Your Human and You: Adventures of the Griffon Girl
Trauma
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI was starting to become far to familiar with the darkness behind my eyelids. I let out a loud groan as I sat up. The sedatives had worn off a long while ago. I could hardly think properly. I blinked and coughed, and my head hurt. I opened my eyes, and the light had hurt them slightly. I was still to weak to stand because of the intense blood loss I had suffered. I sniffled slightly and opened my eyes despite the pain in my head.
I could barely sense the pitiful stares of Medallion, Wench, Slasher, Rue, and Fylakas. I began to sniffle. I began to sob. I had cried only a few times since my arrival. Everything just weighed down to much on my mind. Everything just weighed down on my body. I was weak. I was tired of life. I just wanted to sleep. To be alone. To go a few days without a hellish event. I was getting sick. My mind couldn't keep blocking those thoughts from my head. Nothing could spare me at this point.
I had suffered more than any one person should have in their lifetime.
I had been ripped from my life- which was shitty to begin with, what with the racist teachers and the bad situation with me being an immigrants daughter.
I had been hunted buy a murderous griffon. I had been rescued by an overworked mother of three. I had been turned into a pet, and agreed to be sold like a piece of life stock. I had a huge scar on either side of my face. I had been forced to deal with a monster in my head, which back home would have meant I was going to be sent to the happy house for a while. I had been forced to endure savagery of the Equestrian Royal guards. I had been shoved into a tiny cage in the hull of a cruise ship. I had been forced to sit through both a griffon and a unicorn having sex. I had been challenged by a human almost 3 times my size. I had been forced to endure the horrible sounds and threats of Rues father. I had endured starvation by the hooves of the Solar Princess. I had been kidnapped by weird bat things. I had been given nothing to drink but alcohol, which was to limit my cognitive function so I would be docile while they took my blood and tried to experiment on me. Then, after I had become overwhelmed by fear, I had been sedated and sent back to the ones I had met for the first time in this land.
Slasher looked at me and sniffled. I looked at her and sobbed quietly. Medallion took a breath and looked at me. He cleared his throat and shakily, he smiled.
"I have... Someone we want you to meet." Wench moved closer to me, nudging a tiny package with the word 'Vinny' written on the side towards me. I looked at it, and tilted my aching head. The trauma of the past months could easily be worked on in a few moments. I pulled the box closer and looked inside to see a nest. The nest was covered in the bottom by fluffy blankets and little sheets, with a little swaddled baby in the middle. I pulled back and covered my mouth, my eyes going wide. I teared up, choking back sobs of joy as I heard small sounds of a baby whining and whimpering. I picked up the swaddled bundle and sniffled.
Realization crossed my mind.
For every trauma and trial... There was another to match.
I had been blessed by being sent here. I got to leave behind a bad life and receive a new start. I had been able to make a little Griffon understand I was intelligent. I had gotten to learn a new language- beak language to communicate. I got to help a couple get married. I got to save Slasher from a very touchy teacher. I got to help save a filly from an abusive home. I got to beat up and save my friends from bullies. I got to dance to help my friend get a message across to Medallions aunt. I got to protect another friend from the pony that wanted to harm her. I got to make a friend. I learned I could speak- in my own... Baladia-y way. And finally... Finally... I got to hold a hatchling griffon in my arms.
My sobbing awakened the baby, and he looked at me with little blue orbs. He had white fur and little front paws, and the beak of an eagle. His back legs were paws as well, but the top of his head had feathers. The hatchling cooed and bat at my face like a kitten, pawing at my tears. I looked up at Fylakas, gaining a look of recognition. I poked my throat, and the little hatchling kept making little chirping sounds.
"F... Fylakas... What did I say to you under my breath back when you guys first opened the box?" He looked at me and his face- if possible -drained of all color, but also flushed fully red. He bit his lip and looked away, and then looked back at me with closed eyes.
"You said 'I love you'." He looked at me, and my face burned brightly. I looked at him and coughed slightly, looking away.
"I was... I was under the influence." He nodded wildly and the little one began to cry and whine, screeching slightly. I poked my throat and slowly removed the swaddle. His little wings spread and flapped as fast as they could, and he was lifted mere inches off the ground. Wench squeaked loudly and tried to stop him, and I giggled.
He giggled back, and I looked surprised. I began to giggle and laugh, the same way the hatchling was. He sat on the blanket next to me and I laughed with him. I laughed into tears and stood up. Laughter turned to sobbing. I charged Slasher into a hug, and she let out a loud squawk. I held my face in her fur. She was my best friend. She may as well have been my sister. I hugged her as tightly as I could and she looked at me like I was crazy.
-I've been through a lot lately Slasher, forgive me if I want a plucking hug!-
She looked shocked and slowly began to laugh, and everyone else began to giggle too. They began to huddle around us, and smile and slowly sink into tears. Fylakas held Vinney tightly and smiled. Vinney cooed and hugged him. Rue lit up her horn and Fylakas was dragged into the hug by his shirt, and everyone welcomed him with happy tears.
-Welcome to the family Fylakas... And Vinney too.-
Welcome to the family.
