucky looked down at her with a grumble. "Which... kaiju... are here? Or are you not going to answer me now that you know what I am?" he snorted.
"I'm sorry," the pegasus said in a near silent voice.
"What?" he said in an almost foreboding voice, beginning to grow annoyed. "I'm not going to skin you... Now, speak up," Lucky Dragon spoke.
"I'm sorry," Fluttershy said only slightly louder.
"Better... Now. Can you tell me which kaiju are here, or not?" the stallion said in a whisper, leaning forward and looking the mare in the eye.
Fluttershy shuddered at the flaming amber iris and yellow sclera before finally acknowledging. "Godzilla... Uh, Mothra, Ro...dan, I think it was, Destoroyah, Xenilla, and one other. I forgot his name," she stammered nervously, slinking back slightly. She looked on the verge of tears.
Electing to ignore the mispronunciation of one kaiju in particular, Lucky stood up from his seat and headed for the door, unaccustomedness to a quadruped form tripping him slightly as he did so. "Where are they?" he asked, stopping and turning his head to face her.
"I don't know," she replied.
Lucky sighed, but before he could do anything more, the lights in Fluttershy's home flickered before going out with a pop. The Kirin stallion's pupils constricted as Fluttershy ducked underneath the coffee table with a frightful gasp. A deep growl slithered out of Lucky's maw as he peeled his lips back to reveal rows of ivory fangs lining his jaws.
"What is it?" the Element of Kindness spluttered in fear.
The stallion didn't reply, but only whirled around and threw his hooves at the front door, which promptly ripped off the hinges, flew across the road, and turned into a pile of splinters as Lucky stormed from the house.
Fluttershy crawled from her hiding spot and gazed sadly at the remnants of her lovely red door, memories of her floorboards having been torn up by a different kaiju not eluding her. "It was unlocked," she whined before trailing the Kirin stallion outside.

Reunions and Nightmares; Ver 2.
-Ponyville-
Fluttershy trotted up to Lucky Dragon's, stopping dead in her tracks as she bumped into his broad hind leg in the process. The heavily built Kirin was unresponsive, glaring eyes trained on a strangely built pegasus before him.
The opposing creature was a thin and lanky pegasus who looked ludicrously small in comparison to the kaiju that he leered at with wrathful, flickering eyes. Fluttershy shuddered at the fiery red eyes devoid of a pupil, their pulsing not doing any good in keeping her emotions in a calm state. Its wings were unlike any pegasus she had ever seen, being a glossy black like his space fur. While unfolded, they formed a triangular shape, which looked comparable to those of a fighter jet of some sort. A short, crimson mane and tail flickered with static in tune with his eyes, and long, thin forelimbs tapered down to two, backward facing claws that he thrashed and swung wildly. The pegasus stallion's jaws were reminiscent of a beak, though the bottom jaw seemed to have a clean split down the middle that was held together by only a fold of skin. The pony shrieked and hissed in displeasure at the sight of its opponent as Fluttershy ducked behind Lucky's broad leg with a fearful mewing sound.
"Wh-what is th-at?" she stammered, pointing a shaky hoof at the disheveled pegasus and looking up at the seemingly unresponsive kaiju with pleading eyes.
But respond, Lucky eventually did. "A monster who would kill me just to lay its filthy eggs inside my radioactive carcass," the kaiju convert growled, eyes not straying away from the spluttering male MUTO.
"E-eggs?" the pegasus mare said with a sense of horrified shock, eyes wide as Lucky Dragon sucked in a deep breath of the early morning air.
Before the Element of Kindness could respond, a tremendous bellow ripped forth from the stallion's jaws, dark mane flickering slightly as the sound traveled for miles, any birds within the immediate area rocketing from said area with frightened shrills that were drowned by the thunderous scream.
-Ki Seong's Restaurant, Ponyville-
Anguirus and Ki Seong looked up from their respective cups of tea as a booming call drowned out all other noise in Ponyville like the crack of thunder... only five times louder than any thunder.
Ki Seong's ears instinctively flopped back as the call droned on before finally ceasing. The cervid-like mare glanced over at 'Quill Coat' with a questioning expression. "What was that?" she asked in her clipped, foreign accent. "It sounded close," she exclaimed.
Anguirus's expression was not that of confusion, but one of joy as he rose from his seat. "Was wondering when he would show up," he smiled to himself.
"Who?"
A swift wave of panic washed over the earth pony stallion at the remembrance that he was still trying to go incognito. "Uh... A friend of mine... said he was coming with me from the Frontier buuuut... got held up," he stammered slightly.
Ki lifted a brow with a sigh. "Sooo, why the roar?"
"Probably something... BAD!" the kaiju exclaimed at the sight of black wings and flickering eyes rising from a plume of smoke on the other side of town. Before anything more could be said, the stallion bolted towards the source of the smoke, kicking up a cloud of dust as he went. "I'll be back!" Anguirus called over his shoulder.
-Near Fluttershy's House, Ponyville-
The massive, green-grey Kirin lunged forward from the flaming building that he'd been thrown into, shoulders smoking as he emerged from the billowing smog. With a growl, Lucky Dragon lunged forward, jaws slamming shut on the smooth black wing of his kaiju foe with a spurt of blood.
The male MUTO shrieked in pain, thrashing to escape his heavy set foe using any means necessary, whether it was his claws or jaws. In spite of the numerous gashes that Lucky was receiving, his hold refused to falter before he twirled around and finally released his grip.
The pegasus spread his long wings to re-stabilize his position in the air before coming to a hover and facing Lucky a few yards away with a hiss. With a malefic cackle, the MUTO dove towards the God of Destruction, claws splayed and aimed for his adversary's throat.
Lucky readied himself to counter the attack with the same tail slam that he used to kill the kaiju the first time, only for a spiny brown mass to come running around a corner and curl into a ball of quills before rocketing up and colliding with the MUTO mid-air. Spiny protrusions shredded across glossy black fur with sparks and light thunderclaps, throwing the pegasus into the ground with a pained shriek.
Anguirus uncoiled from the thunder-ball in the air, landing back onto his hooves with a plume of dust, stern expression, and a growl.
Seriousness morphed into joy at the sight of whom he recognized as Godzilla Junior's cousin with a green-grey color, brown chest scales, and a long tail. It was primarily the cutie mark, though, that clued Anguirus in as to whom he'd just saved.
"Anguirus!" Lucky called to the earth stallion at the recognition of ivory quills, violet eyes, and dirty grey fur, lifting a clawed limb in the form of a wave. His expression, in spite of a familiar face, remained firm, though he let a slight smirk form across his lips as the stallion approached.
The Guardian Beast of Fire'e expression melted from joy to concern at the numerous scars that pitted his friend and ally's hide. "Jeez... How long has it been that you have THIS many scars?" Anguirus asked, nodding at the aged wounds. Lucky was a kaiju who, unlike Junior, lacked the ability to heal at a hyper-accelerated rate, even if he did heal faster than most, and in turn, accumulated a fair amount of scars as time passed and mutations or Anteverse aliens fought against him.
"Some fifty years or so," the Force of Nature acknowledged with a frown materializing upon his face.
"That aside, where were you when we needed your help on Solgell?" Anguirus said.
"Chasing these things," he said, turning to face the male MUTO... Only to find that the pegasus had vanished. Lucky lifted a brow and turned a 360ยบ, the tip of his tail beginning to glow, where the blue light spread to his back and neck, readying himself for a defensive tactic.
Anguirus joined him, bracing like a sprinter to leap up into a Thunder-ball as a counterattack.
Before either could respond, the black shape of the male MUTO dove down, slamming his claws into Lucky's side with all the force that the parasite could muster. The Kirin was knocked off of his clawed hooves, where he was thrown into a pile of smoldering rubble caused by a misfired beam of nuclear energy from earlier.
