“Chapter 2: And the name is Aquarius”

Intro: Rhythm Emotion (From Gundam Wing)

Luxemburg, Earth (After Colony 195)

Shining Armor could only be frozen in fear as the tall mechanical creature just looked at him with the ‘face’ glowing a bit with the intent of killing him as something popped up on its right shoulder and was spinning rapidly with the barrel starting to glow.

What he didn’t know was that the second mechanical creature he was the target of was the OZ-O2MD Virgo Mobile Doll that looked like a mobile suit at first glance but was an unmanned combat drone. It had primarily a beam cannon for offense and for defense, it had four round devices on its left shoulder that were called Planet Defensors that could summon a shield for itself.

“Okay, this thing is clearly not wanting to talk…” Shining Armor said to himself.

But before he could move, all of a sudden, another tall mechanical being stepped in front of him with what looked like a red and white triangle-like shield that knocked it off to the side a bit before it surged forward and sliced the machine that had tried to kill him in half before it turned to look at him.

What Shining Armor was looking at was the XXXG-01W Wing Gundam piloted by Heero Yuy that had a pair of wings that were yellow on the outer parts with red and white parts as the rest of the machine was mostly white and blue save for the red around its feet, blue on the shoulders, blue side-skirt armor, a green gem on its chest flanked by two yellow vents, blue lower arms with what looked like yellow claws on one part of the lower arms, a yellow v-fin, red-goatee, and it was holding in its right hand a massive cannon while the left hand had the shield that saved him just now.

In the cockpit of his Gundam, Heero Yuy looked behind him to see an ordinary male around the age of Zechs looking at him and his Gundam. Under normal conditions, he would’ve destroyed him as was per the orders of all Gundam pilots; anyone who lay eyes on a Gundam wouldn’t live to tell about it.

For now, this guy seemed lost and wound up at the wrong place at the wrong time and for Heero, he needed to help get him out of this area so he quickly, but in his usual voice spoke to the guy.

“I don’t know how you ended up here, but you need to get out of here. I’ll provide cover while you escape…”

“What is going on here?! Why are there giants trying to kill me?!” Shining Armor shouted.

Heero didn’t respond as he had bigger issues to deal with at the moment as more Virgo mobile dolls kept coming towards them prompting Shining Armor to attempt to raise his signature shield, but to his horror it never showed.

“What the? Where’s my magic?!” Shining Armor shouted.

Shining Armor then decided to run, but then another group of mobile suits stepped into his path though this time they were the OZ-06 Leo mobile suits that were mostly a sage green color with bits of red on the head making him wonder if they were going to kill him as did one of them moments ago.

To his surprise, they were firing at the Virgos instead of him, but Shining Armor then saw the Virgos summon a group shield that deflected the shots before all three Leos were destroyed before his eye though one despite losing its head fell forward and a pilot stumbled out.

Shining Armor ran to the pilot that looked like he was in some type of army as he looked at Shining Armor though the Equestrian could see he was mortally wounded as the soldier then spoke to him.

“Protect…Master…Treize……I…..beg….you……”

Before Shining Armor could ask more, the pilot died in his arms just as he then turned around to see the Wing Gundam now on its rear after a shot to its right knee forced it down.

Inside the Wing Gundam, Heero knew that his options were out as he worked to provide the mystery male who had shown up out of the blue cover to escape and sighed in resignation of his fate.

Then, he received a transmission from a mysterious source though the voice sounded familiar to him as the person then contacted him in a calm voice.

“Heero, I can’t have you die here and now, come to my place now….”

Heero then, got out of the Gundam and ran away from his unit that had been his partner since the days of when he started the war against OZ and the UESA before washing up at the Sanc Kingdom along with another Gundam pilot named Quatre.

He soon met up with Shining Armor who was hiding behind an overturned car and the two finally saw each other face to face as Heero got a long look at Shining Armor as did the Equestrian in return.

Heero had the most piercing blue eyes that made Shining Armor a bit nervous along with his stoic expression that went with his brown hair. Shining Armor also saw Heero wear what looked like a school uniform making him think he was a mercenary or something.

