Emerson's Story - An Interaction Story
To The Carousel Boutique I Go
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI leaned back, sighing once more. To get a proper attire, curiosity into a forest, or getting a job to pass the time. I look towards the clock tower in the distance, it's already 10 AM and I'm hoping to make a choice very soon.
After thinking about it, I've been thinking about going to the Odd Job Board, but it could wait. It's not going anywhere anytime soon. I got up from the bench, and glance at the EverFree and shuddered.
"Yeah, going to Rarity's," I say to myself as I quickly walked to her Boutique.
I chuckled to myself, 'Why would I even think about going into a dangerous Forest in the first place?' I shook my head slowly as I crossed a small bridge and passed by a Mail mare.
The mare in question had a blond mane, grey coat, bubbles for a cutie mark and crossed-eyed yellow eyes. She gave me a wave as I did the same with a smile. I continued to walk down the path with the Boutique in viewing distance. I wondered if I should knock or just go in? While it is her Boutique, she is currently living there. However, that thought ended when I remembered what happened during the party.
"Darling, if you ever *hic* need assistance in your clothing attire," She took another drink of Apple Cider, "Pleeease just walk in! *hiccup!* I swear if I have to answer the door for another *hic* customer, I think I might just have to make a sign saying 'IT'S A STORE FOR CELESTIA SAKES!'" Rarity shouts as her friends snickered in their drunken stupor.
"Gee Ra*hic*rity," Rainbow Dash, "Seems t-to *hic* to me that you need to lighten you wouldn't wa-*hic* want Capper to come over and see you with a hangover right?" She downed her entire mug of Cider, "A-ano*hiccup!*another!"
"You're going to run us dry Rain*hic*Bow Dash!" Applejack grumbled.
I was going to ask who this Capper was, but Twilight pulled me into another drunk scientific project she wanted to try. I shook my head out of the memory and walked into the Boutique with the bell chiming a second time when it closed behind me.
"Coming~!" I heard Rarity sing as I noticed another figure looking through some fabric. It was a Cat who's wearing a red coat with a golden button on the right side. His fur is a combination of light, dark and moderate gamboge with a dark grayish indigo hair at the top.
Thinking about the party, I spoke, "You must be Capper right?"
His ears swiveled to my direction, "Who wants to know?"
I shrugged, "Rainbow Dash mentioned you at a party I was in, so I was curious."
Capper's head turned towards me and his eyes widen with curiosity, "Ah, so you must be the human who's living in Ponyville with Catrina." He walked up to me and offered his hand, "Capper's my name and charming's my game."
I grabbed it and shook it, "Emerson, it's nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you as well, Rarity should be with you shortly, I'm just going through some fabric for her while she's working on this commish. He grabs his coat collar and pulls it forward, "You dig?"
I nodded, "Yeah, sure, totally."
"Ah, I see you two are making each other's acquaintance already." Rarity said as she walked up, "It's wonderful to see you, Emerson, what brings you here?"
I was going to speak, but Capper spoke instead, "It's crazy, but he heard of me because of Rainbow Dash and this shindig you never invited me to? I'm hurt Rares, hurt."
She rolled her eyes, "Yes, but this was before you came over, we needed to make sure he felt welcome during that time. He's the only one of his kind in case you don't know."
"Uh, huh." He turned to me, "What are you if you don't mind me asking."
"Capper!-"
"No, no, it's fine Rarity, I'm surprised that other species haven't asked me either." I looked at Capper, "I'm a human."
"Ah, never heard that one before," He hummed, "but I would remember running into a hue-man while I lived in Klugetown, but you look close to or pass to look like a Fishman."
"Uh, thanks, I guess?" I said, not sure if it was an offense or a compliment.
"Ahem." Rarity cleared her throat that got our attention, "I believe Emerson has a reason for us to be here."
"Ah, my bad Rares," Capper said rubbing his paws together.
"Right," I felt down my shirt, "There's going to be an Opening for the Public Library soon, and I don't think I have the proper-" My mouth was shut by a very light heliotrope aura, but then I noticed that she flinched and the aura was gone.
"What was that Emerson?" She asked as she shuddered, "My magic felt all wonky."
'I don't think she knows about the experiments that Twilight and I have been doing.' I thought as I told her about it.
