This is my first attempt at a clopfic, bear with me people.

Twilight's jaw was almost to the floor, she couldn't believe her eyes. The cutie map was summoning for a friendship mission. It had been awhile since the cutie map went off, and the mane six were wondering if the map would ever call them for a mission again, but Twilight soon discovered that the map indeed still works. But that's not what had Twilight surprised.

The map was summoning just two ponies for the mission. She recognized Rainbow Dash's cutie mark, but the other mark was not a member of the Mane six, not Starlight, but Spike!

Rainbow Dash raced into the map room with her cutie mark pulsing, showing her that the map was calling her. Spike came into the map room huffing and puffing as his green scales were doing the same thing. The two of them came to the table to see what was going on.

"My cutie mark went off while I was training with the Wonderbolts", the Blue pegasus said, "I didn't think i'd ever see the map go off again, who am I going with?"

"I am not accustomed to my scales going off like this, especially when i'm trying to take a nap", Spike scowled, "But it's exciting i guess, who am I going with?"

Twilight pulled her jaw closed and then looked at her two friends.

"According to the map, the both of you have been called to do a friendship mission together", Twilight replied.

"I still can't believe it, this is the first time that this has happened, I never thought the map would ask for the two of you."

Twilight then looked at the purple dragon and the cyan mare, who were looking at the map, and then looked at each other. Then to Twilight's surprise the two jumped in air and high fived.

"Awesome" they both said.

"This is going to be some much fun", Rainbow said excitingly.

"Yeah", said Spike, I finally get to leave Ponyville to go on a friendship mission."

"Hang on you two!", said a familiar voice. Before the two friends knew it, they were both frozen still.

Twilight was using a temporary magic freeze spell on them.

"I don't think going on this mission is a good idea!"

"Aww c'mon Twilight", complained Spike, "Why in equestria not?"

"I just don't think it's safe!" The purple alicorn explained.

"You're still just a baby dragon Spike, and you've only been on one friendship mission" she continued.

"Plus this mission could be very dangerous, who knows what's out there in northern equestria. There could be dangerous manticores, there could be terrifying swamp beasts, you could get sick from some terrible disease that i can't probably cure!"

Twilight babbled on and on until Rainbow Dash intervened.

"Don't worry Twilight, Spike will be fine. He will be traveling with the greatest flier in equestria, the bravest pony in all of equestria, and don't forget the coolest!"

"Believe me he will be in good hooves" Rainbow Dash finished with her chest out.

"I still don't know", said Twilight, "I'm just not comfortable with the maps decision. I think the map might actually be on the fritz this time!"

"I would feel more comfortable sending Applejack, or Fluttershy or maybe even Pinkie Pie" Twilight declared.

Spike rolled his eyes and let out a sigh.

"They've all got their own things to do, plus i'm now on a break from the Wonderbolts. C'mon give the guy a chance", said Rainbow sweetly.

"Besides it's been awhile since we got to hang out and do something, it's also gives him a break from being your slave" she said jokingly.

She started to laugh and Spike thought it was pretty funny as well and joined in. As they finished laughing, they looked at the stern looking purple pony who had one eyebrow raised.

"Assistant!" Twilight corrected, "Spike is my assistant, not my slave!"

She then sighed and knew it would be no use arguing with the pegasus.

"Alright, i'll let you guys go on the friendship mission," she then looked sternly at Rainbow Dash right in the eye.

"And if anything happens to Spike during the mission, i'll cut all your important feathers on your wings off to a point that it will take a year for them to grow back!"

Rainbow Dash gulped and then looked down at the worried looking dragon.

"She's right Dash, she's been doing a lot of studying based on pegasi and she's not kidding," Spike winced.

A few hours later.................................

Spike had gathered all of things that he thought he might need for the mission. Twilight even made sure that he had what he needed.

"Backpack(Check), tent(Check), sleeping bag(Check), pillow(Check)".

The list was all to high strung that it was too much for the young dragon to bear. So he made sure to pack things that he wanted, like one of his comic books, Ruby gems for him to snack on, and of course his favorite picture of his favorite pony (Crush) Rarity.

"Can't forget that" Spike thought to himself.

"How much she will think of me now that i am now going on friendship missions out of Ponyville".

