Chapter one Devil Dog

Location:Iran
Time:11:06 am
Mission briefing: multiple hostiles belonging to Iranian forces, use extreme caution when engaing, Abrams will be in support.
Squads:first recon, 2nd Armored, 4th Raider
POV:Jack/ Viper

The sounds of treads was filling the air, the sand whipping Jacksons face as he stood outside of the Abrams tank. The deserts of Iran were especially hot this year and the tank wasn't helping the situation. "Hey Viper when we gonna be done with this mission again?" Python asked as the abrams rolled down the road.

"Hell I don't know maybe when you shut your fuckin mouth!" Cobra said annoyed at the constant question, the tank continued down the road but as they passed the buildings a sudden fealing of fear came up Viper not wanting to end like the other tanks ordered everyone to close the hatches and get ready for anything. It didn't take long for something to happen when an insurgent on a roof fired a RPG directly at the tank blowing a track apart.

"SHIT WHAT HAPPENED" Viper yelled as he shook off the sudden burst, realizing shit was going down he quickly yelled "GET ON THE FUCKING .50 CAL!" while opening the command hatch and firing 5 shots from his 1911 at the men surounding the tank.

"HOLD THE LINE" Cobra yelled.

"THEY'RE EVERYWHERE" Python screamed

"RPG!" a Marine yelled as suddenly a sudden heat was felt through the tank before Viper saw nothing but darkness.

FLASHBACK

"Promis me you'll come home?" A women asked as she watched the young man walk towards the Humvee.

"Don't worry mom I'll be back" Jack said getting into the vehicle waving to him mother as they pulled of towards the highway.

FLASHBACK END

"viper!"

"wake up man!"

"COME ON MAN!" Cobra was yelling at Viper as he started opening his eyes.

"*Cough!-Cough! *I'm good go *cough* help the others." Viper croaked out as he stood up, looking around he saw the pain and destruction caused by the attack, the captain had a hole where his head should be, a few marines were burned badly and Python was riddled with bullet holes and suddenly he got a radio signal.

"*BBZZZZZTTTTT* ALL UNITS WE HAVE A CODE *BBBBBSSSSSTTTTGFD* ANYONE GETTING THIS MESSAGE PLEASE RESPO-" the radio operator on the other end had been silenced the voice sounded like charlie, a 18 year old recruit who Viper had been training for serpant squad, but now the squad was done surrounded on all sides with enough ammo for maybe an hour. A sudden rippling sound filled the air which many of the Marines recognized.

"MORTAR RUN!" A Marine yelled as everyone started running towards the exit until only Viper and Cobra was left,however before they could get out a mortar hit the building causing debris to come down on the door, both marines were thrown back with Cobra being thrown into a metal pole which impaled him, Viper shook off the blast and tried to help Cobra.

"V-Viper *Cough* y-you need to go now" Cobra slurred as blood came out from his mouth grabbing Viper by the collar he pulled him to his face "V-VIPER LOOK AT ME *COUGH* *COUGH* I'M DONE FOR go n-now" Viper barely heard the last part as his best friend fell limp, blood slowly dropping from his mouth and stomach.

"C-Cobra *sniff* come on man wake up please *sniff* I-I don't want to go alone" Viper pleaded with the dead man for a few minutes before giving up and heading off only to hear a mortar and suddenly feel nothing.

Meanwhile, in Cantorlot

Princess Celestia had just felt a magical surge one she had not felt for years 'not since... him' Celestia thought to herself not noticing Luna or the letter from her student arriving about the same topic, after a talk with Luna she sent a letter to Twilight instructing her and the other elements to search the area of the surge, then report what they found. Little did anyone know that what they would find would open old wounds for the solar and lunar princesses.

The Everfree forest

Viper never felt so much pain before, he had a ringing in his ears, sharp pains in his legs, and the feeling of a few broken bones. 'At least I'm not dead' he thought to himself as he tried standing up only to collapse immediantly looking down at his legs he saw a lot of shrapnel sticking out of his left and right legs. Going over the ideas in his head about how to get out of the situation he didn't notice six pairs of eyes staring at him through a bush.

meanwhile in the... bush

"what the hay is that thing?." A raspy tomoyish cyan pegasus asked

"I don't know but look at it's clothing." a White Unicorn said with disgust.

"Y'all think it's kinda strange it ain't standing up?" an Orange pony said

"I can't wait to study a new spieces" a Purple Unicorn stated with happiness

"It's hurt" said the shy Yellow Pegasus

the other five heads turned towards their yellow friend, "Fluttershy what do you mean it's hurt?" twilight asked as she looked back at the creature which was currently trying to drag its lower half across the floor towards the backpack they found, thinking it was trying to steal it, twilight quickly moved the pack into the bush, watching the creature suddenly look around before it began attempting to stand, moving towards the bush they were in making pained noises the while time.

Rainbow having noticed the thing stand and begin moving towards the bush they were in, acting fast she flew out of the bush and attacked it in the leg, hearing the sound of metal passing through flesh she looked at the thing as it doubled over clutching its leg which... was full of... metal bits, trying not to barf she quickly retreated from the creature, watching Fluttershy tried come out and move towards it. Only to be cut off by applejack who tried attacking it as well and when she bucked it a resounding crack came from the creature as it was sent flying into a tree before falling forward limp. But amazingly it got back up attempting to crawl away only to be stopped by Fluttershy who made her way towards it and began cleaning the wounds and dressing them.

None of them expected the thing to remove its helmet but when it did they saw how young it looked without it, the being stared into the eyes of the six before it fell limp finally loosing consciousness.

The last thing Viper could hear from the six creatures was something about a princess and a letter as his adrenaline wore off and the motherly voice dissolved he slipped into unconscious finally getting sleep for more than six hours.

Author's Note

One thing to note about Viper is he is currently 19 years old and Cobra was 22 years old both of them have been friends which I'll explain in the next chapter. Also the reason why he stood back up even after breaking bones and being kicked by AJ, and eventually collapses. he's a freaking Marine not super man he takes hits but eventually he drops (plus body armor)
