Chapter Three

Previous Chapter

“What happened?” Cadence asked she was feeding Flurry Heart with a bottle full of milk.

“Canterlot just exploded!” Flash Sentry said to Cadence and her husband. “We were flying on the outskirts as directed by the princesses, searching for Fleur’s killer when it just went up in flames.”

“I sensed Twilight’s aura completely fade, same with Luna’s, but Celestia’s took awhile before it vanished,” Cadence explained.

“What is strong enough to kill them,” Shining said. “I only know Discord, but he couldn’t do that, he wouldn’t; he’s reformed!”

“Maybe Queen Chrysalis, she could have posed as Celestia,” Flash said.

“Can’t be, I felt Celestia aura, not somepony hidden as her.” Cadence frowned. “All Alicorns are linked, even alicorns that just become alicorns five minutes ago. And I keep feeling another aura, like another alicorn, do you think it’s she who attacked Canterlot?”

“It seems that’s the only explanation, I’ll order a platoon of pegasi soldiers to search over Canterlot from the air,” Shining said and quickly trotted off.

Flurry flinched, seeming uneasy as she awoke from her nap. She began to sniffle as if she was preparing to cry. “Flurry what’s the matter?”

“Maybe she knows I’m not Flash,” Flash smiled. A glitz of blue light surrounded the orange guard and relieved Starry Spoon! She laughed. “A simple cloaking spell and you bought it? I mean, why would we even be searching the outskirts for Fleur’s killer. Such a dunce.”

She hovered Flurry out of Cadence’s hooves, who was completely frozen in fear. Starry placed many kisses on the young one’s face.

“You! You’re the aura I sensed, b-b-but how, I would have felt you in this room,” Cadence stuttered.

“The cloaking spell doubles as an invisibility spell, allowing me to slide under the aura. I didn’t even know about them until I felt you moving to the Crystal Empire and knew you’d feel me.” Starry laughed, gently moving onto her haunches. “How old is the little one? And what’s her name?”

“F-flurry Heart, she’s only a year old,” Cadence frowned on the edge of glory.

“Perfect! She won’t remember you. But she’ll remember me because I’m exactly who’s she’s coming with,” She laughed, her horn igniting. Cadence wasn’t met with the normal static instead of a horrible burning sensation from the inside of her. Starry had hold of all the elements of nature.

Cadence vomited, her stomach contents bubbling up like a pot on a stove. Starry glared at her, using her magic to scoop the regulated food up and rubbed it all over the pink alicorn. She hovered Cadence in the center of the room to scrub it into the deepest service.

Starry cranked up the heat, watching blood drool out Cadence’s nose, her tears slide out before evaporating too. Cadence would have screamed if she didn’t have her mouth cranked shut.

Starry recoiled as vomit jetted out Cadence’s nose. Her face turning bright red. Her hair caught on fire from the extreme heat on her skin. First a small puff of smoke than a whole orange blaze and ruined her mane and tail.

Starry quickly dropped Cadence less Shining come back. She resumed her form as Flash Sentry and trotted out, quickly locking the door shut.

I laughed at my successful kill of Cadence. The amulet seemed to just eat up all this evil and transfer it into power. I hadn’t much time to read up on scrolls or spells on the train ride, nor the stop at my hotel room, so this spell was completely made by me.

“Flash, where is Cadence? Why do you have Flurry Heart,” Shining asked incredulously.

“Cadence went to the bathroom, she wanted me to take Flurry out for some air,” I lied. Shining nodded and trotted off. I chuckled and continued on, I quickly veered for the exit, flapping my wings and lifting off shakily; I wasn’t used to my wings all the way.

I quickly took a new form once I entered my bedroom. It was a unicorn mare with pale pink fur and plum purple mane. Her cutie mark was a star and arrow. I set Flurry down gently. I needed to go out for baby food.

I cast a sleep spell on Flurry that I used on myself in the train ride that would wear off in 2 hours. I grabbed my saddle pack and ventured onto the street.

They hadn’t yet gotten news of Canterlot, but it was still fairly empty. I went to a retail store and went into the infant section. I purchased twelve packets of foal formula, a blanket, and a box of diapers.

The cashier rang me up and I quickly stowed them in my saddle pack next to the alicorn amulet. I settled it back on my back and trotted outside. There was a convenient t.v store that ponies were crowded around as it was displaying the news.

It was showing drone footage, likely a camera strapped to one of the pegasi guards of the ruined Canterlot city. The buildings were reduced to chunks of cement and iron. I could see ash covered limbs and heads sticking out, staining their surroundings in blood.