Shining Armor waited for Heero to kill him due to the latter’s expression, but Heero instead offered his hand and pulled Shining Armor up as the Equestrian then spoke to him.

“What’s going on? Who is this Trieze? Where are we going?”

Heero said nothing, but motioned him to follow him as the two then left the battlefield as they soon came before a sight; a mansion belonging to the Victorian-era in a sea of trees.

Both soon entered the building for some reason that bothered Shining Armor as a computerized voice seemed to recognize Heero as both were soon in a library of sorts.

“What is this place? What is going on?! I need answers.” Shining Armor said.

“This place happens to be owned by the leader of OZ and who happens to be loyal to the group the Romefeller Foundation. As for who am I, I’m Heero Yuy, but don’t expect anything more out of me.” Heero Yuy said in his stoic voice.

“I have some answers you seek…”

The duo turned to the source of the voice and it was Trieze Khushrenada in all his form that to Shining Armor’s eyes reminded me of the Canterlot elite mostly due to his blue and white outfit with black boots, gold shoulder tassels, and black cloak covering his left arm.

The blue eyes of Trieze first went to Heero and then to Shining Armor himself as the Equestrian got uncomfortable as Trieze adjusted his chestnut brown hair a bit before he spoke to the duo.

“I bid you welcome Heero Yuy, I have been hoping someone like you would come. However, there is another matter that needs to be attending now…namely the guest you brought with you…. tell me….who….or what are you that you’re with Heero Yuy?”

“Shining Armor…and what is going on here?” Shining Armor said.

“If it is answers you seek, then I shall provide them…” Trieze said calmly.

For the next several minutes, the imprisoned leader of OZ took the liberty of telling Shining Armor of the world he was in called the After-Colony Era that started with the construction of several space stations in space thus starting the After-Colony timeline and ending the AD calendar.

The next parts however disturbed Shining Armor greatly as he learned from both Trieze and Heero of how the United Earth Sphere Alliance was formed in AC 133, their activities including their invasion of the Sanc Kingdom due to their pacifist views, the rise and assassination of the original Heero Yuy, and the development of mobile suits including the Tallgeese and Wing Gundam Zero that paved the way for other mobile suits to follow.

Heero despite not being much of a talker discussed to Shining Armor of how the Gundams were created and the original Operation Meteor was supposed to go; drop a space colony on Earth and send the Gundams to seize control, but it was changed by most members involved due a sense of humanity in them.

As he was getting closer to the present, Shining Amor was showing his hate for what Trieze and what his allies had done including tricking Heero into shooting down a shuttle full of members of the UESA who wanted to discuss peace terms with the colonies.

Shining Armor for some reason told both Treize and Heero Yuy of who he was, how he grew up, and all of the other events in his life up until the present day.

Once Shining Armor was told of everything, he needed to know including the split between the Trieze faction and the Romefeller Foundation due to the usage of mobile dolls, he looked confused and angry at once as Trieze took notice of it and spoke to him.

“I see the look you have, so go ahead and kill me…if Heero won’t do it…”

However, neither Shining Armor nor Heero Yuy bothered to try and kill Treize right now much to Treize’s surprise as he then spoke to the duo.

“What’s the matter with you two? Aren’t either one of you going to kill me? The battle outside will not end as long as I’m alive.”

“Why did you let both me and Shining Armor in?” Heero asked.

“I programed the computer to recognize you a few months ago Heero, as for you Shining Armor…you’re just a variable I didn’t expect, but I welcome it….I thought I could have a long, proper discussion with you and the other Gundam pilots which has been partially fulfilled due to your unexpected companion…” Treize said calmly.

Heero then spoke, “I have no interest in you Treize…”

“Of course not, you pilots always should be thinking about obtaining peace through the Earth or rather, peace that will spread throughout the universe and multi-verse…” Treize said calmly.

Treize then started to walk down the stairs towards the duo as Heero still kept his gun trained on Treize as Shining Armor was ready to punch Trieze into a pulp as Heero then spoke again.

