A New Change

About 1 and a half months later they had some work to do. After the events and incidents of the Friendship Games; Canterlot High School decides to invite Crystal Prep back to the school to make amends and to lessen the rivalry even more than they had already, but things might not go as planned. A conflict between Sunset Shimmer and Indigo Zap started after an injury (specifically a sprained/twisted ankle on Sunset’s part) during the Friendship Games might get in the way considering neither of them wanted the other around as well as Sunset’s condition might get some insults and Sunset had gotten pretty sensitive about it. The Wondercolts figured out that the Shadowbolts of Crystal Prep High never really do anything but study and other school-related stuff. Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle decide a dance party would be perfect to brighten the mood considering how the music video contest started to bridge the gap. Preparation and practice would be needed; much to Pinkie’s concern

“You don’t practice dancing!” She had complained but they reassured her it would be singing practice not dancing practice “Well maybe Sunset needs it.”

“HEY THAT’S NOT FUNNY!!!” Sunset yelled; responding to the remark “YOU KNOW I’M SENSITIVE ABOUT THAT!!! IT’S NOT MY FAULT I’M GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!! YOU KNOW THAT!!!” Sunset Shimmer shrieked in an embarrassed/frustrated rage

“Sunny calm down it’s going to be fine.” Fluttershy was set on calming the expectant teen down.
“I agree with Fluttershy.” Rainbow said; Sunset was being very loud. They were getting worried that she would scare her own child.

“WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN??? WHY DON’T YOU TELL PINKIE PIE OVER THERE TO SHUT UP!!!” Sunset still shrieked

“Oh boy” Twilight whispered under her breath “This is not going to end well.”

“I stopped talking when she started yelling” Pinkie said trying to end Sunset’s rage as well. Suddenly, Sunset let out a cry of pain and collapsed on the ground.

“SUNSET SHIMMER!!” the girls cried as they suddenly become very worried. They ran over to her and Fluttershy quickly examined her.

“The baby’s upset” she concluded while rubbing Sunset’s belly. Sunset whimpered and was breathing heavily because of her pain. “Shhh it will be alright; we’ll stay right here with you won’t we girls?”

“Of course.” they answered but worry hadn't left any of their faces. Sunset let out another cry of pain.

“Rainbow get Nurse Redheart NOW!” Applejack screamed. Rainbow used her power that she retrieved at Camp Everfree and sped down the halls to get Nurse Redheart.

“Nurse Redheart! Sunset’s lying on the gym floor in intense pain, you've got to help her!” Rainbow Dash was frantic as she spoke

“Oh dear!” Nurse Redheart realized the intensity of the situation “I’m coming!” she replied.

“HURRY HURRY HURRY!” Rainbow Dash shrieked; she was standing by the door very impatiently “She could be getting worse!” Nurse Redheart grabbed the bag of medical instruments from the desk and followed a very frantic teenager who was trying not to leave her in the dust until they got to the gym. When they got there, Sunset was in unbearable pain, clutching her belly and in tears.

“Don’t worry Sunset; Nurse Redheart is here” Twilight whispered as she noticed them come in. Sunset’s vision was blurry from her senses being overwhelmed by the pain but she could make out a gentle woman that was trying to help her so she put herself in a way that Nurse Redheart could help. Grabbing some things from the bag Redheart gave Sunset a better examination. Listening to Sunset’s and the baby’s hearts she couldn't find anything wrong; then she remembered that she had more specialized equipment in her office and would have to take Sunset there. But she couldn’t take an expectant, struggling teen in her arms, she was too heavy!

“I have to take Sunset Shimmer to my office, but I can’t get her there alone. Will you help me?” The girls were worried about this statement, but they knew that Applejack’s super strength could get their hurting friend where she needed to be.

“I’ll take her; I can pick her up as long as she doesn’t violently thrash around.” a worried Applejack offered, looking down at Sunset who was wrapped in Pinkie Pie’s arms, but she wasn’t acting like herself. Pinkie was ‘going Pinkamena’ and crying for her friend who was not looking too great.

