“Hey, careful! We wake up this demon, he might curse us er sumthin!” a voice sounded out, making me stir.

I looked around to see I was no longer in my hammock, but in a glass ball of some sort, my body trapped in it’s liquid state. ‘Shit, shit, SHIT! Inky! Help! ‘ I tried to talk, only for a burbling to come out, I couldn’t move, couldn’t talk, hell, this ball had me powerless! I felt so confined… like all my being was trapped in that tiny crystal... To quote a certain genie; phenomenal cosmic power, itty bitty living space.

Looking around, I saw I was being carried by a big blue eyed and blonde furred anthro dog and another, smaller dog with black fur. The larger was the one who just talked. “No worries, bubba! That crystal can contain a duke of hell! There’s no way that this little guy could break out, not with how little soul power he’s developed, he’d need at least a week with a good master first… or half a horde of minotaurs,”

As if that’d summoned her by sheer proxy, I felt Inkys presence nearing us. And she was pissed. There was a literal shadow tornado storming towards us, from what I felt.

I tried to break free, but I think all the soul power went to Inky... we should really ration that out in the future… I looked to where I felt inky coming from “Help, I’ll do anything, just get me out of this damned crystal!

I saw Inky, and she looked as she felt. Pissed. There was hundreds of stick and stones orbiting her like she was a sun and they were her planets, and the most surprising thing was the pack of strange wooden wolves at her side, their eyes gray where I felt they should have not been.

“Holy shit what’s that?!” I heard the smaller of the two dogs shout as I looked to the large dog holding me, he was trembling in fear before he dropped me on the floor, beating a hasty retreat as he carried the smaller dog after him. Inky pointed at them, and the wolves bounded after them while she set the twigs and stones hurtling after the two.

Now bereft of anything that may get in the way, she floated over and grabbed my container… shattering it like glass. I fell to the floor and reformed before I quickly got up and hugged her “Oh thank you thank you thank you!” I looked to myself and saw I was wearing my clothes still, thankfully, and I hugged her some more “I could kiss you right now!” I then remembered something from earlier “Oh, and we have to split the souls from here on out, okay?”

The ghost nodded, before she did something surprising. She squeezed me back, giving me a kiss on the lips that was fairly quick.

I froze up as I looked to her “Uhhhh…..” I think I was blushing like mad, but I could not tell, the screams of those two dogs were drowning out any attempt to focus my mind enough to know. Soon, the wood wolves dragged the two dogs back, both almost dead.

Inky gave me the impression of a smile, gesturing for me to finish them.

I nodded, firing an ink shard into their skulls, instantly killing them both as I grabbed one of the two souls, the bigger one at Inkys insistence, absorbing it and the body whole, me having apparently lost some mass from my kidnapping, as in over half of it. “S-so… Inky… do you… do you like me like that? Even though I tease you, and flirt too much?”

The ghost gave me the impression of blushing, shyly letting me go and floating back a little, doing the most adorable wriggle as she nodded.

I blushed and rubbed the back of my head as I looked to her “So… do you want to be my girlfriend? Like, hold hands and stuff?” I looked down and smiled “I can’t say if you’d be my first yet, cause I honestly am fuzzy on my memory at the moment… but I can say that I really like you…”

She floated over, wrapping around me once and making me chuckle at her foggy forms ticklishness, before taking my hand in hers.

I smiled and kissed her cheek before I blushed even harder. “I wish we could go someplace nice… but those ponies would freak out at the sight of us…” I then sighed “maybe I could carve a balcony in the mountain, and we could eat there?”

Inky nuzzled me a little. Whisps of her darkness formed words in front of my face. ‘Whatever is fine, because i’ll be with you,’ they said.

Still smiling, I hugged her and kissed her cheek again “How about I find us some non talking eats? I feel like eating some rabbit, those things are tasty when fried up.” I then sensed a life force due east and in the air and flung an ink shard by it, viewing it through the shard to see it was a large dragon, heading for a village…

What is it?’ The words changed to, her looking worried at me. ‘You look concerned

I sighed “I think that a dragon is heading for the pony village...that I came in from…” I sighed “Guess we are eating dragon tonight…”

Inky looked eager. ‘Fire, magic resistance!’ She changed her text to, providing me with two very good reasons to kill the dragon.

