As one of the two princesses of Equestria and the goddess of the sun, Celestia was highly sought after by mares and stallions seeking a mate. The problem was that since she was given her choice of so many ponies she had found it difficult to settle for just one.

So she started forming romantic relationships with many different ponies, and for close to twelve years she kept her relationships a secret from the media and her many suitors. Despite pressure from her suitors she had never engaged in any public displays of affection, had never formally acknowledged any of her relationships to her friends, and had refrained from both sexual intercourse and marriage.
