Chapter 3

“Nooo…. Damn you. Damn you Covie bastards to hell!” Lee growled as he threw a pair of primed grendes at them. They tried to disperse but were shredded moments later.

Twilight covered her ears from the sound of the explosions, but soon lowered her wings and looked out from her nook in the trees. But what she saw, cast a look of pure terror across her face. The alien stood over two meters and was covered in heavy armor, in its four fingered hand some type of weapon. “Rowan look out!” She shouted as she pointed at the alien.

“Shit an Elite, get back into the trees and stay there!” Twilight did as she was told and covered her ears to try and drown out the sounds of gunfire.She turned back towards him and opened fire, the bullets from her smg slammed against a shimmering energy field. ‘Fucking shields and plasma weapons, why do they always have the better gear?’ She reloaded and kept firing as the Elite returned fire, the glowing blue bolts hit all around her, some hitting the ground and a spread hitting her across the chest, causing her to scream as she collapsed aginst the tree.

Twilight tried to do as Rowan had said, but the sound of her new friend screaming caused her to jump out and run to her side, Twilight jumped out and quickly put a shield around herself and Rowan, “Rowan are you alright?” she asked quietly as she pulled her helmet off. Her face was pale and her breathing labored. Twi quickly put up a shield around them as another burst of plasma fire slammed into the tree, a bolt barely missing her tail..

Rowan looked up in shock, as her eyes adjusted to a purple shield around her. “Twilight….run…leave me….its no use..” She gasped as she looked at he Elite who was firing madly at the Alicorn’s shield. ‘Her shield is comparable to Covie tech…funny.’ she smiled softly and closed her eyes.

An unrealistic thought

“Rowan you still with me?” She nudged her friend who groaned but remained unconcious. The Elite’s roar caused her to look up as he began banging on the shield. Sweat started dripping down her face as she struggled to keep it up. “What am I gonna do?….uh… I can’t use any spells while holding this up. Wait her weapon, maybe I could….” She lifted the rifle in her magic holding the dangerous end towards the Elite, pulling back the lever that Rowan had before and heard a round load in. “Celestia forgive me.” She squeezed the trigger with her magic and held it as a small opening opened up in her shield for the bullets to pass through.

The Elite’s shield shimmered at first but soon cracked under the constant barrage and his armored body was soon left exposed as she kept firing. “Graah!” he groaned as his flesh was shredded before he dropped to the ground, coughing a few times before laying still. Twilight gasped and dropped the weapon and stumbled back against the trees, as she started to hyperventilate before turning to the side and emptying her stomach into a patch of weeds. “ I killed somepony…..I…killed…I can’t…go home now…I’m a murderer.”

As she freaked out her thoughts brought her back home, if she ever got back. Everything was dark, a solid wall of shadows as she walked towards her castle. The doors were closed as she walked up and tried to push them open but they wouldn’t budge. “Hello is anyone there? Spike its me, I’m home.” She tried to push again but someone tapped her on the shoulder. Turning around she came face to face with Princess Celestia. “Princess why are you here, why can’t I get into my home?”

“You are barred from your home and barred from Equestria for your crimes.” She said slowly as she backed away and pointed with her wing down the road. Instead of Ponyville, the road showed the path to the badlands. “You are to leave now and never return or face punishment.”

Twilight backed away from the Princess” You’re exiling me from Equestria, why?” Her eyes were wide with terror as her mentor, her mother said this.

“You have murdered and killed, you’re now a threat to the rest of my little ponies and there for must leave, so no one else gets hurt. Your friends say you must leave as well.” The white alicorn announced as her friends stepped out of the shadows.

“Girls you’re all here. Please tell me you aren’t sending me away too.” her eyes started to fill with tears. The thought of her friends sending her away too was to much for her to handle.

“I’m sorry Twi, but I don’t need any murders near my farm or family. You have to leave.” AJ said calmly as she took her hat off and looked down at her hooves.

“Sorry Twilight but you need to leave town.” Rainbow said her eyes staring at the ground, Fluttershy didn’t say anything just hid behind Rainbow.

“Darling please you need to leave.”

“Twilight I’m sorry, but you can’t be around for anymore parties or any fun things, because you’re now a big meanie.” Pinkie said solemly, her mane deflated.

Twlight was sitting on the steps in tears, first the princess now her friends. She couldn’t handle anymore, everyone she loves was telling her to go away. No one wanted her anymore. “Gir…Girls no.. please.” she gasped as she saw Spike standing by one of Princess Celestia’s forlegs.”Sp…Spike?” she held her hooves open to him, but he shook his head and ran behind Celestia’s back legs and started to cry.

“Please Twilight….Go away, you’re a scary monster now.” He muttered through his tears.

The words hit her like a train as she felt her heart shatter into a thousand shards. That was the final dagger, as she threw her head back and screamed to the stars. “Nooo!” As her cries echoed around them, the shadows closed in on everyone else and swallowed Twilight.

Changed. For better or for worse?
