War of Survival

The Crystal Empire is a place of love, compassion, and fellowship. It is here that all love radiates, where all hope stays. That was the place where the Crystal Ponies and now the Yaks stand side by side as a wall of an army to protect it.

Form who though?

From the Yetis of course. Over the opposite side of the army stood a horde of Yeti marauders in battle formation with their warbeasts next to them and as they noticed a big throne-like ice chariot that was pulled by two mammoths in the center. On that throne-like ice chariot was there a Yeti sitting on it and he had a chaotic 'fancy' armor on him. Shining Armor and Cadence assumed that he is the leader of these white furred warriors.

The Yeti horde was there at least fifteen thousand strong armed warriors at their finest and readied for combat. In the front lines were the Armor-clad berserkers of the Yetis, their weapons and armors are enchanted with chaos magic that would make them more lethal and durable. They were in a straight line, blocking the army from passing them and were wielding long dual axes, maces and swords, the only things that's in their way are the line of their war mammoths with steel plates and Yetis on their backs. Behind them were six warbands of Yeti hunters with all kinds of weapons, two hundred in each warband. Even though it's barely, they were wearing chaos-enchanted armour, crude in their design and hard as their discipline. Each warband held long stakes with the severed heads of Yaks. They wielded long swords, battle axes, round shields and throwing spears that were thirsting for blood. Infront of them were a line of Frost Trolls with their huge warhammers the crush and smash their enemies with. Behind them were catapults and trebuchets ready to throw shoots of chaos infused boulders. Growling around them, both in the flanks and inside the warbands, were their warbeasts. Among the warbands are the Dire Wolves ready to fight next to their Yeti masters. On the flanks there are alot of Sabretooth, Woolly Rhino and Cave Bear mounts with many Yetis on their backs. Behind the catapults and trebuchets, another six warbands of Yeti hunters with the same weapons and armours as the six warbands after them. But behind them stood five Frost Wyrms on the ground, they are ready to take flight when the battle starts. Around the big throne-like ice chariot are eight Yeti Chaos Shamans ready to cast spells to assist.

The only thing that stands in their way is the unifyed army of Crystal Guards and Yak warriors. In the front was the Crystal Guards with spears to form a spear wall against the charging barbarians. Behind them are there Crystal Unicorns, ready to use their horns to shoot magical bolts as a way of artillery. Behind them were Crystal Pegasii ready to take flight and attack their enemies from the sky. In the flanks of the Crystal Army were none other than the remaining Yak warriors, thirsty for vengance. Together they are about twenty five thousand soldiers, the Yaks are furious fighters who would rather die before defeate. But the Crystal Guards can't remember the last time they were in combat so they mostly hope that they won't have to fight.

Even though the Crystal-Yak army had the numbers, the Yetis have both their mighty warbeasts and the blizzard supports them to increase the weight of their enemies' arms and armors.

In that big throne-like ice chariot with mammoths, King Hercules sat up there with his royal armor on with his scepter.

In front of the Crystal-Yak army were the leaders of them both; Shining Armor, Cadence, Burrok and Rutherford staring at the Yeti horde, they aslo notice the big throne-like ice chariot and the one who sit on it. While it happens, Hercules stare at the army both of those murderers and who help the murderers. Minutes past before Shining Armor feel his wife's hand hold his, when he look at her, he sees her pleading look and knows what she is asking.

"Our soldiers must stand down... I want us to have a talk with their leader." Shining Armor suggested.

"WHAT, Yaks don't talk! Yaks crush enemies!" Prince Rutherford yelled.

"And maybe that's why they attacked you to begin with." Cadence said without thinking, causing Rutherford anger to grow even more but his father manage to keep his anger at bay.

"Talking to them is the last thing we need to do." King Burrok said in disagreement.

"Don't be so rash, I want us to know our enemies before anything else." Shining Armor said as he and his wife started to walk towards the field, to the Yak leaders disappointment they followed.

As soon as King Hercules saw the leaders of the army come alone, his mammoths started to pull his chariot foward to also have a talk to them. After a few seconds of leaders walking towards each other, the pony and yak leaders where confronted by a Yeti riding on a cave bear, that Yeti was no other than Talmar with a pike blade. He stood in their way.

"Sir... We like to have a word with you leader." Princess Cadence asked, tried to be polite.

"You may speak to me." Talmar said sternly.

"Move aside, monster!" King Burrok demanded, causing Cadence's disappointment.

"YOU will hold your filthy tounge, murderer!" Talmar said with anger. The Yaks were about to burst into rampage but a flash light of stars came infront of their face, causing the Yaks' anger were replaced with confusion. Shining Armor was the cause of that.

"We just came here to make something very clear, you have committed a serious crime by attacking our allies." Shining said with a serious face but remained calm.

"None of it would have happened if they never committed murder! These monsters next to you spilled first blood." Talmar said from his cave bear with a very, VERY serious tone.

