Black blood, kind heart

Previous Chapter

It was about a week since I had become Sweetie Bells familiar, me and Inky were doing some hunting in the whitetail woods, as it turns out we still need physical food to survive, even with a master and/or family to guard and supply us with spiritual energy, I eventually noticed something in the brush and knelt down to pick it up, finding a strange plush of a red fox with black tips at the ears and feet. It simply looked like something from a gift shop.

I raise my brow curiously as I notice it is warm to the touch “Ummm… huh...Hey Inky?”

Inky then flew over to me, noticing the odd plush and tilting her head as if to ask what I had found.

I shrugged “I don’t have any idea, but I sense it can hold a mystical charge... maybe if i put some magical energy in it something will happen?”

Inky looks to it, then nods, the words “Don’t sense any danger.” Showing up in mid air.

I nodded and let my magical energy flow into it, smiling as I noticed it flare to life and shine brightly, only for a rift similar to the one I apparently came from to appear.

The token disappeared, and in its place was a woman. She had silver hair that was done up in a pony tail. Her clothes consisted of a black and red tanktop with a gray coat over it. She also wore red shorts with black flames on it and combat boots. She also had a object on her back, looks like a bat or a something metal. I was able to see this since she was facedown on the ground as she simply appeared in mid air and fell onto the ground. I heard a groan coming from her.

I looked to Inky and gestured to the stranger “Should we help her? It would be rude not to, right?”

Inky nodded before I knelt to help her up “You ok? That fall looked painful.”

She muttered something to me before pushing herself to be sitting. She had sorta tan skin with red eyes. As she rubbed her face I noticed some other things about her, like she was carrying these odd containers of orange and red light.

“Owww~, walking through the Everfree just to get teleported onto the ground sucks~...” she looked around before looking at me and staring. “... who are you?”

I shrug “Just call me Nill. It’s the only name I remember. Something about the spirit realm sealing away my memories.”

Inky flew over to her gently, careful not to scare her, before the words “How did you get here?” And “Where did the plushie go?” Appeared around her. Her reaction was… well not one I expected. She simply stared at Inky for a moment before pulling something out that looked like a black bar with a red center to it. There was a flash that came off it before pointing it at me and the same thing happened.

I looked to her oddly “Was that like… a really tiny camera? I remember taking a picture with Sweetie Belle yesterday… Wait, where is the picture? I don’t see anything coming out of it…”

Inky nodded before she had the words “And why would she take pictures of us anyway?” appear in front of her.

I looked to the lady “Hey, uhh… whatever your name is, mind walking with us to sweetie Belle's school? She likes us walking with her and her friends to school, I think she wants us to make friends with them too.”

Inky seemed to giggle as the words “Little sweetheart” Appeared in front of her. The woman looked at the two of us, still with a look that says ‘uhhh…’

“We just meet… and you want me to walk with you to a school? You two are oddly trusting.” she pointed out. “My mother did told me not to talk to strangers… and then my aunt said something else that I don’t remember…”

I nodded “Yeah, taking a stranger to meet Sweetie Belle is not my first choice, but it’s better than leaving someone in the woods, even the whitetail woods.” I smile “Besides, what kind of dick would I be if I left you all alone in the forest?”

“Huh…” the woman said before standing up in front of me. “Names Viri by the way.”

I smiled and nodded as I started walking towards the school house, about a twenty minutes walk from here. “So, what was that thing with the plushy? Are you some sort of minor demon, summonable by an item?”

“That thing is a plushy,” Viri raised her hand up as said plushy appeared in her hand. “And it’s also my token, I’m part of the displacement world stuff which, in short, is me jumping from world to world that look the same. Sure I could do it without it but I prefer not making a mess of things.”

I nod slowly “So… the displaced are people who hop dimensions? Huh… I wonder if i was a displaced…”

“Kinda, it’s mostly hopping from one Equestria to another then back to their own. And maybe,” Viri said.

As we reached the schoolhouse, Sweetie Belle ran to us and smiled excitedly “Hey, Nill! Inky! And… stranger I don’t know.” She hid behind me from Viri and I smiled.

“Hey, no worries, this is Viri, I don’t know why, but I feel we can trust her. I Just hope Rarity doesn’t try to make her a dress, I don’t know how long she’ll be staying, and I know she’d be bummed if she left before getting it.”

“Hi,” Viri greeted Sweetie before looking at me. “And hey, I can stick around as long as you want me to. Just don’t try to keep me here or I’ll burn you.”

I nod uncomfortably, remembering what it felt like to burn “U-ummm… anyway, let’s get going.”

Sweetie Belle then sniffed the air a moment “Hey… you smell that? I smell something burning…”

Right as she finished asking that, a massive boom shook the ground and the schoolhouse, thankfully empty at this point, collapsed as a short, buff looking creature came out of the dust cloud “I wagered my boys this was where I’d find ya.”

