High-schooler Christopher Middelshire -better known as Chris- and his friends Terrance, Rina, and Harry would go to school everyday with John Radderson and Kurt Smith. They still go, despite the fact that John and Kurt were both turned into anthropomorphic versions of cartoon ponies from the TV show called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic; Twilight and Applejack, respectively.
So they went to school, received a couple of weird looks, got called into the principal's office, collected a shark's tooth, confront a bully and somehow hadn't had a visit from a government agency. To his knowledge, anyway. Needless to say, they'd had a crazy last couple of days.
And his life was about to get even crazier.
Chris had just gotten back home from school and was ready to unwind from the day's events by taking a nice long shower (he felt that he REALLY needed one) and going on his computer to kill some time.
But first, before he did anything else, he was hungry. So a snack was needed.
He headed towards the pantry for a nice bag of generic brand chips (Sour Cream and Onion being his fave). As he opened the door and started looking around, he couldn't seem to find any. So he did what any sane person his age would do: ask his mother.
“Hey Mom? I can't find the chips. I know you got some recently!” he said, calling out for her. “Mom?” he asked, hoping for a response
He waited, and got no reply.
“Strange. Hmm, maybe she's out shopping. Yeah, that must be it.” He said to himself. More to reassure himself that she's fine than anything.
“But still, she would've left a note. I should probably go look for that.” ignoring his hunger, he decided to search for the note that may or may not be there.
After spending a half-hour searching for the note left by his mother with no results, he decided to give up, wait for her return and ask her where she's been then.
“She's fine. She always comes back fine... right? he thought to himself. Sighing, he went downstairs to his room, turned on his computer and saw that he'd received two email notifications. Checking his inbox he saw two messages waiting patiently for him to open. One from his mom (which he was relieved to see, and confirming she was alright) and one from an unnamed user.
While he wouldn't usually click on suspicious emails, something drew him oward this one. Clicking on the mysterious email, a bright blue glow started to come from the computer's screen, temporarily blinding Chis and forcing him to cover his eyes with his hands to prevent himself from possibly going permanently blind.
After the light from the computer dampened to a tolerable level, he reopened his eyes. Then he did see a picture of a white cloud with a lighting bolt colored -in rainbow colours- on his computer screen.
“That was... weird.” Chris said, with a hint of suspicion in his voice as he closed the email. “Whatever it was, it's done now.”
Little did he know that a set of changes was beginning to happen all across his body. Starting with tiny blue hairs growing on his legs, slowly creeping up his entire body. But to Chris it just felt like a small itch around his ankles -which he got frequently- so he ignored it, deciding it was nothing.
Regardless, he proceeded to gather the things necessary for a shower. After getting the required clothing (a white shirt, a pair of underwear, and a pair of black sweatpants) and a towel, he stepped into the bathroom. But before he could even finish removing his pants, he noticed that both of his legs were covered in cyan fur. Thinking he wass just seeing things, Chris rubbed his eyes and looked again, just to be sure.
“Yup. That's... fur, alright.” he said, with a suspicious -and somewhat nerous- tone. The fur looked and felt real, as if it belonged to some... unknown animal.
The strange symbol from the computer, a white cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt appeared on his outer thighs as if it were meant to be there. It blended into the cyan fur nicely, oddly steaming briefly, as if he'd just been branded.

“Meh, could be about 20% cooler.” he said, unintentionally making a reference to a show he'd never watched, from a character he never knew about: Rainbow Dash herself.
Next, his hair started getting longer and different strands of it appeared to develop into red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet; the traditional colors of the visible light spectrum. Better known as the rainbow. With the feeling of a tug on his tailbone, a similarly colored tail burst from his backside, swishing back and forth.
“I-i guess that's what the rainbow portion of the name means. Hehe...” He nervously said, understandably startled by the tail’s sudden appearance, his voice slipping in and out of tone as his vocal cords were getting recalibrated..
As soon as his new hair and tail grew in, his face was covered in the same cyan fur as his legs. His eye color shifted to a bright magenta and his eyes enlarged as his face elongated into an equine muzzle, his teeth shifting into that of the equine/human hybrid he was becoming. His eyelashes also elongated, becoming more full.
