*Clang! Smash*

“I cannot believe this!” An unknown entity exclaimed throughout a heavily wired shell. The voice startled several large cockroaches out of their hiding spots, only for them to get incinerated and swept up. “I am pulled from my home, turned into an A.I., and I discover that the process of going from organic to such has left me dormant for a few millennia. And to top it off-bzzzt-damn roaches messing up my internal processes-bzzzt-ship shields and external defences compromised. Shell assault detected. Shell breach imminent. Preparing internal defences-bzzt-okay. There we go. Now to deal with the intruders.”

(Meanwhile, just outside the buried ship)

“Thorax! Stop goofing with that metal plate and get finish that tunnel!” A Changeling shouted at his comrade.

“Pharynx, with all due respect, I'm almost done! And the metal plate you mentioned, I'm not goofing with it, I'm trying to get through it!” The Changeling, Thorax, shouted back as he tried clawing past what was referenced.

“Then dig around the damn-”

“I got it!” Thorax pulled his hand from the hole he made and gave a smug grin to his comrade. When he turned around to enlarge the hole, a large metallic tentacle burst through and grabbed him and pulled him back through. “GAH!!! Pharynx! Help!”

“What did I $@#&ing say!? I said, ‘Dig around it,’ but Noooo. You insisted on-” A second metallic tentacle suddenly grabbed Pharynx, causing him to go “ACK!!!” He was then pulled in after and held next to Thorax.

“You are unusual looking cockroaches,” a robotic voice said.

Pharynx stopped any struggling he was doing for his mind to catch up with what was said. “What did you call us?” He said, clearly ticked.

“Evidently, highly evolved cockroaches.”

“Okay! Now you crossed the line!” With a flash of green flame, Pharynx changed from a normal looking Changeling into a hulking insectoid. “Noling and nopony calls me and my brother cockroaches and gets away with it!” Pharynx then tore the tentacles off of himself and looked around in anger. “Show your &#@$ing face so I can smash it to bits!”

“I technically have no face for you to smash, but violence can come later, as far as your brother is concerned.” Pharynx looked back to Thorax, only to see his brother being choked by another tentacle. He ran to help him, but nearly a dozen tentacles stopped and held him back.

“Let my brother go, you son of a $#@%&!”

“Cease your violence and struggling, and I will.” At this point, Thorax’s face started becoming pale from lack of oxygen.

“Alright! I’ll stop fighting! Just let him breathe!” Pharynx cried out while shifting back to his normal form. As soon as he changed, both him and Thorax were released, allowing the latter to breath and the former to rush to the aid of the latter. “Why did you do that? We didn’t do anything to you.”

“You damaged my ship, or me if you wish to get technical. Also, you became violent when I accidentally thought and referred to you and your brother as cockroaches. So, I had to do what I could to try to calm you down, as unconventional as it was.”

“Well, now that you’ve gotten your retribution, can me and my brother leave?” Pharynx asked, holding his brother in his arms.

“Actually, before you are to leave, I need to know as to what the current news is above ground, as well as a blood sample from one or both of you.”

“Alright, fine,” Pharynx said with annoyance as he carefully put his unconscious brother on the ground. “How’re we gonna do this?” In response to his question, an examination table assembled itself in front of him, with two tentacles acting as the ‘nurse.’ “Okay...umm…”

“I'm honestly about as creeped out as much as you are,” the voice said. “You are technically in my head, I'm waving tentacles around like a squid or an octopus, and to top it off, I’m oddly calm about it all. So, I'm currently building a body to ease some of those problems. Other problems, I will deal with in due time.”

“Fair enough.” Pharynx sat on the table and presented an arm. “And just so you know, I’m no good with history, so…”

“No need to worry. I can get the history elsewhere. For now, current events will suffice,” the voice said as a tentacle grasped his arm’s joint to draw some blood.

“Okay-ah-well, life is going on. Things go as smoothly as they usually do, trees are growing, the hive my brother and I are from are probably launching the scheduled invasion, and-” The tentacle that was on his arm wrapped around his arm suddenly. “Uhh…”

“Where is your hive invading and what is the reasoning?”

“Hey, calm down buddy,” Pharynx said. “Why do you want to know?”

“For one, I wonder why you are here and not there. It would also provide some much needed knowledge of some of the geography.”

“To answer your two questions, plus the implied one, our hive is attacking Canterlot, the Capital of Equestria. It is attached to the mountain that you are in. The reason behind the attack is that we have a shortage of love, which is-”

“Your species’ food,” the voice finished for Pharynx, which confused him. “I scanned the DNA from your blood, and found an unknown energy as the ‘fuel’ for your bodies, which you stated was love, an unmeasurable emotion.”

