The War For Equestria

Sometimes, we think we are the Heroes when we truly are the Villains.-BlackMirage

Mirage woke up with a black bag over his head, all four of his hooves were restrained and he had a terrible migraine.

"Is he awake?" A Voice asked from in front of him,

"He should be" Mirage recognized Aero's voice, he started panicking

"Where's Vinyl?" Mirage asked in a raspy voice,

"I'm right here" Vinyl said from his left,

"And the others?" He asked,

"We're all here" Twilight said, also from his left

Mirage could feel his muscles tense, and a sudden craving emerged,

"Uh, Princess" Vinyl said,

"Yes Vinyl?" Mirage knew now it was Luna,

"You might want to take the restraints off, Fast." Vinyl said,

A restraint snapped, but no pony heard it.

"Guards, Help Mirage out of his restraints"

Another snapped, Applejack saw it,

"Princess, y'all better get a move on" Applejack said,

"Why whatever for? No pony has ever escaped from-"

Princess Luna was cut off by two loud snaps, the final restraints were snapped off and Mirage got to his feet, taking the bag off of his head, he revealed two blood red eyes.

"Is he a-"

Luna was cut off again by Mirage pouncing onto one of her guards, biting and pounding at the steel armor.

"Mirage No!" Vinyl screeched, digging into her backpack,

"There is no need for that, Miss Scratch" Luna said, pulling out a needle and levitating Mirage over to her with the power of her horn.

"Let me go!" Mirage roared,

Luna stabbed him with the needle, injecting a blue liquid into his stomach.

"What are you doing?" Vinyl asked, seeing Mirage's thrashing calm down,

"Calming him down" Luna said smoothly,

"Luna could you let me down?" Mirage asked, looking over to the princess

"Yeah sorry" She said, putting him down easily,

"I feel a little funny" Mirage said woozily,

"It's just the medicine" Luna said, chuckling a little from seeing him try to walk, he started laughing hysterically when he fell right on his face.

"Luna... Why is there three of you?" he said rocking back and forth,

"Just close your eyes Mirage" Luna said sweetly,

Mirage closed his eyes and fell over, passing out.

Night Flash snickered a bit at the Pegasus, remembering the night Mirage was drunk with Vinyl... when things were normal.

Luna levitated Mirage into a bedroom, and laid him down in bed.

"I have designated rooms for you all, Vinyl you will be with the foal in that room... and if I may ask, how did you acquire this foal?" Luna asked,

"She's mine and Mirage's" Vinyl said proudly,

"What? You had a foal with Mirage?" Luna asked, not knowing about their relationship

"Yes ma'am" she said, smiling

"Very well then, you will be with Mirage" Luna said, "As for you six"

Luna spread out the rooms accordingly, and held Twilight, Rarity and Applejack back

"I have a surprise for you three" Luna said, "Come out girls!"

Sweetie Belle and Applebloom ran out of a room, hopping towards their big sisters with big smiles.

Twilight was confused, she didn't have any siblings other than shining armor, and he was still at Canterlot

Spike walked out with an angry look on his face,

"I'm not a girl..." He mumbled,

His face suddenly lit up, "Twilight!" He shrieked, running towards her

"Spike!" She said, embracing him

"I have only one rule" Luna said, "Do Not Leave the castle at night, No matter what."

The Seven mares, the two fillies and the baby dragon all nodded, understanding the conditions.

Vinyl lay awake in bed, tossing and turning, trying to get comfortable. It was very warm inside the castle and she couldn't sleep, she looked towards Mirage and the foal, who were sleeping soundly, side by side.

"Maybe I'll just open a window for a bit" Vinyl said to herself, looking towards the large window,

Vinyl got up out of bed, walked silently to the window and slowly creaked it opened, the moon was full and it was cool outside, the nice breeze hit her and she shivered, the warmth being the only feeling she'd known for at least an hour.

Vinyl pulled a few pillows from the closet and made a pallet for herself near the window, she fell asleep easily and accidently left the window opened.

Two golden eyes stared in through the window, seeing the two ponies and the foal, all sleeping soundly.

He looked to the nearest one and extended his arms, ready to grab it, his hands gripped around the white and blue pony, he watched her awake in his hands and stare into his eyes, then emit a loud scream

Vinyl swung her hooves and hit the huge creature a few times, only making it angrier. Mirage was out of bed and charging towards the beast, he jumped up and was batted down by the huge hands, Vinyl saw claws on the hands, she saw the monster put his face closer to hers, his snout with a wet black nose on the end, his ears perked up, his tongue hanging out of his mouth, the panting... It was a Werewolf.

