Chapter 2: Coastal Sprint (Racer)

While the Speed Enforcement team were thinking about who was the driver of the Agera R. The same car was racing through Ponyville at about 190 Mph and was driving for a garage in a older part of town. The car raced by civilian cars, blazed through turns, and started to slow down as it reached its destination. After turning a corner the driver saw the garage and its front door was opened and was big enough to get a car in.

Then the driver pushed the break pedel and the Agera R drifted into the opened garage door as smoke came from the tires and spun around into the direction it came from. Then the car came to a complete stop as the smoke dissipated into the air. After that the car's engine was turned off and the driver side door of the Agera R which was is left side opened up upwards and the driver stepped out. The driver of the Agera R was a Pegasus stallion with a medium tinted turquoise blue coat with a blue spiky mane and tail, had green eyes, and had a strange blue fireball cutie mark.

This stallion wasn't any normal stallion and his name is none other than Sonic The Hedgehog the Fastest Thing Alive on Planet Möbius. Sonic was sent Equestria thanks to Chaos Control and Eggman's newest plan to take over the world again. But this time things went haywire and sent Sonic and his friends including Eggman and his robots to another dimension. Also Chaos Control mutated Sonic and his friends' DNA turing them into stallions or ponies.

When Sonic first woke up he found himself in a city made of crystal which was the Crystal Empire. Sonic wondered around the city for a while and later found an old building made crystal and inside was a abandoned 2013 Azure Blue Koenigsegg Agera R and it was in perfect condition still brand new not a scratch on it. To Sonic's luck the Agera R's keys were found in the car's driver seat and it was unlocked and the car also had a GPS too.

But when Sonic first started the car the GPS turned on automatically and locked onto a location in Ponyville. So Sonic drove for the destination as fast as the car can go and the car's speed was impressive to Sonic. But he didn't know he flew by Lightning Streak, Revving Speed, Jolt Stream, and Shining Armor on the highway to Ponyville and later pasted Twilight and Spike. But unlike all the racers Sonic drove on the right side of the road because he didnt want people to get hurt. Now back in the present Sonic had arrived at his destination that the GPS was locked onto and he could tell the building wasn't used in years.

Then Sonic said to no one in particular the inside of the building, "Whoa this place is huge! I wonder why the GPS was locked onto this place?"

Sonic soon got his answer as heard footsteps coming from behind him. The blue hero quickly turned around and got into a fighting stance, but then he remembered he wasn't a hedgehog anymore. Without his hands Sonic couldn't hit or punch anything, but that doesn't mean he couldn't kick them.

But before he could do anything a light grey coated and curly colored jet black mane and tail with blue eyes walked out of the shadows in front of him with a impressed smile. The Pegasus saw how Sonic drove his car and saw how well skilled he was at behind the wheel. Then she said to him, "So your the stallion that the racers on the streets were talking about. Your pretty well skilled and I may add equal to a cop."

Sonic tensed down a bit and didn't know who he was talking to and could tell that pegasus was a girl. But was she waiting for him when he got to town. Then Sonic said to the pony with a distrustful look on his face that also had a bit of a scowl, "Who are you anyway?"

The mare smiled and replied back the stallion pegasus turned blue hero, "My name is Checkered Rush. I'm a pony who checks on Racer careers in Equestria. But your driving skills are extremely well honed. How do you feel about starting a racing career?"

Sonic started to think about it for one he didn't know who this Checkered Rush was and how did she know about him passing that cop on the road. The blue blur was also thinking if he starts a street racing career he could be able to find Tails and the rest of his friends, find all the Chaos Emeralds, and maybe find Eggman and bring them back home. But on the down side Sonic knew if he does this then he'll become a suspect by the police and if he got caught he'll spending time in jail! But Sonic knew had to do it for Tails and the others or Eggman will take over this new world!

So with a small sigh Sonic then replied back to the mare reluctantly, "Ok I think I'll start a racing career. So where do I sigh up?"

Checkered Rush smiled and said. "Come with me."

Then she walked into the back the garage and Sonic followed behind her. Sonic hopped he didn't make a bad mistake, but he also hopped he would get to go on a new adventure. Little did he know Sonic was about to go on a high octane racing adventure of his life!

50 Minutes later

Sonic sat in a chair between 2 other stallions and were in front of a desk where Checked Rush was putting information about themselves on a computer. The 2 stallions looked completely different one had a whitish tan coat with a black and grey mane and tail, a year older than Sonic himself around 18, had a brown eyes, had a scroll cutie mark, and he was also a Alicorn just like Twilight. The other stallion was the same age and was pegasus just like Sonic, but he had a surgical blue coat with a smooth sea green mane and tail, had sky blue eyes, and had a scalpel for a cutie mark. Both of the stallions were looking at Sonic and knew he wasn't from around Ponyville.