“Okay, I didn’t understand that very much, but yeah. And the reason behind Thorax and I aren’t with the invasion force is that coward of a brother of mine decided to chicken out and protest against an invasion. When he was about to get beaten for simply saying that bull#$@&, as the good brother I am, I defended him.” Pharynx sighed and continued. “As a result, we get put in the job of hive scouting.”

There was silence between the two for a few awkward minutes, before a voice spoke from behind Pharynx. “As admirable your dedication to your hive is, it is because of such that I cannot let you leave.”

“Wait, What!?” Pharynx was able spout out before a series of tentacles suddenly attacked and wrapped him up in a metal cocoon.

“One less soldier to fight,” said a tall and imposing figure, before walking out of the shadows. The figure was a complex humanoid machine with a head almost lifelike, but wasn’t true flesh, merely a very complex, chemically-made, green rubber. “And I am ready to aid the land I’m now a part of."

(Up on the surface, Canterlot Castle)

Chrysalis smiled, showing off her sharp fangs to the pink alicorn. The princess scowled, struggling against the green goo that kept her immobilized. The changeling queen chuckled, “It’s no use struggling,” She said, catching the alicorn’s attention, “No living creature has ever escaped from that.”

The pink pony growled, “You won’t get away with this!” She began, trying her best to pull herself free, “Twilight and her friends will-!” She was interrupted when the large door at the end of the hallway flung open, revealing the group of changelings bringing in six ponies.

Seeing the purple mare with the changelings caused the queen to smile. She looked back at the princess, “You were saying?” She asked in a smug tone. Using her bug like wings, she flew down to meet the six captured ponies, “You do realize the receptions been cancelled don’t you?” Chrysalis laughed, turning back towards her changelings, “GO!” She ordered, pointing at the door, “Feed!” The black insects smiled, flying out of the throne room. Looking back at the six mares, she couldn’t help but gloat, “It’s funny really,” Chrysalis said, pinching the purple unicorn’s cheek and shaking her hand. The purple mare glared and slapped her hand away, “Twilight here was suspicious of my behavior all along!” She briefly looked at the ponies behind Twilight, smirking, “Too bad the rest of you were too caught up in your wedding planning to see that those suspicions were correct!” The queen’s wings buzzed as she flew back, laughing at the mares.

Far off in the distance, a muffled explosion was heard. The Queen paid no attention to that as she continued to gloat.

One of the mares, an orange earth pony wearing a stetson hat walked towards Twilight, putting a hand on her shoulder. “Sorry Twi, we should’ve listen to you.”

The purple unicorn shook her head, “It’s not your fault, she fooled everyone.”

Upon hearing that, the queen smirked, “I did, didn’t I?” She chuckled going towards the balcony to watch her minions cause havoc to the streets of Canterlot. Looking at the destruction below her, she couldn’t help but smile, “This day has been just perfect-!” Suddenly a loud explosion was heard, followed by what sounded like something large falling down, causing the ground to shake. The queen stumbled, grabbing onto the railings and holding on tight, when the shaking stopped she scowled, “You idiots! Be careful! You could’ve killed me!” She yelled at her minions, causing a few of them to stop and look around unsure of what to do.

“It was not your hive that made the explosion,” a semi-robotic, male voice said from behind the gathering of ponies. Chrysalis turned around and saw a strange metal being with green looking skin and six metal tentacles sticking out of his back.

The queen took a small step back, scowling at the creature, “And just what are you supposed to be? Were you the one who made that explosion?!” She questioned, waving her hand at some of the changelings to come to her aid.

“I was the explosion. While we are on the topic of wrongs committed, I should point out several of yours. Attacking a nation’s capital without provocation-”

Chrysalis frowns, keeping her eyes locked onto the mysterious being, not knowing what the creature was capable of, she interrupted his accusation, “I only attacked so that my subjects will be able to eat, incase you don’t know, we changelings feed on love, and the Badlands isn’t exactly full of it.”

“As if you didn’t have other options,” the creature responded. “The pen is mightier than the sword, you know. Diplomacy would have worked.”

“The ponies here aren’t exactly welcoming of anything that isn’t another pony.” Chrysalis said, “They would rather have us starve, they view many other species as monsters, what hope did we have that they’ll listen to us?”

“A small chance is still a chance, but I’m now sure that my words have fallen on deaf ears.” The creature’s tentacles tensed in readiness. “If you wish to finish your unneeded conquest, you must defeat me.”

Her eyes narrowed, as her horn started to glow. Scowling, she waved away the changelings behind her, “If you insist in getting in my way, then I’ll just have to crush you.”

