A Bet too Far

Applejack sat down at Rainbow Dash’s small kitchen table, while Rainbow Dash tended to a large pot on her stove. Applejack could smell the soup from where she was sitting, and surprisingly it smelled good. She knew Rainbow Dash wasn’t much of a cook, but everyone had that one recipe that they could pull off well, and Applejack was surprised that Rainbow Dash was making what must have been her one good dish for her. The smell of chicken combined with peppers and spices filled the air as Rainbow Dash filled two bowls of the soup.

“That smells great Dash,” Applejack said happily.

“I’m glad you think so,” Rainbow Dash said as she sat the two bowls down on the table. “I just hope it’s not too spicy for your little tummy,” Rainbow Dash added as she began to refill the bottle she had given Applejack with juice.

“And just like that you ruined it,” Applejack complained quietly.

“Watch that attitude missy,” Rainbow Dash scolded as she placed a bib around Applejack’s neck. The bib was fairly large, it came down to the middle of Applejacks belly, and it was white, with a pattern of pink cherries. The bib didn’t bother Applejack at all, as she often would mimic a bib with a napkin whenever she ate. Even Applejack could admit that she ate fast and that made her a messy eater, and even though she hated the dress, she didn't want to ruin all of Rarity’s hard work. Despite hopes that she would be able to eat by herself, Applejack became distressed when Rainbow Dash moved into position to feed her.

“Come on Dash,” Applejack said squirming away from the spoonful of soup Rainbow Dash was moving toward her mouth. “This is going to take forever. Can’t I just do it myself?” Applejack’s sentence was punctuated by Rainbow Dash seizing the opportunity to stick the spoonful of food into Applejack’s mouth.

“It would go faster if you behaved and ate your food like a good girl,” Rainbow Dash countered as she prepared another spoonful. Applejack swallowed the bite that was in her mouth, no time to ponder how tasty it was as Rainbow dash was already on the attack with another bite and she had to dodge out of the way. “Applejack!” Rainbow Dash shouted frustrated.

“Just let me,” Applejack began but again she was interrupted by a spoon being shoved into her mouth, when she moved to protest Rainbow Dash quickly stuck another in. Applejack struggled to force the food in her mouth down, causing her to dribble onto her bib, which Rainbow Dash used to wipe her face.

“I knew I should have gotten a high chair,” Rainbow Dash huffed. “Someone has earned themselves a time out. But not until after you’ve eaten. You’re not leaving that chair until you’ve eaten the whole bowl.”

“Time out!?” Applejack protested, but again she was silenced with another spoonful.

“Yes time out. That’s where bad girls go to when they misbehave.”

“Bad girl?” Applejack said, this time questioning the words Rainbow Dash was using. Again she was cut short by a spoonful of food. Seeing that this process was going to continue, and how she couldn't properly feed herself with the mittens attached anyway Applejack resigned herself to being fed.

“Ok ok,” Applejack said annoyed. “I’ll be good just slow down.” Rainbow Dash gave Applejack a look of disbelief, but gave her a chance and moved the latest spoonful up to Applejack’s mouth slowly. Applejack obediently opened her mouth and accepted the food, though not without a good deal of embarrassment on her part.

It was about halfway through her bowl of soup that Applejack realized with disdain that she had to go to the bathroom, this wasn’t helped by the frequent breaks from eating soup where Rainbow Dash would make Applejack drink from her bottle. Applejack knew that using her diaper was inevitable, but she was finding it difficult to do with Rainbow Dash feeding her, and she couldn’t bring herself to tell Rainbow Dash what she was doing so Rainbow Dash wasn’t stopping. The feeding didn’t last that much longer though, soon Applejack found herself struggling as rainbow Dash somewhat aggressively wiped her face off with the bib she was wearing.

“Ok missy ten minutes in the corner,” Rainbow Dash said seriously.

“Are we really doing this Dash?” Applejack questioned angrily.

“Keep up that back talk and it will be twenty minutes,” Rainbow Dash scolded. “Now march to that corner, and put your nose to the wall.” Applejack obeyed with a huff and a serious pout. “Do you want your paci sweetie?” Rainbow Dash asked?

“No,” Applejack answered from the corner annoyed. Rainbow Dash began cleaning the kitchen, keeping an ear out for Applejack who was quietly standing in her appointed corner.

Applejack was having a bit of an internal crises, as she struggled between releasing the increasing strain on her bladder, and loosing her pride. As her time in the corner was ending Applejack finally couldn't hold back anymore and let go, filling her diaper. She grew more and more uncomfortable as the diaper filled and began to swell, and the warmness spread throughout. While Applejack didn’t find the experience of wetting the diaper pleasant, much like wearing the diaper itself, it wasn’t as bad as she thought it would be. It was wet, clammy, and warm, but as the diaper swelled it moved most of it away from her skin so she could almost forget it wasn’t there. Though Applejack found herself pressing the diaper against herself in an impulse she didn’t quite understand.

