Chapter 3

Previous Chapter

In a section of Brother Eye’s ship, three figures materialized. “Welcome to my ship,” Brother Eye told his two guests. “Be careful, only I can control the inner workings, so don’t try to get anything to work for you.” The words barely seemed to register in Twilight’s mind as she drooled over the ship’s interior.

“I think she went into ‘Shocked Egghead’ mode,” Rainbow snickered. “I think you might want to give her something to keep her in one spot and not break anything?.” In response, he gave Twilight a crimson disc of some kind and Twilight broke from her trance enough to start examining the disc.

“That Matrix should keep her busy,” Eye said. “Now, to restore your flight abilities, I’m going to need to see about reinforcing your spine and joints, and then practically replacing your back with cybernetic wings.”

“Uh,” Rainbow hesitated, her face becoming pale at what he said. “How much will it hurt?”

“I will see about preventing pain during the procedure,” he told her. “It’s after that you should worry about. And the first part is just getting the back on before the wings.”

“Okay...so-” A loud monster-like roar was then heard echoing through the ship. Then alarms started to blare.

“It seems that the prisoners have escaped,” Eye started moving towards the alarms. “Stay here. My ship’s internal services should get the main surgery done, and keep Twilight safe while I’m recapturing the prisoners.”

“Hold on!” Rainbow got into an aggressive stance. “Who are your prisoners?”

“Two changelings that weren't admitted to participate in the invasion,” Eye said, causing Rainbow to relax. “The timid one won't be a problem. The aggressive will be more of a problem. So it will be best if you stay here and get the main part of the surgery done.” The floor then opened, causing Eye to fall through. Less than a few seconds later, a surgical table assembled and a semi-organic robot armed with surgical tools appeared.

Rainbow could only whimper in fear.

In the storage section of the ship, Pharynx prowled in search of his prey. While he searched, he was rather curious about the orbs filled with pixelated energy. “I wonder what these are.”

“Something you shouldn’t touch,” a voice said behind him. Pharynx whirled around to see a metal biped.

“So, you finally decided to show your face?” Pharynx growled. “About time you did.”

“For a time, I didn't have a face to show,” Eye pointed out. “And now that I do, I suppose you want to break it?”

“That’s an understatement.” Pharynx said. “More like grind it to dust!”

Begin

Pharynx charged at Brother Eye immediately, forcing him on the defensive. Relentless strike after strike gave no room for Brother Eye to retaliate. However, the tactic wore Pharynx out fast, giving Eye a chance to snag his legs and slam him on the ground. He then used some of the ship’s interior defenses to beat Pharynx around. However, unexpectedly, Pharynx pulled a tube off of the wall and slammed it into him.

When he stood up from the slam, he was suddenly grabbed in Pharynx’s magic and pulled close. Pharynx then physically grabbed him and proceeded to slam and punch him into the ship’s floor, before grabbing Eye with his magic again. A loud, air distorting roar to the face and a punch, and Brother Eye went down. “Pathetic.”

Pharynx marched up to Eye’s downed body and was ready to impale him. However, something unexpected happened. Rainbow Dash barely managed to get between the two. “Stop!”

“Step aside, pony!”

“No! He’s the only hope I have to get my wings back,” Rainbow protested.

“He harmed my brother! He will pay for that!” Pharynx bellowed before backhanding her into a bunch of wires and tubes. Some of the wires and tubes broke, causing mysterious, alien fluids to spill all over her and the fluids allowed her to get electrocuted by the wires. Had anyone been watching, they would have noticed that the electrocution started the usual blue look, then shifted to yellow, and then seemed to go through the entire rainbow spectrum.

The electrocution ended when something briefly combusted, causing Rainbow to fly out of the tangle and onto the floor. When she regained consciousness, her blurred vision could barely see Pharynx about to impale Eye. Time seemed to slow as Rainbow struggled to her hooves and began to run towards the two.

Unfortunately, unlike most cases of feeling as if time slowed down, Rainbow seemed to be moving at ‘normal’ speed. Without warning, she ended up running, face first, into Pharynx’s face. Time then resumed and she was sent in a backward somersault and he was knocked backwards.

“GRAH! You will pay for that!” Pharynx bellowed before charging at Rainbow. She braced for impact...only to look up and see that time had slowed again. She walked out of his way, and time resumed, causing Pharynx to miss completely and run headlong into a wall.

The pattern between the two continued. Rainbow kept dodging Pharynx’s charge attempts with her newfound speed, and he kept ramming into walls. As the ‘fight’ went on, Rainbow got more cocky and Pharynx got more enraged.

“Ha ha! You can’t catch me!” She taunted as she ran from one end of the room to the other instantly and constantly.

“Hold still, you bug!” Pharynx bellowed. He suddenly felt some weight on his back.

“You’re one to to talk,” Rainbow commented. “Besides, if I’m a bug, does that make you Monster Mantis?”

“Get off of me!” Pharynx made a mad grab for her, but she was off of his back by the time he barely moved a muscle.

“I’m already off,” She said from the opposite end of the room. She then began running around the room at an insane speed, taunting Pharynx everytime she passed him. “The-time-I-hold-still-is-the-time-I..” Before she could finish her statement, she tripped on a component of some sort, and somehow accelerated before suddenly vanishing in a flash of rainbow lightning and a distortion of air.

Pharynx’s head was spinning by the time Rainbow vanished. When his dizziness ended, and saw that she was gone, he went over to Brother Eye’s body and simply stabbed him in the chest. “My vengeance is complete.” He then was enveloped in green flame, returning to his normal size, and ended up collapsing in exhaustion.

Unbeknownst to him, Thorax and Brother Eye (in a new body) were watching him. “Now that he’s calm, do you think he’ll listen to reason?” Eye asked.

“More than likely,” Thorax replied. “He has a hard time understanding anything when enraged.”

“The biggest understatement I’ve heard since I woke up.” Eye then carefully picked up Pharynx with his tendrils, with the intention of brief and proper incarceration.