"It would never had happened if your people didn't attacked Yak calfs" King Burrock said accusingly.

"That is a LIE." Talmar said with rage as he jumped from his bear and landed to the ground. "Five of our scouts came to make friends with you and instead of welcoming them you killed two of them without provocation!" Talmar said with anger in his voice.

"LIES!" Prince Rutherford yelled and was about to attack but was stopped by the arm of his father while Talmar stood his ground.

While it all happened, King Hercules watches from his seat and heard some of their 'conversation'. He decided to go down there to give some of his words to them. He lightly pushed Talmar aside to come, earning everyone's attantion.

"Equines, are they your allies?" Hercules asked Shining and Cadence while pointing at the Yaks.

"They are." Shining Armor said, making Hercules disappointed.

"All you are doing is making thing worst. These murderers killed two scouts who came to them in peace and by helping them, your race has declared war on the Yeti race." Hercules said and then make his way back to his chariot before he was stopped by Cadence's voice.

"Please sir, you don't have to do this, there's no need for war. There are thousands of innocent life here and the other lands, no one wants to have another war to lose those who are close to them. Isn't there anything that can help out, to reverse the terrible event?" Princess Cadence asked and that earned King Hercules' attention.

*Canterlot Castle*

Princess Celestia was performing her nightly ritual of getting ready for bed. She was sitting in front of her mirror combing her constantly flowing mane until a letter appeared in front of her.

“A letter from Cadence.” Celestia said as she opened the letter and read its contents as she read the letter’s contents her eyes grew wide and her face turned to horror at what the letter said.

//Dear Aunty Celestia\

There's something horrible happened. The Crystal Empire is under siege by an army!

What first happened was that our allies, the Yaks came to us as refugees, telling us that a horde of white fured ape-like creatures attacked them and drove them away from their home. When those creatures came to the empire with their army, they called themselves Yeti. Those "Yetis" claimed that they send five scouts to the Yaks to make friends with them but that the Yaks killed two of them without even listening to them. The Yaks denied it and claims that the Yetis attacked them without reason.

Their leader demands that we turn the Yaks over to them for trial. We have until sunrise or they will attack us. We need help. I don't want any fighting. If you can do anything to stop this war before it begins, please do it now. Before sun rise.

Cadence.

As soon as she finished reading this letter she horried to write a letter of her own.

"I hope I can get Twilight and her friends to talk to these 'Yetis' and try to make peace with them. Also, I would like to know more about them, I would rather be friend with them than having them as an enemy, no matter what the Yaks accused them of. I have to make sure that war never happens in Equestria." Celestia said to herself with both fear and hope. Fear because despite her ability to move the sun, she cannot let it stay more than it needs to she has to move it when her sister's duty is done. She just hope that Twilight and her friends can make it to the Crystal Empire before these Yetis attack and hopefully they would listen to reason before they attack. Once she finished her letter to Twilight, she wrote one for her niece to tell her the plan.

*Crystal Empire, a few hours later*

(Yeti side)

Outside the city of the Crystal Empire the Yeti horde waits their respond about turning over the Yaks for their trial. It was night and they said they would wait until sun rise. After a few hours of standing and waiting there, they heard and saw a magical smoke comming from above them, the same kind of smoke that left the empire (which was the letter transportation).

"That magic smoke again, it has returned to it's original place. We should charge now before something else happens." Talmar looked at King Hercules with his worried advices.

"I gave these equines until sunrise, we will wait." King Hercules made himself clear to his advicer.

(Crystal/Yak side)

Inside the crystal palace, the leaders of the Yaks and Prince Shining Armor are still debating of what to do. Shining Armor tried to reason with the Yaks about stand trial and also try to figured out if the Yetis claims were true. But the hot headed Yaks just turned deaf ears and absolutely refuse, they still claims to be 'complete' innocents and have done nothing wrong at all. What's worst is that they begin to question the alliances between the ponies and the yaks. While they were at it Princess Cadence recieved a message from her aunt, Celestia, that she will send Twilight and her friends to make peace with the yetis before sunrise. Cadence hope that Twilight would hurry.

*In a train*

Inside a train that is on it's way to the Crystal Empire were six special ponies on a mission. Those ponies happens to be the bearers of the elements of harmony; Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. As soon as Twilight Sparkle recieved her letter from Princess Celestia, she woke up all her friends since it was night time. She woke them up and told them about the war threat they all hurried to the train station and made their way to the Crystal Empire, they know they must be there before sunrise.

"Whoever those 'Yetis' are, do they really need to bring war for something bad happened to them?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"These creatures claims that the Yaks attacked them when they tried to befriend them, I wouldn't be surprised if that was true." Applejack speaks her mind.

