Twilight has been assigned to help assess potential new students for Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. But her journey would almost end in in disaster, leaving Twilight unable to fly or really cast much magic. Whilst in recovery, two ponies would help her not only complete her royal duties, but gain a deeper understanding of the what happened to three of her closest friends and is determined to help them mend their broken families.

At the same time, both Sunburst and Starlight are starting to fall in love with each other. But, neither has the courage to confess their true feelings for one and another because of deep fears stemming from their troubled foal hood and current issues. However, events are going to conspire to set them both on a path to start resolving these life long emotional, family, and personal problems that will change them forever.
