Chapter 1: The Day the Invasion Began

“What is it?” one sailor asked as he stared at the strange creature. The creature was some kind of orange weasel animal with two tails. Even stranger is that this creature is an anthropomorphic creature. A being with a humanoid body. It’s clothes are especially weird. As they look like some kind of flight suit with gadgets attached that aren’t even on this world yet. Buck, Thunder, Washington, and a medic run up to the scene.

“Sir, what is that thing?” the sailor asked his superior.

“That is what we intend to find out sailor.” Buck said, “Doc get this thing to the medbay. It’s still alive, so maybe it will wake up and we can learn from it.”

The creature heard the commotion. It slowly opens it’s eyes…

“It’s waking up!” another sailor announced.

The creature opened its eyes all the way and laid eyes with the gathered crew members of the Starswirl.

“AHHHH!” screamed the creature.

“AHHHH!” screamed the crew members.

This screaming match continued as the doctor shook his and prepared a syringe full of a sedative. Which he promptly injected into the creature, which in turn knocked the creature unconscious within a matter of seconds.

“Doc, how did you know that would work?” Washington asked.

“I didn’t…” the doctor said, “Anyway it can be transported to the medical bay now.”

And with that the doctor went back to his station.

The Starswirl left the immediate area, just as the Masamune arrived. Finding nothing of interest. Tsunami assumed the Equestrian forces had arrived first and already took what fell at that location.

“The Equestrians must have already been here.” a sailor said, “Nothing is on the sonar.”

“Keep looking!” Tsunami exclaimed, “I will not have those honorless Equestrians use whatever it was against us!”

“Sir! Something just appeared on the sonar!” Tsunami walked over to the sailor in charge of the sonar. Indeed something was on their sonar. Something deep below the ocean’s surface.

“Send a dive team down to get it!” Tsunami ordered his men.

“But it’s too far deep for a diving team to reach it, Sir!”

Tsunami turned to the sailor, “Then call in a submarine to retrieve it! I must have it!”

It took hours for a submarine with a equipped dive team to make the retrieve of the object happen, but the expert divers DID get it to the surface. What was found were the remains of the creature’s own starship. A reconnaisse scouting ship. Whose sole purpose was to scout out certain areas of outer space for the enemy. Yet that wasn’t the only thing to appear on the Masamune’s sonar. While everyone on board was distracted by this new discovery. Several more objects appeared on the sonar. All heading their way…

The creature slowly aroused from its sleep in the med bay. It let out a moan as it opened it’s eyes once more.

“Where am I?” he said. Yes it’s a male.

“Finally awake I see.” came the voice of the doctor. The man was pale with salt and pepper hair, with red skin. “My name is Doctor Duck Mallard, you’re onboard the Equestria Military Ship Starswirl. You seem to understand our language, yet you are not of this world. I would ask why later, but first tell me your name.”

“My name is Jacob Rivers. I’m a Buizel Pokemorph and crowned prince of the Interplanetary Kingdom of Tidus-Aurora. I was on a scouting mission when an intergalactic empire known as the Vulcan Sol attacked me. I believe they followed my scout ship to this planet.”

“I’ll go get Captain Buck. He will need to hear all of this from you. Especially how you know our language.”

When Captain Buck entered the med bay, he did so with Thunder and Washington. Jacob explained as much as he could about the Pokemorph race, from their origins as Pokemon to their deities such as Arceus. It was fascinating to hear all of this information. Then it came to explain the war between Tidus-Aurora and Vulcan Sol. All four men found it fascinating and horrifying at the same time. When the story was over, the three men excused themselves from Mallard and Jacob. They walked into the hallway to converse among themselves.

“Are we going to take Jacob at his word?” Thunder asked Buck.

“Well we don’t have much to go on right now.” Buck replied, “We should go back to the location and try to raise his ship out of the water. Then see if we can get it repaired and send Jacob on his way home. We don’t stand a chance against advanced extraterrestrial technology.”

