Chapters Doctor Whooves had been up all night studying this disease. With his trusty assistant Derpy by his side, he was in the process of formulating a cure when he heard on the news that he and Derpy were the only survivors.
"Well...", said Whooves nervously. "That's not good now, is it?".
"Yeah!", said Derpy, who was quite scared at the moment.
"Hmm.", inquired the doctor. "It seems like the disease was created by another being of this world. That particular being was King Sombra, although he was seemingly banished to the far north, north of the Crystal Empire. Now, he has returned.".
"But how?", asked Derpy. "Sombra WAS banished forever, wasn't he?".
"It WOULD seem that way.", said the doctor. "But nothing lasts forever in this world, which means we MUST find a cure before the whole of Equestria succumbs to this awful infection. And while the news said there are no survivors except the two of us, they don't know that all the way... yet."
"Rainbow Dash!", cried Derpy.
"SO YOU TWO HAVE BEEN CURING EVERYPONY WITH YOUR LITTLE TOYS?!" Rainbow Dash roared. "I JUST WANT TO TELL YOU THAT I AM THE LEADER OF THIS WORLD!! SOMBRA HIMSELF RECRUITED ME TO TURN EVERYPONY INTO THESE BEASTS! I TURNED TWILIGHT FIRST, AND THEN SHE ATE APPLEJACK'S FLESH!! NOW I WILL CONSUME THE TWO OF YOURS!! YOU TWO ARE THE ONLY SURVIVORS! ONCE I FINISH MY FEAST ON YOU TWO, ALL OF EQUESTRIA WILL DIE!!! "
"We will stop you!!" screamed the doctor passionately. "Me and my assistant will win in the end!"
"GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!!" Rainbow Dash laughed maniacally.
"FIGHT!!!!" screamed the doctor once more.
The two ponies each let out a ferocious battle cry and charged toward the remaining infected ponies. Energy blasts rippled throughout all of Equestria as the final battle commenced. As the battle drew on, Doctor Whooves found a clear shot opening at Rainbow Dash. However, he was down to his last cure bullet. Knowing that Derpy had run out of ammo, and knowing that if he missed, Equestria would perish. With his eyes closed, and his ears focused, Doctor Whooves took the shot, but not before letting out a Latin cry:
"ULTIMUM REMEDIUM!!!"
The shot hit Rainbow Dash dead center, and the resulting explosion created a blue shockwave that vibrated the whole planet.
As Rainbow Dash lay in a smoking crater, seemingly dead, she groaned, got up, and looked around. What she saw shocked her. Every building in Ponyville was destroyed. She began to break down in tears. Her home was destroyed... by herself and her actions.
"There, there", said Doctor Whooves comfortedly, consoling Rainbow. "There's no need to cry. It's all over. Everypony is fine. We will NEVER experience something like this ever again".
"Really?", sniffed Rainbow, thoroughly shocked and overcome with sorrow.
"Yes.", said Doctor Whooves. "We never will."
THE END
One dark night in Ponyville and the rest of Equestria, a dark, purple poisonous cloud swept over every town and city. This cloud was created by the most evil being in all of Equestria, the monstrous King Sombra. Known as Sombritis, what it could do was soon to be found.
Twilight Sparkle was the first to be infected. The disease soon spread, as it was airborne, and anyone who touched another would also be infected.
"RAARRGHHH!!!!", Twilight roared viciously as the strain infected her. Growling in pain, her bones cracked and shifted into an entirely new, monstrous form. Her wings stretched out so much that her bones began to crunch out of her body. When the transformation was complete, Twilight went on an unstoppable, bloodthirsty rage.
Twilight first found Applejack. She roared at her, catching the surprise of the cowgirl mare.
"Twil... WHAT IN TARNATION HAPPENED TO YOU?!", cried the orange earth pony in horror. However, she was not able to answer as Twilight leapt on top of her and began to eat her flesh. Twilight was no longer her normal self. She was a monster that could not be contained. Twilight used her sharp fangs to tear out Applejack's heart, and then tore out her intestines the same way. When she was finished with her feast, Applejack was left torn completely apart, dead as dinner.
"To fight this disease and all who have been infected by it, I have prepared some high-tech, state-of-the-art weaponry that will cure everyone that has been infected." said Doctor Whooves confidently.
"What is it?", asked Derpy excitedly.
Doctor Whooves ushered Derpy to a secret room that had never been opened before. The doctor entered a secret passcode to open the door. Inside were two armored suits that looked like they were from the future.
"Here", said Doctor Whooves to Derpy. "This will help us fight the infected ponies. We will not hurt them, but only cure them, so they can go back to living their normal lives."
"Let's suit up!", said Derpy excitedly.
"Hm.. yes, indeed", said Doctor Whooves.
The two of them put on their high-tech armored suits and walked out of the secret room. Doctor Whooves closed it and re-entered the secret passcode. Then the doctor and his assistant walked out of Doctor Whooves' house, and out into the infected area. Except there was one problem.
"Bloody hell..." said Doctor Whooves nervously. "We're vastly outnumbered!".
The infected ponies, numbering 10,000 Equestrians, charged at the two survivors. Doctor Whooves and Derpy fired up their weapons and blasted the cure into the first pony they came across: Mayor Mare!
"Goodness". said the doctor, being thoroughly shocked. "I thought she would be one of the first to be infected!"
"We have to save everyone single one of these ponies!", shouted Derpy, panicked. Suddenly, 5 infected ponies leapt on top of her and began to tear into her!
"NOOO!!! GET AWAY FROM MY ASSISTANT, YOU FOUL BEASTS!!!" screamed Doctor Whooves angrily. In a firing frenzy, he began to destroy every infected pony in his path, without even aiming. Several ponies were cured at once, but most were disentegrated, to the doctor's horror. "Bloody hell!", the doctor cried to himself. "I must calm down! I do hope that Derpy is OK".
However, the doctor was still by himself as he continued to battle the infected one-on-one. He wished that Derpy was at his side so they could have an easier shot at curing everypony. It was getting rather difficult as he continued by himself. "Oh, Derpy!!!", cried the doctor to himself, "Where have you gone?! You are my most trusted partner! I would never do anything without you!".
Suddenly, Derpy reappeared next to him, much to his delight. However, something looked different about her. For a split second, the doctor almost thought she was infected, but it turned out she had become immune to the virus! In fact, she looked like she could cure everypony all at once! It was like she had become an angel!
"Derpy!", said Doctor Whooves. "Thank heavens you're here! I thought you had become one of them!"
"Nope, I'm perfectly fine", said Derpy confidently. "Whaddya say we take care of the rest of these baddies?"
"Absolutley!", said the doctor. But before they could do anything, a voice cried out:
"HEY!!! THAT'S MY LINE!!!
"Rainbow Dash", cried Derpy in fear and horror.
