Part 1: After the Fall Formal
Sunset Shimmer was tired after finally finishing the front of the school after she destroyed it. Then she heard a voice behind her
“Sunset Shimmer. Come over here.” After following the voice, Sunset found she was cornered by shadows of people before they approached her; knocking her out cold. When she awoke, her head burned with pain as she looked around her.
Where am I? She thought as she tried to stand but couldn’t and heard a noise she never thought she’d hear. I’m in chains! Sunset realized as she saw that she had chains on her wrists and ankles. Then she was visited by Vice Principal Luna.
“Hello Sunset Shimmer! I suppose you might want to get comfy in here. You’ll be staying a while. All the students signed a petition to lock you up so we had no choice, and you have proven to be too dangerous to be around human society right now. Good night.” Luna hissed as she put a tray of food in front of Sunset Shimmer.
Everyone decided to lock me up? But why? Haven’t we all messed up big-time? Wait NIGHT!?!? Sunset thought after the door closed. She then broke down sobbing.
“PIPE DOWN IN THERE!!!!” the ISS teacher yelled at Sunset through a makeshift wall that hid her from the human world before he left. Sunset Shimmer didn’t eat or sleep ALL NIGHT. The next morning; Sunset Shimmer was spooked by the first bell. She was so hungry from not eating the night before but was just too sad to eat anything! She was so lonely. The ISS teacher exchanged the meals in the cage and sighed; he didn’t want to be the one who had to watch her, he’d rather have ISS kids in there than this recently-demon girl!
“No loud noises today! GOT IT?” he told her after pulling a block out of the wall that contained her.
“Mmmhhmm” Sunset mumbled sadly.
“What did you say!?!” he snapped at her. Stunned to tears; Sunset whimpered
“Yes sir.”
“GOOD.” he muttered to her as he replaced the block and walked back to his desk. 4-legging it over to a pile of hay that served as a bed(CHS has some weird things) Sunset flopped down on it and silently sobbed. All throughout the week, it was the same thing. Getting spooked by the bell, refusing to eat, losing weight, getting hit in the face by a rubber chicken because she couldn’t not cry, somberly looking at students that walked away from the school, and giving puppy-eyes to the students and teachers that looked back at her. On Wednesday, Rainbow Dash was one of those few students who made the mistake of looking back at the school and unlucky enough to lock gazes with Sunset. The ‘monster’ looked at Rainbow with tear-stained eyes and whispered in her soul:
Why would you do this to me? I’m just a teenage girl with a hard past. Can’t you understand? Then Sunset Shimmer laid her chained hands on the windowsill and Rainbow told her
“You’ve inflicted this on your own self.” very rudely before walking off and leaving her behind. Sunset’s heart ached after Rainbow disappeared from sight. The wind that then moved her fiery hair had a chilling scent: winter and the first frost were almost here.
Oh crud, guess I’ll be freezing in the corner Sunset let out a whimper of self-pity before closing the window and curling up in a corner. Her stomach panged with intense hunger but, she couldn’t find the strength to to do anything but lay there. So, she settled for clutching it and letting out a groan of discomfort that she soon found futile because there was no one in the school. The next morning, Sunset was still groaning from the pains of her increasing in intensity hunger. Her stomach felt like an empty void as it panged from inside her. She looked down at her hands and feet; which she noticed were bleeding and had something white around them.
These gashes on my hands and feet are infected! she realized but flopped her head back down and didn't seem to care because she was extremely weak both from her hunger and the 4 infections. Near the end of that day, she heard 5 voices come in.
“We want to see her.” voice-that-sounded-like-Rainbow-Dash said
“Fine” the ISS teacher grumbled and Fluttershy ripped away multiple blocks. Rarity gasped when they saw the teenager. She looked horrible! Fluttershy couldn't bear to see this anymore and sprinted off to the nurse's office.
“How'd she get so bad?” Applejack asked out of shock. She turned to the ISS teacher in fury
“Have you not been taking care of her?!?!?!?!” Pinkie Pie lifted the teen in her lap and stroked her back in a comforting way. Sunset did not respond to Pinkie’s picking her up; she was so limp.
“Look how much weight she's lost! I think she might be dying!” Pinkie cried Fluttershy came in with Nurse Redheart, the school nurse, and she took off Sunset’s chains and pulled her out of her little cage. Redheart took Sunset's temperature: she had a high fever.
“We need to get her to my office!” she cried as she picked the limp teen up and cradled her. Sunset let out a quiet groan.
“She’s alive!” Rainbow said as the rushed down to the nurse's office. When they got there, Nurse Redheart worked on Sunset’s hands first. Once they were cleaned, disinfected, and bandaged, she worked on reviving Sunset. After half an hour, Sunset’s eyes fluttered open for a second before closing; she was alive but barely and if she hadn't been found, she would be dead by sunrise the next day.
“Come on little one, come back to us.” Nurse Redheart told Sunset. Fluttershy sat down next to Sunset and picked her up; cradling the very sick teen like she was extremely fragile. Nurse Redheart deemed her body could handle an antibiotic shot. Fluttershy held her and the rest of the girls spoke sweetly to her while Redheart injected the antibiotic medicine.
“The longer she holds on after the anti-bodies start working, the better her chances.” she said.
“Come on, you can do it.” Rainbow whispered to Sunset
“You can do it…. Sunny.” Fluttershy said; giving the teen a loving nickname. Sunset began to regain consciousness as her eyes fluttered for one second, then 2, until she kept them half open constantly.
“Where…..where am I?” the weak teen mumbled.
“You're in the nurse's office.” Redheart gently whispered. The 5 girls vowed never to let Sunset go through anything like that again.