Sonic was glad he finally blind in with the natives but he missed being a hedgehog. Then the 3 stallions heard Checkered Rush say to them, "Ok that everything. So let's get all 3 of stallions racing careers started."

Then the surgical blue coated stallion said to the mare, "Are you going to talk to us or let a video do the talking?"

Checkered Rush then replied back to the stallion. "I think this video will do better than me tell you 3."

Then with her right front hoof she grabbed a remote and pressed a button and projected came out as screen came down behind her from the sealing. The mare got up and moved the chair out of the way and started the video. As a short film started it opened to a scene of the Equestrian east coast and they heard Checkered's voice start the dialogue. "Entries into the Roadsters Reborn event confirmed."

Then music started playing as Checkered's voice then said, "In this showcase event you 3 will unleash the true potential of the Roadster as you 3 will compete against other driver along Equestria's east coastline." Then while the dialogue was going the scene-shots of four different cars they were a 2012 Porsche Boxer Spyder, a 2012 Nissan 370Z Roadster, a 2016 BMW Z4 sDrive35is, and a 2012 Tesla Roadster 2.5 Sport were parked in a garage waiting to go on the road. The cars looked clean and shiny not with one speck of dirt on them. Then a flying scene shot of a coastal road along the east coast was shown.

Then the dialogue sequence continued with Checkered's voice saying. "Use your driving skills to out maneuver the opposition and win to take a medal." Then the scene changed to a scene showing levels of racer with 3 plates showing names and pictures of Sonic and the other 2 stallions and in the background they could see a Pearl Orange painted Pagani Zonda Cinque parked in a garage.

Then the 3 heard Checkered's voice again as she said, "All 3 of your reputations is mesured in wanted levels. Right now you 3 arn't showing any activity and are classified by the EQPD as a Level 1 Speeders. The greatest drivers win the races and out run the law with style are classified at level 20: Most Wanted." During the film sequence it showed a the highest level of the racer level. Started from level 1 to level 20.

Then clips started to show racers driving on road in fast cars like 2020 Audi R8 Coupé Performance Quattro (Type 4S) and the Aston Martian One-77 during through a desert. Then the dialogue started again saying to them, "All of your daily activities are mesured in bounty. The harder, faster, and mare dangerously you drive the more bounty you 3 will earn."

Then the film showed more clips of a race red Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray running from a EQPD 2017 Ford GT then the dialogue started again saying, "Win races, beat your rivals, and stay ahead of the cops to increase your wanted level and get new cars and entry into the toughest events."

Then more clips showed more cars racing away from the cops and passed civilian vehicles. Then the dialogue started again and continued, "All your cars are fited with racer spec nitrous system. Use this system to a gain a rapid acceleration increase. Nitrous will only charge if you drive dangerously, drive in oncoming lanes of traffic, near miss other vehicles, drift corners, and take shortcuts to earn the most nitrous."

After the dialogue ended the screen went black and was the end of the film. Sonic was kinda worried about hitting someone on accident. But if this was going to help him find his friends, the Chaos Emeralds, and Eggman then it's a risk he'll have to take.

Then Checkered tossed keys to Sonic and the 2 other stallions and said., "Follow me. I'll show you to your new cars."

Then she got up and walked away with Sonic and the 2 other stallions following behind her. As the group walked down the hallway they took a left and led to a garage with 3 Spots Division cars parked in front of them. The first one was a 2012 sapphire blue metallic painted Porsche Boxster Spyder, the second one was a 2016 Passon Red painted Nissan 370Z Roadster, and the last one was a 2016 Atacama yellow painted BMW Z4 sDrive35is.

The keys Sonic got had the Porsche crest on one of the keys and found out he got the 2012 Porsche Boxster Spyder. Also the car was free and now he got 2 cars one Hyper Division car and one sports division car. The surgical blue coated stallion got the Nissan 370Z Roadster while the whitish tan coat Alicorn stallion got the yellow BMW Z4 sDrive35is. Then Sonic thought himself as he looked at his new car, 'Well at least I got new car. I wonder how fast that thing is?'

Then Checkered turned around and looked at the 3 and said, "I almost forgot about the event all 3 of you are about to enter. This event has restricted requirements as you may know some cars are locked at this time, but they'll become available as you gain bounty. The race begins at Manehatten and ends here in Ponyville. Good luck."