Spike made his way to one of the lush grass fields out by Ponyville. High above was Rainbow Dash's house and Spike was told to wait underneath her house cause she needed some time to prepare. Well it seemed like forever cause Rainbow was taking her sweet time getting ready. Spike started to nibble on one of his rubies that he brought with him for his trip. After he finished it, he opened up his bag and started to read his comic. He was halfway finished by the time the cyan pegasus finally flew out from her house and then buzzed Spike so fast that it almost blew his comic away.

"Rainbow!" Spike shouted to the rainbow mare.

"What's the big idea?" "I've been waiting for you for almost an hour!" Rainbow meanwhile was up above him chuckling, she loved to get under the little dragons skin.

"Sorry Spike," said Rainbow as she landed beside him trying hard to not laugh.

"I was packing for the mission and then i fell asleep, must've been more tired than i thought" she finished with a yawn.

She then grabbed Spike's comic with her mouth, and then gave it to him, Spike then grabbed his comic and then put it back in his bag.

"Well I would've liked to start the mission without getting buzzed and almost loosing my favorite comic," Spike said looking the rainbow pegasus in the eyes.

Rainbow chuckled again quietly and then put her hoof around him.

"I'm sorry Spike," She replied, "I just like to have a little fun sometimes, but i'm ready when you are".

Spike then smiled and nodded his head. Then the two friends began to head for northern equestria to begin their friendship mission.

Beginning of the mission....

So far, the trip was going perfectly. Spike walked along with his bag over his back while Rainbow Dash flew above him. She would fly ahead of him to check out the path ahead, and then come back and tell him that everything was all good. The hours passed, and the trip seemed to be taking awhile. Spike's feet were starting to hurt him to a point where he had to stop every half hour and have a break. Rainbow thought this was taking too long, and knew that they were burning daylight.

"C'mon Spike this is taking way too long, let's get a move on" Rainbow called.

Spike looked over and knew that Rainbow was right.

"I'm trying to go further distances Dash, but my feet are killing me!" Spike replied wincing in pain.

Rainbow was about to say something cocky, but remembered Twilight's warning,

"If anything happens to Spike you're getting the most important feathers on your wings cut off!"

Rainbow gulped and then turned and looked at Spike.

"Hop on!"

Spike looked at her with surprise.

"Are you sure?" He asked, "Are you sure you can carry me and my bag on your back?"

Rainbow looked at the little dragon and smiled.

"Of course I can, I'm the awesome Rainbow Dash, I can do anything! And i would never leave my friend hanging, I am the element of loyalty after all" she explained.

Spike was moved by Rainbow's touching words, and quickly grabbed his bag and hopped onto her back.

"Hang on Squirt", Rainbow Dash called, "This is really going to blow you away!"

Before Spike could say anything they were soaring through the air going extremely fast, good thing Rainbow let Spike use her goggles. At first Spike was a little nervous, but seeing how fast the pegasus was going and how much land they were covering, Spike new that he would be safe riding on her back.

Soon the sun was starting to disappear, meaning that Princess Celestia's day was over and that soon Princess Luna would be raising the moon. Rainbow then started to flap her wings very gradually and started to make her descent.

She had chosen a quiet and flat spot in a meadow next to a small stream, the perfect place to camp for the night. Spike had a lot of fun riding on Rainbow's back, and was kinda sad that the day was now over. As he started to unpack for the night he heard Rainbow starting to complain really loudly, he could've sworn Rarity had joined them.

"What's wrong Dash?" asked Spike.

He noticed Rainbow digging through her bag.

"I forgot to bring my tent and favorite pillow" She replied. Spike giggled.

"You have a favorite pillow?"

Rainbow then quickly turned her head and then glared at the young dragon.

"Yes I do, and don't go telling any other pony that!" She snarled.

Spike nodded and then Pinkie promised not to tell any other pony.

"Oh well, it don't matter, I'll just find a small cloud and sleep on that instead" Rainbow said.

Spike was surprised that she said that.

"Nonsense Rainbow, you can sleep in my tent that i brought" Spike suggested, showing her the tent that he bought some time ago.

The tent was definitely big enough for the two of them, and Spike had even managed to bring an extra pillow with him. Rainbow eyed the tent, she smiled and then chuckled.

"Sorry Spike, but i only share tents when I'm with Scootaloo."

Spike rolled his eyes and then started to make a fire.

"Suit yourself but if it gets cold outside and the fire dies out, I'm not getting up to re-light it" Spike declared. Rainbow Dash laughed.

"I've slept outside many times and have never gotten cold, I am totally used to this".

She was flying about 2 feet off the ground when she was saying this. Spike raised his eyebrow.

