The Last of Equestria

Today is… May 5th, 2017, day twenty-six. This is Dr. Pearl Moon stationed at the ECDC Laboratory #516 in the Undiscovered West. Earlier this morning, Dr. Snow and Dr. Phantasia, along with Dr. Dawn and myself, made an interesting discovery. We found a new species of fungi that we're calling Mediocris Alas, or Fairy Wings. As the name suggests, the fungus is shaped like a pair of fairy wings. Initial test results have revealed that there are a couple of strands of DNA in the Mediocris Alas that are very similar to those found in Poison Joke plants.

Pearl! It's Doctor's Snow and Dawn! S-something isn't quite right with them! They're sick o-or something! They're acting all weird and-and I don't think it's safe!

Snow and Dawn were working with that sample of Mediocris Alas an hour ago in the lab and I guess somehow a spore pocket or two managed to go unnoticed as they went through the decontamination chamber. I forget why the left, I think it was to get supplies from the storage closet, but sometime later they went their rooms and never came out.

*Distant clatter*

Right, sorry. As I was saying, Aria went to go check on them and we heard her scream. She came back badly injured and Dr. Brown sealed them off in that portion of the lab, but it trapped everypony else but me, you, Brown, Cobalt, Zephyr and Aria inside.

What?! Are you serious?!

What of Aria? Is she okay?

I don't know, Zephyr wouldn't give me a straight answer. Speaking of, Zephyr mentioned that Aria was bitten on the neck by Dawn and on the ear by Snow. Brown says we're going to evacuate soon and get Aria to a hospital, but I don't think we can wait much longer.

Why is that? If they're sealed off and the lab is closed, we're fine until Brown says we've got to go, right?

If Brown sealed off the lab, he didn't inform the rest of us. But, it's been awfully quiet on the other side for the past twelve minutes and I swear I've been hearing noises in the vents!

What kind of noises?

Clattering and banging, like somepony is crawling in them. I swear that on more than one occasion I've heard groaning and heavy breathing and somepony crying. I'm not fucking crazy, Pearl, I really think somepony is in the vents!

Have you told the others?

I did, but none of them seem to believe me. I think Aria would have if she had been conscious. Brown told me inform you of what was going on, but I heard I noise coming from the lab and it scared me shitless.

Is that why you busted in the room the way you did?

Yeah, sorry if I scared you. Before I forget, Brown wants us all in the med bay.