“Alright Applejack ready?” Nurse Redheart asked.

“Yes.” Applejack said; looking down at Sunset again before giving the order to pick her up. She was sprawled on the floor obviously in a lot of pain and REALLY not feeling well. Twilight used her power to lift Sunset up and put her in Applejack’s arms before they all walked to the nurse’s office. Sunset yelped and gripped Applejack’s arm hard while she winced back at her pain while still holding her belly.

“Ooh” she winced, feeling her baby kicking inside her. Fluttershy saw the scene with worry

“Calm down Sunny please we’ll help you out.”

“It hurts so much!” Sunset responded without her usual strength in tears. Finally, they arrived at the nurse’s office and laid Sunset Shimmer on a bed.

“Comfortable Sunset?” Rarity asked, trying to help her friend; leaning down to where Sunset was lying

“I..I guess...it really hurts.” Sunset told Rarity.

“Hey this will work out just fine, but you just have to get through the now first.” Rainbow said trying to cheer her up. Fluttershy suddenly had an idea,

“Sunny is it alright if I rub your belly?” she asked.

“Sure, Fluttershy, just don’t push on it too hard.” Sunset Shimmer said painfully. Fluttershy started rubbing Sunset’s belly and humming a lullaby to her baby, and both Fluttershy and Sunset could feel it calming down. “Thank you.” she told Fluttershy. Nurse Redheart walked over and asked

“Well how are my littlest patient and my most frequent one doing?”

“Better I think it’s resting now.” Sunset replied; her strength returning, “I’m still very sore though.” she threw in quickly, realizing she left that out; she didn’t want them to think she had made a full recovery already. Nurse Redheart’s expression changed from worried to laughter

“I didn't expect you NOT to be sore!” she cried in laughter. Pinkie Pie walked over and apologized

“I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings I was only trying to look out for you, I didn’t know this would happen I’m really sorry.” her hair immediately flattened again as tears welled up in her eyes.

“Pinkie stop crying!” Sunset playfully snapped “I know how you feel.” Sunset Shimmer replied to show them she was joking (just a little).

“Maybe you could keep your voice down Sunset.” Twilight suggested looking down at Sunset’s extended belly.

“That’s a good idea, I don’t want to go through that again!” Sunset said beginning to rub her belly again, but she suddenly stopped and winced. Everyone gasped and rushed over to her

“Sunset are you alright!?” the girls cried

“Yes! I’m just really sore and probably shouldn't touch my belly right now.” she responded undaunted by the pain. Flash Sentry ran in soon after.

“Sunset are you alright?!” he asked.

“I’m fine Flash really; I just scared our baby, it’s resting now though.” Sunset told him to get him to calm down. Sunset then felt a lurch inside her as she realized “Or maybe it isn’t sleeping anymore!” she groaned and breathed warningly. Flash stepped closer to Sunset; putting a hand on her shoulder

“It will be fine we’re all here for you.” He said trying to help her feel better.

“I feel fine sweetie, just it’s powerful and I’m still hurting from its tantrum.” Sunset said taking his hand off her shoulder. “What the-” Sunset suddenly said.

“What?” Flash asked her.

“I can feel the baby up against my side but it’s not kicking me, I don’t know what it’s doing.” Sunset said in awe before letting out another cry of pain. She broke out in sweat, breathing heavily as her child pushed against her sore side. She was in a lot of pain. Flash picked her up, held her close, and the baby stopped pushing. “What?” Sunset asked confused about her baby’s sudden actions.

“I think it wanted you the entire time Flash.” Applejack said after all this. With that Flash smiled as Sunset hugged him. A few minutes later Sunset was released from the nurse’s office; she was able to stand on her feet without extreme struggling and shaking.

“Thanks for sticking by my side everyone” she said with a smile on her face. “You too Flash.” She said to him even though he was trying to stay out of the conversation. She walked over to him and kissed him with a content child inside her.
