Displaced Smash Bros Tournament.
-There is a sudden shift in reality. History overwriting itself-
Master Hand ‘sat’ on the edge, fingers dangling over as he watched the stars from his Final Destination. It had been a long time since he’s last hosted a tournament, he could host another in Equestria, however the last time he did that, the royal sisters had berated him for making ponies fight for their life.
“..I need willing fighters..” Master Hand said as he floated into the air, rotating himself to float upright. “Perhaps the multiverse… Yes, there are many great fighters out there of many shapes and sizes.. Hmm, come to think of it, it has been a long time since I had a visitor.” Master hand said as he floated over to the center of his home. With a snap of his fingers, a door materialized out of thin air, and with another finger snap, an envelope sealed with the Smash Symbol Seal appeared. “Should be as simple as sending a token, except they can come here rather than the other way around, and perhaps limit the number. Better this way than sending another Equestria into a mass panic. Hmm, I should add an extra alteration to ensure it doesn’t end up into the hands of God or a being with too much power.” Master Hand said before changing the seal with a snap of his fingers. With a final finger snap, he sends his letter through the multiverse, thus splitting into multiple letters, inviting all who wish to fight, or join as a spector along with bringing a few guests.
“Yes, yes, this will do nicely.” Master Hand said with a satisfied nod of his middle finger as the door manifested. Master hand flew around the Final Destination, finger snapping to include doors to the Smash Mansion, multiple rows of seats for spectators and guests to watch the many fights. “Hmm… Ah yes!” Master hand said as a good thought came to his mind. With a finger snap, a snack bar appeared, offering the many foods of the Smash universe; delicious food and drinks that can heal the consumer by a little, leaving them feeling good and energized. Master Hand couldn’t help but mentally smile as being a host and entertainer was something that always made him feel good, especially when he gets to see many fighters duking it out, improving themselves for an honorable goal. Master Hand turns around, noticing a new door appearing.
“Ah! They have arrived.” Master hand said with glee as he waited patiently for the door to open.
From the door, a young wolf entered; easy to mistake for an arctic wolf, before one noticed his fur was bleach blonde rather than snow white, and glowed like a unicorn’s horn in use. Additionally, dark leather armor wound around his upper torso, topped with a fur collar that looked made of silver fur. His gray eyes narrowed as he glared around the new environment, his tail and ears perked for danger and his snout twitching as he took in the new scents, before his eyes fell upon the giant hand floating in front of him. Instantly, his eyes widened, and he blinked in shock, as the door opened again, and a familiar purple alicorn stepped out after him.
“Status report, Princess Sparkle?” the wolf declared, turning back to her as she gasped at the sight. “This ain’t Shimmer’s world.”
Princess Twilight sighed. “Thank you, Logan,” she deadpanned. “I never would’ve guessed.”
From another door came a man and two kids, looking to be in their teens. The man was tall, ranging somewhere above 6’2. He was clad in a pair of black jeans and a baggy green top, a spear resting on his back. The teen to his left was around 5’8, with long orange hair with strips of blue going through it. He was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a plain orange top. Though, he had a large cloak over his back, concealing most of the light his wings were emitting.. The kid to his right was a bit shorter, being 5’6, and had short, scruffy green hair.
“Hey Phoenix,” The taller kid spoke and turned to the man, “I don’t think this is where you said we’d end up…”
“No need to be so cautious, just you wait, any second now some old dude is gonna jump out and explain the rules of the tournament.”
“If you’re sure...” The two boys said in unison.
The door shut behind the trio before reopening as a blond young woman around nineteen years of age with a crimson armored helmet with a deep emerald gemstone inlaid in white lacquered metal over her brow.
"You do realize your big asses are blocking the doorway, aren't you?" she yawned boredly. A katana was sheathed over her shoulder whilst second was over the opposite shoulder.
Phoenix turned to the woman and jokingly covered one of each of the kids ears. “There are children here! And also, may I point out that you just fat shamed a couple teenagers?”
Logan glanced around, before giving the woman a huff. “Only donkey I see round here is you,” he replied.
Twilight gasped. “Logan!” she chastised.
Phoenix's head perked up, thinking he had heard someone call him by his old name, but sighed when he realised it wasn’t directed at him.
Alexis' gaze shifted to the Wolf and Alicorn.
“M-Ma’am,” Twilight said quickly. “Please, forgive my Captain, he’s… well…”
“A jerk?” Logan replied with a grin. “Yeah.”
Alexis snickered. "Trust me, if I were insulted by that… I wouldn't be stuck with these two idiots," she sighed, shaking her head at the duo clad in red and dark navy behind her.
“I’m sure you have a lot of questions.” Master hand finally spoke after waiting a moment.
