The journey of the hero named Gizmo. We didn’t know much about this turtle from a faraway land. She came not only to free us from the monsters who took over our home. But she brought others with her. While her time here she told us of her journey to find the heart of Dream Valley. If she can do what she said to us. Then we must join her there are rumors of Unicorns vanishing in a faraway land. Images of the undead goat of him returning. If these stories are true then we must leave Dream Valley and Grey Vale to join the final war.

The story of Bright Vale.

How should I say this? I wonder. I am one of the older creatures of this village. One who was cursed to live forever. NightShade tried hard to become a singer and did his best to do what he could. But he failed and almost gave up. But he found a cloud creature—a cloud creature who is like me.

I am known as Storm. I am a cloud being like Arabus was when he was finally defeated. I am another part of him that broke off from him, part of him that learned to live without him. I am like my own person. It’s time to wonder what is known but back to this story. NightShade was used to steal shadows of those who came to see him.

He did this till he even kidnapped foals and took their shadows. It wasn’t a pleasant moment. But even now I am too weak. I am just here to do what I can for those who survived for so long. Most of the creatures or ponies here have lived. They lived longer than most creatures who have ever been alive. For some reason, they’re connected to Night Shade. When Night Shade finally dies they will be able to die.

I don’t know how I know this. I just do it from inside my head. When the judges attacked he was the first to fall and did it quickly. Because he wanted to prove himself. What's even worse the heroes and villains of the story world did offer to help us. But their door is locked. The only way in is rumored to be in Dream Castle.

But something was about to happen. A creature known as Gizmo would come into this village to be a hero. But their method of being a hero would not only destroy this village. It would just make her not care,

I lifted my head looking at the guards and I gave them a nod.

“We have someone coming towards us, my friends. We need to be ready to confront them.”

Of course, I didn’t buy anything the fortune tellers told us the last few months. I wish I did for it was the only way to save us from what is about to happen. I quickly fly with the guards. We finally head to the gate while we stop the three. One of the guards let out a great loud

“HALT!!!”

Gizmo’s journey on the road to Grey Vale.

The sun hasn’t even gone down since we have been here. I look up at the sky blinking. Why does this place have such weird time issues?

“If you wonder why it’s still day. Ever since the heart of Dream Valley died and the sunstone was destroyed, it’s all connected to Flutter Valley. Most of what is going on in this land is connected to Flutter Valley.”

I look back up at the sky. I never understood this, but we are here to find Rosedust. To stop Omega but before I could say anything else. I finally saw the giant robotic creature the three of us stopped to stare at the robotic creature flying over.

“Omega…”

I softly spoke.

“So it does exist.”

I glance over the large rat.

“What do you mean?”

The large rat smirks

“There have been rumors of a large robotic creature. Many rumors are of this creature asking the way to Flutter Valley. But it also helped some of this land as well. It became a hero in one part of the land and it even tried to destroy an evil king. From what we learned it ended up here way before you and your friends did. One pony asked where it came from. Dove can finish this part.”

Dove chuckles.

“The creature explained it was brought back online by a magic eater named Ruby. The fact you’re friends with this Ruby shows it’s telling the truth and many creatures want to meet her. So now she will get a chance.”

I groan, shaking my head.

“Ruby didn’t even mean to wake the creature. She got mind-controlled since her creator Majesty used her to wake them up. I wonder what will happen to Ruby when they learn of her fate when we head back home.”

The others were about to ask when a loud yell was sounded.

“HALT!!”

The three of us stop staring at the guards and the cloud creature. I grab my hammer hilt and remove it from my back. I turn on the hammer getting into a battle stance. Goliath and Dove stare at me.

“Get out of my way I am here to find the second key to open the heart of Dream Valley. If you get in my way I won’t stop myself from killing you. I don’t have time for whatever bullshit and whatever you’re defending. I don’t have time for a self-righteous speech of right and wrong. Now get out of my way or explain what is up.”

Dove snickers and the large rat has a smirk forming across his snout laughing. The guards are caught off guard. How ironic it’s impressive I just had to say a few words to make them silent.

“Classy.. Hello, you must be Gizmo. I am Storm.”

I turn to see the cloud creature. I have seen a few of these creatures before. I figured some would know my name because of being close to Ruby. I knew sooner or later I would never be able to get away from her.

“I am here like I said I am here for the key as well as removing the bandits from some building.”

Storm chuckles.