"It looks like his luck has run out," the MUTO hissed in a ghostly voice, haphazardly dropping to all fours with a sneer and facing Anguirus. His eyes flickered with hatred for every damn kaiju who got in his way from doing what was in his nature... reproducing. He especially hated the monster known primarily as Lucky Dragon.
Brief shock morphed across Anguirus's face at the force of the smaller kaiju's blow before a glare flashed across his muzzle and a growl leaked from his throat. Fluttershy, who still, by no small miracle, was around, dove towards the pile with a gasp before Anguirus lurched forward and snagged her by the waist. "Oh, no you don't."
The Element of Kindness squeaked in surprise at the contact before the Tarchia based kaiju uttered a brief, telepathic shout to Mothra for aid. "Lucky's here! But he needs help! " Anguirus said in his head, hoping to the Realms of Tanaka that the Moth Goddess would respond.
"On my way! " he heard Mothra chime in his head, allowing for some sense of relief before the MUTO charged forward with an unholy scream.
"Crap!!" Anguirus yelped, swiftly tossing Fluttershy into the air before whirling around and bucking the charging kaiju square in the face.
The Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism snarled in pain as he was thrown back. Anguirus caught a falling Fluttershy with a confident smirk before he released her from his hold. Before the kaiju he had struck even got close to hitting the ground, a spiraling beam of atomic fire struck and threw him to the right, frying his entire right side.
The burnt, bleeding form of Lucky Dragon emerged from the flaming pile of rubble, tendrils of atomic smoke slithering from the corners of his maw as he canceled off his signature attack. The stallion peeled his lips back with a snarl to reveal ranks of serrated fangs imbedded in his maw as he trudged toward the MUTO with a cold-hearted hatred. The stallion placed a clawed hoof on his foe's flank, lifting the other over the kaiju convert's head with a growl.
The lightly built pegasus went without struggle, but only looked up at Lucky with pleading eyes.
Before Lucky could deal a finishing blow, the calm, chiming voice of Mothra interjected. "Lucky," she said to the God of Destruction in a soothing tone. The stallion felt a hoof on his shoulder and the warmth of a familiar ally. "It's over," the former moth said calmly.
The Kirin looked over his shoulder and into the eyes of a mint tree, almost white, mare with rainbow, butterfly wings, a jagged horn, and blue, twin layered eyes. Lucky lowered his hoof with an exhalation of blue, nuclear smoke. "Mosura," he muttered solemnly, moving away from the beaten and bruised form of the male MUTO. "Been a long time," he said. "You are taller than I remember seeing you last," the stallion noted.
"In the sense that I'm taller than you?" Mothra smiled softly, nudging his shoulder.
"Mm," he responded, looking over his shoulder and down at his adversary with a growing glare.
Mothra put a hoof to his cheek and gently turned his head to face her. "It's... over. He's in no condition to fight," she chided before noting his singed mane and fur, wounded hide, and disheveled beard. "I understand that you were wounded fighting him... But many more of these are older... Lucky, what happened to you? You look..." she cut herself short at his forced, tired smile.
"I'll be alright... Been worse. You remember SpaceGodzilla, right? He hurt me a lot worse than that bug could've," the stallion shrugged, turning away from her and limping away.
"Where are you going?" she asked in a motherly voice, electing not to tell Lucky anything about 'SpaceGodzilla' at the moment.
"Away... Trust me... It's probably better that you don't worry about me. I'll be fine once I heal up a bit," he acknowledged.
"Excuse me, Mister! You are not going anywhere in the condition that you're in now... Especially not without saying hello to the cousin that you haven't seen in years!" the changeling queen scolded, chasing him down and placing a firm hoof on his shoulder.
"Junior?" Lucky asked with a grimace, pushing her hoof off of his still smoking shoulder.
Anguirus walked up to the duo before Mothra could answer his question. "Indeed... Chief's at the capitol... Roman's here too, but he's out on an aid mission. Des-MPH!!"
Mothra had slapped a hoof over Anguirus's mouth with a cheeky grin. "We should go see Goji. He'll be wanting to see his cousin after all these years... RIGHT, Anguirus?" she said, speaking through clenched teeth as she spoke the last two words.
Lucky lifted a brow as the Guardian Beast pulled away from the moth kaiju. "Uh... Right," he said, mimicking her smile nervously.
"Mm. Okay," the Kirin stallion said as the trio turned to walk away, lead by Mothra. Exhaustion was rapidly catching up with the tens of thousand years old kaiju, his eyelids fluttering slightly as he took a shaky, straining step forward. With a pained groan, his eyes rolled into the back of his head and Lucky collapsed upon the dirt road.
He wasn't awake to hear the panicked voice of Mothra begging for him to wake up or feel the cart that carried him rolling down the road.
-Canterlot Medical Wing-
Lucky Dragon, the God of Destruction and Force of Nature, woke slowly and with a sore pain that jolted through his body and forced a grimace to his face. The Kirin stallion felt like he'd been hit by a train, a sentiment he assumed some understood, given a collection of three mares that wore thin white coats with red crosses on the shoulder patch and whom he recognized as Mothra, Anguirus, and two others who he was unable to recognize.
The stallion lifted a brow at the silence that had permeated through the room before he felt a stiffness around his waist. Looking down, Lucky noticed his chest and stomach cloaked in a solid white wrapping of some kind.
"It's a cast... It will help you to heal faster... You suffered a few broken ribs and a fractured shoulder blade," Mothra finally spoke, noticing the emotion of befuddlement crossing Lucky's scarred face. "You've been out like a light for about a week," she said.
He felt the pain from his battle like it had happened yesterday, in spite of his ally's words. "Mm," he murmured, sinking his head into the cushion beneath his skull before he glanced over at the forms of a large, charcoal grey unicorn stallion with a white mane, and a winged unicorn mare of a deep, navy blue with a regally flowing mane and tail. The stallion looked vaguely familiar, with a nasal ridge and short fangs poking out of his top jaw. "Who are they?" he asked, nodding at the two and lacking any amount of respect that one might expect towards a stranger.
The unicorn asymmetrically cocked an eyebrow, leaning down slightly to look the resting kaiju in the eye. "You know who I am, Lucky Dragon," he said softly.
"Junior," the Kirin exclaimed at the voice, a grimace visible twisting across his muzzle as he propped himself up onto his elbows. "Long time no see," he grunted.
"Final Wars, right?" the massive unicorn said with a soft smile.
"Yeah," Lucky muttered, his memory of the event playing through his head like a recording. Though not the event in which he earned his name, Final Wars was one that really showed people and kaiju alike that the Alpha Predator and Force of Nature was indeed a lucky dragon. "I heard about Solgell," the stallion said with a pained chuckle leaking from his throat. "Takes Dimension Tide to stop you and SpaceGodzilla from trying to kill each other, eh?"
Junior and Mothra shared a slightly saddened expression before Lucky lifted a brow.
"What?"
"SpaceGodzilla goes by the name of Xenilla now... Guess there was too much of Senior in the name that the humans gave him," Mothra said in a voice barely above a whisper.
"Typical," the bed-striken kaiju growled under his breath. "What he needs is a good dose of discipline... Maybe then SpaceGodzilla'll stop being an asshole and take others into consideration," he grumbled before thoughts trailed to the reason that he was in a hospital. "Where's the MUTO?"
"As is Equestrian customs, we had him healed and jailed," the blue mare that had previously hung back said, stepping forward. "You would've been too, without your relation to Goji," she explained as Mothra bit back the urge to correct the Kirin's use of Xen's old name.
Lucky lifted a brow and turned his head to face Junior. "Goji..?" A frown crossed his muzzle.
Princess Luna's muzzle felt hot as her face flushed red.
"Getting a bit comfortable in Ponyland, if you're telling the locals your nickname, eh, Chief? And, Mothra... I don't care WHAT they call that mutated alien lizard. As far as I'm concerned, his name is SpaceGodzilla and it's staying that way," the former kaiju grumbled.
