The War For Equestria

Mirage and Vinyl lie in bed napping, both sharing Vinyl's headphones, Vinyl thought of how the war would end and how she could help her relationship stay alive, Mirage dreamed of the war, and the events of it.

"Celestia Please... Don't" He said in his sleep

In his dream a large shadow covered the battlefield, Celestia had what looked like Vinyl in a magic bubble, stopping all air from coming to her lungs, she screamed, cried and pounded on the bubble, never doing any kind of damage. She wobbled back and forth, she was suffocating, and Mirage couldn't do anything about it, he lay helplessly restrained to the ground with no chance of breaking them, he begged for her life

"Take Me instead..." He said in his sleep again

In the dream he heard screaming and crying, but it wasn't coming from Vinyl, or himself. He watched as Vinyl fell to the bottom of the bubble and slowly stopped breathing, Celestia dropped her to the ground and released the restraints, he was only a few hoof steps away before he was snapped out of the dream.

The foal was crying, the screams had found a way into his dream.

"It's okay sweetie, shh, shh, shh..." He said to the crying foal,

"Mirage?" Vinyl asked in a sleepy voice,

"It's okay Vinyl, try to go back to sleep" He said,

Vinyl nodded in response and burrowed back down into her pillow.

Mirage got up out of bed and went to the kitchen, making the foal a bottle, he was looking out the window, the sun was starting to go down, they had slept for too long.

Mirage didn't notice that Twilight had walked in; she watched him for a moment then went to the window with him.

"Remember when you first came to Ponyville?" she asked,

"Yeah, I met all of you girls in the hospital" He said, "Then I met Vinyl"

"How did it all turn out like this?" she asked,

"Well, everything was Sunshine and Rainbows, then... I just don't know what went wrong"

The two stared out the window for a long time, Mirage was feeding the foal, who had gone back to sleep, he watched her little tail swish back and forth, the light blue and bright red looked really good together.

"Mirage" Twilight said in a panicked voice,

"Yeah?" He asked, looking up to the window, his pupils shrank and his blood went cold, The Leaders of Solar Empire were marching over a hill in the distance.

"Wake Vinyl up, get everypony ready" Mirage said,

Twilight ran off, Mirage just stood there, watching the Ponies march towards the castle

Mirage took off; he had to find a safe place for the foal,

"Fluttershy" he said under his breath,

He ran to her room and found her hiding under her covers,

"Fluttershy! I need your help" He said,

She poked her head from the covers "With what?"

"Rain Whisper" He said, showing her the foal,

She nodded and took her,

"Just go to the Top of the castle and we'll come get you when this is all over"

"Okay..." she said,

"Thank you!" Mirage shouted as he ran out of the room

The ten soldiers they had gathered in the top of the castle and went over their plans

"I'll go over their names," Luna said, "Celestia, Shining Armor, Trixie, Blackblood, Big Macintosh, Gilda, Soarin, Octavia and Two of their greatest assassins"

"Soarin escaped?" Mirage asked,

"Barely" Rainbow Dash said, "If he didn't have that hoof gun he'd be 6 hooves under"

The team thought about their new rivals,

"and now for our team," Luna said, "Luna, Rarity, Twilight, Mirage, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Vinyl, Night Flash and Aero

"You can pick who you’re going for, but otherwise... Good Luck My Little Ponies" Luna said

"The Life you knew before is gone. Today, we fight to bring it back" Mirage said, remembering what the Princess said

The ten soldiers of the Lunar Republic stood outside of the castle, waiting.

The first over the hill was Shining Armor, followed by Blackblood, Gilda, Trixie, an assassin, Octavia, Soarin, Big Mac, another assassin and finally, Princess Celestia.

All of the ponies met face to face, Mirage on Blackblood, Rarity on Shining Armor, Twilight on Trixie, Pinkie Pie on Gilda, Rainbow Dash on Soarin, Night Flash and Aero on The Assassins, Applejack on Big Macintosh, Vinyl on Octavia and Luna on Celestia.

"I didn't want it to come to this" Luna said,

Celestia leaned in to her little sisters ear and said,

"I did"

Luna pushed her away, "If this is what you want, then so be it!" Luna said,

"Hello Mirage" Blackblood chuckled,

"Hello Blackblood" Mirage returned,

"How do you like the fangs?" Blackblood asked, grinning and showing off his own,

"Let me show you..." Mirage said, grabbing the pony by the head

The two ponies locked together, not making any noise, Blackblood was younger, but his experience as a vampony made him just as strong as Mirage.