Sonic and 2 other stallions nodded and were ready to race! The 3 stallions raced for their new cars and opened their cars' doors and opened them and climbed in and closed their driver side doors. They also buckled up in their seatbelts and put their keys into their cars' ignition and started the cars as the 3 cars roared to life and were ready to roll! All three of them got phones with music on the music app which were IPHONE 7s.

Then the 2 stallions in their new cars raced off leaving smoke from the rear tires as a large garage door opened leaving Sonic in his new Porsche Boxster Spyder and he smiled with a grin ready to show some real speed. Then he stepped on the shift pedal and put the clutch into 1st gear and stepped on the gas pedal and the rear tires kicked up smoke and moved forward and went to catch up with the 2 other stallions.

2 Hours later; 3 miles outside of Manehatten;

Sonic was able to catch up with the 2 stallions in front of him and as the 3 reached the area where the race would begin 5 more cars came around too. The 5 cars pasted Sonic and he ended up in last place which was 8th and looked at the cars in front of him. There was a 2020 Mazda MX-5 (ND) Miata Grand Touring with a red paint job. Also there was 1 more Nissan 370Z Roadsters and was in a Magnetic Black paint job being driven by surprisingly a female Griffin. The last 3 cars were 2 Tesla Roadster 2.5 Sports painted in blue and grey paint job with the last one being a 2016 BMW Z4 (E89) sDrive35i painted yellow. The drivers of the 3 cars were 2 stallions and 1 mare who seemed very eager to get going.

Then all the cars started to get situated as the 2 stallions Sonic saw earlier were in front of the pack of cars. The whitish tan coated stallion was in 1st place and the surgical blue coated stallion was in 2nd place. As for Sonic himself well he was in dead last, but he can move up places during the race and earn the highest amount of bounty.

After Sonic pulled behind the blue Tesla Roadster 2.5 Sport he stopped and just after he did he turned on his phone and activated his music app and started on a song with a title 'Edge of The Earth' by 30 Seconds To Mars. Then the other cars' tires started spinning as smoke came from and the race was about to be begin then Sonic stepped on his gas pedel and his Porsche's rear tires spun making smoke and make the sound of rubber spinning on pavement at the same time. Then the car moved forward at the same time as the rest of the racers in front of Sonic accelerated forward! At the same time the music started to play from Sonic's new phone.

(Edge of The Earth By 30 Seconds To Mars starts.)

Sonic started to draft behind one of Tesla Roadsters as it started to gain speed as some nitrous was starting fill in the Porsche Boxster Spyder's nitrous system and Sonic drafted behind it as they reached 2nd gear then to 3rd gear and then 4th gear and was at the speed of 120 MPH. Then after getting out of the outskirts of Manehatten the drivers were in the eastern forested area of Equestria and were dodging oncoming traffic on both sides of the road.

Then the yellow BMW BMW Z4 (E89) sDrive35i which was in the oncoming line of traffic hit a Chevrolet Thao and spun around before landing on its right side and the 2 cars were in a wreak. Although the driver of the BMW was ok, but the pony driver and 2 colts were injured from the crash. Sonic saw that the BMW in his way and quickly he steered to the left and near missed the crash and gained bounty from his quick action! He back at his rear view mirror as the wreak disappeared into the distance and said to himself, "'Phew' That was a close one!"

Also thanks to that quick second dodge he did when he passed the crash Sonic was able to get in 7th place and had enough nitrous to pass the other racers! Then as a bonus thanks to the speed boost that was given thanks to drafting Sonic used his newly gained speed and slingshot past the 2 Tesla Roadsters 2.5 Sports and the Mazda MX-5 (ND) Miata Grand Touring at 156 MPH in 5th gear and managed to get into 4th place also earned some bounty after passing the other racers. Now it was time to get past the cars ahead of him.

Sonic saw a tight curve to the right was coming up as he started coming to it. Sonic stepped on the break pedal as came into the turn and turned the steering wheel as smoke and the sound of screeching tires came from his car as he drifted through the curve and near missed a car on the left side of the road. After coming out of the turn Sonic straightened his car and started to regain speed from his drift. He also gain some bounty and nitrous from his drift and it was at full capacity and ready to burn.

Then Sonic saw the last 3 drivers in front of him and was gaining on them too! Sonic smirked as he activated his car's nitrous system and blue flames ignited from his car's mufflers and was now going faster as the car raced past the second Nissan 370Z Roadster and Sonic could see a long winding curve up ahead and it was coming up fast. Sonic hit his break pedel again and kept his right hind leg on the gas pedel and turning the steering wheel Sonic drifted through the curve passing the 2 stallions who he met earlier as they watched in shock as Sonic left them in the dust as he was able to get straight again. Also he got some more bounty from his drift and also got some nitrous too.