“Not particularly.” Phoenix stated. “Just gotta fight these guys, right?” He gestured to the rest of the group.
“Yes, mostly one on one, one on two if they’re weaker and in need of help.” Master Hand explained to Phoenix. “..In this case, I can see those work being together.” Master Hand said, gesturing with his finger to Phoenix's pupils.
“You hear that boys?” Phoenix began, “You two get your first bouts!”
“What?!” They exclaimed. “You haven’t even given us one lesson!”
“Don’t worry, just wanna see where you stand. I’m sure you’ll do just fine with the weapons I’ll be lending you.” Phoenix laughed to himself, picturing the sight. The two looked at eachother and audibly gulped.
Logan watched the two boys with intrigue before turning to Master Hand. “And if we beat these guys,” he asked cautiously. “We get some kind of… wish?”
“Whatever your heart’s desire,” Master Hand promised.
Logan nodded, exchanging a grin with Twilight.
"Please. Knowing Virgil… he wouldn't have much interest in a tournament and Dante is… well… a lazy bastard. Give him a pizza and he's satisfied. Me… I prefer a bit of a challenge," Alexis deadpanned as she clenched her hand as an aurora of bluish purple magic with hints of pale green and icy blue shimmered into sight.
As Alexis’ fist glowed with magic, Twilight’s eyes widened in awe. “What kind of magic is that?” she whispered, almost moving forward before Logan snagged her by the tail.
“Easy, Sparkle,” Logan replied, his tail wagging. “I still remember what happened when I showed off the Pack Link for the first time.”
Twilight moped. “You were such a tease with that,” she pouted.
Master Hand chuckled toward Twilight. “There is much for you to learn, Twilight Sparkle, especially the multiverse of endless possibilities” Master Hand said.
“Don’t tempt her,” Logan advised. “You could give her a joy overload.” Indeed, as Alexis began to explain, Twilight sat in front of her, her eyes glittering and her wings flapping happily.
Alexis smirked. "My own magic tends to take a form not unlike the Aurora Borealis, though I suspect that might be because of whom I'm related to, most likely," she commented. "But damn if that bastard didn't really mess with my mothers," she commented as her narrowed eyes flickered with indigo electricity.
“Mothers?” Twilight asked. “Who…?” Her eyes widened. “No… you’re not… could you be…?”
Alexis smirked slightly. "Could I be what?"
Twilight swallowed. “Celestia’s daughter?!”
“I suggest you guys take it easy. If this Twilight is like the one I know, her logic will not comprehend the logic of other universes.” Master hand said as he floated down, soon standing on two fingers. Master Hand gestures with his thumb to the seats, the snackbar, and the doors leading to other locations. “The first one will lead you to the Smash Mansion where your needs will be satisfied, the second will lead to some training areas depending on what you need, and the third will lead you to other lands of my universe.” Master Hand explained.
“Thanks for the heads up.” Phoenix nodded towards Master Hand. “Aight boys, let’s be off. Got some ropes to show ya and all that jazz.” The three walked off into the training area, as Phoenix formed a couple weapons for his pupils.
"Niece, actually," Alexis commented nonchalantly. "Though I have, for the most part, lived in Canterlot Castle. Troublesome nobles," she sighed.
Twilight sighed with her. “Oh, I was so glad I got away from them,” Twilight admitted. “Always sucking up to Princess Celestia; trying to earn her favor…”
“Yeah, you always did want Celestia for yourself, didn’t ya?” Logan replied.
“Logan!” Twilight whined, turning a bright red, as the wolf cackled.
Alexis snorted. "I know one thing… finding the source of those tremors underneath Canterlot wasn't fun… when it turned out to be a Maverick making trouble… had a sword probably four feet long and at least three inches broad from edge to edge... ugh…" she sighed, shaking her head.
Twilight tilted her head. “Mavericks?” She asked, glancing at Logan, who shrugged, equally confused.
“You’ve had some trouble with some robots, or is this a different sort of maverick?” Master hand asked curiously.
"Maverick Reploids. Only found two so far… though the first… in Canterlot Mines... had I not stopped him, given enough time, he'd most likely have brought down the entire mountain Canterlot resides upon," she commented.
Twilight shivered. “That sounds horrible.”
“Good thing we don’t have to deal with those,” Logan noted. He paused, humming. “Or do we…” He grumbled, before looking at Twilight. “Remind me after this is over to check Canterlot’s mines. Just to be safe.”
Twilight nodded. “Agreed. Thank you, Captain.”
