File 1 Ch 3: The Saviors

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

On the left side of the Drops' Family Residential Home, there was a neighboring bright pink house that had only two residence inside.

One of these occupants was an adolescent girl with light pink short hair and light red skin. She was currently inside her bedroom; after an exhausting day at her school, she is sitting alone at her desk and grudgingly occupied with finishing her homework.

(A Few Minutes before The Chase)

"Ugh! Teachers fucking suck."

The light pink hair girl groaned, her tone of voice had a hint of boredom, annoyance, and exhaustion. She gritted her teeth and furiously scratched her short hair with the sharp nails of her right hand.

Her current appearance seems to be worse for wear. Her hair was mangled into a disordered state as some strands went astray on all directions, a whiff of bad sweat odor puffed out of her body and there were traces of fresh mud on her light red hoodie jacket and black & white sneaker shoes, which left smudges on her bedroom carpet and chair.

"I already have softball practice and student council meetings after school, do I have to do all this shit by tomorrow?" She complained to herself while she quickly scribbled down every single piece information from her already fatigued mind into her school work. "They must make everyone miserable on purpose. After this, I'm going..."

She paused her complaint as her conscious begins to drift away due to the exhaustion. She looks away from the pile of homework papers and towards her bedroom window.

She lets out a sad sigh. "After this, I'm going to become... ummm..." She hesitated on what she was going to say. "Huh? What do I want to be?"

She tilted her chair back, placed a pencil on top of her nose and put both her hands on the back of her head.

"Maybe, I could join sis as a professional wrestler... Ha!" She seriously thought to herself but ended up chuckling at the first career choice. "Wrestlings going to be dead in a couple of years. Who wants to see sweaty girls fight inside a square fighting area... excluding boxing but I don't want to fuck up my face every time I give my opponent a chance to punch me."

"Caretaker is also out of the question. I'm good at taking care of Sara but she's well taught and not much of a troublemaker, to begin with. I can't say the same thing for the other kids and I would spend most of my time in someone's house..."

The girl lay down the right side of her cheek on the desk and exhales an exhausted and frustrated sigh

"I like to take care of children but I have no idea how to take care of their tantrums and I don't want to spend my life at someone's home. Well, there's... no no no... I am not going to become a..."

Her moment of adolescent existential crisis was abruptly interrupted when her bedroom door fiercely opened wide and what came in was something unexpected. She expected to be her sister on the other side of the door. But as soon she turned her attention towards the door, she sees a light brown haired man in a black suit and red bow tie enter her bedroom.

"Mister Joe?" She calmly said, not shocked by the fact that an adult male came in her room unannounced. "Ummm... I mean, Welcome to my home, Sir. What are you..."

"Cheryl, we have a problem." He urgently stated to the teen, interrupting her question. He soon began to rummage around the girl's room, tossing items on the floor. "Where do you keep your Basic Kit and Assault Gear?"

"At my closet." The girl named Cheryl said, got out of her seat and pointed at a door beside her bed. "Is something the..."

"We are in some deep, deep shit now, Cheryl," Joe said in a panicked tone. He jolted when he suddenly realized what he just phrased in front of the fifteen-year-old girl. He paused his erratic progress and adjusted his red bow tie. "Pardon for my unnecessary and vulgar profanity, Miss Blossom." He politely apologized.

"Duly noted, Sir." The girl answered with the stoic and obedient attitude of a trained soldier. She stood up, straight up her legs together and performed a right-hand salute at the man.

"No need for any form of pleasantries, Miss Blossom," Joe responded to the girl's serious gesture of respect. "And just call me Joe."

Cheryl looked away from the older and her face blushed with embarrassment as he gave her a gentle and sincere smile that could make charm any adult woman... well, most of them.

"Ahem... What seems to be the problem, Mist...Ummm, Joe?" She awkwardly questioned.

"Oh umm..." Joe mumbled for he forgot his main objective on why he arrived at the girl's room. "Miss Blossom, I fear that the Drops family has been compromised."

Cheryl's jaw dropped and eyes widen when she heard the shocking news. Instead of asking him a question, she instinctively went straight to her window to check on her neighbor's home for she was worried for the little girl, who she thought was sound asleep but saw that she was looking out her window as well. The girl was about to call out her young neighbor to come to her house but lost that chance as she saw something that sent a chill up her spine.

"Ummm... Sir." The girl nervously informed the man. "I think they're here already."

"What do you..." The man named Joe tried to ask but was abruptly cut off when he saw what the girl. "... mean? Fuck."