After that, his feet clenched, shifting into hooves. His chest ached as his breasts enlarged somewhat. They weren't that big, only a C-cup or so, not that he'd be any judge, but compared to how he'd looked before, they were huge!
As the changes continued, much of Chris' fat reserves burned away to fuel the transformation, leaving him with a much more slim and athletic, yet feminine frame. His muscles were fit to burst with new-found strength and energy, making him feel like he could run laps around the city and then some!
Within him, his whole system changed, male organs shifting to female ones, his penis exchanging for a feminine snatch cementing the change.
Then he- SHE felt something else begin to grow inside of her. Like a second heart, but different. Electricity briefly crackled in the area, splashing against (yet oddly not burning) the walls.
A pair of cyan pony ears appeared on her head, twitching in response to every sound in the room. Eventually, a pair of similarly coloured feathery wings sprouted from her back as the final changes left Chris standing in the bathroom, completely changed, to the point of being unrecognizable. When she looked in the bathroom mirror, the reflection of the new anthropomorphic Rainbow Dash stared back at her.
Thoughts of speed, competition and adrenaline started flowing through her mind. Thoughts of being trustworthy, protective, stubborn and more; all of the traits that made Rainbow Dash Rainbow Dash.
“Oh man... this is so awesome!” 'Rainbow Dash' flapped her new wings experimentally as she admired her new rainbow mane in the mirror. "A shower can wait! I have GOT to tell Ashley and Twilight about this!"
Quickly reapplying some clothing, she grabbed her phone and opened her contacts, selected 'Ashley J Smith' and started texting, explaining in grate detail about what just happened to her. But before she could finish, her battery died.
"Tch. Figures. Oh well, I guess I'll meet up with them in person."
Putting on somewhat smaller clothes and snagging her wallet, also leaving a note for her parents, Chris dashed out of the house. Spreading her wings wide, she charged energy into her hooves and leaped, speeding off into the air at a rate that man could only dream of.
"YAHOO!"
I was zooming through the air in an instant. I'd never gone this fast before. Not in a car, not on a plane, never!
"WOO HOOOO!!!!" I exclaimed in pure delight. The speed! The adrenaline! The wind rushing by my face! It was AMAZING!!!!! I'd never felt more alive in my life! Yeah, THIS is what it's aaaall about! If this came at the cost of my gender, i say shut up and take my Y chromosome! Take it and pluck it!
I started to do tricks in the air. Simple ones at first -spins, barrel rolls. flips, you know- but soon enough i started doing more advanced tricks. Loop-the-loop, aileron roll, Herbst maneuver, Kulbit, and on and on! I could go on all day! I don't think i wanted to return to the land! Ever!
I saw a nearby cloud and felt another idea pop into my head.
On impulse i flew over to it and... touched down upon it.
And Oh, Celestia! This -though a touch cool- was more comfortable than any bed i'd ever slept on. I decided to lie down , on that note. The cloud continuously rippled under my weight, lightly massaging me. If i was getting encouraged to stay in the clouds... well, it was working.
As fun as it was, i had to look for my friends. No point showing off if there's nobody -or more accurately, nopony- to show off TO, right?
I took off again, flying a little lower and relatively slower, scanning the ground at about mach 0.5. Sure enough, there they were in a nearby park. i brought myself into an easy spiral, eventually landing on a nearby table.
"WHOO! Now THAT was exhilarating!" i extolled as my friends looked on, surprised by my arrival.
"Well, well." Rarity said, "Nice of you to... drop in." she quipped.
"I couldn't resist, Once i transformed, i just.... felt the need to fly, To soar through the air at top speed."
"And you did, at that." Twilight said, dryly.
And these abilities are AWESOME! I flew faster than any jet, i could land on clouds... I get the feeling that there's more." I carried on.
"We were discussing future plans, so it's best that you're here, anyway." Twilight said.
I got off the table and sat down instead. "I was all wings before. I'm all ears now."