"From what I've gathered, the only time that things from one Displaced's dimension bleeds into another is if the dimensions collide with one another, a rare incident in itself, or, more likely, if one has a stronger Void Signature than the resident Displaced, which would 'imprint' slightly upon the given dimension," Alexis deadpanned, unknowingly sounding much like Twilight.
“..Does this happen often?” Master Hand asked in worry.
“Whenever it happens,” Logan decided. “We’ll need to be ready for it.” He glared down. “After all, it was probably because of one of these ‘bleed effects’ that Celestia managed to find my old world.”
Twilight swallowed and stepped back, as if this was a conversation that she didn’t want to get into.
Master Hand was silent for a moment as he ran over a checklist of things from his universe. “Is it simply just the universe, or would the theme of the universe cause any issues? I would hate for Tabuu to end up in your world, even though he does not exist here.” Master hand asked.
"Most commonly, the way Displaced are summoned are through their respective Tokens, which usually nullifies the bleed effect unless a Displaced is at a certain strength or they know how to block a Void Signature," Alexis commented. "I don't know that much about Displaced as a whole nor the particular details," she sighed with a small shrug, her armored vest rattling softly. She'd only been summoned once, after all.
“Tokens?” Logan mumbled. “I got taken by Celestia herself - or at least the Celestia of the Equestria we came from.” He indicated Twilight, who nodded.
“Logan told me she was studying one of these ‘bleed effects’ you mentioned,” she indicated Alexis. “And was trying to see if she could block it off to prevent Displaced from disrupting her timeline.” She shrugged apologetically at Logan. “Instead, she ended up causing the very thing she was hoping to stop.” She perked up. “A-At the very least, we’ve managed to keep anything villainous from crossing over from Logan’s world.
“Almost,” Logan grumbled, remembering the madman that they had barely managed to contain.
“At least your information will come in handy. I do hope my Smash Ball token has arrived in your world to prevent the bleed effect, if not, I will come over to take care of the problem.” Master hand said with confidence. “For now, I believe the rest of you should get comfortable in the Smash Mansion while we wait for the rest of the fighters.” Master said as he moved his body to present an oversized thumbs up gesture.
Logan hummed, but his tail wagged, and he nodded in agreement. “C’mon, Princess,” he said. “Since we ain’t kidnapped, let’s see what this place has to offer.”
Twilight rolled her eyes, but fell in line beside Logan. “Whatever you say, my Captain,” she replied, as they wandered off to explore the world.
Alexis hummed in thought. "Knowing Nico, she probably found it, though she knows that if it's not demonic material to not try incorporating it into her weapons. I have found more than a few Tokens, though," she commented as her deep indigo wings flared out, the pale cream under feathers gleaming slightly.
Master Hand let out a hum. “The worst that can happen is if she tries to combine my Smash Orb, is her gaining a boost of power enough for one attack.” Master hand said with a chuckle. “That, or discovering her own Final Smash.” Master Hand said with a hum of curiosity.
The door opens to show a somewhat normal looking girl. She has white hair that reaches her shoulders, her bangs covering her left eye. She had a stripe of grey hair going down the left bang. Her eye color was grey, and her skin was white with a slight crayon peach tint. Her lips were also grey. On top of her head is a beige cloth that's tied under her hair. On her neck and along her shoulders is a brown neck piece that has yellow/golden accents and a red stripe going across the middle. She wears a light brown top, with lighter brown pants and a pair of dark green shoes. She looks around in confusion, but goes through the doorway nonetheless.
“Uh hi, I’m Isabella, I was told to come here by my headmaster. They said I’d find what I’m looking for here, but didn’t really specify.” She says in a proper tone.
“Welcome to my home, the Final Destination. I’d assume your headmaster had gotten the Smash Invitation instead of you?” Master Hand asked curiously.
“Well due to certain complications, we don’t have the proper channels apparently. I don’t really understand it, but apparently it’s something one of the overseers found. So the headmaster had to get the invite along with anything else sent there, since it’s too dangerous for students. Though I’m not sure what’s going on.” She says with a confused look.
“In short, you’ve been invited to take part in a Smash Tournament where if you can win all of your matches, I will be granting the winner one wish. Don’t worry about losing though as you’ll be given a basket of food to be sent home with you so you’re not returning empty handed.” Master hand explained to Isabella.
“Combat training, that must’ve been the reason. They could’ve just said so.” She says with an annoyed sigh, then smiles. “Alright, I’ll join. Where do I go from here?”
“In the meantime while we wait for the other fighters, you can enjoy the many rooms I have to offer.” Master Hand said, pointing out to the four doors that stood without a nearby wall, explaining which one leads to where such as the Smash Mansion, Training Mode, Snack Bar, or to visit the many locations of the Smash Bros World.
“Alright, thank you.” She says, walking towards the doors.
