A Sparkle and Her Flame

It had been a week since I had confessed to Twilight.

"Accidentally" I thought, but hey it worked out! But, It's kind of been hard keeping it from our friends, Twilight thinks it would be awkward if they knew, even though I'm 99.9 percent sure Rarity and AppleJack are dating..

But now going to Equestria, I'm not sure how long we'll be there, or how long I can hiding.... If Twi gets hurt....

"Nevermind that.." I thought as our group continued towards the mirror. I was walking near Twi, our hands brushing every now and then as we continued.

Pinkie Pie engulfed both of us in a hug before our other friends joined.

"You two come on back safe A'ight?" AppleJack said, I nodded, we both said our goodbye's before walking into the portal, I closed my eyes.

"Here we go...."

We both landed onto the cold, crystal surface. My coordination much better than last as I actually landed on my hooves. I glanced behind me as Flame made her way through the mirror, stopping stretch her wings, she shook her fur and her necklace shook with her. She looked up at me and smiled "Hey beautiful..." I blushed and nuzzled my muzzle into her fur. "Hey..." We heard hooves coming down the hall and quickly stepped away from each other.

"Glad you two could make it a little earlier than planned! We need to have last minute preparations come on!" Princess Twilight appeared through the door and left as quickly as she came. Flame instantly let her feet, flapping heher wings she waved for me to follow her with a flick of a tail.

An hour had passed. I think? My Equestria side is still a bit rusty. I flapped my wings, keeping myself off the ground as I followed Twilight down the hall, I bumped into Sparky, smirking as she looked up at me a red tint on her face as she stuck her tounge out. We made it out to ponyville and towards Trixie and Starlight outside Twilight's castle. Sparky went back inside to train with Twilight meanwhile the three of us talked.

"So who's stronger between you two?" Trixie asked, smirking, both Starlight and I answered at the same time. "Me, Duh." We both stared at each other "I don't get my magic from a necklace." Starlight smirked, I chuckled "Even if you don't, doesn't say something that your magic's weaker than "Necklace" magic." I shot back, grinning as she raised an eyebrow and smiled.

"Well theres only way to find out." Trixie used her magic to slam a heavy bar of wood on the floor for dramatic effect, I laughed. "Magic duel!"

We walked into a nearby forest, Everfree I believe? There used to be legends about how bad this place used to but Starlight and Trixie said it was fine, I shrugged and went along. It wasn't long before we arrived in a wide open plain, Trixie sat on the sideline, somehow managing to get popcorn on her way here "Whoooo Starlight let's go!"

"That's just wrong!" I cried, jokefully as Starlight laughed, Trixie smiled and took her hat off her hand "What? The Great and Powerful Trixie, Is just being loyal." She glanced at Starlight, I smirked before she called the start "Go!"

I instantly flew into the air, narrowly dodging a blast from Starlight. My eyes glowed as my necklace did also, a stream of fire formed itself next to me and shot at Starlight, she formed a barrier, blocking it before it made contact. "Not bad..." She said.

"Thanks. But I'm just getting started." I smirked and formed a sword next to me, landing on the floor I ran, cutting a blast from Starlight in half before striking her. She flew back, but easily stopped herself with her magic and placed herself on the ground, she smiled a bit. "Well, So am I!" She shot a gigantic blue beam at me, and it hit before I had a change to move. I hit a tree and flopped down, shaking my head "Nice power..." I stumbled before standing again, I ran at her before trying to take flight but before I could try it seemed that she shot another beam I couldn't dodged.I flew back, My wings seemed like they wouldn't work as I fell into a bush. "Scorch?!" I heard the two yell, worried. "I'm fine! Just stuck!" I lied, walking out the bush. "Now let's continue." I was about to form my sword again before I heard a growl.

"T-T-T-Timberwolves!!!!" Trixie yelled, Starlight's eyes widened and we all began to run, I shot a stream of fire at the Timberwolves but it didn't seem to do much. "I used too much power in the battle with Starlight." I thought as I tried to take flight, I felt a pain in my wings as I flew up, I looked back but saw nothing. I felt a searing pain through my leg as I looked down, The timberwolf had bit me. I cried angerily fprming a ball of fire and throwing it at Timberwolf, succesfully dislodging his teeth. I shook off both Starlight and Trixie who were giving me worried looks, despite the pain. "Get out of here you two! I hold them off till your gone and fly out!" I yelled at Starlight, who shook her head and told Trixie to run, but she wouldn't either. "It's either all of us or none us!" Trixie said, in a shaky voice but still meaningful.

My eyes glowed as I smiled at them. I looked back at the Timberwolves and saw Starlight and Trixie step near me. Their horns lit up with magic as I struggled to take flight again, no one noticed. My fire formed around me.

And then everything went black.

I saw Scorch's flame's surrond her in the corner of my eye, but as quickly I saw that I heard a thump, and she was one the ground, out cold. "Scorch!" I heard Trixie shout, before running over to the Pegasi. I looked back toards the wolves and took a breath. Light surronded my horn as I blasted them, shattering every single wolf. Trixie was already putting the mare on her back as my horn returned to normal, I shot a worried glance at Scorch, who's wings seemed to be getting purple by the minute. The flashback of her smacking against the tree in our duel went through my head.

"Oh Horseapples..."

"Twilight!!" I heard two voices and could easily recognize the two now. Twilight raised and eyebrow until taking flight out of the room we were in, I heard a gasp and poked my head out the door to hear better. "Scorch!!" My heart stopped as I heard Twilight exclaim Flame's nickname. I dashed out of the room and towards where I heard Twilight's voice to see Flame on Trixie's back, unconscious, her leg seemed badly beaten, and her wings...

"Scorch!" I ended up yelling, runnng over to Twilight who now had floated Scorch to the floor. I dropped next to on the floor. "What happened?!?!"