I nodded “Yeah, but I can’t handle heat, ink is too flammable. I would like the magic resistance though…” I then realised something very important. “Damn it, I can’t fly.” I then looked to the dragon and thought for a bit “Hey, Inky, hon? Could you make one of those tornadoes go from here to the dragon?”

She gave the most evil of smiles, before nodding. She held her arm out, and a tornado formed, catching the dragon in it’s grasps.

I then chuckled as I flung shard after shard of my ink into the tornado, making them fly around the dragon while impacting him, his scales preventing them from piercing his hide. “Okay, plan B, We gotta get the dragon over here, maybe we can drown it in the lake.”

Inky tilted her head. Looking to the trees, she called not only twigs, not branches, but a couple dozen full grown trees over to herself. She did some complicated motions with her hands, forming a wooden dragon.

I looked at her slack jawed “I need to get more souls. You got totally badass!” She blushed a bit at my praise, before thrusting her hand forwards, the tornado carrying the wooden beast up into the sky, and she made it wrap around the real dragon. The tornado soon vanished, and the two were sent hurtling to the ground.

I absorbed all of my ink back before running to the Dragon duo, I looked it in the eyes and smiled “So, what brings you to pony lands?”

The dragon growled “I need not explain why I came here to my lunch, you insolent worm!”

I chuckled “Aww, you’ll have to try harder to hurt this demons feelings, big boy.”

The dragon huffed “Or what? Your ghostly whore will send me another hunk of splinters?”

At this, my smile disappeared, my body prickling like a porcupine's quills as I got the angriest I have ever been… I reached back, forming a drill with my hand “You should of not insulted her.”

I then rammed my drill arm into his eye, going straight into his brain and killing him instantly before I grabbed his soul and ripped it in half, offering the parts that gave off a fiery feeling to Inky as I ate the tougher parts, her getting more soul this time, but I did not even care, I have plans for this bastards body…

My wonderful girlfriend, just before I could eat the tough bits, mixed half of hers with half of mine, giving us both an even half and at least some magic resistance and fire powers once the soul halves were consumed.

I smiled and grabbed the dragon's corpse as I absorbed the tree dragon, careful to sever its connection to Inky first, then pumped the corpse full of ink, making it into a sort of puppet by taking over it’s ‘nervous system’ and repairing the damage to it’s ‘brain’. I then looked to Inky with a mischievous grin“Say hello to our new security system! I’d like to see anyone trap me now!”

She seemed to silently giggle, hugging me. ‘That date now?’ she asked.

I smiled “i was having so much fun I forgot.” I then cracked my knuckles before I had the dragon corpse, whom shall now be known as snuffles, claw out a small balcony for us. I then looked around, before I saw a large gator like thing with a rocky outer skin “Looks like we’re having Gator stew!”

Inky rubbed her tummy as if hungry, giving me the impression of a smile.

I chuckled as i walked over and killed the thing, gutting it and putting it to cook over a fire for awhile as I looked to Inky “S-so… what do you wanna do while it cooks? Should take about an hour and a half, maybe two because of the rocky outer layer.”

She made a little shrug, summoning a tree log and sitting on it.

I thought for a bit, eventually smiling as I made a flute out of my ink, playing a little tune for her to enjoy as I made other instruments that played themselves from Ink as well. She seemed to sway with the tone, her eyes making little eye smiles that made my heart throb.

After we played a few songs, I sensed that the gator meat was ready, so I put out the fire and pulled off a haunch for her, putting half of it’s soul on the meat. “I hope you can taste this…”

I smiled hopefully before taking a haunch for myself and smiling as I put my half of the soul over the meat and ate it, the soul somehow made the meat very tender and juicy, me having scraped off the skin already before handing either of us our meals. “Mmm… good.”

She held her own up, before seeming to concentrate. Suddenly, a small light went off, blinding me. When it was over, she looked different.

She now had clothes and was somehow even hotter than before, her sleeves dangling as she bit into the meat and hummed happily. Her soul power felt weaker like this, but now she was more physical.