"Vinyl... Why?" Octavia asked, looking at her old roommate and friend,

"Octavia, you’re on the wrong side" Vinyl whispered, she had no intention of hurting her best friend, but had every intention of hurting her enemy,

"No you are" Octavia argued,

"Have you not seen any changes in the Princess?" Vinyl asked,

"Well... Yes but-"

"Has she gotten more aggressive? Has she been hard headed?" Vinyl asked, cutting Octavia off

"Yes, but that doesn't mean-"

"Is this the Princess who invited you to play at the Grand Galloping Galla?" Vinyl asked, cutting her off again,

"No..." Octavia said, coming to realization, "I AM on the wrong side" she said, joining her friend

"Good job, now if we can get everypony else to-"

"Octavia what do you think you're doing?" Celestia asked, cutting Vinyl off,

"You are not the Celestia I once knew" Octavia said, "I am not your lapdog"

"Then you are my enemy" Celestia said, aggressively

"Celestia help!" Blackblood yelped, Mirage had overpowered him and they started to fight.

"ATTACK!!!" Celestia roared, signaling the war

The Ponies clashed together, some were already down, Applejack had turned around and bucked Big Macintosh in the chest, sending him flying backwards, the two hadn't even tried to reason with each other, just started fighting.

Blackblood had bit Mirage twice in the arm, sending the Venom like liquid into Mirage's bloodstream, Mirage hadn't noticed, the venom had almost no effect on him because he was already a Vampony, just a little numbness.

Vinyl and Octavia had started to help Rarity with Shining Armor; the unicorn could barely hurt him alone.

Pinkie Pie had Gilda by her wings, snapping the bones like toothpicks, disabling any means of flying, While Gilda screamed in pain Pinkie Pie only laughed and giggled, she thought it was some kind of game.

Rainbow Dash had been pinned down by Soarin, she protected her wings but he was interested in her chest, striking her ribs over and over again, finally her chest made a loud cracking noise, indicating one of the ribs had been broken.

Luna and Celestia tried all they could to damage each other but were always blocked by one another.

Mirage tackled Soarin off of Rainbow Dash, striking his face with his hooves, finally picking him up and throwing him.

"Applejack!" Mirage called

Applejack Bucked her back hooves and hit Soarin in the chest without looking.

Mirage held a hoof out for Rainbow, helping her up, She held her ribcage as she stood up and walked over to Soarin, he wasn't getting away this time.

She struck his chest over and over, never stopping when she heard his ribs cracking or when he screamed, she eventually got bored and took his head in her hooves,

"Say hello to Spitfire for me" she said, snapping his neck

Applejack was pinned by Big Mac, he struck her head with his own, he broke her nose, her jaw, he eventually started hitting her in the side of her head, trying to smash her skull.

Mirage tried to help but was bucked away by Blackblood, he saw Applejack's Cowpony hat fall to the ground,

She was gone.

Mirage slashed at Blackblood with his knife, drawing blood from the side of his head and his front right leg,

Blackblood fell down and yelped when the knife entered the side of his neck, the same place where he bit Mirage.

Blackblood choked on his own blood, coughing and spitting it out, he tried to get up but was pushed back down by Mirage, he gurgled the blood in his mouth, drowning in his own blood.

Thunder storm clouds built above, casting a large shadow over the battlefield.

Lightning flashed and it started pouring down rain.

Big Macintosh charged Mirage, putting his head down and Guiding Mirage into the side of the castle,

Mirage fell down into the dirt; Big Mac towered over him,

"You gonna kill me or what?" Mirage asked, spitting his own blood onto Big Mac's hooves

"Eyup" Big Mac said, raising his hooves,

Out of nowhere Applejack tackled Big Mac, sending him into the side of the castle,

She held her hoof out to Mirage and helped him up,

"Get inside, have Fluttershy check out your head" Mirage said, pushing her towards the door, "I'll take care of him"

Applejack darted inside leaving her big brother and Mirage,

"Sorry about this" Mirage said as he shocked Big Mac, ending his life.

Night Flash and Aero were having no trouble with the Assassins, one was already dead on the ground, he was outnumbered 4 to 1, Night Flash had split into three, letting all of them take turns hitting the helpless Assassin, Aero burned him with his hooves every time he touched him, lighting his mane on fire,

Vinyl, Octavia and Rarity stood above Shining Armor

"Is there any dirt in my mane?" Rarity asked,

"What about mine?" Octavia asked,

Vinyl just rolled her eyes, "Yes your mane's look like bird nests"

The Two ponies shrieked and ran towards the castle,

Twilight was having trouble with Trixie, they were shooting Magical daggers at each other, making large cuts in each other’s bodies, the both stopped to catch their breath.