He smiled, his teeth primal and sharp, a mix between a shark and a dog's teeth and large, bat like ears adorning his head, along with a pair of massive metal gauntlets with gemstones inlaid in them at his hands, the gems glowing a strong white as electricity crackled along them, his torso covered by a torn t-shirt with several holes on it, from which more crystals could be seen inlaid in his flesh, with odd red metal surrounding them and linking each gem to the other like a circuit for those TV’s I saw in the junkyard. He had a large lizard like tail with barbed hairs at the end as well, the hairs looking sharp and hard enough to pierce skin. He smiled at me cruelly “Now, how should I make you pay for wiping out one of my outposts?”

He seemed to think for a moment before grinning even more evilly. “First, let’s see about killing your master!” He leapt at Sweetie Belle, only for Inky to push her out of the way and get punched instead, her body getting annihilated by a shotgun blast of magical energy!

I looked as she fell to the ground as a fine mist, my body filling with a level of rage unfamiliar to me, I wanted… no, I NEEDED to hurt this bastard.

‘He took her from us…’

I grunted as two pairs of long, spindly extra arms made of ink erupted from my sides and my normal arms morphed to match as what looked like pipes erupted from my flesh and ink leaked up from them, like lava lamp material.

‘He must pay…’

My face was the next thing to morph, my mouth turning sideways as eyes formed on either side of my mouth, four on each side, as my hands seemed to be malformed, almost inhumanly thin, yet also, somehow, unnaturally strong.

‘We demand blood!’

Out of my backside grew a long, lizard-like tail ending in a blade in the shape of a double sided question mark as black electricity arced along my body.

I then looked to Viri, unaware of my eyes changing to a more bestial state. “Take Sweetie, keep her safe. I have a sick freak to kill.” My voice had changed, sounding like three different people speaking at once.

Viri blinked at me before looking at the other guy, pulling out that camera from before and taking a picture, then at me again. “Who’s that?”

I growled “I don’t know… but I know he’s going to pay.”

As I looked to him, he seemed to be chuckling “Seems like I’m going to have a good fight! Perfect… it’s been far too long!”

“Right…” Viri said before picking up Sweetie. “Come on you, time to get to a safe distance away.”

I grabbed at something from thin air, it becoming corporeal as I gripped a blade of chiton and steel, the handle wrapping around my wrist as I grabbed it with one hand, four of these swords materializing as a pair of chiton and steel shields formed in my bottom two hands “Let’s get this done with.”

I then rushed at the bastard, and promptly blacked out.

~???~

“Greetings, body brother.”

I looked around to see I was in what looked like a bar, with the strange thing I turned into playing the piano as if nothing was wrong. “Ummm… hello?”

I saw him turn around, and he smiled at me in a kind manner, at least, I thought it was kind… hard to tell with his mouth taking up half his face. “It is good to finally meet you, I must say, you have done quite a good job of learning how to be Elderkith on your own.”

I frowned “What… what is that?”

The being smiled “Elderkith, a bridge between the worlds of mortals and the realm of the old ones, normally attempting to bring understanding to both sides, and often developing powers unique to each one.”

I looked around until I saw a strange crystal pillar through which I saw the bastard that killed Inky! I looked to the apparent Elder one “How do I get out there?! I need to make him pay!”

The elder one smiled… I think. “I know how you feel, brother, but I need to command our body for now. Any damage done unto our body while you are in control is doubly threatening to us, as your mindscape is what we are currently in, and where I am forced to reside as of now.”

I frowned “And… when can I leave?”

The Elder one smiled “Soon, for our foe will retreat, and your memories will be restored.”

Oh, well that’s nice- WAIT WHAT?! “I’m getting my memories back?!”

The being nodded “Yes, oh, and as to the question you would of asked in about two minutes, my name is Dhsuth-Actu, or Dhsuthu for short if you prefer. And as a warning, I foresee a summons in our near future, we should be prepared.” He then sighed “Now, brace yourself, your memories being unsealed will cause great pain to you, and as a result, me.”

I nodded slowly as he pulled a ball of mist and light out of mid air, pressing the strange orb into my forehead as I grunted from the strain of not shouting from the pain. Only for it to increase a hundredfold as I felt my mind expanding, sealed away memories returning in a flash as I remembered my old name.

I was.. Ron… I had no family, no friends, I conned everyone I could out of house and home, not even caring about what I did or who I hurt… only how I could get enough money to support me and my own… I was scum, a trickster of the worst kind, I was vain, cruel, and crafty… I felt sick, once all the memories of my past life finished I looked to Dhsuthu as the last thing of my past life came to me “I… I had a daughter… she… she’s gone now…”

Dhsuthu nodded “I advise you to stay quiet about this, Demons are supposed to be sterile unless a breeder or drone for a Demon lord or Queen.”

I sighed as looked behind me, a door appearing behind me as I turned toward it, Dhsuthu smiling “It is time. He has fled, and my time at the forefront has ended. May we meet again, in the realms of slumber, my brother.”