Vinyl screamed in realization just before the creature sunk its canine teeth into her side, silencing her, he dropped the pony and jumped out of the window, Leaving Mirage and her alone.

Princess Luna and Twilight rushed through the door, stopping to see Mirage standing over Vinyl,

"Stand back fiend!" Luna yelled, using her magic to throw him into the wall, and then close the window.

Mirage struggled to stand back up, but Luna had picked him up again and thrown him into another wall, sending him through it and into Applejack's room

Twilight rushed to Vinyl's side, picking her up and taking her out of the room.

Mirage noticed the foal was crying but he couldn't move, Luna had hit him hard, thinking he was the one who had bitten Vinyl, The world around him spun, he once again tried to get back up but Luna, again was there picking him up and smashing him through the floorboards, making him fall into the floor below him. Mirage couldn't even move and Luna was already there, standing before him.

"Please stop... I didn't bite her" Mirage said,

"Then who did Mirage?" Luna asked with a threatening face,

"A big... BIG dog" Mirage said, breathing slowly

"Yeah right" Luna said, her horn beginning to glow again,

"Really! Check my teeth! They’re not as big as the bite" He said,

Luna lifted up his lip, seeing the fangs; they were good sized but not huge

They both returned to Vinyl, The Six Mares positioned themselves around her, glaring at Mirage

"Stand down My little Ponies, There is no need" Luna said,

"He bit her though!" Twilight barked,

"We cannot just assume he was the suspect" Luna said, looking over at the beaten Mirage

"Great assumption by you, Luna" he said,

"Thanks Smartass" Luna said,

Luna examined the wounds, the teeth marks were large, and went much deeper than Mirage's fangs could go

"It wasn't him" Luna said,

The Six mares all sighed in unison,

"It was something much, much worse" Luna said,

They now gasped,

"What was it Princess Luna?" Twilight asked,

"A Werewolf" she said, without hesitating

"A WHAT?" Mirage asked,

"Fluttershy can you help her?" Rarity asked,

"Um... sure... if you want me to" Fluttershy said,

"Yes help her please!" Mirage said,

No pony slept, except Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, Rain Whisper and Spike.

Around 4 a.m. Fluttershy had finished, the bite mark was stitched and bandaged.

The moon had reached the side of the window which served as the only light in the room, Mirage was the only pony left in the room other than Vinyl, who laid basking in the moonlight.

"I'm sorry Vinyl, I couldn't stop it" Mirage said, a tear rolled down his cheek and dropped to the floor, he closed his eyes and waited.

He heard rustling in the bed and opened his eyes quickly, looking up towards her he was met by a pair of golden eyes, like the Werewolf eyes, only on Vinyl's face.

"Luna" he whispered, trying to call out to her as Vinyl sat up in bed, snarling

"Luna" he said in his normal tone of voice, seeing Vinyl get up and start to twitch,

"LUNA!!!" He yelled, seeing her coat turn brown, her snout extend, a black nose appear, hands grow along with feet with long, dagger like claws, she looked like a wolf, A Werewolf.

Luna barged in and stopped, looking at the horrific creature that was once Vinyl Scratch.

Vinyl let loose a heart stopping howl, hundreds of golden eyes Illuminated from outside of the window, Mirage's blood went cold

They were surrounded.

Mirage pulled the bottle of garlic from Vinyl’s backpack and splashed her with it, Vinyl simply raised an eyebrow and smiled

"Uh Oh" he said,

Vinyl roared into his face, blowing his mane back

Luna pulled out another needle, and charged towards Vinyl,

Vinyl put her arms up in defense, but was jabbed in the stomach, which made her roar in pain,

Luna jabbed a different kind of needle into her, instead of blue liquid it had green, which only made her roar louder, she wobbled around for a bit then fell down, returning to her normal look

"Vinyl!" Mirage yelped in relief,

"Wha-?" Vinyl asked, before being locked into a tight hug from Mirage

"What happened?" She asked, trying to wiggle from his grip out of confusion,

"You turned into a Werewolf" Luna said,

"What?" Vinyl asked, she was now even more confused

Luna and Mirage explained what happened, and Luna explained to the both of them that the new needle she used partially cured being a werewolf, partially meaning that she could no longer take the form of a Werewolf, but had some of the traits on a full moon, like the speed, agility and strength the Werewolves have

"Do you have anything like that for Vamponies?" Mirage asked, hopefully

"Unfortunately I don't, Vamponies don't take any special form other than eye color" Luna said,

"Damn" Mirage said, hitting his hoof to the floor

"They surround the castle" Luna said, pointing to the glowing eyes only inches from the window, "We must wake the others"

The three went to all of the other ponies and woke them up, they boarded up all of the windows and waited at the top of the castle watching the clock slowly tick by...