"Even during the end of Summer? It gets cold out here this time of year".

Rainbow laughed again, this time nervously.

"Yup totally!"

Later that night....

As the day turned into night, the two friends were sitting around the fire roasting marshmallows. They were having a good time, talking about their adventures and all of the stuff that had happened over the last couple years.

Rainbow then needed to use the little fillies room and then flew off to take care of her business. While Rainbow was gone, Spike then decided to look at his picture of Rarity that he brought. Looking at the picture of his favorite pony made him slightly sad. He was excited to be on a mission with Rainbow Dash, but deep down wanted to go on the mission with Rarity instead. He was lost in thought and so preoccupied with his picture of Rarity he didn't even hear the blue pegasus return.

"Hey what do you have there?" asked Rainbow.

Spike jumped and quickly put the picture back in his bag.

"Holy Sweet Celestia Rainbow, don't scare me like that!" Spike shouted.

The pegasus couldn't help but laugh, it was just too funny.

"Sorry Spike I couldn't help it, you were just lost in dream land I just had to make sure that you were still here".

Spike calmed down, and then began to blush. Rainbow smiled, and then gave him a hug.

"Don't worry buddy. I know what you were looking at, it's totally fine that you have a crush on Rarity. I think it's cute the way you look at her every time you go see her".

Spike was surprised at what Rainbow said, he didn't know what to say at first.

"How could you possibly think that?"

Rainbow chuckled.

"This ain't the first time I've seen somepony with a crush on some other pony, let's say that i have been around the barn a few times".

This made Spike a bit more comfortable, this was Rainbow Dash after all.

"Yeah you're right, I do have a crush on her" Spike confessed while looking at his feet.

Rainbow smiled and replied. "Told ya"!

Before long, the blue pegasus and purple dragon were yawning hinting that it was now time for bed.

"Goodnight Spike" Rainbow said, as she headed for the cloud that she found earlier.

"Night Dash" Spike replied as he headed into the tent.

Spike settled into his bed that he had made for himself, he knew Rainbow would probably get cold outside so he made a bed for her anyway just in case. As Spike looked up at the ceiling of the tent he thought to himself.

"I'm very lucky to go on this Mission with Rainbow. I really like hanging out with her. She's great company and I'm lucky to have her as a friend".

Meanwhile Rainbow was making her way up to her cloud. She made herself a small makeshift bed and then lay flat looking up at the stars. She also began to think to herself as well.

"I'm very happy to go on another mission. It's been far too long but I'm very happy to go on it with Spike. He's a good friend and I'm lucky to go on this mission with him".

It had been only four hours but Rainbow Dash was shivering badly. The cold was getting to her and she knew that if she didn't get somewhere warmer she'd get sick.

"Brrrrrrr", Rainbow stuttered with her teeth chattering.

"S-Spike was right, it really does get c-cold out here this time of n-night, m-maybe the fire he lit is still g-going."

Rainbow got up from her cloud and flew down towards the camp, expecting the fire that Spike started to still be going strong. But to her disappointment the fire was completely out, just the embers from inside the little fire pit was all that was left.

Rainbow tried to wrap herself around the fire pit, hoping to get some kind of heat from it but no luck. The blue pegasus was now freezing to death, She now knew what she had to do, she had to go inside the tent and admit defeat.

Rainbow quickly doused the embers with water, just to not start a potential brush fire. As she finished, she began to unzip the tents zipper with her hoof and then her wing. But as she was opening the tent, she heard some strange noises coming from inside.

"That's strange" she thought.

She then peeked inside and noticed that there was a small lantern beside Spikes bed, and then she saw something that surprised her. From what she could see, Spike was moving his hand up and down his mid section and quietly moaning. A rush of emotion shot through Rainbow Dash.

"He's playing with himself" she chuckled to herself.

But to her amazement Spike was very endowed. She didn't think Spikes member would be that big, especially for his age. Rainbow soon forgot that she was cold and then began to feel horny.

The bed was very comfortable to lay on, much to her surprise if felt like sleeping on a cloud. Before she drifted off to sleep she knew that what she saw was no dream, and that she would have to force herself not to say anything the next morning.......

I know there is probably alot of words that may have been repeated, but this fic is something that i have put together while being awake for more than 24 hours. When i was introduced to the show back in May, I seriously developed a huge liking for Rainbow Dash and i really like the RD and Spike ship as it's something you don't see very much of. I hope you like this first chapter, and i promise to get to more juicy details in the next few chapters......