“Fighting is the only thing I’m concerned with. Peace is just nothing more as a thing that results when the fighting ends…”

“My only concern is to get home, I could care less about what Heero or what you Treize do…” Shining Armor said.

“Then let me ask you two this, who are your enemies? Is it me? OZ? Romefeller? Or for you Heero Yuy, the colonies who have betrayed you?” Treize asked.

Heero then spoke, “Anyone who stand before me with the intention of kill me are my enemies…”

“Then, your battles will never end as destiny itself is your enemy.” Trieze said.

“Maybe so, but that doesn’t concern me as fighting is the only choice I have and I don’t give a damn when I do die…” Heero said.

“For me, my enemies are the ones that threaten my home of Equestria that could include you Treize…” Shining Armor said.

Treize cocked an eyebrow and spoke, “Is that so? Tell me, when was the last time your home ever had to fight a war?”

“The last time I had to ever fight was when King Sombra tried to take the Crystal Empire and when Queen Chrysalis tried to invade my home with the latter almost succeeding, but both times we managed to win by a miracle.” Shining Armor said.

“Then tell me, how could some nation like yours nearly end up sharing the same fate as the Sanc Kingdom from years ago? Was it you all became complacent? If that is the case, your nation will not live long against others who want to take your home. Did it ever occur to you as a soldier that unless your military is strong, your nation’s desire for friendship and harmony could be a sign of weakness…” Trieze said.

“Maybe so, but it is what makes us strong…” Shining Armor said.

Trieze then spoke, “I see, you’re destined for more fighting and unless your nation and you get strong again, your nation will always be a target for all eternity. As for you Heero Yuy, don’t you have any desire to enjoy your destiny? In my opinion, Relena Peacecraft is a much stronger person than you.”

When neither Heero nor Shining Armor bothered to try and move, Treize took that as a sign of something else and then calmly spoke to them as he got down to the bottom of the stairs and started to walk away from the duo.

“I never thought neither one of you would be having limitations on your continuous battles. But, it is a fact that no one can change the course of our times or your times Shining Armor.”

“Well, you should be able to as you used to have the power to control the future. You just need to repeat what you did before.” Heero said.

“I have no intention of doing just that.” Treize said with his eyes closed for a bit.

Heero then spoke, “I see…”

“My greatest happiness is being able to talk not just to you, but also to your unexpected and unique companion you saved.” Treize said.

Seconds later after walking a bit way from the duo, Trieze pulled out a gun and pointed at Heero and Shining Armor before he then spoke again to the duo as Shining Armor grabbed a nearby rapier sword and pointed at Trieze.

“And now I truly understand, the time of my own death must coincide with yours Heero and maybe Shining Armor’s as well. Now that we’ve all met each other, let us put ourselves in God’s hands.”

“Not a very good loser, well that makes it no different for me.” Heero said.

“A soldier who is willing to die in my opinion is the most correct attitude one can take to fight, but sadly you don’t know who your real enemy is which makes you and Shining Armor the same as me as my battles have come to an end.” Treize said.

Shining Armor frowned and spoke, “What are you talking about? There are men out there right now dying for you.”

“I agree with Shining Armor here as the battle is not over as like what he said, you have men dying for your cause and moreover, you.” Heero said.

“If anything has ended or rather what should end, it is my own miserable and useless resistance. I implore both of you to not disappoint me any further. Neither one of you must end up like me.” Treize said calmly.

Moments later, Treize then walked over to a bookshelf and pulled out what looked like a book, but it was a container for a pair of cards that Treize held in his left hand as he then spoke again calmly while looking at Heero and Shining Armor.

“I have a pair of guides who can show you the way Heero…and Shining Armor…of how to live your lives from here on out…”

Seconds later, he slid one card into a statue resembling a lion before he did the same with another card, but it resembled a lioness as both statues had their eyes glow red for the lion and blue for the lioness.

Suddenly, the walls in front of them parted ways to show a tall marron-colored Gundam mobile suit with a pair of wings standing right in front of Heero and Shining Armor.