Glass shattered, followed by pounding and the splintering of wood, they were breaking in.

Another window shattered, followed by a second and a third, and a fourth.

"What do we do?" Fluttershy asked, hiding under a table

"We fight" Rainbow Dash said aggressively,

The clock started to chime, it was 6 a.m. and the sun was nearly up, just a few more minutes.

There was a sudden bang at the door, then scratching, along with a long howl.

"They're calling the others up here" Vinyl said, her eyes still golden, "Let me try something"

Vinyl let out a few short howls,

"What did you say?" Mirage asked,

"That the ponies escaped" She said,

More howls from outside,

"What did they say?" Applejack asked,

"They said- they said they know I'm lying" Vinyl said, her voice sounding shaky,

"Great" Applejack replied sarcastically,

The bangs continued, along with the door handle shaking a few times,

It was around 6:30 a.m. when the scratching stopped and Vinyl started to moan,

"What's wrong Vinyl?" Mirage asked, holding her up,

Her eyes returned to the normal magenta and she smiled,

"They're Gone" She said,

The others all sighed in relief.

Luna checked the castle, finding nothing but broken windows, she returned to the ponies

"Vinyl, come with me" she said,

Vinyl didn't argue, just followed,

The two ended up outside in the warm sun,

"How am I going to handle this?" Vinyl asked, staring out into the green hills

"Just like Mirage did" Luna said, also staring, but not at the hills, she was staring at Canterlot, "You really should ask him"

"It's not the same!" Vinyl shouted, "He doesn't turn into a bloodthirsty Monster!"

Luna looked towards her, and Vinyl met her gaze

"You're right..." Vinyl said, realizing what she said, they were almost the same now, they were both big bloodthirsty monsters.

"Vinyl, you’re going to have to get used to it" Luna said, "Everypony has an Inner demon"

She was right, Mirage had two, his father and the Vampony, She had the Werewolf, Luna had Nightmare Moon and Princess Celestia had the Solar Empire

"This Is Unreal" Vinyl said,

"I know, but, maybe someday, Equestria will be a place of Happiness and Harmony again." Luna said,

"When do you plan to attack Canterlot?" Vinyl asked,

"I don't, if Tia wants the war this bad, she'll come to me" Luna said,

"No pony over there knows who they are really fighting for..." Vinyl said,

A tear escaped from Luna's eye,

"I hate to say it, but Tia is gone, and I don't think she's ever coming back" Luna said,

"Don't worry, It will all be okay" Vinyl said,

"How do you know?!" Luna shouted, tears now streaming from her eyes,

Vinyl didn't know, she had no way of knowing what would come of this,

"I- I don't" Vinyl said, backing away a bit,

"Well that’s just fantastic isn’t it?" Luna said, Flying off,

Vinyl stood there alone, she swallowed hard, what would come of this war?

"Vinyl?" Mirage's voice came from behind her,

"What?" she asked, coldly

"I wanted to check on you two" He said, walking to her side, "Where's Luna?"

"She took off" she said, not turning towards him,

"What's wrong?" he asked,

"What do you think is wrong Mirage?"

"Hey I was just trying to help-"

"That's all you can do Mirage, You can’t even protect your own family!" she yelled, backing him up, "You always TRY but you never can DO anything, you don’t have to go through anything I do, you're fucking useless!"

The words hit Mirage like a ton of bricks, he tried to tell himself that it was just the Werewolf talking, but couldn't.

"You think I don’t go through the shit that you do?!" He screamed in his own defense, "See these fucking fangs? Where did those come from huh?! See these fucking bruises? See these stitches? Remember those broken bones? I earned all of this shit protecting you and Rain! So don't you DARE accuse me of not protecting you!"

Vinyl was taken aback from his outburst, he had only screamed at her once, and it was in good fun, a tear streamed down her cheek.

"Motherfucker!" Mirage yelled at no pony as he put his hoof through a stone wall

"I'm sorry..." He said, "I know this is a lot at once for you."

"No... I'm sorry" she said,

She was going to say something else but was cut off by his lips against her own,

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry" she sobbed, while kissing him back,

They cried together and for the first time in a while, they both felt loved.