"Aaaaawkward," Anguirus muttered with an eye-roll. If there was but one thing that one could say about Lucky Dragon, it was that he was a very by-the-book kaiju and in some way, shared a similar outlook on life as his bastardized cousin, SpaceGo-...er... Xenilla. Like Xen, he carried himself high to look down on others, and avoided as much nonsense as possible. It was advised that one didn't point these similarities out, though... if they valued their life. Unlike Xenilla, however, Lucky relaxed his stance around those he trusted and cared for, which were few considering his antisocial habits.
Nonetheless, it wasn't hard to tell that Lucky didn't like both SpaceGodzilla's new name, or Junior's relationship with the locals, being a very strict and even narrow-minded, kaiju.
At Anguirus's words, every pony in the room, with the exception of the hospitalized Lucky, shuffled a bit awkwardly in their positions, the nurses seeing themselves to the door as said kaiju's head sank back into the pillow and his muscles unwound. A wave of exhaustion slowly washed over the Kirin stallion as Luna trailed the medicinal mares until only kaiju remained in the room.
"Regardless of names, it is good to see you, Lucky," Junior finally assured him, a hoof on his cousin's shoulder with a smile.
Anguirus nodded and Mothra crouched beside the bed to give Lucky a slight wing hug before Godzilla rose to his hooves and held the door open for the other two kaiju. "Rest easy, old friend," the Guardian Beast of Fire said, putting a hoof to his chest in a kind of salute.
"Mm, thanks," Lucky murmured before his eyelids closed and he nodded off.
-Hours Later-
Fluttershy slowly nudged the Medical Wing door open, peering inside in hopes of finding the pony, namely kaiju, that she was looking for. Some may have called her crazy, others brave. She just wanted to lay to rest any suspicions she might have had for the Kirin and his kind...
That was why she brought the rest of the Mane Six to tag along with her... in case things went awry.
"Sooo... Why is this guy so important to you?" she heard Rainbow Dash ask in a voice barely above a whisper as she hovered above her friends.
"I... don't know... There's just something about him that you can put your faith into," the Element of Kindness acknowledged with a slight shrug.
"Well, just know, Darling. We're right behind you the whole way," Rarity assured the pegasus with an honest smile.
"Ah wouldn'ta come here if it weren't a friend or princess Ah was helping'," AppleJack agreed with a nod and grin.
"Thank you, girls... I really appreciate it," Fluttershy said in a whisper before she nudged her way inside the room and peered over at its tenant. Her friends followed her in as she came to the side of the bed with a stifled gasp and instantaneous worry.
"Good heavens!" Rarity exclaimed, jerking back slightly at the sight of a massive, heavily scarred Kirin stallion whose snores resonated within the room. It wasn't the scars that made her jump as much as it was his disheveled, grey streaked mane and rough, unkept beard. "Does he never shave?"
"Rarity..." Fluttershy whined slightly.
"My apologies, Dear... But why him? That big red kaiju's mane is more orderly than his!"
"Then do something with it," Pinkie Pie quipped with a giggle, bouncing over to the sleeping titan's side. "Style it! Make him look nice and neat!"
"I would... But I don't do that sort of thing without the clients consent," she acknowledged.
"Girls! Girls... We're not doing anything with this guy's mane!" Twilight Sparkle interjected. "I would worry more about his wounds first, don't you think?"
"He looks badass," Rainbow Dash interrupted, words coming out before she thought to stop them.
All others in attendance looked up at the Element of Loyalty with deadpan expressions.
"What? He does!"
Twilight was the first to speak. "He looks like he just came out of the crystal war after fighting in it for decades. He looks old, tired, and heavily wounded. I don't think 'badass' is the right word at the moment," she explained, her flat expression never faltering.
"Okay! Okay... Sheesh," Rainbow said with a shrug and wide eyes before acquainting her hooves with the tiled floor.
It was only then that they noticed the stallion in question had just begun to rouse from his rest, a groan echoing out from his muzzle as Lucky turned his head and leaned up slightly. When his blurred vision had cleared, he noticed himself surrounded on all sides by six mares. His expression was that of nanosecond shock before he lifted a scarred brow and trailed his eyes over horns, wings, and two earth ponies. One of the mares, in particular, he recognized.
Fluttershy ushered a nervous smile before a tiny wave followed. "Hi," she murmured.
The Kirin stallion grumbled something incoherent under his breath before responding. "What are you doing here?" he said flatly, sitting up with a wince and putting a clawed hoof to his waist.
"We came to cheer you up, silly!" the pink earth mare chirped, materializing from one side of the medical cot to the other.
Lucky's head jerked back as he withheld the urge to instinctively pull the benign aggressor's head off. "I don't need you to cheer me up," he grumbled. "I'm a kaiju. I've fought year long wars and survived parasitic monsters. I don't cheer up," the God of Destruction said in a gruff, foreboding voice.
"Of course you do! Everypony is entitled to some cheering up and joy in their life!" Pinkie Pie giggled.
For all his thousands of years of existence, Lucky Dragon was a kaiju classed under a group of monsters labeled as "Chaotic Neutral", not a hero, nor a villain, but a fierce and brutal foe. Joy was something that Lucky seldom felt, or had time to feel. He was a loner who heavily respected and followed the wisdom of his father, a noble kaiju who didn't feel joy... period. "Get out," Lucky finally grumbled, true to his antisocial habits.
Pinkie Pie stopped bouncing and Fluttershy's ears flopped against his head. "Oh... Okay," she whispered, turning to leave.
"What?! NO!" Twilight hollered, grabbing Fluttershy by the hoof and yanking her back into the room. "We came here to help you to feel better and that is exactly what's going to happen, Mister! Like it or not, Fluttershy mustered up the courage to help you and we are not being pushed away just because you're a grouch!" the alicorn snapped, her muzzle inches from the stallion's face.
Bold mare, this one, Lucky thought to himself with a slight smirk, the thought of showing her how he would have reacted, had she been a kaiju, not eluding him. Amber eyes rolled slightly before he nodded at Fluttershy and waved her over slightly.
The pegasus mare inched forward before Rarity whispered something in her ear. "Good luck." With that, she pushed the Element of Kindness forward, where she stumbled over her own hoof and fell into Lucky's arms.
The stallion uttered a sudden, painful growl and squeezed his eyes shut as the yellow pegasus leapt back, cheeks cherry red as she nervously backtracked. The growl, meant to be a threat or not, was not doing her racing pulse any favors.
"I'm sorry," she gasped at the look of pain twisting across his grizzled face, concern overriding fear and driving her towards the stallion.
Lucky lifted a clawed limb. "Don't worry about it," he said through clenched teeth.
Fluttershy moved forward, the rest of the Mane Six practically chomping at the bit with both worry and curiosity as the pegasus leaned forward and gently moved one of Lucky's clawed forelimbs away from his chest. "I just want to look at your chest," she whispered in a soothing manner, in spite of the pounding of her heart echoing in her ears.
With that, she diligently worked the clasp that kept the cast around his waist open, allowing for the thick white plaster to be carefully removed, though this ushered a grimace from the kaiju.
Lucky's tired eyes never strayed from the mare as she gazed at the wound and half expected his chest to be soaked with blood, as the inside of the cast had been. Instead, while his chest was indeed splotched with dried ichor, she saw that his wounds had nearly completely mended, wide scabs visible criss-crossing his midsection.
Surprise morphed across her face at the sight before she looked into Lucky's amber and yellow eyes. "You... seem fine," she said as he lifted her chin.
"Why do you insist on helping me?" the stallion asked, lifting a curious brow. "You treat a monster as if he's one of your own."
"Monster or not, I can tell that you're not a vile pony-"
"Even if excessively grumpy," Pinkie Pie laughed.
"I'm no pony," Lucky retorted as Fluttershy returned the cast to his waist after swabbing some of the dried blood clean from his chest and healing aid.
