Me and Applejack had gotten ready, her childhood friend Rara was due to perform in a hour and we were going to watch. Applejack asked “Are you sure this a good idea?”

I said “Like Ah said, what could possibly go wrong?” I blinked for a few seconds as I heard a loud groan.

Applejack asked in confusion “Did you make that noise?”

I said “No, Ah didn’t.”

Me and Applejack jumped as Pinkie Pie jumped out of the sink, she said in a serious and dark tone “Stop tempting fate, I just yelled at by four other mes to tell you to quit tempting fate. In fact one of them threatened to kill me, so unless you want me dead you better stop.” Pinkie then dissapeared back through the sink.

I blinked for a few seconds, confused. Applejack stared at me darkly “You better stop saying what could possibly go wrong, Ah don’t think Ah’ve ever seen Pinkie that serious. When she is this serious you better not mess with things.”

I gulped “Ah promise, cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in mah eye.”

Applejack said “Good, as for what Ah’m worried about, well it’s not the right time. Rara told me her schedule for the next year not long before we met and she is not due to visit here for another 5 months.”

I asked “Do ya think something's wrong?”

She replied “Ah’m not sure but we should keep our guard up.” I nodded as we headed to the open air concert hall.

I asked as I caressed her transparent yellow wings “Why don’t you use your wings, Ah’ve never seen ya use them?”

She replied “Ah don’t know how, Ah have tried to do what the other lings do but it doesn’t work.”

I said “Ah will have to teach ya then, Queen’s wings work differently than normal changeling wings.”

She said “Thanks, it would help” She then asked “Could you also help me with magic, Ah’m still not getting it, Ah can lift a basket and nothing more.”

I said “Of course mah Sweet Apple, now let’s take our seats.”

We watched as Rara has started singing, I smiled her voice was incredible. I kissed Applejack half-way through which caused her to blush slightly, I was amazed at how little the ponies reacted to us during this event. We even started to cheer as the concert went on, hours past quickly and the music died down.

Just as we moved towards Rara she said “It’s good to see you two.”

I asked confused “How do you know me?”

“Rara” laughed as she said “Forgive me, it seems I given up something a little to easily.” I watched “Rara” transformed into a changeling queen with red eyes and chitin.

Applejack roared “How dare you capture my friend?’

The Changeling Queen said “It wasn’t easy, she took knocked most of my drones multiple times but it was well worth it to lure you two into a trap, she escaped unfortunately but no matter I got you two.” We watched in horror as the crowd turned into changelings. She said “It was very easy to capture the crowd,” she then shouted “Kill th!...”

We watched as a hooded earth pony cut her head off with a sharp blade. She said “Unlike Chryssi, you are not smart enough to knock your opponents out with gas.”

I asked “Who are you?”

She removed her hood and Applejack shouted “Rara what happened?” I stared at the mare, her left eye had a large scar over it and she was holding in her hoof a longsword, her muscles were similar in size to Applejack’s. I was most surprised by her armour, it was made of hemp and looked very durable.

The Changelings shouted “You killed our Queen!” They were all about to charge when a much larger cloaked pony cut through thirty changelings with a single well timed swing of her scythe. The changelings gasped and flew out of there scared of the new threat.

Applejack frowned as she asked “Who are you?”

She said in a mocking tone “I would have to be a real monster to let my daughter and my soon to be daughter in law get hurt.”

I gasped instantly while Applejack was still trying to figure it out, I whimpered sadly “Mother.” Applejack looked at me and my mother removed her hood as she smiled at me with her toothy grin.

Applejack turned around and I felt the anger coming of her as she shouted “CHRYSALIS, HOW DARE YOU RETURN!”

Rara said as she kicked the Dead Queen’s head with her boots “Relax Applejack, she saved me and we have been freeing ponies from these Changelings.”

Chrysalis said grinning “Yeah and we’re getting along well, real well.” Our jaws dropped as Rara kissed her on the cheek.

Rara said “I think we broke them.”

Chrysalis replied “Oh we definitely broke them, once they snap out of it we will go and have a double date, it will be fun.”

Rara asked “But she’s your daughter isn’t that going to be embarrassing?’

Chrysalis said “Not really my mother did it with me.”

Rara replied “Oh okay, we’ll do it.”

I blinked as my mind had just returned to the conversation and turned what I heard into actual information. I said “Well Ah do know a decent place around here, it’s where Ah took Applejack on our first date.”

Chrysalis said “Well let’s go.” I nodded as I shook Applejack and informed her of the situation.

She said trying to keep calm“Ah’m not sure about this but for Rara’s sake.”

I then asked “Actually before you go, how about you tell of how you two met?”

Chrysalis smiled “Very well, we’ll tell you.” We struggled to maintain our composure as Rara and my mother kissed again.
