Closet Discoveries

I had a cup of steamy coffee. It was drowned in milk and sugar. I took a sip and became pleased by the taste. I had a large pad of paper, and I had compiled a list of questions that everyone had asked me when they found out. I sat calmly and carefully, the pencil tucked behind my ear. I was wearing the silky pajamas from earlier. Medallion had stopped by to drop off the proper supplies yesterday, and I got to work in secret while her and her friends were sleeping over in the room. I worked carefully and quietly. It took me a week just to set everything up due to her friend loving to use me as a practice doll for grooming humans. Usually it felt good, but she tried to dye my hair and it burned, so I hissed and shoved my head under the water. Now I had partial blonde streaks in my hair and that made me mad.

I tensed up every time I heard more than one set of hoof steps coming to the door. I started to think of backing out. Should I? No of course not! I had endured a WEEK of her shit. It felt good to have my hair played with, as much as I hate to say, but it was starting to make my scalp sore. I set the coffee down and looked at her closet door, slowly standing up and taking a few steps towards it. I glanced at the bedroom door, and shifted. I opened the closet door and found something shocking. It was a walk in closet with clothes and outfits filling the shelves to the brim. She had a mannequin of a horse, and a larger one of a Griffon with a half done suit, and then, there was also a female human mannequin. It had my body type with the same type of silky fabric on it. I looked around and found a container. It was old and dusty. It was filled with yarn and there was along, strange piece of wood in the corner. I grabbed it and analyzed it, remembering roughly what it was from my village back in Africa. This was a loom. Was Claw studying fashion? I pulled off the shirt she had made me, it had a built in bra somehow which was a god sent miracle. I looked at the fabric tag stitched into the back and saw the same tag I had seen on the dress back at Wenches and Medallions wedding. Had Claw made these? Was Claw making all of these?

I remembered the loom in my hands and the giant, box of yarn that was neatly wound into tight spools. I froze when I realized what I could be doing. I dragged them out of the closet filled with a chaotic yet harmonized mess of cloth and fashion. It was beautiful. Maybe me and Claw could bond over fashion and-

The door began to open. I rushed to the table after closing the doors, leaving the loom dropped on the floor next to the yarn. I sat stiffly with my back straight up and down, looking at her with a solemn look. I looked at her and took a deep breath. Claw stepped in and didn't seem to notice me at first, distracted by setting aside a large and strange box she had somehow dragged in from the hallway. I smiled and looked at her. Her beak twitched into a fearful glance when she noticed my smile and my position. I slowly tore off the piece of paper after writing choose a question and I will answer as best as I can."

She seemed to be normal. She looked at me, then at the note confused. She chuckled at first and her wings fluttered. I took a sip of coffee and smiled again, and she laughed harder, more confused and hysterical. She looked at me then at the note.

I began scribbling a note out in pencil for her, giggling along with her. She read it out loud.

"Hey, what are we laughing about? Aha... AhA… AHAHAHAHAHA?!" She fluffed her crest to the point where I couldn't help but be worried. I stroked her feathers and calmed her down slowly. She looked at me and gave a squawking cough. I stroked her crest until she purred. She calmed down, and I circled the first question.

I smiled and looked at her. She smiled even brighter and giggled, becoming manic. I pat her fluff to calm her down a bit more. She didn't calm down. She pulled back.

"HAHAHAHA. WHERE ARE YOU MEDALLION?! RUE? RICHARDO?!" She was freaking out, looking everywhere and looking at me like I'm crazy. She was going to go cry if I didn't do something. I hummed to her a calming tune. She looked down at my horrid physical appearance. I looked at her hand she looked back. I gasped quietly when I saw her tears. I was right about the crying.

I wrote for her to read my note carefully. I wrote things that she and I would have known from out experience together. On Crystalmas, we went into a store. I thought as hard as I could so I could get it right. I couldn't remember what I had done with her. I couldn't.

Soon, she I could feel the hope drain from my eyes.

"I... I guess... I knew you were intelligent. It really isn't a surprise... The way you respond to questions. The way you respond to orders. Things ponies passively say to us about you... Last night you fell asleep so easily. Humans, after being groomed so much, are usually whimpering. Crying like pups.. You? You seemed to enjoy it. The bal... The dancing. The way you look at Fylakas when you're not fully there? It just proves to me. It proves everything I guess I subconsciously knew." She was tearing up and smiling slightly, her feathers around her eyes a bit damp. Getting wetter.

I wrote to her, deciding it was within the best of interests if I told her the truth about the others.

"Everyone knows about this but Talon now. He's in for a surprise." She laughed and her feathers fluffed as she laid down on the carpet with tears. I looked at her, feeling guilty. "You also may want to learn beak language."

This made her sobbing turn to giggles as she lowered her head to my level. She had a huge smile on her face as I smiled and she looked at me a bit frightened. I looked at her with a realized look.

"You clearly aren't from Equestria. You clearly aren't from anywhere on Equus. Where are you from?" This would need to be discussed later, and I wrote that, stretching tensely. I laid down on the human bed next to her and she crowded into the bed next to me, squishing me against the wall as she purred loudly and tiredly, content to fall asleep.

The darkness was pleasant this time.