“Oh, I forgot to mention. You can’t die while in my world, so go nuts in the training areas.” Master Hand said so casually.
“Good to know…I think I’ll head to the training areas.” She says, heading towards that specific door.
Master Hand nodded with his finger as Isabella headed through the door, soon arriving in a room that was changed according to what she needed training in. Everything was now silent and peaceful with everyone doing their own thing in each room. Only one fighter was needed, and once they arrived, Master Hand could begin the tournament. “...Hmm, I wonder if I should broadcast this to the Equestria down below..” Master Hand said in curiosity. From the same door that Isabella came from, two more people came out of it, a man and a woman.
The male is a skeleton with a goat's skull for a head. He has green eyes and a red heart on his forehead. He wears a red open jacket with a green shirt, black pants, boots and fingerless gloves. He also wears a silver necklace with the delta rune on it, his necklace has a weird shimmer to it. The female was wearing a dark green ninja outfit with black trim that covered her face save for her red eyes. She also had her dark brown hair sticking out the back of her mask, and it was done in a ponytail. The two looked around before seeing the giant floating hand.
“Ah, you must be her guests. Just head through that door and you’ll see her soon.” Master Hand said, gesturing to the door Isebelle went through.
“Thank you.” The skeleton says, the ninja does an agreeing hmm. “Come along, your-hmm!” The ninja places a hand on the skeleton’s mouth with a huff, the skeleton takes her hand off his mouth. “You kids are so easily annoyed.” The ninja rolls her eyes and goes through the door, the skeleton follows behind her.
A new door appears as it is suddenly kicked open, allowing a tall humanoid with long orange-red horns that stretch up from the beings long messy black hair. A pair of headphones rested on their ears as a strange set of black glasses wrapped around the beings face, covering their eyes. A long black hooded coat that stretches to their ankles flowed behind them. They wore a breastplate with a symbol etched into it in gold. His shoulders armored and his hands and forearms are covered in strange thin gauntlets. The being wore a pair of black pants that covered in a form of thigh armor; they also wore a pair of armored boots. Both of which glow with unknown energy.
The being strode forward with purpose towards the Master Hand.
“Welcome to my room, the Final Destination, you are the last fighter needed to start the Smash Tournament. Most of everyone is enjoying themselves in each of the four doors. Once I’ve thrown everyone's name and who randomly fights who, I will summon everyone here when the time comes. Do you have any questions?” Master Hand asked curiously.
"No Master Hand, I'll be off." Mogeme said with a smile, he turned and walked towards one of the doors before quickly turning around. "Oh and thank you for the invite. This is going to be fun!" He called, before disappearing into one the doors
Master Hand waited patiently as there was one last fighter to be gained, then he could get the show on the road.
One last door opened, but not in front of Master Hand, nor to either side of him. A scream and a pair of impacts would tell him everything he needed, though. The door had opened in the air, and on the ground behind him were a pair of blonde women.
“And that, Searing, is what happens when I’m summoned,” the one with longer hair said as she got up. “Thanks for cushioning my landing, by the way.”
Searing quickly got to her feet. “Is it like that every time?” She asked, her English accent very clear.
Master Hand wiggled his two fingers in the equivalent of blinking in confusing. “..I don’t think my Smash Invitation was supposed to act like that.” Master Hand said as he moved his fingers to look down at the two on the floor.
Searing blinked at the giant hand. “Did that hand just talk?”
“Yeah, it did,” Yang said. “So, you’re Master Hand, I presume?”
“Indeed I am, and you are?” Master Hand asked as he floated down to stand on two fingers.
"Yang Xiao Long. This is my fiancée, Searing Victory. I'm the one who got the letter, and she's kind of along for the ride."
Searing jumped onto Yang's back and held her tightly. "If she's fighting, so am I!"
"No, you're not," Yang firmly stated. "The letter was for me, and as much as I'd love for you to be my shield, I don't think it would be allowed anyways."
"But-"
"You could watch me fight, though. I'm sure you'll love the show."
Searing took a deep breath before letting it out with a defeated sigh. "If you say so."
“Do not worry about her, Searing. No one can die in my tournament as long as they fight in my world,” Master Hand said to reassure her.
“. . . The talking hand is still weird,” Searing muttered.
Yang clapped her hands. “So, where do we go now?”
“You can relax for now until I announce the first fight, either wait here, or go relax in your guest room.” Master Hand said as he gestured toward the doors. “Also, Searing? I am not the weirdest you shall be seeing, especially when you travel the multiverse with a Displaced.” he said as he curved his thumb to form a smile.
“Sweet. Thanks.” Yang, still with Searing on her back, walked through the doors.