I scooted over to her and hugged her, smooching her on the lips “I’ve been wanting to do that for awhile.”

She let out a real giggle, shyly hiding a little in her large coat. I then blushed as well before looking to her, ruffling her hair. “You know, I don’t think I’d be here, if not for those three young ponies… I’d really like to thank them…”

“We… could try…” She whispered, her voice heaven to my ears. After speaking, she quickly finished her food.

I nodded slowly “Yeah… but if they say anything bad about you, I’m afraid I’ll lose my cool again.” I then looked to her and smiled “I just don’t want them to hurt you.”

“I… won’t be,” She promised, Inky hugging me tight, her boobs pressing against me.

I blushed and tried not to think perversely, making my mantra for the moment ‘ Don’t fuck this up, don’t fuck this up, don’t fuck this up! ’ I eventually had to avert my pelvis though, as she just felt so nice against me… Damn it, Why do I have to be such a pervert?!

“Wanna… go… try now?” She asked me gently.

I looked to her for a moment, before I put two and two together, “Ummm… yeah, I think I’d like that...” I then looked up “Wait, it’s night time… they’d be in bed… maybe we leave them a present, instead? I...I think I liked presents when I was a kid...”I then thought some more, trying to figure out what to do “Maybe I could try to get to the leader of these ponies, and talk things out with them?”

The now white Inky nodded. She turned, and pointed forwards and a bit up, bringing my attention to a castle on a mountain.

I then realized something “Hey, you think those bandits were causing trouble for ponies? I saw some sort of bandit emblem in their base last night… maybe we could bring that with and say we wiped them out?”

“Ponies… herbivores… peaceful… killing… taboo… likely…” Inky said, shooting that down quickly.

I nodded thoughtfully, sitting on a fallen tree “Dang it, I’m not a plan kind of guy…”

I then looked to the castle, right before I felt a massive pain in my back “Gah!” I looked back to see a skeletal pair of dragon wings ripping free of my back as my ink formed a thin membrane of flight tissue, and my body slowly morphed into that of a dragon, yet, it was more bestial than that of the dragon we had slain…

I looked to Inky curiously, wondering if she would morph as well. “You okay, sweetie?”

She nodded, before turning into her misty black self and floating next to me. Seems she didn’t need to change, she could already fly.

I smiled with my now draconic form, flying to the castle. It was smooth skies at first, only for a massive fireball to fly at me when I got close to the castle! “Inky! Fly away, I’ll take care of this!” I honestly was just terrified that they’d hurt her, whoever it was that was flinging these fireballs.

Inky nodded and flew far out of the way of the incoming orbs.

As she did so, I spat out a glob of ink at the fireball, making it explode in mid air as I approached, using the smoke as cover, I flew right up to the source of the orbs, seeing a winged, horned pony that was all white with a multicolored mane and a yellow cloth like dress… a toga I believe? I reverted to my normal form as I landed, frowning at her as another being, who seemed to be equally as powerful, if not more so than her, appeared at her side.

The other being spoke first “For what purpose have you come here, vile wild demon?”

I sighed “Just because I am not working for anyone now, does not mean I am some horrible abomination.”

The being seemed to stiffen “Are you unaware of what you have done to that poor unicorn filly?”

I tilted my head “What do you mean?”

The being looked to the pegasus unicorn thing lady, who sighed before speaking to me. “You honestly did not realise that by breaking free like you did, you endangered her life? She is in horrifying pain right now.”

Upon hearing that, I felt a horrible twinge in my gut, shit… I needed to make this right. “How do I help her?”

The red one seemed to chuckle warmly “It seems I have underestimated you, you are no wild demon. Okay, I’ll tell you how to help her. You have to become her familiar, it will then become your responsibility to protect and look after her, as if you were her Persona, and when hers materializes, you will work alongside them.”

I nodded “And… can a pony have more than one familiar?”

The two beings looked to each other “Why do you ask?”

I smiled and waved to where I sensed Inky, whom I was hoping could see me “Because I have someone whom I cannot leave behind.”

At that moment, Inky appeared, wrapping around me briefly before floating next to me.

