Previous ChapterNext ChapterSeven hours, seven fucking hours, that’s how long it took to see what was causing that shimmer, it was a city. The area around it was surrounded by a wall of swirling snow almost like a snow storm. But what really drew my attention was the building themselves. They looked like they were made of crystal.
I openly gaped in shock when I caught sight of the citadel in the center of the city, it was almost a thousand meters high and wide, looking at it more closely it kind of reminded me of the iflel tower. Looking down I estimated the border of the city was maybe an hour away.
As I walked I started to look at the spell craft book and began to put together three simple spells, one was a shield spell, then I made a spell that made my fur look like the surrounding area. The third shot a bolt of lightning out the tip of one of my tails.
I had just finished when I realized that I had reached the border of the city, looking around I noticed that the city seemed empty and almost depressing. Then I saw why, a line of multi colored ponies, foals attached to chains being led to a mine. Looking at the armor of the ones doing the leading and the feeling of wrongness and hatred they gave off I deduced that they were evil and needed to be destroyed.
Realizing that I was outnumbered I decided to do a sneaky approach by casting my chameleon spell, I began to walk towards the armored pony. Drawing back my spear I thrust it forwards into the back of its head. Blood spattered across the ground, I stepped back to avoid the blood trail so my fur didn’t get hit revealing my location.
Unfortunately, I failed to remember that while I blended end with my surrounding’s my spear did not neither did my book, I did however remember this when a halberd passed next to my muzzle, blocking the second swing of the enraged guard with my spear I lashed out with my claws catching the guard across the throat. My claws easily tore through the guard’s armor with a spatter of blood like a knife through paper.
The fourth guard had turned tail and tried to run away to alert the other guards in the area. I had unfortunately for him put a end to that endeavor with a well-placed lightning bolt to the back of his armored head. His corpse had crumpled like a ragdoll a few second after it had hit him.
Turning to look at the chained ponies I realized that they were all staring at me in fear. Yet somewhere in their eyes there was hope, a hope that I would free them. Looking at the bodies of the guards I tried to find a key for the shackles that they were wearing. Upon finding it I threw it to the first pony.
“Take those keys unlock your fellows, grab the weapons and armor and free the rest of you, it appears that it is time for a revolution, I’m going to find the fucker that runs this place and kill him.”
With that said I reactivated my chameleon spell and ran towards the citadel in the center figuring that was where the ruler of this place was. I ran in to more guards along the way but with a few well-placed lightning spells and a swipe of my claws I ended their charge early.
I had almost reached the main gates when the statue of a gryphon that had been on the pedestal in front of them came to life and tried to rip my throat out. The only thing that had saved me was the shield spell I had made. Me having activated it after a guard had almost hit me with a thrown spear, even then the blow still sent me flying backwards into a wall.
I quickly stood up and flung a lightning bolt at the statue but it simply dispersed on the shimmering stone. It was then I realized that the dammed thing was immune to magic, charging forward I tried to impale the dammed griffin golem on my spear. But the blade only went in about four inches before it smacked me in the chest once again sending me flying.
When I landed, it was on my back. My vision was blurry as a I stared at the smoke-filled sky, shaking my head to clear my vision, it was then that I heard something stomping towards me and glanced backwards. That something was a very angry golem with a gash in it’s chest.
I had just enough time to roll over as it brought its foreleg down where my head had been, I quickly kicked it with my back paws sending it in the air where it landed on an unfortunate guard. I got up as fast as I could and grabbed the spear with my tail flinging it at the gryphon. I managed to hit it in the head killing it.
As I padded over to my spear and the dead golem I felt a warm liquid dripping down my chest, I was bleeding from a small gash in the armour on the upper side of my chest, the blood matting my fur. As I took in my surroundings I noticed that I could hear fighting all-around me.
I guess that those ponies listened to what I said and are actually fighting back, good that means less work for me. Now I just need to find the leader.
Passing the last pair of gates, I walked up the stairs keeping a steady pace so I didn’t mess up my chameleon spell. I ended up I a chamber with multiple reinforced doors. The first room I walked into was a kitchen if I had to guess, the second was a long hall way that had multiple doors.
Walking down the hallway I realized it was the bedrooms, walking back the way I came, I went down another hallway with a large pair of doors on the other end. Opening the doors, I realized that this was another door room, the major difference was it only had one door.
I walked through them and immediately realized that I had just walked into the throne room. The room itself was round and about 20 feet in radius and 10 high. The walls were adorned with windows made of dark crystal, multiple ponies were chained to the walls.
And there was my target a black unicorn with silver armor and a red cape, my eyes were drawn to the mare he was about to impale with his horn . Upon seeing me his eyes widened in anger and threw the mare to the side.
Standing up he shot a spear made of shadow at my head but my shield blocked the projectile. Reacting I charged with my spear and managed to glance his armor leaving a long gash down one side. Ducking under another bolt of black magic i slashed at him with my claw but he managed to lean his head to the side. Jumping back to avoid a blow from one of his hooves I tried to stab him again but he brought up a wall of crystal between him and me.
Stepping back, he eyed me curiously “who are you creature, I wish to know whose name I shall put under your corpse as an example to all those who defied me, king Sombra. Or maybe I’ll keep you as a pet to unleash upon my enemies”
Looking down at Sombra I thought about that question. I was in a new world with a new body and new skills. Who was I now.
“Listen and hear me Sombra tyrant of the crystals. My name is Jinx, the father of foxes, champion of Inari, and I have come to take your throne and liberate your subjects, as that is my word, my oath to you upon my soul.” with that declaration i began to give off a white shine. He actualy cringed backwards from the light like it was physically harming him
Taking my chance I flung my spear at him with all five of my tails. The super powered spear throw tore through his wall like tissue paper. His eyes widened in shock and pain as the spear collided with his chest and with the sound of tearing metal sent him flying back impaled above the throne like piñata. Blood dripping from his armored corpse
As I sat and stared at my handy work I turned to look at the ponies that were now freeing themselves with the help of the mare that Sombra had thrown off to the side. Just then four ponies burst through the door wearing bright blue armor and wielding short sword. At the same time, the crown that had been on sombra’s head fell of and landed on mine.
All thirty ponies in the room stared and looked at me and then one by one starting with the stallion dressed in scribe robes and a cutiemark of a large inkpot and ending with the last of the guards began to bow, “all hail the emperor, all hail the king slayer, father of foxes, Champion of Inari
I just stared back, aghast. Well I did say I was going to take his throne.
