No Compromise

In the busy city of Manehatten lied a home with a pony that would cause anger, love, fear, and praise in many of those around him. His name was Howard Galt. He was a tall slender unicorn pony at the age of 35. He could often be noticed due to the emotionless face he always wore. Unlike others Howard was unique because unlike others in his childhood or around him today had one dream that never changed. Many of his peers all had different dreams that changed all of the time, one pony wanted to be a doctor one week than a lawyer the next. But Howard always had his thoughts on one thing, and that making people better through genetically improving the body. He had been called a freak by many. Many said, “Ponies are made just the way they are and nothing can or should change that.” But unlike the others he made sure he never gave in, that he never compromised.
Howard graduated Medical school with a degree in genetics. He was at the top of his class and passed with flying colors. The year after he got of med school he would work as a street sweeper. Many of the laboratories and hospitals were full and many weren’t accepting due to societies view against genetic modification and engineering. He would find work in a small lab on the outskirts of the rural town of Ponyville. They mostly worked on cures for the common cold and better ways to alleviate pain. He always suggested that they should work on a way to make some ponies fly faster, some able to use more powerful magic, or stronger to work the fields. They would always say, “No pony should be greater than their fellow man, we work on these medications so all ponies are equal to each other.” Howard never gave a reply be went back to work. He would often think, “I should be making a tonic that makes me be able to use magic greater than anypony.”
After 5 years of working in the lab he loathed, Howard Galt took the money he had earned and opened a lab. It was on the outer wall of his hometown of Manehatten. It was his home and his work place. Howard would employ two young fresh ponies out of the same school as he. He told them, “Working for me may cause you misery. People may look at you as if you were Nightmare Moon herself. Although if you love what you do, and you don’t compromise, you will be the best thing you can be to yourself, a hero.” They started working for him the day after. Many would come and go. The employees could not take the public ridicule they thought they were above. After a year Howard finally got three employees that would work for him so they could work for themselves.
After many years, the pony of 46, Howard Galt had achieved his lifelong goal. He had found a mixture of plants that could allow him to bend the D.N.A. of ponies. Through many trials they had found different ways of rearranging and even adding different genetic codes. A pony, that had volunteered for an experimentation, was able to run a mile and feel as if he was sitting down. Many ponies heard of this new development and wondered if it was safe. One pony, that called himself, “The Savior of Nature,” was opposed to these developments. At first they were peaceful protests. No pony really paid them much eye. Throughout the year they would gain mass. The group called, “The Children of Natural Order,” sprung up. The next year would prove to be a turbulent one for Equestria. As two ideologies clashed
