Across The Pond

The boat carrying Twilight and three of her friends sped towards one of the smaller ships around the Thalmor's large behemoth of a vessel. Though the ships were smaller they were just as big as the Empire's ships so ramming into them was out of the question.

As they moved across the water the other three ships got the message and moved to do the same.

The sailor controlling the ship moved it towards the gap between the Thalmor's massive ship and one of the smaller ones. The area between the two Thalmor ships was very small. It was just enough for their ship to get between but it caused scratching along side of the ship. The two decks of the Thalmor's smaller ship and the Empire's ship were right next to each other. The decks of the ships were level. For a moment the Thalmor and the Empire's sailors looked at each other. Then a spell from a Thalmor agent signified the start of the the fight.

The first spell was a fireball. It flew by, narrowly missing Twilight Sparkle's head, and instead finding it's place at the base of the center mast of the boat.

Twilight blinked in shock for a moment before Rainbow Dash yelled out "is that the best you got?"

The sailors ran over at the Thalmor. They quickly jumped over the side railing and onto the Thalmor's ship. The canons below deck wouldn't do much beyond damaging their own ships from the close proximity but this didn't stop Pinkie Pie from dragging a few canons up from below deck.

Twilight's horn lit up. She had been so shaken up at what happened in the Arena but her talk with Applejack below deck when they were moving the canon balls below deck had convinced her that, even if it felt wrong, if she wanted to see home, spike, her brother, Princess Celestia or anypony she loved again she had to do what she had to do. She could feel bad about it later but allowing her to mentally beat herself up over something that saved her life will only cause unnecessary grief. Though Twilight was determined to seek a mental counselor when she was back in Equestria. She knew the images of what happened at the Arena would haunt her dreams for a long time to come and she only hoped it would get much worse with this battle.

Twilight's horn sent a bolt of ice flying. It was thin, and somewhat sharp. The icicle flew through the air and hit the hand of a Blade. It wasn't moving fast enough to sink into skin but the sudden shock was enough for the Blade to drop his sword. The Thalmor in front of him raised his sword at the now defenseless Blade and brought it down.

However before the sword found it's mark an arrow flew past Twilight and hit the Thalmor agent in the arm. The arrow hit the wrist and sunk its self up into the forearm of the Thalmor. The Thalmor agent dropped his sword and the Blade picked up his and thrust it into the chest of the Thalmor.

Twilight turned around to see where the arrow had came from and saw Rainbow Dash with a smile on her face, holding her bow.

"Yes, I didn't miss my first shot" said the rainbow maned pegasus.

"Rainbow Dash!" Twilight exclaimed.

"Yes Twilight?" asked Dash, both confused and a little startled.

"Don't you feel even little guilty?" Twilight asked, the bewilderment still on her face.

"Why would I feel guilty Twilight? That sailor killed that dude, not me" Rainbow Dash said with a smirk.

"No. It doesn't work that way Rainbow Dash, that guy is dead because of you."

"And if I didn't do anything one of the good guys would be dead, seriously Twilight what did you think would happen when we got here?" asked Rainbow Dash.

Twilight looked around, remembering the fighting going on. She knew Rainbow Dash was right, and who was she to question how Rainbow coped with the situation. She focused another spell, this time a force of sheer magical energy and sent a Thalmor agent who had been casting magic at the sailors into the waters below.

Rainbow Dash kept firing arrows, keeping support on the sailors.

Applejack had moved onto the Thalmor ship and began to fight. She was inexperienced but had been taught well. She had yet to make a single wound on the Thalmor she found herself fighting but the Thalmor had yet to draw blood either. An arrow from Rainbow's bow into the left leg of the Thalmor caused him to lean down in pain and Applejack turned around and bucked the Thalmor in the teeth.

The Thalmor fell to the ground, bleeding profusely from his mouth. Applejack continued to fight like this. She would use her sword but when she had an opening she used her hoofs, using techniques she was taught when sparing with Rainbow Dash. She couldn't bring herself to make the final strike. She would make cuts here and there but she couldn't make the final cut.

With the Blade's help and Rainbow and Twilight keeping cover the fight was over quickly. They had lost about half the crew but there were no longer any living Thalmor on the ship.

"Say, where did Pinkie Pie get off to?" asked Applejack.

The three mares eyes widened and they began to look around frantically.

"There she is!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash.

Pinkie Pie was walking up the side of the large ship carrying four large canons, completely oblivious to the fighting that took place below.

Rainbow Dash flew up to Pinkie Pie and said "aren't those things heavy?"

Pinkie Pie giggled and said "of course not silly, they are just canons."

"yeah but the stuff that goes in them was really heavy by themselves" Rainbow Dash said.

"Why would what goes in these be heavy, that's just silly, where did you hear something like that?" Pinkie Pie asked.

Rainbow Dash sighed and decided to move on to her next question.

"Why are you climbing the side of the boat?"

"I saw Strillian and his friends going up here and since it's so big they will need help so I'm bringing these canons to make it go by faster" Pinkie Pie said.

"Make what go faster?" asked Rainbow Dash.

"You are asking a lot of silly questions today Dashie, are you alright?" asked Pinkie Pie.

Rainbow Dash sighed again and decided to leave it at that. She looked down and saw the two Blades had started to climb the side of the ship, as well as Applejack and Twilight.

Rainbow Dash looked at the four figures moving up the side of the ship then to Pinkie Pie. She turned to face the top of the large ship and thought 'Well, it looks like our part isn't over yet' before zooming up towards the deck of the large ship.
