My Shattered Soul: Starting Anew

As I started to wake, a very familiar sensation played across my body. When my eyes snapped open I was about to panic. "No! Not again" I thought to myself. Tia must have sensed it because the moment my feet touched the floor, I was swept up into a comforting embrace.

"Calm down dear brother" Celestia softly whispered into my ear while nuzzling me. "I forgot that would bring back terrible memories for you. I would just as soon cut my own wings and horn off, than ever do that to you again."

"Tia what's going on? Why was you carrying me like that again?" I was still upset from being woken up like that.

"I will try to explain as best as I can J" she said still holding me. "Some time ago, mother and father returned and gave my sister and I control over their specific types of magic. I gained time magic from mother and LuLu got space magic from father. That is how we finally found you, but I noticed something in the time stream. Understand this, time is fluid, but it does have fixed points. There has only been two such points in the last twenty-five hundred years or so. One was your arrival on Equis, the other was a thousand years ago when Nightmare Moon returned."

"How is me appearing on Equis a fixed point? I couldn't effect history, could I?"

"You can and you did. I watched thirty different outcomes from your arrival. The one we know is the best. The worst I witnessed, Discord had captured you and tried to bend you to his will. In it, you destroyed Equestria, but that is not our focus. Its the other fixed point I'm worried about."

"What's to worry about Tia? I'm back home, and Luna is carrying our future. Everything should be good."

"That's where your wrong J. Nightmare Moon will return and this time, when she takes control of Luna's body, she kills her soul and you know what that means."

"I die with her."

"And with both of you gone, Equestria would be hers. I couldn't defeat her on my own again."

"Wait. How did she come back? The Elements should have purged her from Luna."

"My best guess is she somehow hide a piece of herself in Luna's subconscious so that she could regenerate."

"Does Luna know?"

"No she doesn't. I don't have the heart to tell her after what my sister went through the first time."

"So I guess with all this talk of set points and fluid time. I'm going on a time trip one way ticket style. Do I need to worry about time paradox or loops of any kind?" Celestia was looking at me in shock then.

"No..no. There will be none of that. Your awful accepting of this."

"To save my family and home, of course I am" I shrugged accepting my fate. "Plus I look at it this way too. That's a thousand years we get back" I got that Tia smile that she only shows to family.

"This time line will no longer exist once this is done."

"Well then, I better not fuck this up. What do I need to do?"

"Right before the Nightmare is hit with the Elements, Luna must start emerging on her own. That should be enough to eradicate the parasite."

"Okay. Where will I appear and will your past self know?"

"You'll come out in the old castle and my past self will know something is up, because of the magic signature you'll have."

I sighed and hugged her tighter. "Let's get this over then."

"Goodbye, my brother."

"It's not goodbye, Tia. I'll be seeing you in a bit."

Smiling she started casting the spell. "Tis true."

When I opened my eyes, I was looking at the very spot where I was banished. I had never went to the old castle when I got back to Equestria, so this was my first time back.

"I would level this place after all of this is said and done, but it protects the tree." Closing my eyes, I hoped that I could still use at least a teleport spell. Sensing I could I cast it and appeared at the Canterlot Castle front gate.

Opening my eyes I looked around till my gaze fell upon two guards. One was a Solar, but the other was wearing armour I knew quite well and I recognized the pony too. Both was staring, one in fear, the other in disbelief.

"Dum Dum, who has you out here guarding a damn gate? Tia or Clay?" He smiled seeing a old friend.

"The Captain. You damn well know that we don't answer to nopony else but you my Prince." I couldn't help myself. I started laughing. Looking at the other guard, the poor sod was about to fall over in fear.

"Do you know who I am?"

"Yes, my Lord. The Princess made sure everypony knew about you and Princess Luna."

"Good. Now I wish for you to relax. When I leave, ask this goof what kind a Prince I am. You might be surprised. Stay at your post. I know my way around."

"Party in the barracks boss?"

"Of course" I replied walking towards the castle.

Along the way, I ran into a patrol unit of my guard. When they spotted me then saluted.

"It's been too damn long boy" growled out my sergeant major.

"I know sarge. Where is that bat brained Captain of mine?"

"If he knows what's good for him. He fuckin better be at his post in the throne room."

"Very well. Party in the barracks later. You know what that means, right?"

"Your will shall be done my Prince."

As I continued, I passed castle staff and other guards who all bowed to me. When I got to the throne room doors, the unicorns on duty started to light up their horns, but I stopped them.

"Is court in session?"

"It is your Highness."

I couldn't help it. I started smiling again. "Good. I have it from here. Stand back." Without further ado, I made my grand entrance back into Tia's life.

All noise in the throne room had ceased and Tia had a look of utter disbelief on her muzzle. I was half way down the aisle, when I was tackled by a alicorn again.

"What is it with you two and tackling me. Damn that hurts."

"I can't believe it. You found your way back. I had thought, that you would hate us for what we did to you J" Tia said wailing.

"Honestly, I did for the awhile. I will explain everything, but a certain pink niece of ours convinced me to come home." She looked at me in confusion. "May contain, but not limited to time travel, future you and world ending creatures."

"I trust that you will give me the best explanation you can. I'm so glad your home brother."

"Me too, Tia. Me too."
