Emerson's Story - An Interaction Story

Passing The Time To Do Something New

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Two weeks have passed and a lot of events have happened. While I'm in Twilight's Library finishing the last category, 900 for History & Geography, I pondered how quick that time whizzed by. The first week, after I got settled into my new home with Catrina and Stratus, Twilight invited me to her science room where she conducted experiments. It was a whole bunch of magic and science mumbo jumbo when she explained it to me. Twilight did give me a better explanation, which means that magic might have existed in my world and that the magic in Equestria doesn't exactly know what to do with me.

"So that means, I won't be able to be affected by Equestrian magic at all?" I asked her.

She shook her head, "I'm afraid not Emerson, but I'm wondering what kind of magic you had on Earth."

I did tell her that the only 'magic' that we had on Earth is from the past written in a text called the Arthurian Legend, "I wish I could tell you more, but that's all I can really remember in my Literature class."

Twilight smiled, "That's no issue Emerson, while your magic was written in a type of Legend, it seems to me that the magic from then is still there." She levitated a book into her grasp and went through some pages, "I have a list of spells I would like to cast on you to see if you get affected."

The memory started to blur as I agreed and after 100 spells or so, none of them affected me. This went on for three-four days straight while the fifth day the Town Council approved of Twilight's Library being a public one.

While I was doing that magical nonsense, Catrina caught on of what Twilight was doing and asked me if she could give me potions to see if they affected me. How this came about is that I was coming home with the herbs that she wanted and when I went through the fence, I heard Catrina ask for me.

"You have been collecting the herbs in the marketplace?" Catrina asked as I went up to her. However, when I did, I was blushing up a storm as she was laying on a lounge chair in a pink two-piece bikini while holding a sunbathing mirror.

I was going to question why she was doing such a thing, but I remembered that house cats love to feel warm and secure before they fall to sleep. So I understand that cats love the sunlight and I guess that Catrina is just making up the slight drop in her body temperature.

Despite my embarrassment, I showed her the gunny sack that had smaller bags that contained the herbs, "Want me to put them in your room?"

She nodded and folded her mirror closed, "Sure, I'm going to take a nap for a little bit." Just when I was going to turn around and be on my merry way she clicked her tongue, "Oh! I almost forgot to ask you."

I turned back to face her and she was laying on her side, her breasts being squished together by her left arm looking that the bikini was going to pop, "I overheard that you're unaffected by magic." She pulled up her shades to look at me, "Is that correct?"

I gulped, "Y-Yeah, Twilight has been casting multiple spells on me and I've been unaffected."

Her tail seemed to wiggle in curiosity, "Really? What was the conclusion?" She shifted her body as I continued and explained as best as I could to her what Twilight told to me. "Hmm, that is very weird indeed." Catrina stretched as she got up, "Well you've got me interested."

I noticed that she was walking up to me, grabbed the bag as she leaned forward, getting close to my face, "How about if I make some potions?"

My face felt like it was burning, "Potions?" I asked.

"Potion making is different from magic, but it has several magical properties to affect the body who ever consumes it. I'm only going to give you the kind that is safe. I wouldn't imagine giving you something else that might harm you." Catrina explained.

I just nodded, "S-Sure, if these potions are therapeutic then go for it."

She tilted her head, "Why would you want therapeutic potions? Are you feeling alright?"

I turned around and looked into the sky to calm down, "I've been having trouble sleeping lately," I looked back, "So, I was wondering if you could help me with that?"

I could see that she smiled and hugged me from behind, "I can help you with that," Her breasts pressing against my back which made my hands twitch, "I do see that you're being flustered by something."

Taking a deep breath, I stepped out of her grasp, "Yes I am flustered." I turned to face her, "If we're going to do this whole potion business, you need to be dressed properly. I know about your teasing Catrina and while it's... Distracting, I need to know if you're serious about this."

She seemed to do a double take, "Why Emerson, I am serious about it," She rested her hands on her hips, "I'm only teasing because I like you, ever since we figured out how to get the generator started to power the house and your devices, I've only grown to like you more as a friend."

"So you take advantage of friends by sexually teasing them?" I asked by turning around to see her in the eyes while crossing my arms.

Catrina huffed, "You seem to like it. I can stop if you ask, in fact, Stratus could give you input on what happened a night ago." She licked her lips.

I heard a gasp as I turned to see Stratus, with some extra groceries on her wing, "I was just giving you some food and you teased me by ruffling up my feathers!"

Catrina put her hand on her chest, "Why Stratus, I'm hurt, why would you say something like that? It was something very special."

I sighed, "Quit it..." They stopped as I continued, "Stratus are you enjoying Catrina's antics?"

The hippogriff blushed, "W-Well..." I glanced at Catrina who was smiling, "Y-y-yes..."

"What about you Emerson?" Catrina wondered as she crossed her arms, pushing up her breasts.

I shook my head with a little bit of blush as I tried to walk away, "I don't know what to think."

