I said “Applejack, watch and learn.” I flapped my large wings and soared through the sky, I must admit I missed doing this. I haven’t really done a lot of flying since leaving mum’s hive. I then landed next to Applejack who looked nervously at her wings. I smiled knowing what will give her a push “Come on, Twilight figured out how to fly and she was a librarian, don’t tell me that you can’t.”

I smiled as she darted into the air in anger her wings flapping perfectly. She scowled “That hurt you know.”

I smirked “Look at you, ya flying.”

Applejack looked around and gasped as she saw she was in the air. She screamed “How do Ah get down?!”

I said “Um, look uh….” I flew up net to her said “Just follow my lead.” I flew down adjusting the angle of my wings landing on the ground. She tried to match my technique but ended up crashing into the ground, I gasped “Are ya alright?”

Applejack replied “Ah’m fine, just a little sore.”

I said “Hmm, maybe we should do some magic. Ah don’t want ya to hurt yaself.”

Applejack shouted “No, Ah’ll get this!”

I said firmly “No, your not, it take time, ya not going to immediately learn everything in one day. Ya did well but only because Ah made you angry, if ya really want to do well ya need to do it consciously to the point it becomes like breathing that takes time, now we’re going to continue onto magic.”

Applejack scowled as we trotted over to the target range. I said “Now, ya will try to hit a target.”

Applejack said “That can’t be that hard.”

I said “Focus the magic in ya horn and line it up with your target.” She quickly picked up on it hitting the target with ease. I smiled “Ya aim is pretty good but let’s teach some control.”

I levitated a few hay bails over I said “Now you are to try to levitate one.”

Applejack said “Ah could levitate 12 easily, Ah have the power.”

I snarled “Applejack this a control exercise, just levitate one.”

Applejack snarled back “Fine, Ah will.” She attached her magic on one only for it to burst into flames. Applejack shouted “How, Ah have the power?”

I asked “That’s the problem, imagine if Celestia and Luna used the same amount of they used to raise the celestial bodies to levitate a teacup, then what would happen to the teacup?”

Applicant said “It would explode…” she took a few seconds to realise “oh.”

I said in a deadpan tone “Yes oh, now let’s get ya levitating some hay.” I watched carefully trying to correct Applejack the mistakes she made but after an hour she was still setting hay on fire.

She snarled “How am Ah supposed to do this?!”

I said “Ya anger is not helping, ya need a clear head.”

Applejack snarled “Ah’m perfectly fine, Ah can do this.”

I shouted “No, ya aren’t doing it right!”

Applejack shouted back “Ah’m wrong am Ah, Ah’ll show you wrong!”

I felt her sock me in the jaw. I slammed my hoof into her jaw. I gasped as her horn glowed, the next minute I was lying in the dirt in Central Ponyville, I looked up to see a purple shape, I smiled “Hiya purple glob, how’s you day been? Mines’ pretty bad, Applejack blasted me here.”

I then felt a hoof slam into my jaw, I think my jaw was broken by that. I opened my eyes to see Applejack's outline, I levitated her and threw her into a building. I coughed up some blood I guess that landing hurt more than I thought, I then screamed as the pain finally hit me. I sighed thinking about the pain made me feel the pain.

I saw the orange blur run towards me only to be levitated in a light blue aura. I then screamed as I felt my wound closing, I swear they hurt more healing than they did hurting. I looked up to see my mother smiling at me, she asked “Are you okay my precious daughter?”

I said “Yeah, me and my partner got into a fight, it’s our first one.”

I heard Starsong’s voice shout “Applejack, this is not the proper way to behave. You’re a Queen, you have to set an example, rein in your temper.”

Applejack snarled “Well pardon me but Ah was born a simple Apple Farmer, Starsong you know this.”

Starsong sighed “I was not that different from you, an Earth Pony doing what many Earth Ponies do. My father was a labourer nothing more, he dug holes for Ponyville’s construction industry, I became a bard to pay for his medical bills after her was injured during a Timberwolf attack. I was 16 then, I had a talent for singing and put it to use.”

I said “It must have been hard.”

Starsong said “Yes, and it was rough. It was worse that my father died a day after my first concert and I didn’t even get to go to the funeral. My older sister told me not to come, I was not wanted.” It tore my heart out, I was 22 and my sister was 18 then.” I watched as a tear dropped from her eyes.

Chrysalis trotted over and hugged her “Don’t be afraid to cry, let it out, trust me holding in pain only makes it worse.” I watched as Starsong burst into tears as my mother simply held her. I smiled the love they had was true and strong. I stared at Applejack who was still held in Starsong’s magic, she was upset.

After Starsong stopped crying, Applejack said “Ah’m sorry Starsong it’s mah fault for saying that.”

Starsong said firmly “Don’t worry about it, I’m not the one who deserves an apology.” I blinked as Starsong turned to look at me.

She lowered Applejack down said as she rubbed the back of her head “Ah'm sorry Ah lost my temper, Ah hope my precious Love Bug will forgive me.”

I smiled “Of course Ah will, Ah’m sorry too. Ah understand ya wanted to keep practising but Ah was worried.”

Applejack said “It’s not your fault, Ah push mahself too hard.”

Starsong said “I think Applejack should come with us to Canterlot where we can teach these things in a more stable environment.”

Applejack shook her head “But Ah have work to do on the farm and Ah have to help the hive.”

I said “Ah’ll be fine, Blueblood can cover for ya and Ah can have someling to fill in for ya.”

Starsong said “Great, come on Applejack you got to grab your stuff and then we go.”

Applejack gasped “Right now.”

Chrysalis said “Yes, now get going.”

Applejack looked at me sadly. As we walked to her room I gave her a simple green necklace. I said “This will connect ya to the hive mind even from Canterlot.” I blushed as we shared a long kiss. After that she left to get ready, I sighed “Ah’m going to miss her.”

Yeah the training caused some problems for the pair.