"Pony or not... You're not a vile being." With that, the Element of Kindness smiled warmly and stood back up. "Good luck," Fluttershy said before turning to leave the room, where her friends followed en suite. Twilight gently closed the door with a curtain of magic as she left, leaving the former kaiju to mull over his thoughts.
"That's why I'm called Lucky," he muttered to himself, closing his eyes.
Reunions and Nightmares
-Ponyville-
The Element of Kindness stopped dead in her tracks, almost bumping into the back of Godzilla's leg in the process. The heavily built kirin only stood almost lifelessly, staring down his opponent.
The opposing creature was a thin, and slightly mangy, Pegasus with long, pulsing red eyes that made her shudder. Its wings didn't help in making it look any friendlier. They were a glossy black, like its fur, and formed a triangular shape when unfolded, very similar to a fighter jet. It's mane and tail flickered and pulsed with growing static and its long arms tapered down to backwards facing claws that it wildly thrashed about, hissing and shrieking in displeasure at the sight of its opponent.
"What is THAT??" Fluttershy asked nervously, glancing up at the seemingly unresponsive kaiju stallion.
But respond, he eventually did. "A monster who would kill me just to lay its filthy eggs inside my radioactive carcass," he growled, eyes remaining locked onto the spluttering male MUTO.
"E-eggs?!" the Pegasus mare spluttered, wide eyed as Lucky Dragon inhaled a deep breath of air.
"You might want to plug your ears," he replied, letting loose a tremendous bellow from his maw.
-Canterlot-
Godzilla Junior lifted his skull at the sound of a distant bellow. A variety of backyard birds such as finches, mourning doves, and robins frantically flew in the opposite direction. Lowering his head back down, Junior spotted a plume of smoke rising from Ponyville. It was at that time that a panic stricken Rodan swooped above him. "Chief! The male MUTO is in Ponyville! Lucky is down there!"
At the name of his cousin's now favored name among his fellow kaiju, Junior's pupils constricted. The realization that Lucky would not be accustomed to being on all fours, and therefore lead to his possible death worried the former kaiju mightily. "Go tell Luna and the others!" he ordered, already galloping toward the burning city, his mane faintly humming with radiation.
-Ponyville-
The heavily built kirin lunged forward, slamming his jaws down on the male MUTO's glossy wing and feeling warm blood seep into his jaws. The Pegasus shrieked in pain, and despite its efforts, it couldn't break free of his vice grasp. Lucky Dragon swung around, throwing the mangy Pegasus into the air. The male MUTO spread his long wings, re-stabilizing his flight path before swooping back down toward the kirin, claws aimed for his throat.
Without warning, a spiny brown mass slammed into the Pegasus, quill-like protrusions shredding across glossy black fur with sparks and loud thunderclaps and throwing the MUTO into the dirt with a thud. Anguirus uncoiled, landing on all fours with a poof of road dust and a stern expression crossing his face.
Seriousness morphed into joy at the sight of Godzilla Junior's Earth-Defender cousin, recognizable by his deep green fur and black mane and tail. His Cutie Mark though, was the main giveaway.
"Anguirus, you spiky little ball of doom!" Lucky exclaimed with a grin, recognizing the quills in his tail and spiked gauntlets as what used to be rigid spines. "You are shorter than last we met," the tall kirin continued, giving the Earth-Pony a light punch to the shoulder.
"Can't say the same to you..." Anguirus replied. "Still on all fours though," he chuckled before a jet black Pegasus hurled into the deep green kirin stallion, throwing him off of his hooves and into a pile of burning rubble.
"Looks like his luck has run out!" the winged MUTO hissed in a ghostly voice, baring his teeth at Anguirus as he haphazardly struck the ground with a dust cloud. His red eyes flickered with hatred for every damn kaiju who ever tried to stop him from reproducing... Especially the one his enemies called Lucky.
"So has yours," Godzilla Junior's voice said with a stern confidence, advancing upon the parasitic stallion.
The male MUTO spat in fury, his eyes boiling and body temperature rocketing as he turned to face Lucky's cousin, Rodan, Mothra, and a deep blue alicorn clad in royal armor.
Before the kaiju Pegasus could do anything more, a searing pain pounded against his side, forcing the jet-winged creature down. The MUTO's nemesis, a heavily built kirin covered from head to tail in painful burns, bites, and scratches, let his atomic flame burn short, one last wisp of blue, radioactive smoke snaking from his flaring nostrils.
Godzilla Junior turned to face Monarch's primary target of study with a slight grin.
Lucky heaved for breath, teeth clenched, as the King of the Monsters same to his side. Wincing, the stallion splayed his legs to steady himself.
"We really could've used that on Solgell," Junior told him with a quiet chuckle.
"Busy chasing off these things," he coughed, wincing at his burns as he pointed at the unconscious male MUTO. His new fur was matted and in some spots, singed, revealing tender pink skin, his black mane was a tangled mess, covered, it was, with a fine layer of soot, and a painful pair of long gashes ran up the right side of his body. It didn't help any that he still wasn't used to the prospect of being on four feet, er, hooves, which lead to a great deal of cuts and bruises out of sheer clumsiness.
Lucky's eyelids dropped slightly, his joints and muscles weak with exhaustion.
Mothra rushed to his aid, breaking the stallion's fall with a gentle wing. "He needs a doctor, Junior," she told the crooked horned stallion. "Lucky doesn't have the healing capabilities that you do... Or we wouldn't even call him Lucky," the changeling stated.
"Agreed," Godzilla replied, watching Mothra as she gently wrapped the kirin stallion with her magic, lifting him into the air. Junior watched as Lucky slowly slipped from consciousness.
Princess Luna followed in the moth kaiju's actions, the burnt body of a glossy black Pegasus rising from the roadway, muscles still twitching and jerking with built up static.
Fluttershy walked alongside the group, gazing at the kirin with a soft smile etched across her muzzle. The name Lucky hung heavy at the forefront of her mind.
-Canterlot Medical Wing-
Lucky Dragon once again woke, this time noticing himself surrounded by friends and what he assumed were doctors by the red cross that they wore on thin white coats. Shifting his gaze down at a stiffness around his waist, the kaiju-convert noticed layers of white bandaging covering his belly. Lucky lifted a confused brow, unused to the treatment.
"It's a cast," Mothra assured the stallion, noticing the look of confusion crossing his scarred face. "It will help you to heal at a faster pace than normal.
"Oh," he muttered with a painful wince as he laid his head back onto the pillow. "What happened to the MUTO?" he proceeded with a coughed and a grimace, squeezing his eyes shut in pain.
"As is Equestrian customs, the Pegasus was healed and placed in prison until further notice. You would've been too, without your relation to Goji," Princess Luna acknowledged.
"Goji?" Lucky asked, propping himself up and turning to his cousin with a wide grin.
Luna grimaced and sucked in a breath.
"Awkwaaard," Anguirus muttered under his breath, rolling his violet eyes before a long pause in the conversation. Godzilla shifted his weight to his left side, putting some slack on his right.
"News of your arrival shouldn't spread yet," Mothra stated, breaking the period of silence. "Xenilla will know sooner than we want him to if this hits the press."
"Xenilla?" Lucky questioned.
"Oh, right... You didn't here. SpaceGodzilla goes by the name Xenilla now." Mothra explained. "Guess he thought that there was too much of Senior in the name."
"And we all know why this shouldn't reach THAT kaiju," Anguirus interjected with wide eyes.
Rodan shuddered, a look of disgust stretching across the gryphon's face. "Ugh... It was so freaking bloody!" he muttered to himself.
"I still have the scar to prove it!" Lucky agreed, lifting his chin to reveal a deep indent in his bottom jaw.
"I wasn't aware of that!" Mothra scolded, lifting a brow.
"Lele, you're too worrisome, sometimes. But yeah. Spaceslime thought that it would be funny to shove a crystal through my face. Miracle I survived," Lucky told the changeling, lifting a claw to the gash and rubbing it.