Impending doom has befallen on the duo and the little girl next door as they notice a bunch of white vans that had a logos on both sides that say "Changeling Solutions Research Division" arrive on the scene. The vehicles parked around the front of the house and with a flash, all of the vans' doors opened and multiple people got out.

All of them wore black suits and a pair of sunglasses. They had unreadable expressions as if they were mindless and required to be controlled by someone with a higher rank. No one was fazed by the soaking wet rain but rather they just endured it and the freezing cold and waiting for something important.

Apart from the numerous people suits, the girl felt most disturbed when she saw the last one exit one of the vehicles. This one is different from the rest of the men and woman. This one was a long dark green hair and onyx black skin woman. The people stepped aside, formed a line towards the house front door, placed their right arm on their chest and bowed before the woman.

"She must be the leader..." Cheryl pondered while continuing to observe the peoples' activities. "Wait, is she..."

One of the minions got out of the group formation, opened an umbrella she was carrying and placed it on the woman to prevent the water from soaking her leader.

This subordinate seemed to be younger and has more color than the rest. She seemed out of place from the group and her presence was a mystery. She was a pale light pink skinned teenage girl who was about between the ages sixteen or eighteen. She had purple long swirling hair with light aquamarine highlights that differ exponentially from the other's grey, black or white buzzcut hairstyle and it outshines from the midnight shade and heavy rain shower, thanks to the streetlamps' light.

The woman looked at the girl, then at the umbrella and back to the girl.

"Why didn't you hold up the umbrella to me as soon as I got out." She scowled. "You dense fool. This detestable rain has soaked me."

"I-I'm s-sorry, Misstress Chrysalis." The girl stuttered, terrified that she angered her leader and master. "I was caught in the crowd before you arrived here..."

Unfortunately, the duo could only see their mouths move up and down, implying that they were saying something due to the noise of the heavy rain shower made was hard to interpret. Whatever it was, the girl seemed saddened by the woman's words and appeared to. Cheryl couldn't help but feel pity the girl for enduring the abuse that the woman was tossing at her way.

"I don't want to listen to any of your inadequate excuses, Glimmer."

To make the situation even worse, the woman snatched the umbrella from the girl's grasp and shoved the girl on the mud covered ground with her right hand.

"Slaves have no privilege to talk back to me without my permission, let alone forge excuses." She loudly hissed, looking down at the girl with revolted expression. Her body began to slowly morph into a hulking form."You should consider yourself lucky that I even bothered to remember your last name and I don't know... NOT FUCKING MURDER YOU WHERE YOU STAND RIGHT NOW!"

She raised her head and looked at all of her underlings.

"Nobody assists this piece of shit..." She sternly ordered them as point her left index finger at the fallen girl while a dark shadow somehow cast upon her head in the heavy rain night, only her lustrous dark green eyes could be seen. "...or you'll face the same fate as this imbecile and my gullible niece whom we will soon seize."

The duo both winced and disgusted by the woman's cruel actions towards the girl and just left her on the muddy ground without a single apology or asked her minions to help her up. The girl was left to pick herself up and wiped her tears from her eyes with her right muddy sleeve.

After that horrible act, Chrysalis slowly struts to the front door with her underlings behind her, eager to follow her every bidding. She had the graceful movements and body of a sensual model but she appeared to be emitting a slightly visible ominous aura that flows malice and wrath.

The girl finally notices who the woman was after a few seconds of observing her appearance.

"W-wait is that..." She was about to ask but she sees that the man nodded before she could continue.

"Yes, Miss Blossom," Joe confirmed the girl's suspicion on the woman. "That person that you have witnessed come out of that white van and senselessly abused that young girl is one of the Agency's most wanted genetics and nuclear weaponry terrorist, world's deadliest seductress..."

He exhaled a disheartened sigh. "And sadly, was once my greatest friend, Christine Change or what she refers to herself, Mistress Chrysalis. That name was the only intel about her that we have obtained after years of observing Changeling Solutions. She hides her presence and activities from the public very well and..."

"Mister Joe, we don't have time to talk about her background," Cheryl said, her voice sounded panicked. "We have to get over there and save Sweetie before they take her. You said you were looking for my supplies."

The man nodded. "Then let's go find them."

Joe got out of the windowsill and continued his scavenging around the girl's room with a panicked expression. Cheryl followed the man's actions as time is of the essence on her neighbor's wellbeing and the sinister group's intentions that will fall upon the little girl if they don't act immediately.