"So, you're unaffected by magic because you're a nullifier of some sorts?" Capper asked as I nodded, "Cool. Wish I had that when Rarity wasn't pulling my tail."
Ignoring his comment, Rarity rolled her eyes, "In light of this, I still want to help you with your clothing despite the issue." I was going to speak again, but she covered my mouth with her hoof, "Hush now darling, you need a suit, dress pants, and cufflinks, correct?" She wondered.
"Yes, I would also like some clothing with..." I looked at my all blue attire, "More to the color wheel variant."
She smiled, "I'm glad you're having a type of fashion sense Emerson, would you like your shirts to be like yours?"
I nodded, "Very much so, please. I heard about your line of fashion, but it's not really my taste and I personally don't find gems on clothing practical."
"Ah, yes, I completely understand Emerson, you have your opinions and I have mine, but all this comes with a price you must pay." She informed me.
"How much exactly?" I asked as my hands shuffled into my pockets and fished out three Platinum coins.
"Since you're new to Equestria and a dear friend, 100 bits will do just fine and I would need you to take measurements of course." Rarity said.
Capper seemed to shudder, "You mean what you did to me yesterday?"
She scoffed, "Oh pish pah, Capper, it wasn't that bad. You were just all fidgety because you never stood still in your life."
He rolled his eyes, "Yeah tell that to the next cat whose tail got pulled or see's a light shining on the floor."
This made me have a thought that I should get my red laser pointer and test it on Catrina. I handed Rarity the two platinum bits into her magical grasp.
"Thank you, darling, now let's be on our way then?" She looks to Capper, "I'll be making fish for you tonight Capper."
His eyes seemed to sparkle, "Oh that means you've learned the smelling prevention spell from Twilight?"
She nodded, "Yes, but I need you to help me cook it because I've never done it."
He bowed, "It would be my pleasure to help you."
Rarity giggled with a small blush as she gestured me to walk with her, "Quite, now just finish up what I've assigned you, I won't be too long."
"Gotcha." He said as he continued to look through fabric sheet samples.
We walked into the tailoring room and Rarity levitates a measuring tape that is coiled up. I glance around to see a collection of rolls of different fabric laying on shelves and there's a pedestal for me to stand on.
"Alright darling, I know we discussed this at the party, but I'm afraid I'm going to ask you to strip." She levitated her glasses onto her muzzle.
I blushed, "You sure you can measure everything with just my clothing on? What I'm wearing is pretty light."
She shook her head slowly, "I can't have things out of proportion, Capper was the same when I measured him, so please Emerson, for me?"
I sighed as I nodded slowly, "Can I at least wear my undergarments?"
"Oh?" Rarity seems to perk up, "You wear undergarments? What for?"
I remembered what Twilight told me before and what I could remember when I was walking past a farm on Earth, "Well, I'm not a stallion-"
"Yes, I know that, but please go on."
"I don't have a sheath to hide... My parts and that's why I wear clothing, not just to keep warm, but to hide my exposed private areas." I explained.
"Oh!" She seemed to understand with a deep blush, "I-I understand, you can leave your garments on while I measure you."
I smiled as I sat on the couch to take off my shoes and socks, "Thanks, Rarity," Taking off my shirt, I glance at my torso with the mirror across from me. I had a nice light muscle toned body, but I was getting pudgy on the sides like I was before I even showed up in Equestria. When I got up to my feet, I took off my pants and laid my clothing on the couch. I shuddered at the sudden chilly breeze came through a cracked window making the curtains blow a little bit.
It was then shut by Rarity's magic, "Ah, sorry about that, this room was a bit stuffy earlier. Also, I thought you had more... Fur, to be honest, I can see why you need them, especially during the winter time."
"Is it getting close to Autumn already?" I asked as I stepped forward onto the pedestal.
Rarity locked the door as she unraveled the measuring tape, "Yes, it's getting close to that time of year I suppose. Time really does fly by doesn't it?"
I nodded, "It was the middle of Summer on my world before I showed up."
"Very interesting, lift your arms to be level with each other," I did so as she measured my arms, the upper, forearm and wrist were measured thoroughly, then Rarity got a quill and inkwell to write down the measurements then continued, "I would say that both of our worlds are close in sync when it comes to time. Funny how that works."
I chuckled as she began to measure my torso, "Yeah it is funny and weird."