"That's one of the reasons that we call you Lucky," Junior chuckled. The event really was marvelous. For a kaiju without the healing abilities that he possessed, it was quite impressive that his cousin survived the ordeal.
"I don't feel so lucky right now, though," Lucky coughed, his eyelids dropping slightly.
"We should let him rest," Mothra told Junior, nudging his shoulder. The feeling Godzilla Senior's eldest son already knew about Lucky's arrival hung heavy on her mind.
-That Evening-
"AAW!! He's so CUTE!!" Pinkie Pie gushed, staring starry eyed at the dozing kirin. His soft snores resonated within the hospital room.
"SHH!" Rainbow Dash scolded, a hoof to her lips. "Ya don't wanna wake him?!"
"Yeah. He might be, gee, I dunno, DANGEROUS?" Rarity agreed, not overly enthusiastic about yet another kaiju having entered into Equestria.
"He's only dangerous when provoked," Fluttershy murmured, not receiving the bad vibes that the other Elements of Harmony were.
The kirin shifted on the hospital bed, his muscles jerking. Twilight Sparkle looked down at the stallion, concern etched across her face. "He's having a nightmare," she whispered, noticing the sweat on his forehead.
Suddenly, and quite unexpectedly, Lucky jerked up with a yell. "NOOO!" he shouted, heaving for breath before noticing the ponies at the foot of his bed. "AHH!" the kirin gasped in shock, jerking back. His breath raced his heavy, rapid heartbeat, and pupils the size of a water droplet.
Slowly, Fluttershy lifted a wet washcloth to his forehead, ignoring her friend's attempts to pull the Pegasus back. She could feel Lucky's heartbeat slow to a steady thump as a wisp of blue smoke rose from his snout. She smiled softly, reassuringly, as Lucky flinched.
"Lie back, the Element of Compassion whispered to him, laying a gentle hoof on the cast around his waist.
Twilight and the other four watched with a mix of awe and amazement as the kaiju rested his head against the pillow, his breath now a comfortable pace.
"Everything's gonna be okay, Bud," Fluttershy assured the kirin, a hoof to his arm.
"Please..." he murmured. "Call me Lucky."
"It's nice to meet you.. I'm Fluttershy," she replied, with a soft smile. Lucky cracked a slight grin, gazing into the mare's turquoise eyes.
There was a long silence to be heard.
"Alrighty, then!" Twilight Sparkle beamed, catching on to what was happening faster than the others. "We've go some work to do! Lucky's brawl with that Pegasus didn't go without damage!" The rest of the Mane Six groaned in unison. All but Fluttershy, who backed away from Lucky as he slipped into a sound sleep, a smile still etched across his face.
"Sweet Dreams, Lucky."
Doctor Ishiro Serizawa
-Zap Apple Orchards-
Doctor Ishiro Serizawa was confused and afraid, to put things mildly. He wasn't in San Fransisco, easy to tell by the lack of crushed buildings which were replaced by rows upon rows of apple trees as far as his eyes could see. He was also not human. The sensation of hooves instead of hands and feet, a mane and tail, and long muzzle made it easy to see that he was far from human, and this puzzled the scientist mightily... He was an equine.
Looking himself over, Ishiro noticed the color of his new fur to be a very light shade of yellow, almost white. His mane and tail were still dark brown, fortunately, and his green-grey jacket, he still possessed. Running a hoof through his short mane, the stallion felt a spiral column upon his head that tapered to a point... He was a unicorn equine.
Noticing his glasses to be missing, Serizawa checked his coat pocket, and to his relief, they were there. But they were cracked.
With a sigh, the scientist tossed his glasses aside and stumbled down a steep hill. Perhaps somebody could help him find a way out of this strange land? He didn't know, but there was only one way to find out.
-Elsewhere in Zap Apple Orchards-
Destroyah could've been having a better day than she was. Harvesting apples was not her specialty... Killing things with a flaming horn or her Micro-Oxygen Beam was. Several times the massive mare had been scolded for lopping branches off of trees with her horn in a fit of anger, and several times she didn't listen.
Thumping he hip against a thick tree trunk, Destroyah grumbled something about the ignorance of humanity under her breath before a loud rustle, thud, and pained yell rang in her ears.
Swiveling her head, the kaiju-convert cocked a brow and approached a series of rustling from a nearby bush. Probably those Cute-Mark watcha-ma-call-its , she thought to herself as she approached. It was then that she realized that the voice had a particularly masculine tone to it.
Slowly, she walked towards the hedge, he horn crackly lightly with building caution and suspense. She didn't know who the voice belonged to and didn't want to take any chances of it belonging to somebody like that stupid rocket turtle with the tusks on the Solgell Island chain.
To her surprise, though, out walked a medium sized unicorn with a grey-green jacket covered from head to hoof in short cuts and scrapes.
At the realization that there was no threat, Destroyah disappointedly let the crackle of her horn burn down to a barely noticeable hum, her dragonoid wings falling slightly.
"P-please h-help me," the pony stammered, not in fear, but lack of energy to do anything more.
Destroyah rolled her eyes and shifted her gaze back down.
"Please!" the stallion pleaded as she returned to her work. "I need to know where the nearest settlement is!" His voice had a peculiar accent, that of an Asian who spoke fluent english.
"That way, about half a mile," the red mare grumbled, shooting a hoof to her right.
"Thank you!" the pony smiled weakly, hobbling off towards the direction that she held her hoof.
What a wierdo.
-The Outskirts of Ponyville-
Doctor Ishiro Serizawa tripped over a hoof, nearly face-planting into the grass underneath him. Stumbling for a pace or two, he regained stability, seeing many different colored equines roaming the streets of a large town. The unicorn smiled weakly, hobbling as fast as he could to the nearest ponies, a large brown stallion with a messy mane and tail and thin green and tan mare with backwards sweeping antlers.
"Please help me. I am lost and need help to get home!" he begged the two.
"Sure, where do you live?" the thin mare asked with a slightly foreign accent.
"Japan," he replied, unaware that he was not even on Earth.
The stallion jerked up, nearly choking on a mouthful of tea. The earth-pony beat his chest with a hoof before finally speaking. "JAPAN?!" Anguirus bursted.
Serizawa nodded.
"You, my friend, are a long way from Japan. You're not even on Earth any more," the former kaiju replied, shaking his head with a chuckle.
Ishiro's eyes grew wide, his jaw slipping open as he processed the words. "Wh-where can I find h-help?" he spluttered in shock, a hoof to his forehead, his vision swimming.
Nopony was given the time to answer before the unicorn stallion fainted.
"Welp! That happened!" 'Quill Coat' exclaimed.
"Oh, hush," Ki Seong chided, her antlers humming with a golden aura before snaking towards the unconscious stallion. Suddenly, he sat straight up, nearly whacking his head off of the rim of the table. She proceeded to the strange pony, her voice soft and relaxed. "What is your name?"
"My name? OH! My name! I am Doctor Ishiro Serizawa," he replied, almost forgetting what a name was.
Anguirus jerked again. The name rang in his ears over and over again, and for some inexplicable reason, Lucky floated into his mind. The stallion shrugged it off as sheer coincidence and took another sip of chai tea.
Moments later, as Ki Seong helped Serizawa find his bearings, the stallion realized who they had been helping. "YOU'RE DOCTOR SERIZAWA!!" he blurted suddenly, leaping to his hooves. His chair fell with a loud clang.
"Yes, that has been established," the scientist agreed, lifting a confused brow.
"C'mon, Lucky will want to see you," the ankylosaur kaiju told him, grabbing his hoof and dragging Ishiro down the road. Ki Seong followed close behind, confusion visible across the kirin's muzzle.
"Who's Lucky?!" Serizawa asked as he was dragged, slightly irritated at the stallion's lack of manners.
