Epilogue: Spike's Discovery

Late afternoon had arrived and Spike figured that the mare to mare talk that Twilight wanted to have with Starlight was likely well over so he headed back to the castle. When he headed in he was not greeted by anypony, all he heard was silence. He yelled, "Twilight, Starlight, are you two here?"

He heard nothing but silence and this was very unlike them. Normally at least one, if not both of them, would have headed in to greet him. He couldn't help but wonder what was going on. The first place he headed was to the throne room only to find it empty. He then said to himself, "The library! They have to be in the library!"

He headed to the library and found that it too was empty. He then said to himself, "Did they go somewhere? Did they have to suddenly rush to Canterlot for some reason?"

He continued to search each room of the castle and found nopony in any of them. While he thought the chances of it would likely be zero, he decided to go and check the bedrooms. The first one he headed to was Starlight's and like every other room, it was empty. He threw his hands up in the hair and sighed, "I don't know what to think! I'll check Twilight's bedroom but why would either of them be in there at this time of day?"

As he approached the door to her bedroom, he heard something. He heard moaning, moaning similar to what had woke him up last night. He gasped, "What is going on with her? Why would she be in bed this time of day?"

He cracked the door open and was shocked when he heard not one moan, but two. He then could hear kissing and heavy breathing. He gasped, "It can't be! Are Twilight and Starlight?" He then did a facepalm and laughed, "Come on Spike, you should know that would never happen!"

Despite saying this, he approached the bed, jumped on it and was shocked by what he saw. Sure enough, there were Twilight and Starlight, moaning and kissing passionately. He yelled, "Twilight, Starlight, what are you doing?"

They broke their kiss and shot up. Both of them were shocked to see that Spike had caught them in their act. Neither mare really knew what to say when Spike again asked, "Twilight, Starlight, what are you doing and why are you doing it?"

Both of them turned a deep red, wondering how they would answer this question. As they continued to remain silent, Spike asked, "Twilight, does this have anything to do with you calling out Starlight's name last night?"

Starlight asked, "You were calling out my name? Were you having a dream about me?"

Twilight replied, "Starlight, we can talk about that alone." She then turned to Spike and continued, "Spike, I know you're wondering what is going on but I think this would be obvious even to you."

Spike asked, "So is this what your mare to mare talk was about, are you two marefriends now?"

Starlight replied, "Yes, we are."

Twilight confirmed, "Yes we are and we would appreciate it if we could have some privacy."

Spike sighed, "Alright but I'm just curious about how this happened."

Twilight asked, "Look, we'll talk about this later but for now, could we have our privacy?"

Spike sighed, jumped off the bed and left the room. After closing the door he heard the two get back to what they had done earlier. He shook his head and said to himself, "Those two used to hate each other and now this?" He headed downstairs and figured that they would go down when they were ready and would tell him about how it happened, maybe. One thing he did know was that things in the castle would never be the same again.