“Did you have an accident?” Rainbow Dash asked, having walked in on her friend grabbing the used diaper. Applejack blushed and let go of the diaper causing it to sag more than she expected and her to stumble a bit. Applejack didn’t answer Rainbow Dash’s question, but she didn’t need to as her embarrassed face said it all. “Let me check,” Rainbow Dash said lowering Applejack’s diaper cover to reveal the now stained and sagging diaper underneath. She ran her finger through the leg hole.

“You already know its wet,” Applejack said quietly holding up the skirt of the dress while Rainbow Dash did her pointless inspection.

“Yeah it is wet,” Rainbow Das cooed. “You sure had to go huh?” Rainbow Dash added encouragingly as she finished removing the diaper cover. This reaction from Rainbow Dash threw Applejack for a loop, more so than anything else she had done, or maybe because of everything else she had done. Applejack couldn’t be sure which was the case, but what she could be sure of is that something was going on here, and Rainbow Dash wasn’t being honest with her.

“I’m so proud of you,” Rainbow Dash said leading Applejack back to the makeshift changing table. “Using your diaper like a good girl. We should get you a chart or something. If you use it enough then you can get a prize.” Rainbow Dash said as she prepared a different diaper to change Applejack in to. This one was white, and decorated with pictures of cute animals playing with toys throughout, and trimmed with a blue design around the legs. “Ok lay down.”

“Rainbow Dash,” Applejack said seriously, or as serious as she could given her current attire.

“What is it sweetie?” Rainbow Dash asked innocently.

“Do you mind telling me what’s going on here?!” Applejack asked angrily.

“What do you mean?” Rainbow Dash said faltering.

“I mean what is all of this?”

“All of what? You lost the bet, you’re just holding up you’re end of the bargain.”

“That’s not what I mean. Why are you acting like this?”

“Acting like what?” Rainbow Dash said her voice faltering.

“Don’t play dumb, you know what I mean?” Applejack said hammering down on Rainbow Dash. “You’re acting weird. Like nice and caring.”

“Would you rather I act mean and nasty?”

“No, but that would be what I expected,” Applejack said frustrated. “That’s what I thought I was getting in to, I thought this was just a way to embarrass me like I embarrassed you last time. It’s not though. What’s really going on here?”

“What does it matter?” Rainbow Dash countered defensively.

“Rainbow Dash!”

“I just … I just,” Rainbow Dash stuttered. “I just wanted a little ok!” Rainbow Dash finally blurted.

“A little?” Applejack said confused. “Like a kid?”

“No,” Rainbow Dash said noticeably scared. “A little. An adult, acting like a kid.” Rainbow Dash faltered toward the end.

“What?” Applejack replied confused.

“I can’t explain it ok,” Rainbow Dash said frustrated. “It’s just something I’ve wanted. For a while I thought I wanted to be little. Act like a kid for a minute and not worry about stuff, but then I realized I didn't want to be little I wanted to take care of a little. If I ever got the opportunity that is.”

“Oh,” Applejack said coming to a realization.

“I’m sorry,” Rainbow Dash said crying. “Nobody would do this for me. It’s weird and I can’t force it on anyone. I thought the bet with you was the only way I could do it. I knew it was misleading, but after what you did to me I thought that was fair game. I just wanted a little for a day, just for little bit.” There was a pause as Rainbow Dash sniffled and sobbed. “You should go home. I messed up and I shouldn’t have dragged you into this.”

Applejack stood still. The weight of the emotional bomb Rainbow Dash had just dropped weighing her down. She didn’t know what to do, and she partly felt responsible for her friend’s current sadness, having set the tone of deception earlier. That and since so far the entire "little" experience hadn’t been horrible gave Applejack an idea. An idea that she felt she might regret later, but one she felt she needed to act on.

“Ok,” Applejack said suddenly with a sigh. “I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do.” Rainbow Dash looked at applejack with sad eyes as she continued. “Like I’ve said before you’ve won fair and square, and I wasn’t exactly honest with you either when we had our last bet. So I think I owe you one day of being a ‘little’ no matter the reason.” At this Rainbow Dash’s face lit up.

“Really?”

“Really,” Applejack said with a sigh. “I’m not going to promise to be perfect, but I’ll play the part as best I can.” Applejack barely finished this sentence before Rainbow Dash embraced her in a tear filled hug.

“Thank you thank you thank you,” Rainbow Dash said hugging Applejack tightly. Applejack lovingly hugged Rainbow Dash back. “I bet you’re ready for a change huh?” Rainbow Dash said drying up her tears.

