It had been roughly a month since Amalgam had been born, and he had been talked about in the news a lot. A lot of ponies had asked about when Spectrum Shine was going to defuse back into all of her normal forms, like Magic Flame had. And during that month, Spectrum Shine had discovered something fascinating. Amalgam was able to defuse. Spectrum Shine had been reading one of the news articles about Amalgam, and someone had asked if Amalgam was able to. So, Motherly Perfection decided to find out. She had felt guilty, but when Amalgam had actually split into (suprisingly) 12 different kids, Spectrum Shine had been glad she had done it. Spike, Thorax, Sunburst and Big Mac had all found that fascinating, and they all decided that the best course of action (for now, at least) was to keep them all as Amalgam.

Finally, it was time. Spectrum Shine had been looking forward the day she would defuse for a long time. She didn't know how this would effect Amalgam, but if there were any emergencies that needed Spectrum Shine, then everyone making her up would be called. Spike was in the room with her as she undressed, to catch the clothes and put them in a hidden closet in Rarity's house, and he had a set of clothes for each of the girls that was going to come from the defusion. Spike's eyes, of course, were drawn to Spectrum Shine's large chest and rear, but she let him look. After all, it was going to be gone soon.

"You excited?" Spike asked. Spectrum Shine nodded.

"I've been Spectrum Shine for a year now," she said. "And while it's been great, I can't wait to return to some of my individual lives." Spike nodded.

"I know that feeling," he said. "I do miss being Magic Flame, though." Spectrum Shine snickered.

"Let me guess, because of your foot long?" she asked.

"Hey, I already have a foot long!" Spike said, his masculinity being threatened. Spectrum Shine's eyes widened in mock suprise.

"Oh, really?" she asked. "Then perhaps you can help the Great and Powerful Trixie next week." Spike frowned.

"Wait, isn't that heat week?" he asked. Spectrum Shine nodded. It took Spike a few seconds to fully get the message, but when he did, his eyes widened.

"Oh," he said. His mouth curled into a grin. "Ok." Spectrum Shine smiled and nodded.

"Well, then, in that case," she said, her horn charging the defusion spell. "I will see you in a little while." And she released the spell, bringing the 11 ponies that had formed Spectrum Shine for almost a year, apart. Finally. As the ponies all collapsed into a pile, Spike found Twilight at the top, and dragged her off of Fluttershy and Rarity. For several minutes, he dragged and dropped the girls off near their clothes, and when the Twilight started to move and wake up, Spike quickly exited the room, not wanting to anger any of them, just in case. The rest of the day went on pretty smoothly, with Spike helping Twilight schedule when one pony would take Amalgam, and for how long (a full day at the most). Trixie came up and thanked Spike for all the help, and for promising to help her with heat week. She promised him that she would please him greatly.

As the day progressed, a problem arose. As it turned out, Fluttershy was the only one who was lactating, and that was a problem. So Fluttershy promised to fill up several dozen bottles with her milk. They all agreed that it was better than formula. As Celestia lowered the sun and Luna raised the moon, everypony started going to their homes, with Fluttershy taking Amalgam home with her. As Spike climbed into his bed, Twilight appeared next to him in a flash of light, completely naked. Blood started rushing to his face, among other places, as he turned away from Twilight.

"Hey, I just came for cuddles," she said with a pout.

"Without clothes on?" Spike asked. "What did you want to cuddle?"

"Hey, this is the first time that I've been alone with you," Twilight said. "Last time we cuddled, I was a part of Spectrum Shine." Spike grumbled a little, but finally turned over again and opened up his bedsheets.

"Fine, come lie down," he said.

"Yay!" Twilight said with a giggle. The rest of the night was soft and warm. But the rest of their life had just begun.