"Wait, Emerson!" Catrina asked me as I stopped, "Alright. I'll be serious about the potion making, just... Please don't be mad."

I turned my head, "I don't get mad Catrina, I get frustrated and let it go." Closing my eyes as I sigh, "Just let me know when you have the first potion done alright?"

I couldn't see her nod as the memory faded away when I finished labeling the last book. This book was another edition Geography of Equestria. I sighed as I stacked the books in order. The whole last week was me tasting potions for Catrina and surprisingly all of the potions that I requested, worked. All of them affected my health in a positive way.

As I carried the books over to the newly constructed crystal bookshelves, I remembered the potions I tried. The sleeping potion knocked me out, making me having the best sleep I've ever had in a long time. There were others like being unaffected by the elements like fire, ice, water, electricity, and any others that might harm me. Anything from strength, mentality, agility, night vision, increased sight, enhanced sound, incredible smell and sensitive touch had a toll on me. Catrina explained that some creatures who take potions like that have a backlash depending on the potion that's increasing that part of the body. The only thing that didn't have a backlash was the healing potions that rejuvenate my body to normal conditions.

"Emerson?" My thoughts were interrupted by a purple dragon, I finished putting away the books on the bottom shelf and got up on my feet, "You seem kind of out of it. You doing alright?"

I shook my head, "I'm just a little sore from last night, I've been working on small projects in the house."

Spike tilted her head, "Like fixing the house kind of thing?"

"Yeah, like replacing some rusted piping," My thoughts shift to when I crushed a pipe while under the strength potion, "and other things similar to it."

He gave me a light smile, "Alright, that's understandable. Since your done with categorizing the Library books with the system from your world, Twilight told me to let you off the hook."

"Oh? Is she busy?" I asked as we walked to the crystal desk that's next to the entrance.

The drake nodded, "Yep, she had to go to Canterlot for some Royal Business and won't return until the official Opening Ceremony for the Library tomorrow."

"Ah, alright," I say as I grabbed my clipboard and put it under my arm, "I'm now free for the day now?"

"Yep! Tempest and I are going to set up the castle for tomorrow's main event. Plus, Pinkie is going to drop by to spruce it up." He explained, guiding me to the door.

"That's cool, just make sure you guys don't go overboard," I said as I pulled the door and got outside.

"I don't think we could stop Pinkie from going overboard with anything."

I chuckled, "Hah, that's an understatement."

"No kidding man." He sighed, "Got any plans for what you want to do today?"

"I haven't really thought about it, but I'm sure I'll come up with something," I explained.

"Well whatever it is, just make sure you don't do anything dumb."

I scoffed, "Yeah, I'll make sure."

While Spike walked back into the castle, I took a stroll around the town. I was very thankful for Twilight and friends by helping me memorize the map of Ponyville... Before they got drunk that is. My stroll eventually turned towards the park which made me stop next to a bench. What was I going to do today to pass the time? I take a seat on the bench and looked around.

The first thing that came to view from the distance was the Carousel Boutique. Thinking about the Opening tomorrow, I probably have a suit in my closet, but it might be small on me. However, when I glanced at my clothing, I haven't been exactly following her advice of having a clashing color wheel attire. Wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt could probably stir her up, which is something I don't want.

Sighing, my view turns to the Everfree Forest. My eyes blinked for several times at the path that leads up to the forest. Catrina said it's dangerous, but the six girls were telling me that they own it. Maybe it was because they were the Elements of Harmony or something along the lines? I really didn't know, but something inside me wants to just jump on to the curiosity train and just explore.

Lastly, my neck stops turning left for me to see the Townhall in the corner of my eye. It reminded me of the Odd Job Board that was set up inside. I only glanced at it before I was interrupted by Spike and Rarity, but I wonder if there are any jobs that I could do. While everyone is comfortable with having a different species in Ponyville, I feel like I should get to know some pony's in town.

I leaned back, sighing once more. To get a proper attire, curiosity into a forest, or getting a job to pass the time. I look towards the clock tower in the distance, it's already 10 AM and I'm hoping to make a choice very soon.

Author's Note

There we go Ladies and Gents! The three choice's you've been waiting for! Like I said in a blog post before, this chapter was particularly short because there is going to a series of short chapters if you guys choose correctly of what Emerson will choose. If you choose wrong, the chapter will resume on getting regular chapters like before. Also, this chapter was going to be somewhat summarized which was really, really short, but I decided to scrap that and give Emerson some memories that were making him ponder.

Anyway, let's get to voting! Happy Voting~!

The results are in! Emerson will be going to the Carousel Boutique. This was really close, the Boutique won by 8 votes while Odd Job Board had 7. Then there is the EverFree Forest which had no votes. You guys know the drill, writing and planning for the next decisions for you guys! There might be three choices once more in the next chapter and just a warning, it might be a repeated, reason why is because in most interaction games the same choices, except for a few, repeat to get the gamer to go along with the story or Campaign. I'm experimenting with this idea and so far, knock on wood, is working. So look forward to that this weekend!