The duo tossed every object from the shelves, drawers and the closet into the middle of the room, forming a big hodgepodge of miscellaneous items in the process.

"Ahh! Here it is."

Joe and Cheryl simultaneously shouted as they found what they were drastically searching for.

The man seized a red box that had a white first aid cross. He opened the box and checked the contents. Inside were plaster, bandages, and gauzes in a variety of different sizes and shapes, bottles containing an assortment of chemical medicine, disposable sterile gloves, syringes and other medical supplies.

While the girl found a small olive green box with strange numbers and markings that resembled a military ammo box. She opened the box and inspected the contents. Inside was two onyx black .177 caliber pistol which had white letters engraved on the sides of the barrel that say "Colt Defender", two extra magazine clips, three small boxes of the pistol's ammo and a few of the weapons' accessories such as a flashlight and silencer.

"Okay, I got the Basic First Aid Kit and everything seems to be inside and up to date." He notified, relieved to see that none of the contents are missing or used. "Impressive display I've got to admit. Not single spot out of place or missing. Well done, Miss Blossom."

"Thank you, Mis... I mean, Joe." She stated, flushing by the compliment. She grabbed a dark crimson duffle bag from the bottom of the desk, dumped out the contents into the mess pile and placed both boxes inside. She pulled out one pistol and a magazine clip from the olive green box and then presents the said items to the man. "Here's yours, Joe."

"Oh crap, I forgot to bring mine. Many grateful thank yous, Miss Blossom." Joe sheepishly said, smacked his forehead with his left hand while grabbing the items with his free one, placing them on his suit's sewn in pockets. "Nonetheless, have you conducted the proper weapon maintenance on the Assault Gear equipment." He asked, unsure about the items they possess. "We can't have poorly repaired equipment ruin any chances of rescuing..."

"Yes, of course," Cheryl responded before the man could finish his statement. "I cleaned and polished them once a week. I even made close examinations, repair and replace any outdated parts. I hate sloppiness."

"Wow, you really are a prodigy." Joe praised, impressed by the girl's efficiency on her equipment. "I don't know why you haven't risen to the ranks of Senior so soon..."

"This isn't the time to talk about me, Joe. Sweetie's the top priority right now-"

KRSHHH!!!

The duo jolted when they heard a loud crashing noise of a wooden board being hit with great destructive force emit from the nearby house where the little girl was currently inside and a group of sinister looking people was on standby at the front entrance. The pair ran back to the windowsill to see what was going on.

The man and girl were shocked to see that the front door was rammed... no, was kicked in by the woman leader. She and her minions then proceeded to enter the house, some decided to stay behind and guard their vehicles which made it harder to sneak past them and get inside the house.

To add more surprise and difficulty to this situation, Cheryl saw her neighbor was on the ground with a stool beside her. It would appear that the little girl was misfortunate enough to be on the other side of the door and got caught in the impact of the scornful woman's powerful kick.

Another surge of panic burst throughout the pair's bodies as the situation became even more urgent when the Chrysalis attempted to snatch the little girl but barely escaped and ran further into the house.

"We'll have to improvise on saving her and escaping from them," Cheryl shouted, gritted her teeth as the desperation to save her young friend increasing by the second. "We have to over there now."

"On it." Joe agreed as he jumped out of the windowsill and landed safely on the moist grassy front lawn, which again seemed normal for the adolescent girl to witness. The heavy rain has soaked his custom tailored suit and caused his hair to turn into a ragged mess, covering his enraged scowl.

"She's gone too far now," Joe growled, gripping both of his fists harder that some blood began to drip on his left one. He takes out his new acquired pistol and used the butt of the weapon to knock out the first guard he approached. He then grabbed the unconscious body to a bush and hid her inside to prevent being noticed by others and alerting the leader.

"I should have put her down when I had the chance."

He looked at the Cheryl, gave her a thumbs up for good luck, he then proceeded to sneak towards the parked white vans and easily subdued the other guards by knocking them out without creating a loud noise, being noticed by guards beside them and inside the house. Although the heavy rain helped increased his chances, his skills as an agent proved that he can handle any dangerous situation with ease.

While the man was busy apprehending a van where Chrysalis came out of and formulating an escape plan, Cheryl seized her aluminum metal baseball bat that was on the right side of her desk, re-adjust her hold on her duffle bag and took one final glance outside through her window.

"We're coming, Sweetie.

Big Sis Cheerilee is on the case."
