"Now!" Starlight yelled, I took flight and focused on my pendent as my eyes began to glow, a mixture of red and golden yellow swirling in the atmosphere around me.

It was one week left until Bloodfang said he would return, one more week until Equestria would have to face him. I shook the thoughts from my head and I returned my focus onto Starlight in front of me, who conjured up a large beam of light before sending it at me. Fire instantly covered me as a defense mechanism before I broke the tight bond and flew directly at the princess's pupil. My sword joined at my side before I slashed the sword shaped flame at Starlight, she reflected my attack back as soon as it touched her barrier, making the flame break and strike me. I dropped as my eyes stopped glowing as the flame completely disappeared as I closed my eyes with small groan, pain aching through my wings.

Starlight broke her barrier before running over to me, "Scorch? Are you okay I didn't mean to-"

"I'm fine."

I interrupted her before standing up, stretching my wings which were still slightly swore from weeks prior.

Twilight, Trixie and Sparky were across from us, practicing their own magic. I smiled as I caught Sparky's eye and she smiled back at me.

"I love you." I mouthed to her.

"I love you too."

"I love you too."

I mouthed back to the auburn mare across from me with a slight blush tinting my cheeks as I smiled. Turning my head and using my magic to adjust the rims on my muzzle, I zoned back in as Twilight started to talk again about Trixie and I's next task.

"Alright, Sparkle, I want you to focus on your reflection barrier and Trixie I need you to-"

The alicorn was cut off as a ball of magic floated in front of her muzzle before bursting into a cloud of sparkles, making Twilight sneeze. My ears twitched as I heard low snickering, turning around to see Starlight's horn glowing faintly and my mare friend laughing, her wings keeping her barely above the ground.

"Starlight! S-Scorch!" Twilight yelled through another sneeze before her eyes narrowed at the two ponies who just continued to laugh, Starlight's horn lighting up once again as she disappeared and Scorch using her wings to propel herself into the sky and out of Twilight's range.

The purple alicorn looked around before deciding to teleport after the lighter colored unicorn.

Trixie and I looked at each other before laughing slightly, I felt a wing wrap around me as I turned my head, seeing Scorch now beside me, still giggling from earlier.

"You know she's going to kill you if she catches you right?" I giggled, fixing my rims once again and seeing her stick her tongue out at me before smiling.

"Then I'll just be sure she doesn't catch me."

Days seemed to pass quicker the closer the two moons got to being up. The sky was already dark blue as night fell once again.

Scorch sat outside of the castle's doors, tail swishing slowly behind her as she looked at the sky and back down. Another nightmare having struck her minutes before.

"Hey.."

Scorch turned quickly, hearing the unexpected voice before relaxing upon seeing Sparkle, "Hey Sparky." She grinned, slightly shaky as she returned to her old position. The purple unicorn frowned, hearing the shaky tone of her marefriends voice before taking a spot next to her.

"Another nightmare..?"

Scorch's experssion dropped at the mere mention of this, "Yeah.. More vivid than the last.."

Sparkle started to speak, only to get cut off.

"I'm scared Sparky... What if-.. What if we can't stop him? What if Equestria gets..."

"We're not letting that happen." The purple mare spoke, eyes locked on her girlfriend as she frowned and nuzzled her again. "We'll stop him.. You'll save Equestria.."

Scorch looked down at her, slight fear showing in her eyes. The girl that Sparkle had grown so used to being cocky and sure of herself was breaking down slowly infront of her.

Sparkle adjusted the rims on her muzzld before leaning in and kissing Scorch, who immediantly returned the action before pulling away.

"Don't worry Scorch... We'll win..'

I've been gone hella long. I also realized just how bad my grammer was in past chapters but I'm too lazy to go back to fix it rn so enjoy this new chapter XD

Also starting next chapter I'll probably do 3rd person from now on
