You Make Me Happy

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Dear Pinkie Pie,

I want to tell you how I feel, but I don't even know.

I could tell you everything I admire, but I had to admit it to myself before I could even make an effort to tell you.

So, here it is.

I like you. I like your singing, I like your laugh, I like your smile, I like your voice, and I like...your mane.

You make my day, and make me laugh.

You make me happy.

Starlight awoke with birds singing outside. To others, a beautiful and lucky way to start the day. To her, it was annoying and she wished they would go else where. Even though she was extremely grumpy, she knew what she was doing today. Getting out of bed, she made no hesitation to sit in front of the letter once more. Dipping her quill in ink, she began writing.

*

Starlight groaned in relief when she had read over her rough draft ten times. Carefully re-writing it on a finer, scented, pink paper, she slid in into an envelope. Taking Maud's advice, she covered it with hearts and balloon and animal stickers. Along with a poof of sparkles as a magic touch just from her. She hadn't looked outside her window all day, but the lighting in the room had changed. It was clearly night at this point. Smiling triumphantly, she placed the small piece of parchment her saddlebag and stepped outside her room. Starlight stopped suddenly when she saw a small dragon appear out of nowhere. He held a small blanket and a candle.

"Starlight! You haven't been out all day! Are you okay? I wanted to check up on you, but Twilight said for me to leave you alone and- hey, are you okay?" Starlight's gaze shifted left and right.

"Uhh, yeah, w-what time is it?"

"Two hourse 'till Midnight."

"What?!" Starlight yelled, running away from her dragon friend. The Post Office usually took around two hours to complete their deliveries. Almost all of them got back by midnight. Starlight hoped she would make it before they left. Reaching the office, she saw a pegasus about to take off. She had a light grey coat and yellow mane. Starlight swore she'd seen the mare before, but that didn't matter. "Wait!" Starlight yelled, and the pegasus halted in her tracks. She turned around to Starlight, who galloped to her quickly.

"Uh, yes?"

"Deliver this!"

"Ummm..." The pegasus mare made a derped expression. "We can't make deliveries that aren't-"

"Please! I need this delivered tonight! There's no way you don't know the place!" The mare raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, yeah? What is it?"

"Sugar Cube Corner! Where Pinkie Pie lives!" Her facial expression softened as she took the letter from Starlight.

"Oh, yeah! I know that! I can do that for you!" She took off and Starlight practically cried from thanking her.