A sailor from the communications section walks up to the three men, and hands Buck a recently translated and confirmed message from Admiral High Tide on the island of Pon’i. It read:

We just received word that communications are down on the Masamune. This comes straight from Neighponese command. I know we’re at war with them, but it has been twenty-four hours since they reported reaching the meteor crash site. This may be a trap. So exercise caution when investigating what happened with the Masamune.

Signed,
Admiral High Tide

“The Admiral is bullshitting us isn’t he Buck?” Thunder asked with concern. In fact all three are concerned with this matter. For the enemy to ask for the aid of their enemies like that, without it being a trap. Is basically unheard of in warfare since ever. The only thought was that it is a trap and they’re going to get ambushed. However, Buck decided to ask Jacob about this situation. He needed his input.

“Well if this Masamune ship of your enemy has lost all contact with it’s own nation. Then I say it might be worth investigating. However, since the last place they were in contact with the Neighponese Empire was at the location where you found me. Then it is safe to assume that the Vulcan Sol has found them. So we must make haste. There is no telling what would happen to the men on the Masamune, if the Vulcan Sol has captured them.”

It was decided to go and investigate what happened to the crew of the Masamune. It wouldn’t take very long to head back to the crash’s location. So the Starswirl made haste, going full speed to reach the Masamune.

Upon reaching the site of the Masamune. The entire ship was ordered to run silent. All lights had to be turned off, and all crew members had to remain silent at their battle stations. As to why, well the crew noticed that the starships of the Vulcan Sol, can also float on water. Which they were doing as they surrounded the Masamune. Jacob was called up to the bridge to see what they were dealing with, and how to enter without being detected.

“Well we won’t be able to just barge through that blockade they set up.” Jacob said, “Maybe we can send a small detachment to swim past undetected? No that won’t do…”

“Well?” Buck asked Jacob.

“We’re going to need a distraction.” Jacob said, “Something to divert their attention. So we can slip in while the chaos keeps them occupied.”

Buck smirked. “I think I have something I can do about that.”

Also on the Great Sea is the aircraft carrier, the Nemo. On it are over a dozen P-51 Mustang fighter planes of the 107th Fighter Group. The best the Navy has for dogfights. Buck made a call to their Captain.

“I wouldn’t have called you, if we didn’t need the distraction, Tidal Wave.” Buck said over the radio.

“Let me get this straight.” Tidal Wave said, “You want the 107th to provide a distraction to an advanced extraterrestrial civilization, so you can send a small group into free the crew of the Masamune?”

“Yep that sounds about right.”

“How can I refuse. A assload of birds will be heading your way.”

Jacob glared at Buck. “For a moderate civilization like your planet. You actually use live birds in combat?”

“No that is what we call our propeller fighter planes.”

“Makes sense…”

“You’re sure you can fight with us?” Buck asked, “ We did just pull you out of the water a few hours ago.”

“I only received some scrapes and bruises. Your Doctor Mallard is very good at medicine. Even though doesn’t understand Pokemorph biology.”

“Well the X-Rays he took of your body showed that your insides isn’t that different from our own.”

“True enough…”

It was only a ten minute wait for the sound of propellers was heard in the sky. It was now dark at only midnight. Buck, Washington, Jacob and a couple Marines named Fire Light, and Swampy were ready to go. Each wore a helmet to protect their heads from bullets and debris hitting them in their skulls. Each had a Thompson submachine gun with only five magazines per person. As it is smaller than the M1 Garand rifles normally carried by soldiers. Along with some hand grenades, a revolver pistol in case they needed another gun, and a combat knife.

The five were closing in on their raft, as the fighter planes of the 107th arrived and opened fired on the Vulcan Sol ships. As Jacob expected the planes bullets had trouble penetrating the ships’ armor and shields. The distraction worked perfectly when the ships returned fire on the planes. The raft finally reached the Masamune, and Buck found the rope tied to the anchor, which they could use to climb up onto the ship. Jacob took point and climbed up first. Once on the deck he hid himself and searched the immediate area. No one in sight… So he signaled for the others to climb up.

“Alright it’s clear.” Jacob said, “Let’s go before the guards spot us.”

With that the team enters the ship to find the crew and retake the vessel.
