Derpy History

Luna and Derpy snuggled with each other on the sofa in the tiny living room. Luna suddenly began snorting and laughing, maniacally. Derpy just stared and felt herself shake. Her marefriend continued the act, until Derpy began to cry.

"W-what's s-so f-funny, Luna?" -no reply, just laughter-

"S-seriously..? Is it m-m-me?" At this point Luna stopped and began breathing hard, and Derpy was wailing.

"Why are you crying, filly?" Luna whispered in Derpy's ear and calmed her down by smoothing her mane with her magic. Her horn glowed, and then Luna kissed Derpy on the cheek. Derpy pushed her away, and stood up from the sofa, backing away from the alicorn.

"You were laughing at me? Why? My name? My eyes? My voice? Why, I once again ask, why?" Derpy shouted, looking as innocent and cute as ever. Luna gasped and immediately shook her head, her flowy mane looked even beautiful then, making Derpy gasp.

"Your name is all... and not in a bad way... Just, tell me why you are called 'Derpy', please, love. I didn't ever mean to make you cry. But Derpy? What a silly name. Why would such a pretty pegasus have this type of-"

Derpy's long sigh cut Luna off. And they both stared at each other, looking sad.

"I will tell you... If you promise to not tell anypony and never break my heart, we will be together forever, right? So I need my life partner to know the truth... Even if it may sadden you," Derpy said with an arrow in her heart. She sighed once more as Luna just eagerly waited for her to speak.

"I was abandoned at birth, because of my appearance and disorders. I don't even remember them... They left me because of my eyes.. my 'pony-tism' disorder, and my clumsiness and stupidness. Basically because I was retarded. I know this because of written accounts on my birth certificate and pony papers. They threw me in an pony-phanage. This was all in Fillydelphia, where I was born, I think. I was weird. In school, I was bullied and beaten harshly. I never did well in school. The pony-phanage throws you out when you reach high school, and they advised me to live in a less-populated place like, Ponyville. And I began high school here, roommates with one of my classmates, named Rainbow Dash. She actually had a job, and said that I could pay her back as soon as I got one. She wasn't exactly my friend, no one was, I never had any friends, but she helped me a lot. In high school, I failed every class, and I didn't exactly have a name. My only known name was Miss Hooves, and the fillies in high school began calling me 'Derpy'. I guess because of my appearance. And then everypony did, I became known as Derpy. I don't know if I like that name, but I didn't even have a name to began with.. So yeah... Oh Celestia, where was I? Oh... Sorry 'bout that, Luna! I mean, 'Oh, Luna'! Okay, so then I dropped out of high school and became a mailmare. Rainbow Dash kicked me out when I earned enough bits to pay her back, and I bought this place. Everypony still calls me 'Derpy' and makes fun of me because of high school, but that's okay, I guess... I got used to it... Then, as soon as I met you, everything has gone my way.. I'm so happy I have you, Luna. You are my bestest friend, my marefriend, my love... Thank you, my princess... My princess of the night...."

Derpy and Luna embraced one last time. Luna had to go now, it was getting deep into the night, now. Celestia would scold her, if she didn't go. Luna was extremely wet with tears, poor, poor, Derpy...

"I'm sorry, soo sorry, Derpy. I respect you. I don't care if you're retarted, poor, or whatever! I LOVE YOU! Derpy, is the best, cutest name, for the cutest, sweetest, strongest pegasus, I know and love so much. You are my reason to live from now on... Thank you, for being there, for me, my love, Derpy!" Luna was crying so much, and now Derpy was wet with tears. They kissed one last time, and Luna flew back to the castle.