-Canterlot Hospital-
The royal treatment... That's what the Force of Nature was experiencing. He held a warm, frothy drink in one claw and the comfort of friends in the other. With a sigh, the kaiju let his head sink into his pillows, ignoring the aches and pains in his body. Fluttershy had visited him earlier in the day to check over his wounds (with the permission of the nurse who had been nearly bitten by Lucky after she tried to check the wound beneath his cast).
A puff of blue smoke leaked from the kaiju's nostrils with each as he adjusted his position upon the bed. What have you gotten yourself into, Lucky? he thought to himself, grimacing as he gazed down at the bandages around his waist. The male MUTO had done quite a number on the kirin during their brawl. He was lucky it wasn't the female, or things could've gone so much worse.
Just as Lucky began to get comfortable, his door flew open and struck the wall with a loud slam. The kaiju jerked up, his lips curled back in a threatening growl as Anguirus entered the room, a bruised unicorn behind him.
"Anguirus?! What're you doing?!" Lucky barked, throwing off the medical blanket and reluctantly rising to his hooves with a painful wince.
"You know that guy that protected you from the military?" the earth stallion replied, stepping aside for the kirin to get a better look at the unicorn.
"Yeah, what of him?" he asked, gazing at the pony. The first thing he noticed was that the pony, a stallion, wore a stained green coat. His face was that of a somebody wise and old, with a sparse beard and mustache. His eyes were thin and gave the appearance of an Asian. His cutie mark was a small pocket watch with a triangular infinite sign backdrop... The Monarch logo. Lucky's eyes grew wide, shock etched across his muzzle.
The opposing unicorn circled the kirin, Lucky's eyes glued onto him. He stopped at the stallion's hip, lifting a hoof to his chin in thought as he gazed at the marking upon the kaiju's flank. Anguirus quietly watched in fascination as the pony walked to Lucky's front and stared into his his amber eyes.
"Gojira... Is it truly you?" he asked in a whisper, sitting on his haunches.
"My name is Lucky, and I know damn well who you are. You are the one they call Doctor Ishiro Serizawa," the Force of Nature said, his voice stern.
"Yes, of course. Lucky, I shall call you then," Serizawa said softly, a smile spreading across his face. "What great news it is to know that my livelihood has emerged victorious from battle," the scientist continued, a faint hint of Japanese audible in his tone.
"Not without a fair amount of wounds and a bit of a... transformation." Lucky's voice was, to Ishiro's surprise, not terribly deep or gruff. If anything, yes, it was deep, but also nice to hear and one that made him think of a protective being... one capable of restoring balance to nature.
"Indeed... You are still just as menacing as when I saw you last, though. Truly, the one dubbed 'King of the Monsters' must be proud of what he has accomplished?"
Lucky stifled back a chuckle. "Firstly, my cousin is the King of the Monsters. And secondly, I hardly see a reason to be proud after murdering and attempting to murder another being, regardless of the reason I chose to do so," the former kaiju replied.
"Cousin? There are more of you?" Doctor Serizawa asked, growing excited.
"Yeah. You can meet him if you decide to come to my court hearing, or whatever the heck these horses call it when some fancy person wielding a wood hammer blabs on about seemingly nothing."
"Why have you been put to trial, Goj-Lucky?" the scientist asked.
"For endangering innocents. The male MUTO never died, as I thought, and followed me hear to this new land. He arrived and we got into a fight... Also for domestic violence."
In the Court of a God
-Canterlot Celestial Court House-
The Force of Nature stood quietly in his position, his face bright red as a result of having scales for decades on end and then suddenly a thick coat of fur. Lucky yanked at the collar of the royal suit that had been gifted to him by his distant cousin, Godzilla Junior. The stallion's tongue lolled out of his mouth as he shifted uncomfortably at his booth, reluctantly listening as the judge lectured him about his battle.
"Lucky Dragon, please step forward," he heard the judge, Mayor Mare, order. Lucky blinked several times before stepping forth, flanked by a celestial guard. The kirin stallion rolled his eyes at the unicorn's nervous expression. He didn't understand the reason for the guard's angst, but found it irksome all the same.
Another guard stepped forward, holding a hardcover book in one hoof and raising the other. "Do you, Lucky Dragon, swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth?" the pony asked in a deep, accented voice.
"Uh... Yes?" the former kaiju replied, lifting a quizzical brow.
"Then please step onto the booth," the guard said, beckoning Lucky up to the stand beside the judge. His tone was firm, fearless, and the kirin found him an altogether respectful individual.
The stallion politely smiled at the guard and stepped up to the plate.
In that frame of time, a navy blue unicorn stallion came toward the stand, a stack of paper telekinetically following the equine as he approached. His mane was a creamy white, almost pale yellow, and a pair of similarly colored shoulder patches, did the stallion bear. His horn was one spike with one smaller spike on either side of the larger one. The unicorn's iris was red and the white of his eyes a faint yellow.
Lucky lifted a brow as the equine approached, his gaze shifting to his cousin and friend, Godzilla Junior and Mothra. The two exchanged wide eyed glances before turning back to the kirin. Lucky shrugged his shoulders in confusion.
"Lucky... So good to see you again," the stallion said, freezing the kaiju's muscles like ice. His pupils constricted and lips curled back in a sneer, a puff of blue smoke streaming from his maw.
"Y-you!" Lucky snarled, quaking with building rage.
His alien cousin smirked, leaning against the booth as Mayor Mare opened her mouth to speak. "Now then, I have been made aware of past conflict between the two of you. And if not for Equestria's belief in second chances, the you would not be in the same room... Do I make myself abundantly clear?" she asked, positioning the glasses on the bridge of her nose.
"Yes, your Honor," Xenilla acknowledged.
"Mister Dragon?" she proceeded.
It was several moments before Lucky could bring himself to speak, and even then his voice was low and threatening. "Yes."
"Good... Now then, proceed."
"Thank you, your Honor," the navy blue unicorn smirked, gazing at Lucky. The kirin resisted the urge to leap from his seat and throttle the bastard child of Godzilla Senior. Everypony who knew him well enough could see it in his eyes.
"Will Gojira be okay here?" Doctor Serizawa asked Godzilla Junior, staring starry eyed at the massive stallion.
"So long as my brother doesn't do anything to anger him. Besides, I wouldn't worry about Lucky. It's everybody in the room you should be concerned about," Junior replied, not taking his eyes off of Lucky.
"Agreed," Mothra interjected as Xenilla began to question Lucky.
"So, Lucky... Do you mind if I ask a few questions?" the alien kaiju asked, his mischievous smirk transitioning to something a bit less infuriating.
"Fine," Lucky growled, his muscles jerking every now and again.
"How long would you say you knew these creatures, the MUTOs?" Xenilla asked, his eyes scanning over a sheet of paper.
"All my life," Lucky grumbled reluctantly.
"Mm, okay. And why is it that your hatred towards them has blinded you to the point of fighting the male instead of protecting those in danger with it around?"
"Wait... WHAT?" Lucky scoffed, reeling back as he was blindsided by the question.
"You, by engaging the MUTO instead of being there to protect civilians, were irresponsible and reckless... Why is that?" Xenilla scolded, his smile disappearing.
"O-objection!" a shaky voice called out. Xenilla whipped his head around with a glare to see Fluttershy with her hoof up. His expression softened at the sight of the first being he met, but not enough to halt his rant completely.
"The court acknowledges," the judge addressed.
"He... He was trying to protect me," the Element of Kindness protested nervously, shrinking back as she spoke.
"That does not explain why he hates them so much!" the blue stallion barked in Lucky's face, a glare upon his face.
At this point, Lucky wasn't confused... He was angry. To treat an equine as caring as Fluttershy angered him almost more than the questions his alien cousin hurled at him. "You want to know why I hate them so much?! Huh?!! Because they MURDERED MY FAMILY!!" he finally roared, mane glowing faintly.
"Order! ORDER!!" Mayor Mare shouted with authority, her wooden mallet striking the platform with hollow claps that reverberated off of the court house walls.