“It seems the rats asked you to take care of their cousins then. But there is more to it. This entire city is cursed. It’s been cursed since the days of evil. But the best way to handle it. Well, the best way to handle it is to take care of all the bandits as well as what is in the shadows.”

I let out a very annoyed sigh.

“Look I get it. I am not here to free your land. But if it’s the only way to get to what I wish. Then I will do so. Now if you excuse me I will get something to eat.”

I don’t let the guards stop me. I walk through them. Dove and Golith follow behind me. When we fully get into the city proper. I look around, frowning, this city looks like the cities before the Lightbringer brought rainbows or whatever back. Dove frowns. I make sure to keep the two going.

“Let's get some food and then maybe we can figure out how to help them.”

The three of us walk through the broken city. Seeing the citizens look so gray and sick. I notice they have no shadows and I am guessing the one who took their shadows is the creature who fought them before.

“Gizmo there is an inn down the road.”

I turn my head to stare at Dove. I look at the sign looking down to the road. I notice many guards down the road. They’re pushing back what looks like broken citizens and desperate ones. I wish I didn’t have a heart. I feel bad for these people. But I have nothing to give them. I focus on my task of getting heading inside the inn.

When we get inside it’s pretty run down. From what I had to deal with this is pretty normal for me to see. I took a breath letting out a sigh. I nod to the others to find a spot to sit. I head to the owner after many eyes stare at us. Stood at the bar or the stand the owner stands.

“What can I offer you, hmm? A room, a meal?”

I just sigh.

“I don’t know what I have to use for payment here. I don’t have bottle caps or whatever else the world uses.”

The owner smirks.

“There hasn’t been any way to buy food here in years. All you have to do is prove you’re worthy of the meal and that is it. But you seem worthy of a meal. Now how can I help you? Allow me to get you something to eat.”

I give a quick nod.

“Can you give me three? I have friends here with me who wish to help me deal with an issue.”

The tender nods.

“So what brings you here?”

I let out a sigh.

“I am here to find the second lock to the heart of ponyland. I have also been asked to clean up this town. Is there the best way to do so?”

The tender looks up at me with a smirk forming across his face. He comes out of the shadows and it’s a pony. A large pony and he chuckles.

“Well, this town is run by a gang. I hire the guards. But I can only do so much. You will have to fight to the Mansion to get to them. I am also sorry to say you won’t get anyone to join you. The only way you will be successful is if you take them on.”

He lifts his hoof using his magic from his horn to make the food. I look over to a table and see a large old zebra. This one has a satchel. Wait a moment, this is Zeb? Is this town frozen in a time bubble like this entire land used to be?

“Question, then I know that zebra. Have you heard of Megan?”

The pony sighs.

“Yes, I have, I was living around the time she was here. She fought for us and we did all we could to keep things peaceful. But this land had another idea. It forces us to relive everything when the evil wizard is still here. You kill the zebra there and then finally break the spell. By killing what remains of the wizard. You will bring this land back to normal. It will cause many of us to start aging..”

I stroke my face with my robotic hand sighing.

“I see. It’s not something I wished to do. But I am here to help my friend finally get her task done. If I have to do this then so be it. It’s the best way to do it. All I got to do is fight him and then it will be easy to take on whatever is in the Mansion?”

The tender chuckles.

“It’s what we have been told of course. I highly doubt it will be that simple.”

He sets down the meals and I head back to the others sitting down and giving them the meals. I explain to them what is going on here.

“I see that this town is stuck in a time spell. So what do you plan on doing? Just going to do your task and not help them?”

I looked at Goloth who angered me with those words. I turn to see Dove look so sad and she looks up at me with tears in her eyes.

“Please Gizmo…Help them I know you don’t want to but they need you. Then I can finally help them and give them a peaceful life.”

I groan and just eat the large rat smirks.

“Ya know hon she is right. Fight for them and you will not have to worry about us anymore and we will come to help end the fight.”

I let out an angry groan. I finish my food then grab my hammer

“You two stay here then and protect these citizens just in case someone survives all this. I will return.”

I stood up and just walked out before the others said a word. I had it with this journey already. I want to be with those I love. I want to make sure Ruby is safe. I worry though I will not stand by her when the time comes. I feel that deep down I will be one of those who pull the trigger.

After the journey is over many months from now.

I stand there looking at the others who joined me in firing on Ruby. She is tied to the tree and standing beside me are Roll Roll, Soft Heart, Gem, Cranberry, and Hawk. We agreed to join in on this as we lift our weapons. I don’t know why I did this. I don't know why at all. A voice not far from us sounds off.

