Tribulations by Earth

PROLOGUE: REMEMBER

They say that those who don’t remember history are doomed to repeat it, a saying that seems common knowledge, but alas, rarely practiced. For years we preach for peace yet we continue to choose bloodshed. We want forgiveness but instead, we only provide hate. We claimed to be innocent only to become monsters eventually. That was when it became obvious. We were the very things that we despised, the evils we seek to dispose of. Now we can only look back at the past with regret. If only we had learned from the mistakes we had made. If only we could see the paths we were heading for, the future we were making our hasty decisions, our narrow retrospection, and our vast knowledge. Because of this short slightness, peace will never be obtained. History will continue to cycle through the darkness and misery, one day at a time. Always have been. Always will be. The questions we have to ask ourselves is how did this all come about? When did this all go wrong? It will take years to figure out the answers to these questions. Probably a more advance, a more resounded form of life would be able to find out what we did wrong or how we could have avoided this future. But for now, it has always been too late. The time has passed for peace. We are now barely emerging from the ashes of war, our souls soak in the blood of our adversary. If there is a higher power out there that will judge us, please noted that we try to seek a different route. We tried to prevent this from happening. But who can blame us for this outcome? It seems destruction is really in our nature. Guess it should come to no surprise of what would happen when we encounter another species like we did on that fateful day.

For what you are about to witness is something that we thought would never happen. It was all an accident really, a one-in-a-million chance of happening. But nevertheless, it happened. The story that is about to unfold is not one you should take lightly. This is a story to teach, to give a lesson that will help others avoid the same path we took. That is always the purpose of a story, isn’t? However, this story isn't one for comfort or reconciliation. It will be a question that will be forever debated long into the unforeseeable future. Who is to blame? Us or them. But for you, this story will hope to teach you the errors we took, the pain this conflict causes. For now, that will do.

This is the story of the encounter between the Humans of Earth and the Ponies of Equestria and what shortly followed. This is how it all began and what led to us survive through the horrors that came with it. There are mistakes upon mistakes that has transpired in these past few years. Horrors that we couldn't comprehend, terrors from an abyss that we could not turn away from. The clashing of powers that have yet to meet. I just wish we could have prevented this fallout from happening.

For it began a tale of an unprecedented journey through a hidden world which we didn’t know.