“A creature like you should worry about the boot crushing rather than crushing the boot.”

Begin

The creature propelled itself forward with it’s tentacles and lashing with a seemingly mild kick, knocking the Queen back. She responded by jumping over the creature, lashing out a magical punch in the process, knocking it off balance, allowing her to pull out a string of kicks, punches, and magical blasts. She then uppercutted him, causing him to fly into the air briefly.

Suddenly the creature seemed to recover mid flight, allowing him to start of series of jabs with both his fists and tentacles. His tentacles moved so harmoniously with his attacks, it seemed as though that his punches were indistinguishable from stabs coming from the tentacles. He then grabbed her with the tentacles and slammed her on the ground behind him.

Chrysalis recovered quickly, grabbed the nearby wedding altar, and threw it at the creature. The projectile knocked him back into a pillar. Chrysalis stood tall thinking that it was defeated, but his fist suddenly hit the pillar he was leaning up against, causing a small portion of the ceiling to fall on top of her.

Then the creature gave a small shout, his body seeming to be cloaked in a purple energy, before lashing a tentacle out and grabbed the Queen. She was then pulled towards it and was kicked away. When she hit the ground, four semi-organic looking creatures surrounded her and pointed their own hands at her as she stood up. They then shot four harpoons at her shoulders, causing her to scream out in pain and be held still. The hole in the ceiling seemed to glow with blue energy as a skull shape appeared in the sky. A giant blue beam suddenly shot through the hole onto the immobilized Chrysalis, causing a small, yet devastating explosion.

In the aftermath, the Queen was on the ground, seemingly weakened from the blast. The creature looked down on her in what looked like disgust. “I’m not sure how long you ruled, but you’re lucky to have done so when you could.”

Chrysalis growled, looking up at the creature, her eyes burning with hatred. Her horn glowed brightly, firing a powerful blast at the creature, knocking him down to the floor. When he landed, he began to spark and spaz erratically. “Main System compromised by E-e-electro-magnetic pulse. System on reboot. Initializing pain recognition protocols...OW!!! MY BACK AND BRAIN HURTS!!!”

Chrysalis stood up, glaring hatefully at the creature below her. Walking up to him, she growled and raised her hoof, stomping at the creature multiple times. “How dare you.” She growled, this time kicking the creature’s head. “I am Queen Chrysalis, the ruler of the Changelings! And now-” Chrysalis stomped on the creature once again, making sure to power up her stomp with magic. “I’m going to be the ruler of Equestria! And nothing!” Another stomp, this time creating a large dent, “Not even some circus freak like you can do anything about it!”

“Well how about this?!” A voice yelled, catching the queen’s attention. Turning around she saw a bright pink dome growing rapidly in size. Firing magic at the dome, she watched as the blast did nothing to the energy dome.

The queen backpedaled, “No.” Being hit by the dome, she cried out, “NO!” She was blasted out of the throne room, and even busted through a couple of walls before she was sent flying out of the castle, her changelings soon being caught in the blast and fired off as well. With one last final push, the dome popped, sending all of the changelings flying off into the sky in separate directions. Chrysalis could only scream as she watched her plans fall apart around her, she flailed her limbs around, trying to find some way to stabilize herself. She let out one final scream as she was eventually blasted out of sight.

Back to the downed creature, as it was spazzing, the group of ponies surrounded the creature, not entirely sure what to do. A yellow pony with pink hair kneeled down and put a hand on him, she looked back at the others. “We need to go find some help.” She said, looking back to the spazzing creature.

The blue rainbow haired one crossed her arms, frowning, “Well… but can we even trust it? We’re not really exactly sure why he’s here…” She said a bit unsure.

“Rainbow, we have to help! It’s the least we can do.” The white pony with purple hair said, “He did stall the changeling queen so we could rescue everyone!”

Rainbow scratched the back of her head, “That’s true…”

“Well I believe Rainbow Dash is right to exercise caution.” Celestia said, walking down the steps towards the other ponies, her colorful hair flowing. “But I must also agree with the both of you Fluttershy, Rarity.” The white alicorn looked down at the creature. “We’ll take him to the infirmary, but I’ll have guards to keep an eye on him, just in case.” The others nodded, agreeing with her plan. Celestia turned towards Twilight and gave her a small smile, “I’m sorry about earlier Twilight., I should’ve listened to you” She apologized, causing Twilight to look up to her with wide tearful eyes. “In the meantime why don’t you and your friends get everything ready for the wedding, I’ll take care of our guest.”

The purple unicorn looked back and forth between her teacher and the creature wanting to argue, but she nodded, hesitantly calling her friends over to leave the two alone.