The red being looked briefly to her before nodding “I believe it is possible, Inky could become a familial guardian, while you become a familiar to Sweetie Bell, it is fortunate she is strong enough to become such a prestigious thing.”

I smiled and hugged Inky, accidentally groping her breast but quickly fixing it before I twirled her around and kissing her right where her lips would be “Ya hear that, sweetie?! We can stay together, and still help those little fillies!”

She nuzzled me back, kissing me and even squeezing my ass a little subtly.

I blushed before looking to the two of them “So…um... when do we start?”

The white one smiled “How about now? I do not like the thought of my little ponies being in such agony.”

I nodded “So… how should we get there? It is not like we can just fly there, well, Inky can, but I can’t exactly turn into a dragon again without causing a panic in their village.”

Smirking, Inky suddenly swept me up bridal style.

The two beings laughed now, “It seems she has things handled.” Celestia said mischievously

Giggling, Inky turned to Ponyville and shot towards it. As we flew, I felt her hand stroking my back. I blushed and held her close before giving her a kiss on the cheek as we made our way to ponyville.

Inky set us down at what looked like a schoolhouse. I frowned, not sensing Sweetie Bell there… “I guess she’s at home, must be really hurting from the summoning circle being broken… Damn it!” I looked for her life force, eventually seeing it in a carousel shaped building as I leapt into the air, flinging a bit of myself into the tree next to it before pulling the rest of me to the shard before I leapt into the windowsill that was open for some reason. I frowned when I saw Sweetie Bell and I walked to her, seeing a letter appear next to her sweating, sickly looking form with the same symbol on it as on Celestia’s hands, I grabbed it and opened it to read it.

‘Dear Ink Demon;

You must follow these steps to save Sweetie Bell, DO NOT break the order of the steps.

  1. Kneel to the pony and recite, with your eyes closed. “Child of the mortal realm, I pledge unto you my form and my life, may your foes know fear, and your friends Joy, to the end of your days.”

  2. Take her hand in yours, and press your forehead to it, eyes still closed. “May my eyes see any threat to you, your kith, or thy kin, and may my hands be quick in snuffing them out, no matter the challenge.”

  3. Finally, open your eyes and look upon her cutie mark, and whisper your true name into her ear before placing both hands upon the ponies hand, one on either hand, and recite: “I am now as thou, thou art now as I, may we walk the path of thy life together, no matter the turns it may take.”

Sincerely;

Celestia and Apollo’

I follow the steps to the letter, the rituals power feeling immense as it felt as if I was giving this young Filly a portion of my being, and vice versa, as the ritual finished, I looked to Sweetie Bell to see her opening her eyes as she looked around confusedly “What… What’s going on?”

I smiled timidly “Hello, young one, I hope you are not too upset with me, I knew not the damage my escaping Hermes had done to you.”

Sweetie Bell smiled and shook her head “No, I knew you were a good seed, I was pretty sure you’d come back eventually to check up on me.”

I smiled and nodded slowly “I sincerely hope your friends are well too?”

Sweetie Bell nodded “They’ve been checking up on me pretty much every day, in fact, they should be here soon, wanna surprize them with my recovery?”

I grinned “You, little girl, have definitely got my kinda style.”

Right then, there was a knock at my new master's door, I stood up and sat on her bed as I looked to Sweetie Bell, I smiled and nodded towards her door “Go get em, little bell.” As I said this, another scroll appeared with the same insignia as the last. I looked to it before grabbing it and opening it, Reading it for a moment before closing it “Seems you have mail Inky, mind coming out? I know you are there.” I looked to my shadow and patted it right where I sensed her tush would be.

I heard her mental giggle, before her face appeared in the shadow. She was soon out of it and floating next to me, wrapping around me in a hug.

I hugged her back as Sweetie Bell started to come back, I gestured to the chair across from me “Why don’t you take a seat, hon? I can read Celly’s letter for ya, if you want. That way you can stay all misty.”

As I said this, Sweetie Bell came in with her two friends, who froze upon seeing me “Hey! Aren’t you that demon we summoned? What are you doing in Sweetie’s room?” the orange one, Scootaloo I think her name was, exclaimed as she pointed at me accusingly.