What got the duo’s attention was another Gundam mobile suit to the left of the marron-colored Gundam, but this one was mostly a dark gray and dark blue in color with what looked like spikes jutting out of its shoulders with hints of yellow here and there.

“A pair of brand new model type mobile suits?” Heero asked.

“Yes, it is a pair of brand-new mobile suits as for that, I have given them the names Epyon and Aquarius or their designation full names OZ-13MS Epyon Gundam and OZ-14MS Aquarius Gundam.” Trieze said.

“Why did you decide to build not one, but two Gundam-type mobile suits?” Heero asked.

Trieze walked forward a bit and spoke, “All my life I’ve wondered and asked myself why humans fight? Or do they fight as they sense their existence through continuous fighting. However, I found that not to be the answer and I’m still looking for that answer as my battles are now over.”

“We fight to protect our homes, our families, and our way of life from people like you Trieze.” Shining Armor said with a frown.

Trieze ignored Shining Armor and spoke, “The thing is that not all conflicts are Black and White as your train of thought has been tempered to do so. However, I have yet to find a reason to fight and to find that reason, I figured a Gundam or two would allow me to do so. In addition, I would like to give my blessings to both the winners and the losers as these two units before us allows me to do so.”

“Are you claiming you’ve built a pair of Gods or something?” Heero asked.

“Maybe I have as long as a warrior or warriors have a genuine will to fight. The Epyon will eliminate all distractions as will the Aquarius as there is nothing more beautiful than a warrior or a pair of warriors with no distractions. One could say they’re the closest thing to God and his loyal followers in Heaven. I built Aquarius and Epyon to see to it that humanity is reminded that there will always a place for living, breathing creatures on the battlefield and that by growing dependent on unmanned machines, humanity will stagnate and grow lazy to the point where war is nothing, but a game and would fall into ruin.” Trieze said calmly.

“I don’t believe in God or an afterlife…” Heero said with a slight snarl.

Trieze nodded and spoke, “Then show me your abilities in your future battles Heero Yuy.”

Heero Yuy then walked forward towards Epyon with the intent of piloting it, but for some reason Shining Armor didn’t move as he stared at both units including Aquarius as Trieze disappeared for a moment before reappearing with a pair of pilot suits for both Gundams.

The stoic Gundam pilot accepted the pilot suit for Epyon including the unusual helmet before heading to Epyon and boarding the unit as Shining Armor was surprised to see Treize had him a pilot suit for Aquarius as well as the Equestrian spoke to the former head of OZ.

“Why are you giving me this? What is the meaning of all this?”

Trieze looked at Aquarius and spoke, “I’ve always hoped that someone of your character would come along as the true function of Aquarius is the destruction of Mobile Dolls by broadcasting a virus to disable enemy Mobile Dolls enemy identification component leaving them easy pickings for Aquarius or the Epyon. However, it only is armed with a pair of heat rod whips. I made it so it can use weapons from the Leo mobile suit if it needs to. Regretfully there wasn’t much of a future for me…Use this machine Shining Armor and show me that you are worthy of being called a knight of your home of Equestria and that your name isn’t just for show.”

Moments later, Shining Armor reluctantly put on the pilot suit that was dark gray and dark blue in color with a red stripe and boarded the Aquarius Gundam.

At the same time, the Epyon Gundam booted up and both Heero and Shining Armor received an incoming message from Treize who then spoke to the duo.

“Heero, Shining Armor, I want you both to return to me not as winners, but as losers. Just remember the Epyon and the Aquarius aren’t just weapons, they are tools. I will not let either one of you two die as I’ve taken the liberty of disarming the self-destruct device on both units.”

“I hope the same…” Heero said calmly.

Both Gundams then left with the Epyon transforming into a fighter that looked like a double-headed dragon that the Aquarius Gundam hoped on and both headed out to the battlefield.

Back at the battle, the mobile suits loyal to Trieze were losing the battle as their Leos kept going down left and right as more Virgos kept on coming with one of them speaking out.