Over a million ponies lived in Canterlot. And they were all dead, my kill count was more than a million! I tried and failed to hide my smirk, so I continued back to the hotel room and sighed as I clicked on a cartoon show.

My hotel was a lot better than in Canterlot for the same price! It had a queen-sized bed, a window, two couches. And the bathroom had a bathtub not the cramped shower from my previous stays.

Speaking of which, I trotted into the bathroom and used the provided toothbrush and tube of toothpaste to brush my teeth. I then eased into the bathroom, turning on the rainstorm of warm water.

I scrubbed mango and pomegranate 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner into my mane. Letting it soak in the tub. After a while, I heard faint crying. It was Flurry Heart, she must have finally awoken and was hungry or had shit herself.

I grumbled and drained the tub, using a towel to dry off my body and wrapped my mane up as I went into the bedroom.

Flurry looked at me, she let out a string of unintelligible babbling, but I assume she was asking for Cadence, I levitated her, she giggled and I took her into the kitchen. I mixed the formula together and placed it into the bottle already provided.

Flurry laughed before suckling on it, taking it in all hour hooves. I quickly lit my horn, casting a cloaking spell over her to look more like my foal and to hide her alicorn wings. This would also prevent Shining from tracking her.

I turned back to the news, which Flurry did not appreciate. But I had to see this; news outlets tend to give away too much information, which would greatly help me. I mean, I was the strongest pony in Equestria. Nothing really was stopping me from rushing to Shining and killing him too.

But this was fun! I don’t know why. It was Shining announcing the collapse of Canterlot, and Cadence’s death and Flurry Heart’s disappearance. He was sending a group of unicorns to the Crystal Empire castle to raise the moon and lower the sun.

He finished by announcing a public memorial for the lost princesses. I knew this was the perfect time to strike.

I placed Flurry on my back, nothing else matters right now and went to the street. I waved my hoof, calling over a taxi. “How much to the castle?”

“Ten bits,” he said in a raspy tone.

“Alright,” I smiled, getting onto his cart that he pulled behind him, I set Flurry on my lap and hummed softly to her. I had changed her diaper and wrapped her in the soft blanket.

In about half an hour we were there. “Pay up, misses,” he drawled. I sent a zap through his brain, making him pass out. He dropped down and Flurry giggled at him. I chuckled too and trotted to the front entrance.

“I came to raise the sun, or lower it, I want to help,” I smiled.

“And you’re foal?”

“She can’t be home unattended,” I frowned. The guard nodded and escorted me to Shining Armor, there were about twenty ponies, an orange and white pony was talking to Cadence’s husband.

“Hey, I’m Sunburst,” the orange and white one said to me when I approached. “I work with Starlight Glimmer, she is Ponyville, I’m so glad!”

“She’s your marefriend,” I asked and he blushed a deep shade of red.

“Oh, no, no, just a friend.” Sunburst turned to address the unicorns, “Alrighty everypony, ignite your horns and on Shining’s countdown, we will use our basic levitation abilities to lower the sun. You don’t have to strain your magic just do whats comfortable for you!”

“3...2...1!” Shining said, their horns glowed, even Sunburst and Shinings. I grinned, ignited my own horn to melt away my disguise. Flurry laughed, hugging my neck as she recognized me.

I blasted the ponies, aside from Sunburst and Shining, down in a flare of heat. They screeched as their bodies were instantly charred, their flesh melting off the bone, I watched a mare’s eye pop out and dangle on the optical nerve.

Shining roared, “IT'S YOU, YOU KILLED MY WIFE, MY SISTER...my foal! But you won’t hurt anypony else.”

“That’s not up to you,” I chuckled. He blasted me with a beam of light but I leaped out the way at the last second. I set Flurry down on a table and kissed her cheek.

“Be good for mommy,” I chuckled, taking down her disguise. Shining gasped.

“Sunburst get Flurry and go! I’ll handle this terrorist!” Shining roared. I sent a blaze of fire at him, it scorched the front of his chest but he kept going, running off of anger and remorse.

I rolled my eyes but grunted when he collided with me. Used to pain, I was on my hooves quickly, I sent a crackle of electricity at him, his muscles pulled to their limits as he was forced into a temporary paralysis.

I giggled, ramming my horn through his chest, missing his heart on purpose. Flurry laughed as Sunburst picked her up. “Flurry blast him in the face!” I growled, pulling out my blood covered horn and letting Shining slump down.

Flurry obeyed, little horn glowing blue as she set his bread on fire. Sunburst gasped slapping himself to put it out. I took my moment to leap up, I levitated him into the wall, causing a dent in the wall.