Sonic used his nitrous booster again and reached a speed of 179 MPH leaving the competition in the dust. As Sonic got harder to see as he drove faster and he looked on his GPS that he only got 1.5 Miles to go until the finish line. Then Sonic saw a dirt road up ahead on the left and found out it was a shortcut. Sonic turned for the dirt road kicking up dirt from the back of the car and was gaining more nitrous too.

Then a few minutes later Sonic saw the he was heading back onto the road. As his new Porsche's tires hit back on the pavement again. Sonic used the nitrous he gained from his shortcut to go faster as he reached a speed 185 MPH and could see the outskirts of Ponyville up ahead and 2 red flares representing the finish line. Sonic gave the Boxster Spyder more gas and in seconds Sonic crossed the finish line first without a single dent or scratch on the car. Sonic left the finish line in a metallic Sapphire Blue colored blur as his car kept going and disappeared around the next curve.

Sonic looked at his on board system which showed him the results of the race. He got a large amount bounty from wining the race since it was first place around 4,000 bounty points. The bounty he also got from drifting, rising up in places, dodge the crash at the beginning of the race, and taking the shortcut from earlier gave him about 1,275 bounty points driving skill. Then adding the combined total of the bounty Sonic got from the race and winning the race gave him a large total of 5,275 bounty. Then added an extra 1,000 for personal best gave him grand total of 6,275 bounty. Thanks to the bounty he gained from the race Sonic unlocked 3 new cars first one was a 2012 Mazda RX-8, then a brand new 2020 Nissan 370Z Sport, and finally a 2009 Lotus Exige S.

A few seconds later Sonic came to a complete stop at a gas station so he won't cause a accident unlike the driver of the BMW BMW Z4 (E89) sDrive35i that crashed during the race. He was glad he won the race and wondered what other cars are there for him to use once he gets higher into the ranks. He'll just have to wait and see for that in the future and wondered if this is the right thing to do.

Then Sonic noticed the 2016 Atacama yellow painted BMW Z4 sDrive35is that was being driven by the whitish tan alicorn stallion pulled up beside the blue hero's Porsche. The stallion got out of the car and walked up to the high speed speedster who had a amazed look on his face. Then the stallion said to Sonic with a amazed tone in his voice, "Wow dude! You sure smoked us during the race earlier. I never thought the 2012 Boxtser could go that fast like its present generation."

Sonic looked at the stallion and said to him with a smile, "Thanks for the complement pal. Oh I didn't get your name earlier when we were at the racer career orientation earlier today."

The stallion realized this and said to Sonic in embarrassment as his cheeks blushed red, "Oh I forgot about introducing myself how rude of me. The name's Kenny. I live around the outskirts of Ponyville."

Sonic nodded in reply and said to the tanish alicorn with a friendly smile, "Nice to meet you Kenny."

Kenny nodded and smiled back before asking Sonic, "So what's your name? I never seen you around Ponyille before. Are you new in town?"

Sonic mentally gulped and knew he had come up with something and fast before Kenny realizes that he's actually talking to alien hero from another planet. So the blue hero said to the alicorn stallion with no sign of nervousness, "Yeah I just moved here from up north I live town at a garage I'm staying. As for my name it's Sonic Burst, but you can just call me Sonic."

Kenny raised an eyebrow and said to Sonic with confused look on his face, "Sonic Burst? That's a weird name for a Pegasus stallion to have. However it's nice meet you Sonic. Think I can stop by your place later today I have to run a few errands for my roommates at my apartment that I'm living with outside of town."

Sonic nodded in agreement and said to Kenny with a smile, "Sure thing pal. Well better head home and get it tightened up a bit. I'll see you a bit later then."

Kenny nodded back and said back to Sonic, "Ok then Sonic. See you later tonight."

Soon Sonic started up his Porsche Boxtser Spyder before driving out of the parking lot and onto the main road which led into Ponyville. Kenny then got back into his BMW Z4 sDrive35is and drove it through the lot and onto the main road in the opposite direction that led to his apartment. Sonic watched Kenny disappear into the distance and knew he made a new friend in this world and said to himself with a smile, "Well Kenny's quite the friendly stallion. I just hope I can get home in time without drawling any attention along the way."

So Sonic shifted his Boxster to 4th gear as the German sports car raced down the road heading towards home and get it ready for some company. Little did he knew this new adventure he was about embark on will be nothing like anything he had ever done. Not to mention run from the law.