“Damn, there’s just no end to them! That Dermail sent in additional troops!”

Another pilot spoke, “Just keep fighting! The outcome doesn’t matter!”

Then one of the Leos picked up something on his radar or rather a pair of unknowns heading towards the battle that were actually the Epyon and Aquarius Gundams that prompted the Leo pilot to speak up.

“A pair of objects are approaching from 6’o clock!”

Then the Aquarius Gundam leapt off of the Epyon Gundam so the latter could transform into mobile suit mode as one of the Leo pilots spoke up in surprise.

“What’s that? A Gundam? No wait, a pair of Gundams?”

Another Leo pilot spoke, “Both are unregistered! We have no data on either one of them!”

Inside the Aquarius Gundam, Shining Armor was starting to breath heavily as the effects of special system in the Gundam were showing him various outcomes and scenarios that were threatening to break him.

“Stop…it…Aquarius…” Shining Armor said in a strained voice.

On the other hand at the same time, Heero was going through the same a bit more calmly as the Epyon Gundam charged up its heat rod weapon and charged into the fray with the Aquarius Gundam following suit seconds later.

The Virgos tried to intercept, but then found their combat data was gone leaving them all sitting ducks for the Epyon and the Aquarius Gundams as each Gundam took down a trio before one of the Leo pilots spoke up.

“Hang on, are they our allies?”

Both Gundams charged forward towards a pair of Leos, but then they stopped at the last second as if they had heard the screams of the Leo pilots before both stopped near a building.

“What is happening to us?” Shining Armor asked.

“Are they the enemy? No, they’re being told to fight.” Heero said to himself.

Heero and Shining Armor then heard a trio of Leos heading to destroy them as both pilots groaned in the strain of the exposure of the infamous ZERO System that Heero had encountered before, but Shining Armor was being exposed to it for the first time as Heero spoke up.

“It’s the same…it’s just like the Wing Zeros…”

Then, the Epyon Gundam pulled out its second weapon which was a massive beam sword and held it high in the air as the Aquarius Gundam picked up a downed Leo shield and activated its beam saber as Heero then spoke up.

“Anyone who fights against me or Shining Armor is my enemy!”

Epyon then charged forward and started to slice apart any mobile suit Leo or Virgo that got in its way as the Aquarius Gundam followed suit to ensure no one left the battlefield alive except for Heero and Shining Armor as the duo devastated the base into a smoldering ruin.

Inside the Epyon Gundam, Heero was breathing very heavily as he started to hear voices in his head from his past including memories of Operation Meteor as well until the present day:

“Heero! I want you to promise me that you’ll come back to me!”

“Protect Master Trieze I beg you…”

“Regretfully, there wasn’t much of a future for me.”

Heero then spoke, “My future…my death…”

The normally stoic Gundam pilot then groaned in pain as the Epyon Gundam stopped on top of a hill along with the Aquarius Gundam as Shining Armor also started to hear voices:

“Twily!”

“If I were you, I wouldn’t show up at the wedding.”

“My love will give you strength.”

“It was an honor of you to serve the Royal Guard Captain Shining Armor.”

“Are you and Cadence going to start giving me grand-foals?”

Shining Armor then spoke, “My sister, my wife, my family, my friends…my death?”

Both Gundams then left the area and returned to Trieze’s mansion where the two came out of their cockpits with both panting heavily as Trieze walked up to them and spoke.

“So, did you two each see your futures?”

Trieze didn’t hear either pilot speak as he then pulled out a pair of fancy pistols and held them both by their barrels as he then spoke to the duo again.

“Let’s get started, shall we?”

However, neither Shining Armor nor did Heero bothered as both simply collapsed onto the ground with their Gundams behind them as Trieze simply sighed before he pulled both into his mansion to rest.

The next morning, both Heero and Shining Armor left with the latter in a great hurry as Heero was in the lead with the Epyon in flight mode as Shining Armor then spoke up.

“Where are we going?”

Heero then spoke, “To the Sanic Kingdom…”