I smiled as well “I hope so…” I then walked through and was suddenly back in the real world… or… at least the world outside my mind...my mindscape was so vivid. I looked around to see various arcane runes etched into the pieces of the schoolhouse as a note was attached to the back of my hand via a sticky note.

‘Dearest Nill:

A little favor for the child. Simply repeat the incantation and the schoolhouse will be good as new.

-An old friend~’

I looked to the back of the sticky note and saw a strange word that I assumed to be the incantation “Ummm… Relca...ratia...cora?” As I spoke the last word, the pieces of the schoolhouse floated into the air around me and began to reassemble! Forming the building in a manner of moments as if it were brand new, the schoolbell even losing the dent from Pinkies skull, honestly, I dare not ask why it got there.

I walked out of the building as I looked at where Inky had fell, tears threatening to fall freely from my eyes without end, only for me to notice a black mist rising from the ground and combining to form Inky, a little shaken and disoriented, but alive!

I ran to her and held her close as I kissed her, holding her close as I wept tears of joy. “Inky… I thought… I thought I lost you!”

Inky giggled weakly “Not that easy.” She looked behind me and paused “Thought it was broken…”

I nodded “Umm… yeah, about that.”

~one walk to ponyville later~

“And… that’s what happened. Who I was… what...what I was…”

Inky looked to me thoughtfully “Was, not am, never will be. Beautiful person, love you.”

I smiled as we saw Sweetie Bell and Viri in the distance, The girls all grouped around her protectively.

As we drew closer, we noticed them speaking accusingly to Viri “How can we know that you aren’t working with this Vorgo character? You both have weird metal weapons, and are definitely not a ponies demon, familiar, or persona!” RD said accusingly to Viri.

“Actually, it’s not really metal. It’s really a sorta material that supercharges heat and enable me to control it,” she smiles a bit. “It also makes sure no one else uses it unless it’s me.”

With that said she pulls her weapon out, it didn’t look like a weapon from where I’m standing, and drops it on the ground, daring for someone to pick it up.

RD smiled smugly as Hermes appeared next to her “Hey, boss… I don’t think that’s a good idea…”

RD laughed “Like it’s anything I can’t handle!” As she grabbed the stick, she yelped before releasing the now red hot stick, her hand blistering badly…

“I warned ya,” Viri said, picking up her weapon as if it was alright. “Also if I was a bad guy, wouldn't I have kicked all of your butts already?”

I decided to step in before the situation got any worse “Girls, she is a friend! She helped keep Sweetie Bell safe while I fought off Vorgo.

Twilight, with Spike and her persona Merlin, a robotic looking wizard that was ensconced in a clear glass orb of runes with a staff in his hands that seemed like it could double as a whetstone. Looked up from a book “I knew this Vorgo character sounded familiar… take a look here!”

In the book, which was titled ‘Ancient legends of the mythic era’, the following was plainly written, followed by a description of Vorgo that fit him to a T.

Loss of the Tunnel Troop

The troop was sent, numbering twenty and ten, and all that left planned to come back again.

Of the gremlins lost kingdom they were sent to find, but they didn't realize who they were leaving behind.

For the halls they searched and craved, disregarding the darkness and warnings for paths unpaved.

Months at a time were spend end to end, until one day their path and the gremlins together did wend.

Enraged were the Gremlins, and shocked were the Guards. They never thought treachery did wait in the cards.

Their King lead them on, and the troop was outmatched, so one after one they all were dispatched.

Ablaze was his rage, and his followers too. They all seemed to know how much more we could do.

I sat there and watched at the end of the rout, at the king that still raged so much the fire would never go out.

His back ram-rod straight and his face carved of stone. The look in his eyes I swear cut through bone.

Now the moral of the tale as i'd rightly say, is to stick with your friends and never let them away.

If through triumph or sorrow you can stay steadfast friends, then unlike the King, the Undaunted who'll naer make amends.

“Well he sounds… charming,” Viri said.

Twilight nodded slowly, a sadness to her features “He used to be a loyal ally to the people of Equestria, until Starswirl disappeared, and the Diamond Dogs overtook his people, destroying their kingdom… He hates all of us now… he is determined to bring us to ruin, as he is certain we left him to his kingdoms ruin as well.”

“Lovely,” Viri said crossing her arms.

Fluttershy looked to me curiously, her not having a persona for some reason. “I… I have treated wounds for soldiers who faced him… there… there was rarely anything I could do but limit the pain as they passed… how did you beat him?”

Inky flew up to her and made a shushing motion “Trade Secret.”

I grinned and shrugged “Sadly, I think it’s in my best interest that I keep that a secret for now.”

Viri opened her mouth to say something but closed her mouth… wait, she was there. She she would’ve seen a bit of it. We looked at eachother and she made the gesture of zipping her lips.

I nodded, before I saw Pinkie with a suspicious look on her face ‘Oh great… keeping this under tabs is going to suuuuck.’

I then heard laughter as I felt Dhsuthu in my mind ‘I agree, my brother. Quite the annoyance indeed.’