“Yeah,” Applejack said giggling as she eagerly hopped on to the changing table.

Applejack laid down on the changing table with a different, more accepting attitude. The attitude shift made this diaper change much less embarrassing than the first. And she carelessly suckled on a pacifier while Rainbow Dash changed her.

“Sit still sweetie,” Rainbow Dash said, as Applejack was unknowingly squirming around absent mindedly. Applejack made an effort to stop moving, until Rainbow Dash finished changing her into a clean diaper. “Ok all done squirmy butt,” Rainbow Dash said giggling as she helped Applejack up. Applejack giggled cutely in response. Rainbow Dash led Applejack back into her living room, and invited her back into the play pen.

Rainbow Dash sat with Applejack as Applejack looked over the toys with new interest. She wanted to play with them, be the baby Rainbow Dash wanted, but she still was somewhat unsure of how to play with all of the toys. Rainbow Dash noticed Applejack’s trepidation and sat down with her and tried to help her get into playing with the toys.

“Look at the bunny,” Rainbow Dash said moving a stuffed toy with the sound of her voice. Applejack couldn’t help but laugh, and began playing along with Rainbow Dash mimicking her movements. Eventually she lost herself in a head space she hadn’t been in before, and she began playing with the toys on her own. Giving the stuffed animals their own voices and characters as she played with them. All the while Rainbow Dash hummed behind her, cheering her on and cooing at her.

Applejack began to lose track of time as she played. Before she knew it Rainbow Dash was approaching her with a fleece sleeper.

“It’s getting late sweetie, let’s get your jammies on,” Rainbow Dash instructed. This somehow snapped Applejack out of the trance she had been in, and came to her more adult senses. She silently stood up and allowed Rainbow Dash to unlock and unzip her dress. Applejack stood in deep thought still suckling her pacifier as Rainbow Dash lovingly removed the dress and helped Applejack into her sleeper. It was made of a soft fleece and was decorated with pink, purple, and green polka dots with attached feet and mittens. In truth it could pass as something someone Applejack’s age would wear, in fact Applejack was reminded of similar set of one piece pajamas she had at home.

“Everything ok?” Rainbow Dash asked as she zipped Applejack’s sleeper up.

“Yeah sorry,” Applejack said quietly.

“You sure?” Rainbow Dash asked while she fixed Applejack’s hair inside the hood of her sleeper.” Applejack nodded silently, but Rainbow Dash could sense that perhaps her friend had been overloaded. “Why don’t you sit on the couch? I’ll get in my jammies and we can watch a little tv before bed,” Rainbow Dash said, leaving Applejack alone for a minute. Applejack quietly sat on the couch, and snuggled into the warmness of her sleeper. It wasn’t long before Rainbow Dash emerged from her room wearing a two piece pajama set, with a snow flake pattern. She motioned for Applejack to wait as she went into the kitchen briefly. Returning with a mug for her and a bottle for Applejack. To Applejack’s surprise Rainbow Dash handed the bottle to Applejack to drink for herself as opposed to feeding her. Applejack casually drank the warm milk from her bottle, when she was further surprised by Rainbow Dash turning the t.v. to a nightly talk show.

Suddenly the intense baby themed play time had turned into an only slightly unusual night between two friends. Aside from the bottle Applejack was drinking from, and the pacifier she was suckling when she wasn’t drinking form the bottle. Applejack and Rainbow Dash acted like normal. Making snide remarks and jokes as the show went on. Applejack realized that her friend was giving her a bit of a break, one she was thankful for. Though she was becoming conflicted. She was having fun. It was fun playing as a child while Rainbow Dash watched and cooed. That wasn’t something she could admit to herself though so she choose not to think about it.

As Applejack finished her bottle, the warm milk was starting to have an effect on her and she began to nod off on Rainbow Dash’s shoulder.

“Woah, I think it’s night night time for someone,” Rainbow Dash said her motherly tone coming back. Applejack meekly nodded in agreement, and didn’t protest much as Rainbow Dash led her to the guest bedroom. “I know it’s not much,” Rainbow Dash said gesturing to the small twin bed she had. Applejack didn’t complain though as the milk was rapidly dragging her off to sleep. She fell with a thud on to the bed and was out like a light. Rainbow Dash sighed and carefully tucked Applejack in to the covers. Once she was satisfied that Applejack was in bed, Rainbow Dash left being sure to leave the door open a bit so she could hear inside.

Author's Note

Ok another chapter for you guys. Hopefully now you can see why I divided these two chapters up like that. I tried to divide it around the time Applejack grew suspicious of Rainbow Dash's feelings, because that was a tone shift. We still aren't out of this first little spisode just yet, the next chapter is going to be the next day, and we're going to get some more little time with Dash and AJ. Hope you guys enjoy.