It dosen't matter how it all happens we need to find a way to make peace with them and solve this problem before it gets out of hoof." Twilight Sparkle said to her friends with concerns. She was mostly worried about her brother and sister-in-law, she dosen't want anything bad happening to them. After an hour or two, the train stopped... AT APPLELOOSA!!?

"WHAT!!!!!!?" They all shouted.

"Why are we not at the Crystal Empire!?" Rainbow Dash asked in the sky.

"Why in Equestria did we stop here?" Rarity wondered.

The girls still ask themselves that and wonder until the train conductor speak out loud.

"Sorry ponies! This will be our stop due to there are sheeps and cows sleeping on the road!" The train conductor said.

All the girls were shocked to the core that the train stopped by sleeping sheeps and cows, once they saw it with their own eyes.

"CURSE YOU SHEEPS AND COWS!" Pinkie Pie shout out loud with her fist in the air. Now the girls must find a way to make it to the Crystal Empire before sunrise.

*Crystal Empire*

While Shining Armor and the Yak leaders still debate, Princess Cadence notice the sun is comming and Twilight still haven't come.

"Oh, no." She said quietly to herself.

The sunrise was even seen by the Yeti horde.

"The sun rises sire and they still house the murderers." Talmar said to King Hercules and it earned the attentions from other Yetis.

King Hercules was really hoping that the Crystal ponies would have some sense of honor, he was proven to be wrong about them. He could not been more disappointed. Why do they help and believe those monsters? What have they done to earn their loyalty? Now that their time's up, Hercules have no choice but to keep his words

"sighing Begin." King Hercules ordered with a heavy heart.

Right after his words, the Yeti warhorns blows. The catapults and trebuchets start to fire their chaos balls; catapult at the army and the trebuchets at the city. Those chaos balls cause alot of damage, they killed alot of crystal ponies and yaks with their hits and destroyed alot of buildings.

While the artillery bombard, the yeti warriors of chaos charge along with their warbeasts. Both in panic and by instinct the ponies and yaks respond with their own charge, the chaos balls took out alot of their comrades out and it angers the yaks mostly. The Frost Wyrms take flight to wipe out the empire's air force and the yeti war mammoths were the first line of attack. As the armies clash against each other, the war mammoths manage to break through the pony/yak line and cause disorder in their ranks, sending their soldiers flying around, their limbs were literary teared off and worst of those who were unfortunate were also stomped by the mammoth's giant feets, that turned them into blood pools.

The mammoths left behind themselves a mess of crystal ponies and yaks who are in disarray, that gave the yeti marauders the advantage to kill them. The Yeti horde are breaking through very quickly. Even though the Crystal Guards and the Yak Warriors fought back and put up a fight against their enemy, they all noticed that for each yeti marauder that fell he took at least three yaks and five ponies with him and to make matters worse the huge Frost Trolls and their large warhammers crush the ponies and the yaks into (literary) a bloody pulp, a dozen soldiers for each smashes. Even the other Yeti warbeasts are killing alot of enemy warriors.

It didn't take long before Yeti horde manage to break the line and storm the city, the Crystal Empire's pegasus soldiers tried to help out but they were all taken care of by the Frost Wyrms and their frost beams from their mouths. Everyone starts to run for the lives, Crystal Ponies and Yaks alike from the vengeful Yeti Warriors of Chaos. The rulers of the empire and the yaks saw in horror how these barbarians manage to over run them in a matter of seconds.

"We must get everypony out of here!" Princess Cadence told them.

"We can't let us selves lose to savages!!" King Burrok argue against her.

"WE HAVE ALREADY LOST!!! IF WE KEEP FIGHT WE WON'T BE ABLE TO PROTECT ANYONE!!!" Princess Cadence yelled out from the top of her lungs in anger and desperation of helping her subjects.

Shining Armor didn't like to retreat but his wife is right, protecting his subjects is far more important than fighting a loosing battle.

"Soldiers! Get all our civilians out of the city, get them all out! Fall back now! Fall back to Equestria!!" Shining Armor yelled out.

Shining, Cadence and their soldiers (along with a few yaks) quickly abandoned the field and all around they could see the snow drenched in the blood of both their comrades and the enemy while the Yeti marauders shouted in a bloodcurdling roars while cutting down whatever Yak who still stand and fight. King Burrok and Prince Rutherford stayed to fight, it didn't take long for them both to be killed by Sabertooths.

King Hercules saw that the battle is won and the Crystal Ponies starts to run away, he ordered his warriors not to follow them and secure the city for themselves. The Crystal Ponies and Yak civilians who were left behind and was caught by the Yetis was given a choice by Hercules to either leave or stay in their homes on the condition that they will follow Yeti laws. With the city secured, Hercules and his Yetis starts to walk around the city. They found the crystal heart and feelt the power inside it, Hercules ordered his warriors to bring it to the shamans for study. While they were at it Hercules kept looking around but he know one thing though, his race, his kingdom and he himself are now at war.

But he will fight for what's right.