I felt Inky twirl around me quickly, making her look like just a black smear across the ponies vision before she was suddenly in front of the three, sending a mental ‘boo!’ across the room.

Applebloom screamed like a little girl as I broke down laughing “Ok, honey, that was kinda mean…” I held out my hand “Heya, I’m Nill, how about we start over? I’m Sweetie Bells new familiar, and my girlfriend Inkie here is going to be her family guardian.”

Right as I said this, The rainbow maned pony, as well as her familiar Hermes and Two other ponies came running upstairs, accompanied by their personas. The white one was accompanied by a strange humanoid woman wearing a full white body suit and a strange skirt while holding a spool of thread in one hand, the orange mare with the stetson looked to me suspiciously as her persona, which looked like a humanoid made out of leaves, crossed his arms.

The first to speak was the leaf man, oddly enough. His voice like a whisper on the wind, yet loud enough to be heard with ease. “Why should they trust you? You are the reason that Sweetie Bell got summoning sickness in the first place. While I know that you cannot undo the ritual, I recommend you keep close tabs on him, Sweetie Bell.”

I looked to him and frowned “And she should listen to a living compost heap because… why?”

Rainbow Dash snickered slightly “Okay, that was a good burn there.” She then looked to me regretfully “Hey, uh… Sorry for attacking you like I did, I didn’t mean to cause trouble.”

I nodded slowly “I’d say we are cool, but I’m still a little miffed about the fire on my shoulder.” I gestured to the still somewhat singed part of my shoulder. “ That stung, bad.”

While we were all talking, I saw Inky doing the Ritual and snickered a little, trying to make them not notice.

I then kneeled and looked to Sweetie Bell, smiling as I tousled her hair “I’m happy I could fix the problem though.” I then looked to the white mare and smiled warmly. “And you must be Sweetie Bells sister, right? You have too eerie a resemblance for ponies not related to each other, and you are far too young to be her mother.”

The white mare smiled back at me “Yes, I am indeed her big sister! ... I must say though, your clothes are simply atrocious! Why, they are hardly more than rags!”

I shrugged and willed my rags into a frock coat and bowler hat with a cane that I leaned on comically “Does this look better madam? Or should I go for the minimalist approach and wear just my knickers?”

I saw Inky pause to nod to me at my second suggestion before continuing.

I smiled to Rarity “Or… is that what you want, madam?”

Rarity gasped and blushed hotly “How dare you even imply that?! I am a lady, not some common strumpet!”

I frowned at the two other ponies “Is she always like this? So uptight, I mean really, I was joking.” I then looked to the three fillies and gestured to them “I mean, seriously, there are children present!”

I saw Inky reach over, looking at the end of the parchment and taking a hair from Rarity’s tail, continuing the ritual.

Rarity looked behind her, right at Inky “What in equestria is that, and why did it take a hair from my tail?!”

Clotho Smiled mischievously “I was wondering when you would notice, the Meldling there has been doing a ritual to become a family guardian for you.”

Rarity looked to Clotho in shock “And why did you not tell me earlier?”

Clotho smiled to the leaf man “We found it funny, and did not notice any malevolence.”

The orange one snickered “Well, at least the ceremony is done now, she’ll guard you and your family like Epona protected mine, before she became the town guardian.”

Inky floated over to the two, tilted her head… and booped them.

The leaf man seemed to rustle his face a bit, while Clotho chuckled “Why did you do that? We are not ponies, booping does little more than make us feel odd. A boop to most ponies, by the way, will make them very confused for a few moments, mostly when they are not focused on you.”

I smiled at inky and walked over to her as I hugged her “Love you hon.” I kissed her where her cheek would be as Sweetie bell d’aawed and the orange filly gagged audibly. The black poltergeist nuzzled me… before reaching over and booping all the ponies. Somehow… Guess she was stretchy. No, bad thoughts, not in front of the fillies!

I looked around to see that everyone but Rarity was standing there with a perplexed look on their faces, Rarity however just looked to Inky with annoyance “Please stop the booping, it is considered rude in polite company.”

She earned two more boops for that.
