A crack of thunder resounded through the air. It just happened to be raining on a day like this. But it wouldn't bother me, for I had a job to do.

I grow giddy as I get closer to my destination, shovel in hand and with a cart in tow. There was a hole in the walls of Canterlot that nobody seemed to notice. It seemed old as moss seemed to seep from the cobblestone.

I pass through the hole and reach my destination. I feel electricity run through me as I look up and read the sign with a blank face.

"Canterlot Graveyard" I repeated the words through my mind, feeling bolts through my body, but showing no expression on my face, I had no remorse for the job I was to do.

I stop at the entrance and looked all around, taking in the sights of hundreds if not thousands of tombstones, scattered around this land. I walk amongst them until I stop at one that catches my interest.

It seemed normal enough but it wasn't weathered enough to be considered old. I look at the grave and notice that there is no grass.

"Must be a new grave" I thought to myself

I read the headstone with a still expressionless face. A smile slowly grew as I read the date, It was freshly buried, only a day old.

I stick my shovel in the ground and dig for what seemed to be hours. I start to pant as the dirt started running with the rain and making this job even harder than it needed to be.

Keep going

I stopped and froze, then listened.

You need this

"Yes, I do don't I?

I summoned some unknown strength in me and continued digging until I hit wood, I scraped the dirt off the coffin and smiled maliciously.

"Jackpot"

I lifted the coffin out of the ground and put it in my cart and left, heading towards the hole in the wall, making sure to leave no trail.

I woke up as a hoof stirred me awake, I open my eyes to find a stirred Luna who seems to be quite disturbed.

"Now what seems to be the matter, my dear sister" I say tiredly

"T-Tia..... somepony's G-grave has been r-robbed"

I stared at her for a minute before I shook my head.

"Has the perp been captured?"

"No, there were no trails or any incriminating evidence, just an empty grave, there was a mound of dirt still next to it" she said in a morose voice.

I sigh " Tell the guards to launch an investigation to find whoever did this"

It took me a while to get the damn coffin down to my cabin, as the path is quite treacherous. I set it down in the middle of an empty room that I don't use much anymore.

I open the coffin to find a purple coated Unicorn who seemed to be quite peaceful. That is, until I lifted the body out and set it on a wooden table.

I looked over the body and slowly opened the eyes, there was still color as red-tinted eyes looked back at me with a coldness one could associate with death.

The eyes seemed to be quite morbidly beautiful. Like they were looking on me as if I was a lover.

Rip them out

I trembled and reached for my tools that I set on the table. I get clamps and pull the eyelids open and then retrieve a scooper. I then carefully pulled out the eyeballs, only tearing the muscles that held it in place and scooped them out. They popped out easily as can be and were only held by the optic nerve. I retrieved some scissors and carefully cut the nerve.

I quickly catch the eyeballs and examined them. I proceed to cut the remaining stump of the optic nerve and place the eyeballs aside, opting to use them as bases for candles.

Or eyes in a mask

I shivered and carried on with my morbid task. I stop when I opened up the chest and took a look into the organs. I noticed that the heart was still beating and.....

I quickly looked over at the heart and noticed that it indeed was still beating. I looked at the head and scrambled back when the upper half of the body jerked up and turned to look at me.

I could've sworn that I heard the words "Why me?", before I blinked and the body was laying as motionless as before. I lay there shivering and sweating profusely for what seemed like days but was only 5 minutes.

I slowly walk forward and looked at the heart.

Still as a stone.....

I shook my head and carried on. I deboned the corpse and opted to use them to build a chair and also deskinned the body. I had a strange talent for perfectly skinning a body, so perfectly that you could wear it.

I froze and shivered and looked at the skin sagging on the table. I stare at it and slowly take it. I first take off the skin that I was wearing for the last few years I've been living in Equestria and slowly stretch out my arms and extend my fingers. It felt good to be free of a flesh prison but I needed to wear the skins to keep myself hidden from the others.

I climb into the skin from the body and put it on. It fit, but at the same time it did not. I sighed, the same problem from before coming to face.

Maybe a suit from the skin of someone who still lives would be good?

I freeze and silently agreed with the voice. Maybe I could try living ponies instead of corpses. If one skin failed, then I could just try another.

I took the skin off and set it on a rack, I left the remains of the corpse on the table and closed the door. I decided to sleep in my true form this night, as It ached to stay cooped up in the skin of another.

I cleaned muself, had dinner, then went to bed.

Strange dreams haunted me that night. One's of a Lunar being. One's that consisted of lust and gore that were blended in a strange and twisted but gratifying completion that I could not comprehend.

I found a wet stain in my bed when I woke the day after.
