Custers Second to Last Stand

BANG!!

The single gunshot was followed by an entire other line of gunshots. A line of arrows from the Sioux warriors replied,not as loud,but just as furious.Several men were hit by the arrows,The arrows pierced their skin and blood followed the piercings.The wounded men let out screams on pain as they were hit. Custer wasn't going to lie to himself,these Sioux were tough,But he had seen worse at Bull Run. Lieutenant James Calhoun,a good man, approached Custer. "Sir!" he gave a salute,Custer responded with a salute "Were being massacred sir,the Sioux,there's....there's just too many of them".

Custer knew it was truth,he would have brought more men,if he only knew. Custer thought it was going to be an easy campaign at first,Round up the run away Sioux and bring them back. He did not anticipate a full scale battle,more importantly he did not expect this many Sioux warriors. He knew if he didn't do something so,either the Sioux would kill him or he would lose his reputation in an embarrassing defeat.Suddenly an idea hit him, "Lieutenant,order your remaining men to charge".

The Lieutenants face dropped, "I beg your pardon sir?"

"You heard me were going to charge em" Custer replied.

The lieutenant replied "That's suicide sir, they'll shoot us up with arrows"

Custer then looked his lieutenant in the eye 'No....they will most likely charge back at us,because they too are running low on ammunition as we are, so they will charge too".

The lieutenant knew his commanding officer was stubborn and what not change his mind. So the lieutenant did a salute and said "I will gather my remaining men for a charge,please promise me you'll back us up".

Custer then responded with a salute and said "I promise Lieutenant".

The lieutenant then left to go be with his troops.Custer then turned his head and saw his men gathering up.He then looked down and checked to see if his revolver was loaded,It was. "I think it is time" whispered Custer to himself. Custer then drew his sword "Gentlemen,we are the United States Army!! We defeated the British nearly a century ago! We defeated the Confederate Rebels of the South in Virginia! We shall not lose,NOW.......CHARGE!!!!"

The men all began to yell as they rode their horses and ran alongside their commanding officer. Their yelling was responded by with the yelling of the Sioux warriors also charging.And a few seconds later both sides clashed.

FWEHP!!!
BANG!!
AHHHHH!

These were the sounds that surrounded Custer at the moment. He pulled out his revolver and began shooting,It was hard to shoot cosnidering he still had his saber in his other hand.He looked around him, he saw the lietunent from earlier with his revolver shooting at an Sioux warrior.Suddenly then a Sioux warrior came up behind the lieyenannt and stabbed him in the neck with and axe. Custer began shooting at the warrior,He then turned around.

FWEHP!!

An arrow hit him in the chest.He felt it pierce his chest.Custer let out a yell "ARRRGH!!". He then fell to the ground,in the most pain he had ever felt. Custer knew it was the end,So he began to close his eyes for what he believed to be the last time. Custer felt as though this was the end,But in reality it was the beginning of something else.