“Get ready. Aim.”

We get ready to fire.

Back to the story [The Mansion]

After those thoughts to myself for a bit of knowing I will never turn on Ruby. I made it to the Mansion. I found this strange though no one even welcomed me to it. When I go inside though I find many bodies of those thieves and killers I was told about. Standing in the middle of them is the old zebra Zeb.

“I did the job for you old turtle. But I need an answer from you.”

I stare at the zebra. I have no idea what he wants. But the look of guilt on his face is great. I wonder if this is another version of him. This land has always had a weird issue with time travel and I wonder if this Zeb is from another timeline.

“Explain.”

Zeb weakly smiles.

“Ruby still lives, correct?”

I quickly nod.

“Then… the attack my master and I did. Didn’t work this time. Then it means the timeline should have fixed itself. I guess it is a cruel sense of fate. I will never vanish since this land has always been this way to torture those who do evil.”

He stood over the bodies of the dead he killed. Opening his bag of shadows a machine gun comes out of the bag itself aiming it at me. He smiled weakly at me and with a chuckle he softly spoke again.

“We have faced each other many times before, Gizmo. I..”

He moved his coat just a bit. He shows he has a stopwatch in his chest. I stare at the Stopwatch just for a moment. I know what this stopwatch means. He has been in project Stopwatch like the one magic water Ruby told me about.

“You’re another creation of the ponies of the past used to fight the war.”

Zeb chuckles.

“Yes. I was part of Project Stormwatch. A group of judges were ready to fight Grogar when the time came or fight with him. But the Stopwatch brought me back here. Always back here. I went back in time before the war ended the world. I was captured like many who were part of Stopwatch. I never knew what was going on. I just couldn’t tell what happened in the future.”

I just glance at him.

“Question before you go on. Are you the final one who survived Project Stopwatch?”

Zeb stares at me confused. I would stop him. I never asked this question every time we had this fight in the various timelines.

“I am yes.”

A smirk forms across my face as he gets ready to fire. I turn and let the bullets hit my cybernetic metal shell. Then I quickly after the gun jams grab my hammer and I go in for the kill. He quickly gets out of the way but I hit the bag. It breaks something on the inside. A bunch of the shadows began shooting out including one of Ruby.

The shadow stares at me for a second before vanishing whatever happens during that one timeline. That one Ruby can finally rest. Zeb twisted his back leg to the point he couldn’t even run. He grabs another gun firing on me but it bounces off my cybernetic body.

Lifting my hammer I try again to smash him. The stopwatch starts working like this every time this battle happens. I am guessing and I feel myself since I am very close to him, time changing back to when the gun is aiming at me.

“Ruby still lives, correct?”

It’s the same question again. I had enough of this and it was only one time. I don’t have time for this. I click a button on my cybernetic arm, the hand forms into a small gun and I fire into his leg. He screams. But when I do this I notice the leg is in the same position as it was. I am confused. Maybe we have had this loop many times already.

“You know what. FUCK Time travel!!”

I scream with my hammer and smash down on the watch. Zeb screams in a great amount of pain. The Stopwatch begins going crazy. I am stuck in a time bubble watching many futures and pasts going by. When Megan and her friends came here and many other futures. I lift my hammer again quickly smashing down on the watch.

Zeb vanished from time itself leaving his bag behind. I destroy the bag after I pick it up. Letting the shadows out. I notice Ruby’s shadow is no longer part of the ones taken. I think I changed something maybe. Maybe not, I am unsure. I walk through the Mansion to find this creature I was told about.

When I get to the basement I notice the creature. The creature or the part of the Zeb’s master just floats there. It’s Storm, the one I met before. But this is not the same Storm. He is older looking and before I could speak to him. A flash hits my eyes and the location Storm hovered over the lock to the heart of Dream Valley was left behind.

A message was left on the wall.

‘Thank you Gizmo. You changed time finally. Ruby will survive the attack. Finally, this city will be free. Free of the pain the old me sent it into. Thank you, my friend. I shall see you again when you meet the younger me.’

I let out a groan. I hate time travel. I stand and put my arm in the lock. Like I was told to do and I hear a click. I don’t know what to expect but at least I used my cybernetic arm just in case I lose my arm because of some stupidity I am unsure of.

Now I wait for the door to open as the others do their journey.
