"Just... d-don't say I didn't w-warned you."
"Welp. I'm going to g-grillby's."
Sans finally met his match. He knew he was not the victor of this fight. He was just stalling them until they would turn ALL of this around. After everything the child has done, they showed no remorse for the monsters of the Underground. Sans was just waiting patiently until he would give the ultimate judgment upon them. He sensed that this thing was something otherworldly, like it was created to ravage everything. Killing everything to satisfy themselves. Only the essence of ruin and despair only gave meaning to its existence. A demon child, which ironically, descended from above. Now, the time has come. Sans will now receive the pain the child has caused to everyone... especially to his brother, Papyrus. He's just happy it's all over. He'll finally get to see and be with his brother again.
"Don't worry, Pap. i'm coming home."
Sans said as he felt his time was running out. He looked back and saw the child with a smile on their face, telling it that their DETERMINATION served them well. Few moments later, he collapsed on his knees and tears ran down through his hollow, black eyes telling him that it should've been him all along. He now feels the wind and the dust that the child gladly returned where it belongs.
"And i'm sorry that I wasn't there for you. I'm.... so..... sorry, Pap."
Those were the last words he said after he returned to dust with the others.... or did he?
A light flashed before him for a split second and after that, surrounding him was darkness. Pure blackness like he hasn't seen before. For some reason, a light is illuminating from above where he was floating. He was supposed to be dead, and better yet, to be with his brother. His left eyed glowed with a bright blue color with a yellow tint to it. Then, he heard a voice from somewhere but couldn't tell where it was, but this...voice seems very familiar with him.
"Hello, Sans. Long time no see."
Sans turned around and he saw...him. He had a face which seems to have a black trace from each of his eyes, and wearing a black coat with a gray turtleneck, black pants and shoes that were formal.
"...... G? H-How?
"Remember Sans, you are a part of me. As long you are around, I can converse with you anytime. But that is not why I'm here."
"Soo..... uhhh why are you here exactly?"
"I'm here to give you another chance at redemption, but are you willing to accept my offer?"
Sans is speechless on what he just heard. "Another chance? At what? I don't need to prove myself anymore. The kid's too DETERMINED to be even be stopped. Even if I stop them, they'll just keep coming back and back until I'm dead. What's the point? No one can stop it, no one." Endless thoughts came rushing to Sans' mind as to why he should stay dead and just accept what's been given to him.
"I know that nothing can stop this demon child. Nobody can. You're right Sans. You should stay dead..... BUT here's where you're wrong," his tone changed to a deeper voice.
"I will give you another chance to stop this child of abomination because this time, you won't be fighting them in the Judgment Hall."
Sans looked confused. "What? Where then?"
"You will fight them in the place where I will send you ---- the Human World."
Sans asked, "Why? It's not like it's gonna make a difference. The kid will just keep coming back and back, right?"
"I will explain everything later. I won't be here when I resurrect you. Sorry Sans.
Right now, you have a class to attend next week. Here's a quick rundown of your information when you enter the Human World:
You are Sans Aster, aged 16 and a new student at Canterlot High School (CHS).
I have prepared a place for you to stay so you won't have a hard time finding a place to crash because I know how much of a lazybones you are. Just follow address that I placed in your pocket."
"Uhmm... thanks. but seriously g, school? can't i just be at home, slacking off as Papyrus would say? Or lend me a 'hand'?" Sans asked.
"You've been lazy enough Sans. You should work out that skull of yours once in a while, you know. Plus..."
there was a long pause then he spoke again:
"I won't be here in your head talking when I resurrect you. I will be gone as I have given you all of my being to bring you back to life. I'm truly sorry Sans."
Sans suddenly felt uneasy as he processed the words that his father said to him. After a few moments, he began to speak slowly, as he couldn't believe that Gaster won't be there to help him. He will be all alone again.
"What......are........y-you.........s-saying, G?"
"You heard what I said Sans. I can't help you physically or mentally once you're alive again, but I have left some notes in your house so that you know what to do next when I'm gone."
"Fine." Sans said plainly.
"That's a good skeleton."
After the lengthy conversation, Gaster touched Sans' head and was sent to this new world that he had prepared for him. When he opened his eyesockets, he found himself lying on his back behind a huge building. He tried to stand up and looked around. To his left, he saw an empty soccer field. He looked at himself and he was still the same: short, big-boned and comical skeleton. He doesn't know where he is yet so he tried to observe his surroundings. Everything was quiet since classes have not yet started so Sans took a little stroll around the school. The sun was out, shining beautifully, then, nostalgia hit him. He remembered:
"it's a beautiful day outside.
birds are singing... flowers are blooming...
on days like these, kids like you...
SHOULD BE BURNING IN HELL.
He remembered that his job was not yet done. He can't wait for the kid to come here and give them the final judgment once more.
"There was something that "G" said about this world, about how there could be an advantage for me here. Well, whatever it is, I can't wait to get home and read all the notes he wrote, which reminds me...", Sans said to himself.