The two of us continued our conversation until the began to measure my waist, and how big my upper thighs were. It made me blush, but I know that Rarity is a professional and this is just to get my measurements right for my suit. Although, she seemed to be struggling to hold the measuring tape when her magical Aura touched my skin. After a good thirty minutes of careful measuring, and blushing faces, I walked back to my couch to put my clothing back on.
"How long until the suit's finished?" I asked as I put on my pants on.
"Since the ceremony is tomorrow, I'll drop off the suit tonight. I just happen to be almost finished with my commission, it just needs a few touches here and there." She informed me.
I raised an eyebrow while putting on my shirt then proceed to put my sock and shoes on, "You certainly have a knack for making clothing Rarity. Where do you find this inspiration?"
She giggled as she unlocked the door, "Well, other than the obvious of supporting friends and Family, I would say that my commissioners and fans fuel my inspiration to the highest level." We walked out of the tailoring room, and see Capper sitting on a chair relaxing with his arms behind his head.
"I suppose that you're finished, Capper?" Rarity asked as he opened his right eye.
"Ah. Yeah, yeah, sure. They're in your commission room, organized like you wanted them too." He relaxes with a sigh as he eyed me, "So you did better than I did when she measured me?"
I nodded, "Yep, I guess there was nothing to be worried about, to be honest."
"Oh darling, you make it sound like the measuring process is some sort of nightmare." Rarity said as she took the Platinum bits and carried them towards her counter in another room. While she's away, Capper was still not done with Rarity.
Capper crossed his arms, "It was a nightmare Rares." Rarity harrumph echoed through her house as he turned to me, "So how's Catrina treating you?"
I remembered her wearing the pink bikini, "She's... She's pretty different."
Capper laughed, "I'll say, us Cats, we love to tease our prey, but in Catrina's case, it's on a whole new level."
"You could say that again." I scratched the back of my head.
The cat put his arm around my shoulders, "Listen, Emerson, is Catrina giving you a hard time or a good time?"
My eyebrows are raised, "How so?"
"Klugetown, at the age we were raised in, it was hard times for us. When I say a hard time, she might be pissy and demanding a few things while living with you." I gave him a deadpan look, "Ah, she's been giving you a good time then?" I nod, "She's into you man, all I'm saying is that you play along, be smooth about it, you dig?"
I remembered when Catrina was giving me her potions and I saw how happy she was when I tested them out. Despite her... Ways of getting my attention, I suppose I could try... No, I'll play her game even when I see her next time.
I look to Capper with a small smirk, "I'll keep that in mind Cap."
He formed his paw into a fist, and I did the same and fist bumped it, "Cool. Like the nickname."
Rarity came back with a smile, "I'm so glad you two are getting along with one another, but I'm afraid I have to come back to my commission and finish up those touches and get started with yours post-haste."
I wave my hand as Capper pulled his arm away from my shoulder, "No worries Rarity, I have an entire day ahead of me." I glanced at the clock hung on the wall and it was already noon.
Capper walked me out of the Boutique as we said our goodbyes, the cool breeze of Autumn hitting my face was welcomed when I looked around to see where I could go next.
To my right is Sugarcube Corner, my mouth waters when I see the pastry shop. Even though it's a little unhealthy for lunch, my sweet tooth was trying to fight for me to go there. Instinctively, I check my pockets and found one Platinum Bit, so I have more than enough to get myself that is filling and... Maybe healthy? Who knows, maybe Pinkie Pie will fix something special for me.
Straight ahead of me is Town Hall in all of its glory as Pony's and other species pass along the road. For some reason, I've been really wanting to go to the Odd Job Board, but have been dismissing it. It was probably my negligence mixing in with my curiosity. You know the feeling when you want to do something important, but you decided to dismiss it. However, it might be so important it might change your life kind of feeling? I don't know if I'm just being serious or silly.
In the corner of my eye, in the distance, is my house that is peeking behind a hill and between several houses. I thought about what Capper said to me back there and I really wanted me to give Catrina her own medicine. I don't know if the 'tools' survived when I got here, but I think that would be the best thing I would have in this situation. Gosh, even thinking about it makes my heart beat faster.
Taking a deep breath, I calm my accelerated heartbeat as I leaned against Rarity's Boutique, "I have a full day today, but what to choose?"