"Trixie... Stop" Twilight said, between breathing

"The Great and Powerful Trixie will not fall for your-"

Vinyl had come up behind Trixie and picked her up, throwing her to the ground and pinning her down.

"These aren't tricks" Twilight said, making a magical knife and holding it to Trixie's neck

"Please, Trixie won’t hurt you anymore" Trixie begged,

"Trixie, how can I trust you?" Twilight asked, putting her face close to Trixie's

"Please, I- I-" Trixie stammered,

"You what?" Twilight yelled, putting more pressure on the knife

"I Lo..." Trixie whispered,

"Speak up" Twilight said,

Trixie didn't speak, just put her lips onto Twilight's

Vinyl was a shocked by Trixie, She loved Twilight? But, why?

"Since you showed me what you could do with the Ursa Minor, I always admired you, I just didn't know how to tell you" Trixie said,

Twilight blushed and loosened her grip on Trixie, taking the knife away from her neck

"You lie, you die" Twilight said, kissing her back

"I promise I'm not lying" Trixie said, tears streaming from her eyes,

Vinyl let go of Trixie and let the two go back inside, Pinkie Pie bounced past her following the two,

"Pinkie? Where’s Gilda?" Vinyl asked, holding her back

"Oh! I shoved a cupcake down her throat; she liked it so much she started coughing and fainted!" Pinkie said, smiling and giggling "Well see ya!"

Vinyl stood in shock, Pinkie killed somepony with a cupcake... Damn

Vinyl looked around; Rainbow Dash was heading inside, along with Aero and Night Flash,

Mirage stood alone, watching Luna and Celestia

Vinyl walked to his side,

"Should we help her?" Vinyl asked,

"I tried, she told me to back off" Mirage said, "She told us to go inside when we finished who we were fighting, did anypony get killed?"

"No... Just a few cuts and broken bones" She said,

"Let's go, this could last all night" Mirage said,

The two started walking; they were almost at the castle when Mirage was stopped,

"You're not going anywhere!" Celestia called, wrapping Mirage in a magic bubble,

"Mirage!" Vinyl called, trying to reach out to him as he floated away,

"Vinyl!" Mirage yelled, his voice distorted by the bubble

Celestia floated Mirage in front of her, showing Luna

"You let me leave or he dies" Celestia said, backing away,

"Wait no!" Mirage said through the bubble, it was just like his dream

"Fine. Leave you coward" Luna said,

Celestia smiled and flew off, never releasing the bubble

"Celestia! Release him!" Luna called,

"Sorry sis" Celestia said as she flew towards Canterlot,

"No!" Vinyl yelled, running towards the bubble which concealed Mirage,

The air inside of the bubble disappeared, Mirage couldn't breath

"Celestia Please... Don't" Vinyl said,

Mirage realized what was happening, it had never been Vinyl in the bubble in the first place, it was him. He just watched from Vinyl's Perspective

"Please... Take me instead" She begged

Vinyl watched in horror as Mirage screamed and pounded on the bubble, never doing any damage to it, He was suffocating, he wobbled back and forth, no air was reaching his brain, she watched as he fell to the bottom of the bubble, and slowly stopped breathing.

The bubble finally disappeared, dropping his body to the ground.

His eyes were closed, he had no pulse, nothing worked, Not Twilight or Luna's spells, Not Fluttershy’s doctor skills, nothing.

He was Gone. Forever.

Vinyl wailed over him for hours, she wouldn't let anypony touch him, she beat on his lifeless body, begging him to wake up, eventually, she spoke.

"What do we do?" She asked,

"We bury him" Luna said, wiping her own tears away, "Not here, He Wouldn't want to stay here"

"Then where?" Vinyl asked,

"We could go to Zephyr" Trixie said, "It's not in Equestria, It's where I came from"

"Okay" Vinyl said, never taking her eyes off of him.

The last of the Lunar Republic took a boat to Zephyr, leaving Equestria forever, nothing was left for them there just painful memories.

They got to Zephyr early one morning, two days after they left Equestria, they headed to the capital, New Zephyr, and buried Mirage there, it was time to start over, to start new lives, everypony stayed close, The cutie mark crusaders were reunited after Scootaloo had taken her "Cutie Mark" off of her flank, it had turned out to be fake.

Twilight and Trixie got a small cottage next to Vinyl and Rain Whispers house, which was next to Applejack's, everyone stayed as close together as they could, trying to remember the good memories.