He reached down to the left pocket of his trousers and felt a wrapped paper in his hand and brought it out. It was his address, although, he wasn't really sure how "g" got a house for him. Maybe because of him being omnipresent everywhere... he doesn't really know how he does it. After reading it, he saw something at the bottom of the paper, which says, "It's a small house which is only a fifteen minute walk from the school you're in if you don't get all of this." Then, a few words followed:
"Don't forget, Sans. You have a job to finish."
- Gaster
Sans shrugged at this, for he knew he was ready anytime. As of now, he will try to get a good glimpse of where he is. He finally saw the entrance of the school after circling the outside premises of the building. A horse-like statue was placed on the outside which puzzled him for a moment, then he saw the name of the building in BIG letters...
=CANTERLOT HIGH SCHOOL=
Sans now knows where he is. The school where 'G' wanted him to go to so badly. 'G' knew he can't be lazy forever. Sans might learn a few things about this but he was still lazy as ever. He thought of skipping classes, but he would be expelled just for a stupid excuse like being lazy. He finally decided to go to his new house which relieved him because he knew he hates taking long walks. He just uses his so-called "shortcuts".
Sans looked up at the sky with that grin on his face and said to himself:
"Don't worry kid, I'll be waiting."
Then he walks off to his new home.
On the way, he was met by green trees and flowers which were vibrant and rich in color. The light breeze was giving him time think about all this new life. He has never been to the surface before and now he has seen it. Everything was so calm and peaceful until he found the place where he was supposed to stay.
"Well, it wasn't that long of a walk. Heh.... thanks G for the place."
It wasn't as big and christmassy as to his old home where he and Papyrus would spend time together. It wasn't the same, now that his brother is gone and he felt guilty about not saving him when he had the chance. He just couldn't bear it anymore, all of them DEAD because of him. He just watched them die in the hands of the demon. Sans knew if he jumped in, it wouldn't make a difference. They will just keep coming back until all of them reduced to dust. He just waited because he wanted to make sure if the child really went on with the genocide path. The path where doom and ruin were present, where mercy was NOT an option.
He now felt his sins crawling on his back.
"Heh. Looks like I got a taste of my own medicine." Sans said uneasily.
He entered his new home and it was just right for the small, pudgy skeleton. No too big nor too small, it was just right. The first thing Sans did was too look for the notes that his dad left. Few minutes of searching, he finally found it on a rectangular table in front of the television. He read the first note as they were all labeled with numbers marked on the top left corner of the paper. He began to read it slowly:
NOTE #1
"Welcome to your new home Sans. Hope you don't find it too confining. Anyways, I'm here to tell you what to do next when school starts. You will head to the Principal's office inside. I'm pretty sure you can find it by yourself. You will be greeted by two principals, namely, Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna. They will surely be shocked when they see that you are a monster, so wear your hoodie when you enter the school. Only remove it when you are in the Principal's office. Last thing you want is someone screaming that a monster is lurking around the premises. I don't want you to be in that situation if it comes to that. Explain to the principal's that your father, Gaster, sent you here. You will be an official Canterlot High student then, so try to open up yourself with others. I know they will judge you just by looking at you but at least try. I don't want you to be alone there Sans. For now, that is all I could say. Feel free to read the others if you want. Also don't forget about THEM.
Sans read it all and he couldn't understand why Gaster didn't turn him into a human just like everyone else so that he could blend in with the peers. Maybe he couldn't or he can't really. Sans put down the first note and saw the others but he figured that could be read at another time. Next thing he does is to find the fridge and hopefully there would be ketchup because that was his favorite nonetheless. He found it easily and the refrigerator reflected a silver color and Sans could see a reflection of him. He opened and to his surprise he saw bottles of ketchup, lined up perfectly on the side. Looked at the middle, burgers in plastic were there to greet him. It was like heaven to him already. He grabbed a bottle of ketchup and gulped it all.
"G, you're the best."
After a few bottles, Sans felt satisfied and after a few minutes, he began to feel sleepy and he found stairs leading up. He dragged himself upstairs and there were two doors on both sides. He opened the door to his right and saw the bathroom. It had a shower and a sink, along with a mirror that was placed on the wall over the sink. Sans looked at himself and his face had ketchup, dripping down his smile. He washed it off and dried it with a towel that was hanging to his left, near the light switch. After, he opened the other door and to his luck, it was the bedroom. In order to make it feel like home, he replicated the room like his in Snowdin. Sans opened the closet using his psychokinesis and it offered some socks and he threw a few into a corner. Taking a few pieces of paper, he wrapped them into a ball and threw them in one pile. He created a self-sustaining tornado which picked the wrapped papers and began to spin by itself.
"Just like home..." Sans said. He found the bed and the skeleton faceplanted into the soft bed and began to drift away into his sleep.
Author's Note
This is my first crossover story so any constructive criticism towards it will be much appreciated.
Anyways, about this chapter, I know that it focuses more on Sans and not on the Main 7 but trust me on this one. This is just the prologue on how Sans came to the world of humans. I'll focus on the perspective of the Main 7 in the next few chapters.
Let me know what you think about this. I might edit a few parts but other than that, any comments will do.
See you guys in the next chapter. Ta Ta!