"Order?! What order?! There IS no order with this-this BASTARD around!" Lucky snapped, smoke streaming from his jaws as he spoke. Scattered gasps at Lucky's swearing filled the room. The stallion's nostrils flared in his anger, and he threw open the booth gate before storming from the room, the slam of heavy doors of of the walls echoed within the chamber.
"I think that my point has been proven," Xenilla stated, internally chuckling at his wit.
"That you have, Ambassador... And while I don't particularly want to, I feel Mister Dragon can not be allowed to simply roam the streets of Ponyville. But perhaps somepony would look after him while he is under in-house arrest?" Mayor Mare said, looking among the crowd. Only one raised a hoof.
"I will," Fluttershy said, lifting her hoof up again.
"You? Are you sure? He is a kaiju (right, kaiju?) and you are merely-" Mayor Mare was cut off by Fluttershy's stern tone.
"Merely what?! I don't think (no offense Junior) that staying with his cousin is the smartest choice, and I know him best out of any Equestrian in this room!" she retorted. Godzilla Junior smiled. Never had he seen somebody so quick to take a kaiju into their care.
"Very well..."
-Canterlot Celestial CourtYard-
Lucky Dragon angrily paced back and forth, nostrils flaring and jaws billowing thermonuclear smoke. His mane hummed with building radioactivity, eyes glowing with a bright blue bioluminescence as he held back his radioactive breath. The heavily built kirin swiveled around, unleashing a blast of nuclear energy from his jaws that shredded through the courthouse fountain, breaking through it as if made of paper. Shards of quartz in the surrounding area were shot into the air before raining back down. The immediate area was a molten hole of rocky sludge that smoked and sizzled.
Lucky's jaws hung open, his mane flickering as he gasped for breath. Blue smoke slithered from his maw.
Facing the obliterated fountain, the kirin let himself fall to his haunches, his outburst replaying over and over in his mind. With a heavy sigh, the stallion heard the distant roll of thunder, only adding to his depressed state. Lucky's clawed hooves gouged the earth beneath him, creating a small hole as his thoughts wandered. What the hell have you gotten yourself into, Lucky, he thought to himself, a quiet, sad chuckle leaking from his throat.
His thoughts were interrupted by an unmistakable voice. "Lucky?" Fluttershy's voice queried softly, approaching his right flank with a worrisome expression.
The kirin shifted his gaze down to the pegasus mare. "Hi," he acknowledged as her view locked onto the smoldering crater that was once a courthouse fountain. "I didn't like the style of it," he addressed sarcastically, smiling to himself.
"That, or Xenilla pushed the wrong buttons," Fluttershy said, a soft smile on her face. Her smile slowly dissipated as the stallion let out a heavy sigh. "What is it? Does this have to do with... Your family?" she asked hesitantly, not wanting to upset the kaiju.
Lucky turned his head away from her, his ears falling flat.
"Oh...I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to upset you," Fluttershy said, taking a step back. "I-I need to go... I told them I wouldn't be long." With that, she turned to walk back to the courthouse.
"Wait," Lucky said suddenly, standing up and swiveling around.
Fluttershy stopped.
"It's not you... The things that SpaceSlime said just didn't help. He only made me feel farther from my parents than I thought possible... It really isn't you."
-Canterlot Celestial Courthouse-
Mayor Mare watched with a mix of curiosity and fear as a glossy black pegasus was dragged into the room by a heavy set of chains and three semi-brave guards. The pegasus was thin and covered in cuts, bruises, and bandaging. The stallion possessed long claws on his front limbs, as apposed to hooves, and his wings were long and featherless, rather like a fighter jet in profile. His eyes were no less confusing, long and red, they crackled with static as the creature struggled.
"Contain him!" Mayor Mare shouted, watching the pegasus fight against the guards with the remaining strength he possessed after his duel with the Force of Nature.
"Yes... RRGH... Your Honor!" one guard replied, yanking on the chain with all his might. The pegasus stallion collapsed to the floor... And ceased to struggle. He only lay there, heaving for breath and stretching his long black wings.
Getting a good look at them, Mayor Mare actually found the wings quite beautiful, unlike the staticky eyes and sharp claws.
One of the guards leaned down to yank the pegasus to his feet.
"Let him rest for a moment!" she ordered, lifting a hoof as the pony outstretched his talons and slowly rose to his claws. It was then that she noticed his beak like jaws. An overall very strange pegasus indeed.
The male MUTO looked up at the judge with a confused expression. As he was accustomed to hatred toward him, this new attitude was an overall unfamiliar one to him, and it puzzled the MUTO mightily. "Why?" the stallion asked in a rough, but relatively high pitched voice (for a stallion).
"Because I need information and throwing you around is no way to receive any," Mayor Mare replied, proudly lifting her chin.

-Fluttershy's Cottage, Ponyville-
Lucky Dragon gazed up at the building with a sigh, adjusting his cousins suit slung over his shoulder. Junior had insisted he keep it for when he needed it most... against his better judgment.
Lucky skeptically shook his head before noticing that the door he had broken down a mere week ago had been repaired and repainted. The stallion chuckled quietly to himself, only to receive a quick jab to the shoulder.
The kirin whipped around and slammed his jaws shut inches from the police officer's face. The mare reeled back with horror as Lucky pulled away, a grin on his face. "Keep that in mind the next time you try pushing around a kaiju," he sneered, swinging back around and approaching Fluttershy's cottage.
"S-sorry," the officer stammered, a bead of sweat upon her brow.
"It's fine... You're not the first," Lucky replied, swiveling his head to look at the police mare. The stallion snickered at her terrified expression.
-Minutes Later-
Lucky looked down at the bright red door, confusion etched across his face. "Uuh... Open? Sesame?" he said disbelievingly.
The police officer rolled her eyes and tapped a hoof, taking a quick glance at her watch. "Try knocking," she groaned, rolling her eyes.
"Hey, don't you have a donut shop to be at?!" Lucky barked back, lifting a clawed forelimb to the door.
The mare fell silent as the stallion struck the door several times with his hoof (?).
"I'll be right there!" he heard through the door. With that, he watched the door swing open to reveal a disheveled Fluttershy before him, her mane a mess (a result of a bird trying to make a nest of it), and wings drooped. "Lucky!" she exclaimed, her wings lifting to attention.
"Hi," he said, lifting a slightly disgusted lip.
"Sorry," she grimaced, pushing her mane out of her face. "Bird care... C'mon in," she continued, beckoning the stallion inside with a smile. "Thank you, Ma'am," she proceeded to the police mare.
"Mm," she grumbled, turning to her police vehicle.
As soon as she was out of sight, Fluttershy gently closed the door, a soft sigh escaping her throat. Turning to her guest, the muscularly built kirin stallion, she spotted him treading around the living room, his eyes roving over the area and its inhabitants. She watched as Lucky approached a miniature house that hung from the ceiling. The pegasus chuckled as a small red capped woodpecker popped its small head from the circular entrance, momentarily startling the stallion. The woodpecker chirped and blinked its blue eyes at Lucky before retreating to its safe house. Lucky smiled and looked down at a plush sensation against his leg. A small rabbit rubbed its chin on the stallion's leg, a happy smile upon its face.
"Angel," Fluttershy cooed, approaching Lucky to lift the rabbit. The lagomorph hopped into her arms and buried itself in her mane. "Sorry, Lucky... He's not normally this affectionate with guests," she explained.
"Meh... No big deal... I feel like I would remember this little guy anyway? Unless I hit my head too hard," the Alpha Predator replied, a claw to his chin in thought.
"You wouldn't. I had all of the animals go outside while I tended to your injuries," the pegasus mare said, softly stroking Angel's head. "It would seem that Angel doesn't mind you much," she giggled as the bunny hopped to Lucky's downy shoulder.
"ALL... of the animals?" Lucky asked, lifting a brow.
"Yep, hope you don't mind... Oh... I should've told you before now... I'm sorry, Big Guy," the Element of Kindness said with an almost guilty expression.
