"Silver!" I shout, banging my hoof on his apartment door. "Silver!" I shout again. This time getting the response I was hoping for.

"Whaaaaaaaat!?" He whines after he opens the door. "Do you have any idea how late it is?"

"I doesn't matter. The Royal Archive is open twenty four hours a day. Come on!" I tell him, then proceed to grab his front left hoof and pull on him. He pulls his hoof away and yawns.

"It's almost midnight. Go to bed, we can go there in the morning." He says, turning around. I jump into the air and fly into his apartment before he gets the chance to close the door. I then land behind him.

"Get dressed mister! We're going to the archives. Besides, I know exactly who the pony on the table is." I say, adjusting my wings.

"Now how'd you figure that out?" He asks, closing the door and turning to face me.

"Princess Luna." I say, walking over to his couch and sitting down. "She was wondering if I handled missing pony cases. I said I don't but you do, and i would tell you the case if she told me."

"And?" He asks, sitting down next to me.

"She said she had a Bat-pony missing. Polished shield. Exactly who's on the table." I tell him. He yawns a response.

"Why didn't his file say he was one of Luna's Bat-weirdos?"

"Hey!" I repremand him, hitting him in the shoulder. "Be nice!"

"Ouch..." He complains.

"The file didn't say it because Luna specifically requested it didn't say so. She doesn't want them singled out as 'weirdos'. But I might have to talk to her about that, because it does make us look differently for certain things." I tell him.

"Differently towards what?"he asks me.

"Bat-pony Unicorn or pegasi have different skeletal markers than a normal pony. Like, a bat Pegasus's wings are thinner and longer than a normal Pegasus. And a unicorn's horn is made differently. Then their bones are made differently all together." I say, earning another yawn.

"Wow, you did your homework." He says sarcastically.

"Don't be a dick. Just change because we're going to the archive."

The Royal archives are part of the Canterlot Castle. It's in the basement, attached to the Guard barracks and armory. You have to have certain clearance just to get into the barracks, even more so for the armory. Then you have to be really special to get into the archives. Luckily, Silver and I where deemed special.

"Here." I say, hoofing silver the metal strip that grants us access to the archives. "Put it in your badge-wallet. It allows us into the archives." I tell him. He nods and does so with his magic.

We walk up the stairs to the castle, then walk into the castle, being stopped by guards at the door. Silver and I flash him our badges. He nods and puts his hoof out, showing us access to the building.

"I'm, excuse me? Sir?" I ask him. A deep and gruff "yes?' was my response.

"First time here, um, wheres the archive?" I ask, putting my badge back into my trench coat.

"Follow the hall to the left, then there are signs heading to the barracks. Ask the barrack guards to go further." He tells me.

"Thank you, sir." I say, then walk the way he said, Silver tagging behind me. I get to the end of the hallway and see the signs he was talking about. I follow them until I'm stopped by another guard. I grab my badge and show him. He nods.

"Which way, to the, archive?" I ask. He then points to another sign that was an arrow, with the word 'archive' right on it. An embarrassed red rises to my face and I not.

"I-i didn't see that. Thanks." I say, shamefully. Then I walk down where the arrow was pointing. Silver tried to my side, smirking.

"Need some glasses?" He asks.

"Shut up." Was the only retaliation I could think of.

"Mabey, you could get a pair like the librarians wear. Big, red rims, bifocals." He says.

"Oh look, the archive." I say, hastely changing the subject. I push open the doors and see rows upon rows of bins filled with files.

"Okay, well.... Weapons records, this way." I say pointing to the left after reading a plaque.

Walking, I looked down the isles. Seeing the occasional Guardsman or librarian organizing some files.

A couple more seconds and I made it to the weapons records.

"Alright. Here, write these down somewhere." I tell Silver, pulling out the piece of paper with the serial number on it.

"T7305-WXPRNCS" i read off. Just as he finishes writing it down on his own piece of paper, one of the librarians walks over.

"You won't find any records on that one here, deary." She says to Silver and me. Silver turns around to face her.

"Why not?" He asks.

"May I see the paper?" She asks, then grabs it with a hoof even Silver holds it out to her.

"You see these letters here?" She asks, pointing to 'PRNCS'. After hearing Silver and me agree, she continues. "They mean Princess. Meaning we won't have this on record, because it's not assigned to anyone besides Celestia or Luna. And these letters here 'WX' mean that this was a war series spear head. Meaning that the spearhead is Most likely used as decoration now." She says. Nodding to herself, she hooves the paper back to Silver.

"Wait, how did you know it was a spearhead?" I ask her. She grabs the paper again and points at 'T73'.

"That is the combination saying it's a spearhead, and the '05' means it's the fifth one made." She tells us, then hooving the paper back.

"Thanks you ma'am." Silver says. "Where might we go to find out about this spearhead?" He asks.

"The princess herself, Luna or Celestia. They would know." She says, turning around and walking away.

"Let's go talk to the princesses." I say.

I go through the usual 'why you here' thing at the throne room doors. I get through, and so does Silver. We walk down the throne hallway and reach the throne, atop it is Celestia.

"Celestia! Can I speak with you for a second?" I ask.

"Sure, what do you need, Andreah?' she asks.

"Do you recognize these numbers and letters?" I ask, and Silver levitates the paper up to her. I watch her read it and The colour drain from her face. Or, the bright white drain from her face.

"T-thats my spear's serial number." She says.

"Do you have any idea why we found it under the remains of Polished Shield?" I ask her.

"N-no, I don't." She says, visibly beginning to get off the throne.

"I'm sorry, Celestia, Article 7 of the RCIS hoofbook mandates that if there is probobly cause, the suspect must be arrested, regardless of status." I say.

"Come with me." Silver says, going up to Celestia.

"Why would I go with you?" She protests.

"I'm sorry." I say. "Princess Celestia, your under arrest under the suspicion of the murder of Polished Shield."
