Your Human and You: Adventures of the Griffon Girl
Eplanation Needed
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI sat at the little table late into the night, a slight look of annoyance on my face as Slasher continued to ask questions. My hand had started to hurt from my writing out every answer. Here's the questioning so far, on the paper.
"So you're smart?"
~Yes~
"How?!"
~School!~
"Where did you come from that teaches humans to write?!"
~M.I.K.R.O.S...~
"So Mikros was your school... Not your name??"
~Yes, and they love the Griffons that's why the symbol was on it.~
"No! There is NO way this is happening!!"
~And yet you're still here... And this is happening.~
"But it can't!" Her voice raised and I covered my ears. "You shouldn't be able to do that! This! No human from Griffondor should be able to do what you're doing right now this second!"
~I'm not from Griffondor... I'm not even from 'Equss'.~ My thoughts echoed in my mind as I gathered information.
She made a face that said "slasher machine broke" and I rubbed my forehead in exhaustion. Three hours had passed and I'm STILL here writing answers to questions! But... This was necessary. Necessary enough for me to say that I owed it to her to at least answer her questions and clear up misconceptions.
"So you're... An alien?" She asked this in a way that shattered my expectations of stupidity.I ran it through my head though, and tilted my head as I thought.
~I guess yeah... Wow... That's weird to think about in this weird world.~
"What?! This world is normal, what are you talking about?!" Her crest fluffed up in surprise and slight hostility, causing me to roll my eyes and pat her feathers.
~Normal for you, strange for me. I just went from being an intelligent creature to a household pet. How do you think that feels?!~ She took a moment to speak and I could see she was thinking it over in her head.
"I.. I guess that would be weird for someone..." She was still deep in thought I looked at her and tilted my head, a small smile forming across my face before she fluffed up in fear.
"AH! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! ARE YOU GOING TO KILL ME?!" She squawked loudly and fearfully as I grabbed at her beak and motioned for her to shhhhUUUUT THE HELL UP!
!WHAT?! WHAT DID I DO?!~ I wrote as quickly as I could as she looked at me and her feathers fluffed up again.
"You can SMILE?! Humans can't SMILE!!" Her voice was loud enough to scare the outside owl and that freaked me out. I hugged her until she calmed down, and she indeed did with time.
Her feathers revealed an orangeish undertone to her feathers. That made me curious and I waited for her feathers to fall back down to their normal downed position. Then, I poked the back of her neck just to see. Quickly, her feathers fluffed back up and she squawked.
"How'd you do that?!" She was squirming again, trying to get free of my hold on her. I laughed, and I let her go. "NO ONE LAUGHS AT ME!" She tackled me and I yipped, turning and barreling towards the door. She let me go and I tore off, running faster than I could have thought possible. She followed after, and I charged outside and shrieked as my body was assaulted by the coldest air I've ever felt in my entire life. My shriek was animalistic and horrifying, and it drew in some sort of strange echo, that seemed to get louder as I looked around. I backed away and ran at the door, trying to get in. The door was locked and Slasher was inside holding the door closed, an evil and playful smile across her face. I became faintly aware of the creaking sounds of the woods around me. There was a snap here...
A scratch there...
A sickening howl close by.
And that last part is what did me in. I thought it would be a better fate to die running from a wolf than banging on the door to an inn I had been treated as a pet at.
I glanced back at the woods and turned and froze at what I saw.
A slowly approaching black vine, a horrid thing, with a pair of piss yellow eyes with blood red pupils glaring from the darkness.
"Ohhh this is fun! A little Ballet lost in the woods. What a lovely little treat for my favorite vine spores."
A vine was quickly getting into position to attack my leg. I closed my eyes and prepared to accept the fate of this when a moment of pure instinct snapped through my body and I began to charge at the red eye'd beast. A surprised chuckle emerged from the darkness as a faint black outline came across my vision. I landed a single blow to the creature, and this made it laugh and the vines retreated into the darkness. Every blow and punch I threw after that were easily dodged as he commented on my attempts at fighting.
"Almost had me, Ohhh, nice shot! Missed, but keep going! You'll get me eventually! Oh I almost felt that one!"
I couldn't do it anymore and I fell to the ground in exhaustion, and a red aura enveloped my form as I tried to kick the creature, growling and slashing in the most primitive display I could. This had turned from a fight of intelligence, to me defending myself from some sort of predator... Right? 4 years of martial arts and I still couldn't beat anyone... A thought crossed my mind.
What WAS that thing?!
I was moved upwards, and the thing chuckled.
"I really should have brought more people your age over, so impulsive and chaotic! I love it!"
I shot him the bird and he laughed, before a fading whistling tune of straighten up and fly right came around. I was levitated up and in through a window, into the room with Wench and the mysterious unicorn stallion, and I groaned inwardly as I saw Slasher slouched sniffling in the corner.
In my half dead, shivering state, I slowly moved to hold the little Griffon. This was the weirdest night that I had suffered since l came here, and I knew I would be seeing that figure again whether I wanted to or not.
"Slasher... just go to bed." Wench was to exhausted to yell at her daughter, and she obliged hanging her head low and I looked down at the ground. I couldn't. I couldn't watch her go.
"And you... You took on a WOLF! A hunting, lone wolf! You punched it in the FACE! How?! Are humans really that protective?!" Wench gained more energy as she spoke to me, absolutely astonished by my actions. That thing was not a wolf.
"She probably sensed it was going to attack the inn. Griffons are pretty vulnerable in this kind of weather, it's early winter after all." The smooth voice of the stallion calmed my nerves and I glanced at him, relaxing intensely.
"You really think so Medallion?" Wench trotted back to her bed as I was levitated up again, and set on a human pillow bed next to the fireplace with a heavy blanket dropped over me.
I still hate being treated like a pet...
The strangest thing happened next- which is surprising for me to say now that I've just fought a hentai thorn monster with yellow eyes, admitted intelligence to the youngest griffon of a family, and met a fucking UNICORN.
Medallion got into bed with Wench.
A griffon.
And a pony.
I sat up and just stared at the two, a look of confusion coming across my face.
Why can't I just have a nice NORMAL night for once?!
Author's Note
Um... Yeah... I know this is weird, I just... I needed to introduce some concepts I've been needing to for a while.