"No, it's fine. As long as all of the others are like Angel, we shouldn't have any problems," he smiled.
-Moments Later-
As it turned out, all of the other animals were NOT like Angel Bunny... In fact, the bear cub Fluttershy was taking care of nearly keeled over at the sight of Lucky, and instinctually tried to fend off the "intruder" from the house. That issue was quickly put to rest by Fluttershy's "stare." Unfortunately, when Lucky tried to be friendly to her cockatoo and smiled, the darn thing pecked his forehead. The mice scurried to their holes, the hedgehogs to their burrows, and every bird but the stubborn cockatoo and red capped woodpecker rocketed to their houses.
Lucky slumped himself down on the couch, an icepack to his forehead. With a grimace, the stallion lifted it to see the crimson of blood upon the protective cloth covering the pack itself. "Stupid bird," he grumbled, tossing the icepack to the cushion beside him.
Fluttershy lifted the pack and took a seat beside him, a metal tray with a glass kettle and two tea cups of the same style in her hooves. "Sorry about Harley... He's not a very sociable bird most of the time," she told the stallion, with an apologetic grimace pouring a steaming drink into both cups. "One or two sugars?"
"Hmm? I don't know... I don't usually drink anything... Whatever you have, I guess," Lucky acknowledged, shrugging his shoulders as he sat up.
Fluttershy smiled, dropping three small cubes of packed sugar into a glass and handing it to him.
The stallion smiled back, watching the sugar dissolve before taking taking a gulp of tea. Steam rose from his nostrils as he swallowed, his cheeks tinged scarlet.
Fluttershy giggled as Lucky carefully placed his tea upon a coaster, disgust visible upon his face. Her ears then fell flat, mind wandering. "Hey... Uh... Do you mind if I ask you something a bit... personal?" she asked, biting her lip.
Lucky's expression deadpanned as he snapped his head up. "I'd rather save the personal questions until I knew you a little bit better..." At her words, his thoughts shifted to the only thing personal he could think of; his parents. "Not to be rude," he replied softly, his gaze dropping to the coffee table before him.
"It's only about your cutie-"
"I said not now," he barked again, his voice gruff and hostile. The stallion was quick to rise to his hooves, ready to leave the room.
The Element of Kindness recoiled at the words, sadly shifting her view to her lap.
The kaiju convert looked down at the pegasus, his expression softening. Lucky sorrowfully shook his head with a sigh. "I am not overly fond of discussing personal matters... But I apologize for snapping at you. Go ahead with your question," he told Fluttershy, returning to his seat.
-Train to the Crystal Empire-
Blade Dancer looked over at the navy blue unicorn stallion, a sigh escaping her throat. While the guardsmare had grown fond of Xenilla, she was also skeptical about some of his actions. He either didn't care about family, or had a funny way of showing it, for she had heard that the one his friends called Lucky was related to both Junior and Xen. "Don't you think you were a little harsh to your cousin back in court?" Blade Dancer asked, lifting a brow.
A soft sigh escaped the stallion's throat. "You confuse modesty with harshness," Xenilla replied, not taking his eyes off of the desolate wasteland of snow and ice outside. "I merely addressed Mister Dragon's actions... If I hadn't, who would've? He needed to be held accountable."
"You two are related! Why do you continue to push away family, Xen? He just showed up here... He's confused and doesn't know that there are laws even for kaiju now..." Blade Dancer scolded, rising from her seat upon the train and taking a seat across from the unicorn.
"I don't push him away... I get pushed away," Xenilla said. Noticing her skeptical expression, he continued. "You don't think that I ever try to be the brother that Junior would like, do you?" the unicorn asked, an almost depressed expression upon his face. "This world is capable of many things... Do you not think it possesses the ability to change one's ways?"
The pegasus mare felt confused, sympathetic, and irritated all at the same time. She had long realized that Xenilla had that kind of effect on one's emotions. "The way you spoke to your cousin was not very supportive... It was almost like you were trying to make him explode like he did... You say you try to be the brother Junior would like... But Junior is not the one you hurt hours ago... It was your cousin. I don't think you try to be the cousin Lucky would like you to be," she said, taking his hoof in her own.
Xenilla sighed again, dropping his view to her hoof. "We never got along very well. Being the eldest of the three of us by over seven hundred years, Lucky thought he was also responsible for us... And when we got in a fight about the time I nearly killed Junior, I nearly killed him too... I thought that by treating him the way I did in the courthouse, I could prove that he was really not as powerful as he likes to think," the stallion explained.
Blade Dancer lifted a hoof to her face, a worried expression crossing her muzzle. This information that Xenilla shared with her changed her view of the kaiju altogether.
There was a long silence before either pony spoke... And it was Blade Dancer who broke that silence. "Thank you for telling me," she murmured, leaning over the table and putting her arms around his neck in an awkward hug.
-Fluttershy's Cottage, Ponyville-
"So... Your Cutie-Mark... What is it?" Fluttershy asked Lucky, pointing at the stallion's hip.
Lucky looked down, confusion etched across his muzzle at the symbol on his flank. "Hmm... Not sure. But I know I've seen that in certain areas... Oh. I know now. That's supposed to symbolize radiation," he replied, tapping the small yellow symbol encased in blue. "The blue, I think, is supposed to symbolize the color of my spines?"
"Radiation?" the Element of Kindness queried, lifting a brow.
"It's a source of energy... and war... on Terra. It's a poison that eradicates any smaller sources of life in the immediate area that it has struck. Those who survive are usually disease-" the stallion stopped as if he didn't want to dredge up any other bad memories.
"We can stop if you would like?" the pegasus mare said, placing a hoof on his leg.
"It's too late for that. I've already started..." Lucky replied with a forced smile. "Anyway, radiation, which shouldn't come as a surprise, is my main source of energy... Without it... I'll die," he continued.
Fluttershy allowed a worried expression to morph across her face, a hoof to her muzzle.
Noticing this, Lucky shrugged; "I can survive years without it, you don't need to worry." With that, a smile crossed his scarred muzzle.
"Oh, okay," Fluttershy replied with a heavy sigh of relief. Her mind, not for the last time, wandered towards Lucky's court trial, in which he was confronted about the MUTO, as he had called it. The Element of Kindness remembered what he had said about a "they" killing his parents, when she had only seen one. "Lucky, I know that you don't want to talk about your parents... But maybe if you do, it'll take some weight off of your chest," she suggested, readying herself for another outburst.
Lucky only sighed, his gaze falling to the floor. There sat Angel Bunny, eyes wide with curiosity and muscles not moving a millimeter. The stallion smiled slightly, patting the arm of the pink sofa. On cue, the rabbit leapt onto it before proceeding to his mane. "Okay," he said finally. "I'll tell you just this once."
"Yay," Fluttershy whispered, scooting closer to the kirin with inquisitive eyes.
The former kaiju sighed again, his thoughts roving through seemingly ancient memories. "My mother was the protective parent, always trying to push me away from danger. She was comforting, but at times over-protective, but always with me when there was trouble." Lucky paused, looking up as if his memories were above him.
"What about your father?"
"He was that kind of father you can always trust in. My father taught me how to survive, how to fight. Everything. He had a long scar over his right eye and could win a battle with just intimidation. If you thought my roar was loud was loud, you haven't heard anything," he chuckled sadly. "His roar could've shattered boulders." Lucky stopped, lifting a clawed limb to his eye. The stallion's lip shuddered slightly. "Before I lost my family, I hadn't realized how happy I was with them," he sniffled, uncomfortably shifting his position.
Fluttershy sadly looked up at Lucky and lifted a hoof to his cheek, an abrupt feeling sweeping over the pegasus mare... It was a feeling that she rarely experienced, except when she was in the midst of friends and family... This kaiju kirin, who had seemed so rigid and serious or angry, was showing emotion, sorrow and joy... She realized that she had feelings beyond just friendship for the one they called the Alpha Predator... Love.
